Amazing (Busy) Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

Back from another great and productive weekend! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Friday wasn’t fun by any means but I did get to cross something off the to do list. After work Friday I picked Everett up from his last day at daycare, went home and started working on our tub. I had to chip, pull, and chisel the old caulking out. That was the worst thing I have done in a long while, even worse than painting our fence. After that it was time to clean and re-caulk it. I tried for the first time the hand squeezed tubes of sealant, thinking it would be easier in that tight space, but I really didn’t like it. I went through 4 of the little things and at the end of the day would have liked more, but that amount at least filled the space back up. So on that note everything is looking good.

Saturday was our super busy day. We woke up, had breakfast and headed to my wife’s mom’s house. We got to her place and cooked out on the grill, fr lunch. Everett was having a great time under the patio umbrella.

1

My wife was invited as a guest to the wedding of her dad’s, wife’s, mother’s wedding. She was also there to take pictures of the event. At the same time I was heading out to my best friends 30th birthday party that his wife threw him. They happened to be the same time and in different directions, so I missed the wedding. I was able to catch up with him and his family for a couple of hours before heading back to the reception on the lake. There they had a beautifully decorated ball room on the ground level over looking part of the lake.

2

The dinner consisted of everything on my plate haha. Keep it short and sweet! πŸ˜€

3

Once it was time to leave the reception we stopped to visit my wife’s dad. He isn’t in the greatest health anymore and it has come on all of the sudden. His brother and sister in-law were there too. We hung out for a bit and then stopped back at her mom’s to get Everett. By the time we made it home again it was 10:30pm and we were beat!

As days go, Sunday was next on the list. We had 2 softball games in the middle of the day. In short we won both games pretty convincingly. I pitched the second game until it was a blow out and then we all swapped positions. I hit a big home run in the second game, but other than that a quit hitting day for me with only a .500 average.

4

When I got home I just stayed in my ball pants and mowed the grass, and trimmed the edges. Everett was outside with him mom enjoying the sun and the pool we inflated. When I got finished I just stripped down and laid in the pool. Then the randomness started. We wanted to head back to the local Ollie’s Bargain store to look around. We wanted to get something for the yard. We we did and headed home. More on that in a bit. My mother and wife decided to take the initiative and weed what they could of our massive garden. It is over run with that Morning Glory crap and it is everywhere.

9

So it all looks like that up top

610

They got this back half looking pretty good, but had to stop due to time and lack of room in the truck bed lol. If they could do this for another 3 solid days they could weed all of the flower beds in the front and back yard, if they hustled. πŸ˜€ In the mean time I was draining the pool to move it for our big purchase! I was in the background setting it all up.

7

We bought this nice offset umbrella for the yard as well as the bug net, four chairs, and glass table all for $200! πŸ˜€ I’m grinning at that price all day. πŸ˜€

Lastly a nice look from within. If you look close you can see Everett ‘helping’ in the last four pictures haha. He stood out there with them the whole time, just holding on to the wheel barrow.

8

Once I was done unloading the scraps at my parent’s house, we called it a night and here we are. It was a great weekend I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if given the chance. I hope you all had an amazing weekend as well. I’ll be back again tomorrow for another daily post, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Friday #2

Hey Everyone!

So no ‘Coffee Talk’ this morning. Sorry about that. It was a little hectic this morning, but its calmer now. πŸ˜€

This morning was the last day of daycare for our little man, before staying at home with his mama. It is bitter sweet like I have stated before, because we love that he is interacting with others and learning while he is there. On the other hand I know my wife ultimately would love to be raising him. So, it had to be done, even if it may be tougher in some ways. This morning my wife suggested that we get the daycare workers a little something, so I stopped at the local Tim Horton’s and bought them a dozen donuts.

Today after I pick Everett up, I will be re-caulking the tub. I have to scrape the old gunk out and clean it. Dry it off. Then the fun stuff haha. I’ll be using a new to me type of caulk, so it’ll be a test. I hope all goes well, because that type of stuff drives me crazy pretty fast, if things go wrong. If it stays nice out I’ll probably mow the grass while I’m at it.

In other house-ish news. I measured behind my garage, and now know that I can fit a sizable storage shed behind it. I could get away with one as big as 8×13. More realistic I will probably get something about 7 feet wide by 7 to 10 feet long. I’ll then be able to re-stack my firewood beside it. πŸ˜€ I’ll probably get a resin shed, and it’ll cost around 600 to 800 dollars, which isn’t bad at all.

Our weekend is packed with softball, a wedding, and my best friends 30th birthday party. I’ll be sure to snag some pictures! I hope you all have a great time this weekend, and I’ll see you Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Distracted Tuesday!

Hey Everyone!

I have been a bit distracted today. My boss is off with an illness and I need his input on a project. I am kind of dead in the water here, just a bit. I have done a few things here and there, little fires, but nothing crazy. I also have a few things I need to order, but they have to go through my boss, so why bother until he is back lol. πŸ˜€

I’m catching up on some World Cup news, while I wait. I’m still determined to root for Iceland until they are out haha. The ultimate underdog! I love sports that are overseas, because they are on at a reasonable time for me on the east coast. I hate when I try to watch a ball game, of other kinds, because they are most always further west and on super late for me. So I like this! πŸ˜€

Lets see. What is coming up for me. Oh, my brother is having a diaper party for my new niece arriving in August! We will also have some more softball this weekend. the next few weekends will be packed. We have a wedding, a birthday party, bridal shower, and a family reunion all packed in. It’ll be a bit hectic. I’ll try to have some pictures.

In some cool gaming news. I bought Conan Exiles a while back. It is a great game to play at your own pace and at your own difficulty. You are in well Conan the Barbarian times and level up and survive, all while completing quests and what not. Disclaimer there is anatomically correct bodies if you do have a child that wants to play it.Β  There is full nudity, if you don’t turn that off. There are ‘safe’ servers but you have to find them.I have been having a great time with the game. Here is a link to the Conan website!

I also bought House Flipper on Steam for $15.99. It is a part of the Steam summer sale, until the 5th of July I believe. Even my wife seemed to kind of like this one! πŸ˜€ If you have ever dreamt of being Chip and Joanna Gaines this is the game for you. You start small doing odd jobs for people while fixing up their places and your own. Then you can buy a house, flip it with your budget and sell it for profit. It is highly addicting and fun. At $15.99 it really is a steal.Β  My man Jon Sandman had the first video I saw!

That is all for me today! I hope you all have a great day! I’ll be back tomorrow, and hope to see you then. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

3rd Wedding Anniversary! <3

Hey Everyone!

It is the middle of the week and it is also the third wedding anniversary for my wife and I! With Mother’s day, Everett’s birthday, and this all so close to each other it is a bit over whelming, but May it going to always be a busy month for us now. πŸ˜€

My wife Jordyn and I met in college, and started dating shortly after, in 2011. She would spend most days during the summer at my college home. Within the next semester we started living together in a house with 3 other people, her friends/sorority sisters. We hadn’t gotten sick of each other yet so we kept moving forward! We soon moved to a place on her grandfather’s land not too far away, where we lived for about 2 years. I was in and out of working multiple jobs, and then decided to go back to school during that time. She was finishing up her bachelors and starting her masters program. When I finished school I began to look for a job, which ultimately led us back to my hometown. This being about four years ago now. We lived with my parent’s in the upstairs of their house, with our dog and cat. My wife made this all work out by driving over an hour and a half a few days a week, to finish her masters program! We didn’t want to be apart for days on end. At this time we had been engaged and eventually got married May 16th, 2015. In November of 2016 we closed on our house and that is where were are currently. During that time is she had been pregnant for a few months, and had our baby boy soon after on May 22, 2017. Here we are a year later!

We have been through quite a lot, with school, friends, family, financial distractions,Β  distance,Β  and a child, but have come out better for it. Each day I believe that we are stronger as a couple, and hope that continues for many years. She is everything I have ever wanted in a partner, and more. I couldn’t imagine living a life without her or our fairly new little family. She supports me in too many ways to mention, all while being my very best friend. For that I thank her.

That is it for me today! I just wanted to give a shout out to my amazing wife today, and let you all in for a sneak peak of where we came from and how we got here. Thanks for reading! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

May 1st!

Hey Everyone!

I don’t have too much for today, so we can just enjoy the fact that it is now May! Hopefully most of us are having better weather now and that will stick with us throughout the ensuing summer.

This is a big month for us as a family now. Everett’s birthday is in May. Mother’s Day is in May, Our dating and wedding anniversaries are also in May. So it is safe to assume that May will be full of friends, family, and good times. This May is special more so because it will be Everett’s first birthday. We are pretty excited and sad at the same time about that one. We are going to have a party for him and invite our family and friends, for a nice time. We are also going on a nice vacation in May. We are heading to Colorado! We are taking the cheap route of driving a small vehicle, and staying with family. It will be awesome, I really can’t wait much longer for that. I’m not sure what we will do there so if you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way?!?

On another note I was able to finish hand painting the inside part of our back landing. This means I’m good to use the paint sprayer again and not worry about painting the house haha. I hope to maybe get some of that done tonight, as well as find out if I’ll need a bit more paint. Once the painting gets done I’ll have to get my dad’s power washer and spray down the garage and out back deck since we are having people over. We have done a bunch of yard work in the past 2 years and haven’t cleaned that area yet, so it just has some dirt and what not over it.

That is about it. That is our month in a nut shell. I hope you are planning some cool things for this summer. I’ll talk to you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Some Things & Some Stuff

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was very pleasant. Friday was like any other. At work I was able to clean up our messy data closet in our second building. I don’t have any before photos, but it is much better trust me haha.

20180112_142919 20180112_143905

Saturday we had some snow to shovel off the sidewalks and I ran the snowblower up and down my driveway about an hour. I was able to hit the side walk of my two neighbors too. Not my terrible neighbor but the other two haha. We were going to go as a family to a wedding on my mom’s side of the family, but we had a small indecent. I was getting in some much needed gaming time and my wife was hanging out with Everett down stairs. He has gotten to the age where he can lunge and really play. He can hold himself up while sitting and can stand with help. That being said, he decided it would be a great idea to lunge straight off the couch. He fell flat on his face onto the floor. It sounds pretty terrible, but He just got a bruise and a bloody nose. He was happy shortly after. Here you can see his bruise setting in nicely.

signal-2018-01-13-122546

Poor little guy! His mommy was shaken up pretty bad because she was there when it happened. I all I can do is reassure here there is nothing she could have done and that it wasn’t he fault in any way. Hes getting to be a fast, slippery little guy. He is dong just fine today. πŸ˜€

So needles to say, I went to the wedding alone. I met my parents there but it was at a fish and game club on a side road. It was pretty messy.

20180113_142715

The wedding was a very redneck, laid back wedding. It was my mother’s second cousin, who was getting married. They made most of the food on the buffet line and it was a fun time. I made a plate and brought it home for my wife when I left. When my parents made it out they stopped over and saw Everett for a bit. They don’t see him very often because we take him with us all the time, so we find some time to let them come over and hang out.Β  The rest of the night was spent watching the terrible football games. I hate watching the Patriots win and hate watching the team that has the best chance of beating them lose all in the same day (Steelers) haha. Now the worst thing that could happen in the NFL right now is if the Patriots and Eagles both win. That would be a super bowl I wouldn’t even watch. The ideal game in my eyes would be the Steelers v. Vikings. Since that can no longer be true the next best game, in my eyes would be the Jags v. Vikings.

Sunday we a relaxing day I played some games, we went and got some pizza for lunch. We just lounged, and snuggled our baby all day. In the evening we watched the last half of the Vikings game, and pretty much just went to bed.

Today I am very busy at work, and I’m glad I could get this post out at all.

That was my weekend. I hope you all had a good one as well. πŸ˜€ I’ll see you all tomorrow.

Coffee Talk

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful morning. I remembered to write this post so that instantly puts me in a decent mood haha. I have one cup of coffee under my belt, or in my stomach for you literal types, and I’m ready to go.

While having coffee it is imperative that you talk about the weather. Out weather went from -15 to + 50 in one day. It is insane. We had more than a foot of snow and over the course of two warm days it is all gone. Here is the kicker, tonight and over the weekend we are getting another foot of snow, DOH! Make up your mind mother nature. I’m hoping your weather trends are less harsh.

On a Friday whilst drinking coffee with your friend you are also obligated to talk about any plans you may have for the weekend. I’m fairly certain that some one on my mom’s side of the family is getting married and we said we would go. We don’t see them often, probably for good reason, but it is nice to get a dose of them here and there haha. I think most of you can relate to something similar.

Lastly, if you have a family of your own you have to catch the other person up on what has transpired since you last spoke. In this case, Everett is doing much better. He is getting over his yeast infection, croup, and ear infection nicely. He is as happy as could be, somehow, and growing like a (good) weed. In other somewhat family news a little while back, my brother and sister in law announced that they are having another baby. So I will have another niece or nephew in about 7 months. Yippie!

Then you have the always awkward park, when your are both done with your coffee and realized you ran out of things to talk about. You say “Welp…” get up and pay your bill. Say your good byes and head on your way, until next time. I’ll see ya then! Have a good weekend. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Welp, That Happened Again!

Hey Everyone,

I won’t make you guess, I got another sinus infection! I can’t believe it. I really think it is from taking our son to daycare, that is the only thing that has changed in our lives in the past few months. I get sick once or twice every five years, not twice in two months! What the hell? I’m hoping this doesn’t become a regular thing, not only do I have limited time off, it straight up sucks!

That all being said I missedΒ  Monday’s weekend round up , so I ‘ll muddle through it today. I am still feeling like crap and covering for a co-worker so its an early day for me today and tomorrow. Go figure I get sick when the most amount of responsibility is on my shoulders.Β  Well lets start on Friday night. We went to bed and that was the most exciting thing, until about 2 am Saturday morning, you know the day we are taking wedding pictures. I woke up not able to breathe through my nose and with a terrible sore throat, as well as a nice pounding headache. I made sure to try and finish getting some rest, but that didn’t go too well. We finally got the family up and had to get our son ready to go to his grandparents house all day and into the evening. We also had to finish pack up up our photography equipment and get our itineraries straight. To keep it short we were gone on assignment from 10 am until 7 pm. That is a nine hour work day, on a weekend, while sick, no thank you.

I traveled with the groom and his party, while they golfed, and got ready. While I had some time I took a few drone fly overs. I’ll like just this one, but the quality is crappy because it came off of my phone compressed. It will be in HD when we get it ready for them.

There will later be music added with a couple other videos and picture from the weeding added in a nice video/slide show for the bride and groom. I tried to make it all night, and I did succeed, but I felt like death and my whole body hurt.

I spent the whole day Sunday on the couch, being about good for nothing. My amazing wife did everything she could for all of us. I’m not a very easy person to be around when I feel like that. She deals with me pretty well. πŸ˜€ I must have done something right though because I started feeling a bit better late in the day, but still not well enough to do anything. I made the decision to not go into work, not knowing if I was contagious. I, instead went to the clinic Monday morning, and got on an antibiotic. I also had a meeting with the plumber to tell me that to fix our main water line that is broken, that it will cost about $2100 that I don’t have. So that is fun.

That brings me to today. I came in early to cover a co-worker. I made sure to go to bed early and get some sleep. everything has been going OK thus far, but I’m still achy and not in any mood for crap haha. I will get out about an hour before the others so that is nice. I have my antibiotic for ten days then I should be well in the clear. I really hope I don’t get this crap again. I hate being sick.

As for the plumbing, I think it is one of those things we just have to do, and we are going to have to bite the bullet and go for it. We should still have enough come tax season to waterproof the basement so that should still be a go.

That is all for me today, I may or may not be able to post tomorrow, we will see. I hope you had a much better weekend than I did. and I’ll see ya! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Wedding & Productive Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

I would like to start off by saying sorry for missing Friday’s post. Whoopsies! In all seriousness I didn’t for get I was tasked with a really difficult project. It has all been sorted out as of this morning but it was something I was not very familiar with, so it took a while. It was a macro enabled Excel sheet that got all jacked up from the latest Office update. I has to go through the VBA code with the guy who wrote it and figure out what we could do. It really did take all day haha.

Secondly I want to send a shout out to Riley, from Riley’s Backpack! A while back you might remember him and his friends wanted to raise enough money on their Go Fund Me page to renew their domain and keep it ad free. I helped them out with what I could, and in return He send me a hand written letter. I wanted to say thank you and let you know you did indeed get my name correct haha πŸ˜€

g

Saturday the little family and I went to a wedding! It was not just any wedding, it was her father’s wedding to his long time girlfriend. They now have a baby boy well over one year old and finally got hitched. You can see all three of them below.

d

I know it isn’t the best picture but our little buddy kept getting fussy and we did end up leaving sooner than we intended to. It was a quaint little wedding in a nice Catholic church. The reception was on the lake in a really nice dining hall. The trip was a bit lengthy and I wasn’t super fond of that but it was all worth it.

Before we went to the wedding we stopped for lunch at my wife’s grandparent’s house. He had pumpkins waiting for him and wanted pictures with him up on his tractor. So that is what went down. Here is a shot of Everett Hugh and his great grandfather Francis Hugh!

s.jpg

Once we got home that evening we hit the hay.

Sunday started out pretty lazy, as intended, but wound up being quite productive. We didn’t quite have a frost but it was damn close. We had some morning coffee from our new coffee bar, and watched Netflix in our pajamas. We did have quite a bit to do and honestly got most of it done. We had your standard weekend cleaning, on top of laundry since we were gone the whole day before. I took out all the trash, hung Halloween lights, and mowed the grass. Later in the day I had a lady come look at the pellet stove I am selling, and I hope to hear back from her soon. My parents came over and brought Chinese for dinner. That was a great way to round out the weekend.

On a, probably over protective note, our boy has what looks like a small red-ish rash looking spot on his chin. Since we were around a bunch of people recently we don’t want him to have anything wrong with him. You hear all of the horror stories about babies getting bad viruses and we really hope it is nothing. I think I’ll call the doctor after lunch.

Again I apologies for missing Friday but I’ll be back again tomorrow. I’ll see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Very Busy Weekend! (Photo Bomb)

Hey Everyone!

I hope you read (looked at) my last post on the 4th of July parade in my hometown. There are a ton of cool pictures of the groups that participated this year. This post however is about the whole weekend in general! It was jam packed with things to do.

Lets see, where to start? Well Saturday we went to my wife’s friends wedding and the wedding venue was a doctors house that overlooked Lake Erie! It is absolutely gorgeous. Take a look:

20170701_162205

They had a lady there playing the violin during and after the ceremony:

20170701_162212

Here they did a unity “wine box” it is really a time capsule that they will open on their fifth anniversary:

20170701_162231

Here you can see their nice birch wood wedding arch:

20170701_162238

20170701_16224620170701_162524

We were shuttled back to our car, by the Flagship Trolley. Funny story, we read the invitation wrong and didn’t realize there there was no parking. So we drove to the venue only to park outside of a long housing complex, and walk to the wedding. We were running late as is, from taking Everett to his grandma’s house, and now we had to walk to the wedding! We almost didn’t make it. The trolley driver was nice enough to bring us back to our car after the ceremony.

20170701_16370620170701_163713

After the ceremony we hung out and had a bit of a cocktail hour. My wife and I left a bit early so she could pump. We got to the church for the reception about an hour early. Once she was done we went inside to get seats only to find out that they didn’t have enough! So we left. There was no way that we were going to stand and eat or stay that late anyway so we went back to her mom’s to have dinner. There we had baked chicken, baked potatoes, and beans. Her grandparents came over and held the baby for a little bit.

20170701_19041220170701_191853

Before we left her grandpa had me take a picture of how high the corn is there. He was saying that it was much higher than where we live, and to show people the picture. So here ya go haha.

20170701_193453

Another thing was that he gave us a bunch of onions from his garden. After we got home I cleaned and ‘processed’ them, and got them in the refrigerator.

20170701_22174320170701_222608

So ended out Saturday! Sunday, like most summer Sundays, we had a double header in softball. We did win both games but they took forever, due to lack of defense on all teams part haha. Each game was like 30 something to 30 something. That makes for a long seven innings, but we managed to win them both. I think I went 9 for 11 with two home runs so I’ll take it! Immediately after softball, we ran home and got ready to go kayaking/canoeing. We put in by the Kinzua Dam and floated around for about three hours.

20170702_15480620170702_15514520170702_16171720170702_161719

This little guy was riding on our cooler the whole way haha:

20170702_16353720170702_164734

When we were all done we converged at my parents house for some pizza and wings and called it a night. I was exhausted, so it didn’t take me long to pass out.

Monday came right on schedule, and I woke up and got ready to go to camp. We were clearing some paths and working on the cabin a bit more. I was the one with the four wheeler and chainsaw clearing the paths. I only got one good before and after picture because I was in the zone haha.

20170703_130414Screenshot_20170703-141927

That was one of about four or five. My cousin, dad, and brother were back at the cabin putting in a framed wall with a window, and the only interior wall for the bedroom:

20170703_14002520170703_140042

You can see the window in the background of the second picture and the interior wall that will have a little shelf. After the cabin I gt home just in time to cut the grass and shower before my wife’s brother, sister in-law, and their baby got into town. They came for the fireworks that night, and stayed for the parade and picnic on the 4th. The only picture I have from the fireworks is of Everett wearing adult ear phones haha.

20170703_213515.jpg

I don’t thing his was impressed lol!

The next morning was the parade, again check out my first post dedicated to the whole parade. We met up with my aunt and uncle, their kids, and their kids kids haha. There were 17-20 of us there total. This parade was bigger and longer, because all of the Shriners came to this parade, and had a huge picnic in our area after. My grandfather, dad, uncle, and cousin are all Shriners and Zem Zem Hornets. You know the little yellow cars in my video. I think I will be joining this October so stay tuned for that! I love the Shriners and what they do.

After the parade we headed to my parents house for a family picnic. There were seven kids there and six or so of us younger adults, as well as all of our parents, so it was pretty big. We cooked burgers and hot dogs on the grill and had a ton of great food. Here we have my cousins little girl and my brothers little girl. They are a day apart in age, how cute!

20170704_143407

I was able to sneak a somewhat candid shot haha. I don’t like being that guy who takes random pictures so I only got one lol.

20170704_150331

My brother and two cousins played a combined 15 games of Kan Jam the rest of the afternoon. If you don’t have this game you are really missing out! It is super fun, if you are any good with a Frisbee.

20170704_154240

The goal is to get to 21 points and beat your opponent by 2 points. You take turns throwing a Frisbee to your teammate on the other end, and they help you hit it in the top, or on the side for points. If your teammate helps it hit the side its one point, if the thrower hits the Kan on their own its two points, and if your partner hits it in the top its three points. It you throw it in the top or that slot on your own its game over.

That was the end our our super busy weekend! I hope you enjoyed the holiday and the nice weather, I know we did! If you made it to the end of the post, let me know what you all did this weekend, I’d love to hear about it. Thanks for reading! I’ll see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
