Gender Reveal & Playground! (Pics & Vids)

Hey Everyone!

We had a pretty exciting weekend, with a lot going on. I’m proud to say that I took pictures and videos of all of it. Go me! Saturday morning my wife’s went out of town with friends and I took Everett to my brother and sister in-law’s gender reveal. They were announcing the gender of their second child, they already have one girl. It was out at a hunting camp in the woods. Here is Everett holding a pink balloon, I guess we know what his guess was! ๐Ÿ˜€ (Sorry it is a little blury but he was on the move)

1

Everett and his cousin Rory played on the floor while we waited for everyone else to arrive and eat.

2

Here is my brother holding Everett.

3

This one is a funny comparison. Everett, Rory and Pepper the 2 year old Great Dane haha ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ (Both of their Great Danes were there but I only caught the one)

4

On to the more exciting stuff! Here is the box my brother made to reveal the gender. Inside of this box was Tannerite, and on top of the Tannerite was a bag of colored powder. My brother’s goal was to shoot the Tannerite through the box and have it explode the color all over the place. (For those of you unaware of what Tannerite is you will soon find out.)

Here is the video I took. ( I set my phone on a chair and backed up haha, I wasn’t that close) (SOUND ON)

By now you know they are having another girl haha. Here are a few pictures I took after the reveal.

We finished the afternoon up there and had a relaxing evening at home, once my wife was back.

Sunday started like any other, lazy and sleepy. I was trying to get a few games in, before Everett woke from his nap but that didn’t last too long.

5

My wife had him downstairs after that and she sent me this picture haha, that hairdo! ๐Ÿ˜€

6

7

It was nearing 3:30pm and we were experiencing some cabin fever, so we decided to take a walk. It was about 43 degrees F, but the sun was shining.

8

We were going to walk our normal distance, but liked being out in the fresh air after being cooped up all winter. We took Everett, and our dog, about a mile down the road to the local playground. This was his first time at a play ground. He was able to enjoy his first time on a swing. ๐Ÿ˜€

9

This, of course, followed by his first time on a slide! ๐Ÿ˜€

10

He did enjoy both, but wasn’t sure what was going on at first. We had successfully had a play date at the playground!

12

About half way home again the poor little guy was all tuckerd out!

11

We stopped and saw my parents on the way home, since they live a city block away from us, and headed home. We had some home made burgers and beans for dinner and watched a little March Madness before going to bed. Overall it was a very pleasant weekend. We can’t wait to get outside with him more now that he is a little bigger.

That is all for me, I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What A Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was a fun one for me. I didn’t just sit at home the whole time and wish the weather was better.

We were trying to dodge the Flu though, and I think my wife lost that battle. I for one, am still doing fine for the most part. I have a stuffy head, but she is feeling all the aches and pains. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

We can start off of Saturday! I woke up bright and early and got ready, like normal, because….I had a Masonic seminar most of the day. It was about an hour and a half away and my cousin and one other guy were going with. We left our city at about 7am and teh meeting started at 9am. I corresponded with my wife’s grandpa, so I could drop offย  our documents for taxes. Two birds. One stone. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We arrived a bit early, like you should, and signed in. We continued down aย  line of tables and got our folder with information for the day and then the good stuff. Next came the doughnuts and coffee! I had too many doughnuts and that is all I’ll say, but they were good.

The meeting was for people looking to move through the ranks in lodge. It covered everything, in basic form, you would need to run a lodge as a Worshipful Master for a whole year. We were able to asks questions in an open format and have a couple good conversations. There were mentors and District Deputy Grand Masters there from all over the state. So, lots of knowledge there for the picking! These type of events are fun, because you can really get a sense of how big the organization is and how big of an impact they make on the community. For lunch we had some homemade sloppy Joe’s, egg salad sandwiches, veggies, soup, and apple pie. Afterwards we had a presentation of organ donation and blood donations. As a Mason, signed up for the blood club, you are able to ensure that if you ever need blood that we will get it. This is of course after insurance pays for what they can. It also covers your immediate family, so that is very nice to be a part of. We finished up our little lecture and were out of there around 1:30pm. We waited around a bit and my wife’s mom brought over some frozen goods we should have had the weekend we didn’t go back. I guess you can retract my previous statement and say we killed three birds with one stone. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sunday we wanted to get out a little bit since, other than my meeting, we had been cooped up for a while. Everett has gotten over the Flu and we figured some fresh are was much deserved. The weather was somewhat chilly but it felt good to me, with the appropriate attire. So we went for our first walk all winter! We made sure to bundle Everett up as best we could:

6

We were able to sit him up more since he is bigger. He seemed to like being able to see more. I was wondering how much he would remember since developmentally he hadn’t really been on a walk in months. He can now see further and start to understand his surroundings. We also had to stop and take a nice family photo along the way:

1

Everett didn’t seem overly thrilled but I assure you he had a good time. Our dog was with us too but good luck getting her to hold still!

After our walk we watched a movie, which was not particularly good. I would have reviewed it but I am fairly busy at work today. I can tell you it was Spectre, the James Bond flick. I know it is a couple years old, but I can tell you that IMDB.com has it at a 6.8 I would go lower than that. It was very disappointing in my eyes. The story was there but just about everything turned me off from it. Either way it was nice to stop doing everything and watch a movie. The rest of the day my wife edited some pictures, Everett played beside us in the attic, and I was able to get a few games in. Over all it was a good weekend.

Today I am jam packed with things to do. I have to collect a urine sample from our female dog, and get it tested again to make sure her UTI is gone. Then it is off to Everett’s nine month appointment. This is where he will get a ton of shots and be mad at us for a short time haha. By the way….Everett is nine months old, I failed to mention that last Thrusday! Woo!

That is all for me today, I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Hunting & Family Time!

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

As you know I went out hunting on Saturday, and since I didn’t see anything it was a pretty uneventful day haha. I mean I saw some birds and chipmunks but that was it. So I took a a couple pictures of my surroundings and a couple walks around the woods before I went home. This first picture was taken about 6:40-ish in the morning. I thought it was pretty neat that it was naturally this purple. Oh and it is from the stand I was in.

20171202_071622

Here is about the spot an hour later.

20171202_071450

I got out in the woods about 6:30am and crossed the creek to get to the stand I was going to sit at by the time I took that first picture. I sat their most of the morning until I did a big loop around the hill. My brother and dad were out as well so we met up around lunch time at the cabin and ate. After that I went home. I’ll most likely be going back out this coming Saturday as well. My brother’s deer is being processed so he should have the meat back soon.

Sunday was a lounging day for me, but turned into doing some needed tasks. I went to get groceries, alone because I am much faster haha. I still hate doing it, but I hate it more when I have to slowly stroll. This way I can get in and out in about 40 minutes, with everything instead of 2 hours. When I got home I had to take a picture of my boy with his animal book and drool on his chin. ๐Ÿ˜€

20171203_125418

Later that day we decided that we would for the first time feed him his first piece of ‘real’ food. We cut him up a banana and let him go for it.

20171203_13482220171203_135300

Clearly you can tell he is new to this whole eating thing. He didn’t do much more than suck on it, but the taste was still there and I think he liked it. We will now continue to introduce certain foods to him and let him learn on his own how to pick them up and put them in his mouth. I was surprised that he didn’t instantly do that, because anything else he grabs he jams right up there. This will not be his main source of food, we will keep him on breast milk, hopefully, up to a year.

After we got him all cleaned up we took him and the dog for a much needed walk. It had been a month or more since we had gone on one and the weather was sunny and clear. It was a bit chilly so we wrapped up the babe pretty tight. This was also the first time he was front facing in the stroller.

20171203_144042

Those eyes though.

That brings us to today, back at work. :/ I would much rather do something else with my time but this pays the bills and the people are nice. We didn’t end up taking family pictures because our nephew was running a fever and to be safe they didn’t come. I also am pleased to tell you that I got a hair cut and I don’t look like a moron, so that is a plus!

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Where Have I Been! (For Shame)

Hey Everyone!

You may have thought that I fell off the flat parts of the Earth. Even though it seems that way it isn’t the case, I promise!I had every intention to post Thursday and Friday.

Let me explain. As you may know my baby had an ear infection, and my wife and I had head colds. He was already started on his antibiotic and starting to feel better. I was still feeling a bit under the weather. I woke up Thursday feeling worse. I came into work anyway because I didn’t want to take time off and not really have a medical reason. I quickly realized that I couldn’t think full thoughts and even walk in a straight line, without having a shooting pain in my head stopping me in my tracks. I spent the next hour trying to contact my family doctor only to have their line be busy over and over and over again…. Their phone system must have been messed up. I finally made the decision to leave and go to the walk in clinic at the hospital. Of course only to find out that they didn’t open for another hour…. I was clearly not in the right state of mind. When I arrived, at the correct time, I was seen and told that I had a bad sinus infection. At this point it was hurting in my ears and still shooting pains in my head. They sent me a script for some big horse pills. I took the next day, Friday, off as well because I was feeling worse than the day before. I really couldn’t even move the slightest bit without the worst pain I have felt in a long while. By the end of that day I did start feeling better, I wasn’t sure how much better, but it was significant.

I went to bed hoping that I would feel more ‘like normal’ in the morning. That was indeed the case. I woke up still congested but I was able to walk and bend down with out the pain. I was indeed clearing up. Just in time too! My dad and I were signed up for the company men’s outing that day. It started at 8am, but we didn’t go until noon. We were signed up for the horseshoe tourney and the cornhole tourney. I decided that this would be a good test of how I felt and maybe get some fresh air. We stayed and have lunch, dinner and some giveaways. The event was held at the local Amvets gun club. The weather was unbeatable, and the food and company was better. All around it was a great day. Here are just a couple pictures I grabbed.

20170916_12420920170916_12421620170916_13034320170916_182450

Sunday, since I felt like a loser for not pulling my weight, we spent most of the day cleaning and tidying up. Early on we got groceries, which was nice because no one was there at 8:30 am lol.ย  We later went for a walk around the neighborhood. I tried watching the Dallas game, but they had a lightning delay in Denver and then proceeded to get their asses kicked ๐Ÿ˜ฆ It was rough.

Today I am BACK! Back at work, back at blogging, and back to normal.ย  I have some catching up to do here in the office, so my post will be early. Sorry for going dark, but I’m back at it now!

I’ll see you all tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Weekend Round Up & Police!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was pretty interesting. To be honest I can’t really remember what was going on Friday. As for Saturday we just hung out, and relaxed. But Sunday, Sunday was a whole other story! The majority of it was good and productive, the rest was blood boiling. I woke up and did the breakfast thing, and was sick of looking at our unorganized panty. So, I fixed it right up! ๐Ÿ˜€

20170401_165517

I noticed Saturday that we had a bunch of old stale bread and muffins. Once my wife and I were up and about we went to one of the local parks and fed the ducks as you can see here:

20170402_10570820170402_105729

We avoided the geese at all costs because they can be mean haha. The rest of the day was spent getting all of the old plants out of the garden, and staining my two projects. I ran through and got a few wheelbarrows full of dead plants. I started a small fire to burn the scraps and that is when stuff headed south for no reason. I kept seeing my neighbor look over our fence from their deck. Not more than five minutes later her husband, showed up in our driveway and peered over the fence. He told us that we couldn’t burn that stuff and it had to be 25′ from any structure, if it was an open fire. I thanked him for being neighborly and told him that I would go get a portable fireplace from my parents house and that I wouldn’t burn that stuff again. I took the remaining garden stuff to my parents and grabbed the fireplace. I looked up the city laws and saw that I was allowed to have that 15′ from every structure. So I thought everything was well and good. We will be back soon! I started staining the projects that turned out great. Here take a look:

20170402_14140820170402_14143020170402_18393420170402_183940

Mid way through staining the cubbies, the cops showed up at my house. They were called by my damn neighbors about the fire I had. I just had the stuff that was on fire from before smoldering in there because it was already on fire at the point of our conversation. I don’t know why they would have called the police after having a conversation with me about the rules, and having me agree to get the portable fireplace, and not burn that stuff again. WTF! I thought they were being good neighbors and giving me a heads up, yet they still called the damn cops. Anyway I showed the cops that I was only burning scraps and they told me that in the future I could only burn wood in the portable fireplace. They gave me a paper with the city laws on it, which I had looked up before they got there, and left. I hope these neighbors know they burned a pretty good bridge with me and my family. I am not going to lash out or seek revenge. I will just follow the laws and be good. I won’t stoop to their level. I will not however, help them with anything they need at any time.

We put the remaining smoldering scraps out and filled the fireplace with ashes and tiles from the old spot that was too close to the garage. I took it to my parents house and dumped it. Once I got home I finished the cubbies. So with that being said we got a lot done, but had to deal with some pretty stupid shit! Internally I am angry and still annoyed but hopefully writing and sharing it with you all will help me let it go.

I’m here at work again, and had a few things going on this morning but all in all it has been a good start to the week. I think when I get home I am going to rack my Apple Jack and try to get it to clear up before freezing it.

That is all from me today! I hope you had a good weekend. Feel free to share what you did this weekend in the comments below! I’ll see you all again tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Welcome Back

Hey Everyone!

Sooo a little embarrassing, but I forgot it was even Labor Day weekend until about one hour before I left work on Friday. I mean, don’t get me wrong I was a big fan of finding this out, but I should have known. Partly because I have a huge calendar on my desk lol.

Anyway, as you know I had my last softball tournament of the season on Saturday. We came in 3rd place this year in the annual one pitch tournament. We ended up playing five games that day, so we were hot and tired. Over all it was a fun day, of course there was some controversy over the rules. This tournament has always been known as the tournament that seems to be thrown together in a weekend. No one is organized and the bracket changes two or three times the day of the tournament. The umpires don’t know the rules, even though they are there every year. It is a really weird tournament. Trust me on that, it’s hard to explain. Again, it was fun though.

Sunday I was pretty spent. My wife and I took our dog down town for the first time. We walked around town and played Ingress for a couple hours. It was another nice day, so we weren’t going to waste it. Later that night my brother and his fiance came over and we all ordered Chinese and hung out.

That brings me to Labor Day. We didn’t have much of a plan that day, but we did know we had a cookout at 1pm. In the morning we slept in a it. Once we got up we did some house work and got caught up on all the stuff we didn’t do the rest of the weekend. My brother and dad went to his land. I was going to go but My body still hurt from softball, and I didn’t want to wake up dragging today for work. We had a nice time in my parents backyard all afternoon. After we ate we took the dogs to the creek. My dog cannot be trusted to stay in one area so she needs to e on a leash. I wanted to try something different to give her an opportunity to feel like she was running free even though she wasn’t. We tied a 50+ ft rope to her harness and let her run and swim all over the creek. She was able to play with my brother’s Great Dane and not even feel like she was restricted. By the way she is a Norwegian Elk-hound. (This picture is two years old but she looks the same)

bailey

On a different note I will soon be getting a hold of my wife to see if the bank sent the preapproval letter for a house. We are looking to see how much we can afford. Last night we made up a mock budget using existing Excel templates. We over estimated the cost of all the bills to really give us a safe idea of what we can afford for a mortgage. We hope to be in a house before the end of the year, fingers crossed.

That is all for my weekend, I hope you all had a great one! I’ll see you tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
