What a Great Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We have made it back to Monday. I did not want to get out of bed this morning. The morning temperature is perfect for sleeping all day. I made it to work and have been busy all day! I haven’t sat down until lunch. I’m kind of exhausted. :/

This weekend was fun! Saturday my sister in-law came in to town to hand out with her sister, and it was my mother’s 62nd birthday! There were 9 adults and 3 kids at dinner, thats quite a bit. Everett was dancing to the juke box the whole time we were there.

After that we headed to my parents house and had brownies and ice cream.

Sunday morning we got up and had some breakfast and hung out in the living room, before my wife’s sister left.

My wife wanted to edit some pictures, since we took some family ones the night before. Everett had other plans.

We decided that it was a beautiful day and that we were going for a bike ride. Here was Everett’s riding outfit!

We went down to the local bike and hike trail and rode most of it and back to the house. I’m guessing that it was about a 4 to 5 mile ride. It was perfect weather for it.

Later that evening we accompanied my wife while she took some senior pictures for a girl that came from over an hour away. I took a couple behind the scenes shot for her.

Everett and I were playing with the rocks and in the grass while she was busy. Here is looks super cute trying to come down the hill.

He had a less than graceful way of getting down said hill…as you can see.

Annnnnd that was my weekend! I hope you had a great one as well. I’ll see you back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Hey Everyone!

I’m a bit late today, but had a few things to tie up before I could hop on here. There hasn’t been anything too exciting from the last time I posted so this will be pretty short.

Everett was having a terrible day yesterday, and we really aren’t sure why. He was really screaming, like not a baby fake cry. It was getting kind of scary for a bit. He has been teething quite a bit, but never had any fever. We weren’t sure if he had a stomach ache or what but it wasn’t good. It was pretty non stop, we let him have some Tylenol and that didn’t seem to stop any type of pain that he was feeling. We finally laid him down to bed early hoping that he would just pass out. Good news was that he did. πŸ˜€ He woke up feeling much better from what I could tell.

Since I don’t have a bunch of content for today, I’ll share some videos that I have been watching lately. I have been on a language and voice kick for about a week and I’m more into it than I though I would be. Here is one on fictional languages from film and TV:

The rest are from Sam Johnson who is a voice teacher. He analyzes singing voices.

These should keep your interest peaked for a bit, I hope!

That is all from me today, I hope you all have a great Tuesday! I just found out that we are going to Olive Garden for dinner so my day got a bit better haha. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Around The Water Cooler!

Hey Everyone!

Last night we ran to the store, and ended up picking up some slippers for Everett. They are too cute not to share so here we go!

That was last night as well as him climbing on his Diaper box and dancing to the theme from Gilmore Girls.

This morning he was still loving them.

I hope my boy can brighten your Friday! I hope to see you back again Tuesday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Middle Ground!

Hey Everyone!

I want to take this time to spotlight something I have been hooked on lately. As most of you know I watch a lot of YouTube. I have seen the Jubilee channel before and have watched some of their videos, and to be honest wasn’t that impressed. I have now found their series called Middle Ground. Look this up if you want to see some real talk, on many topics. They take two sets of people, put them in a small group. They have questions asked one at a time and chose to agree or disagree to each. They each have time to speak and converse about the topic. It is a small enough group that nothing gets out of control. It really is a great series, if you are curious at all please check it out. Here are some of the ones I have seen and enjoy.

(There is minimal arguing, and more coming together than you would think.)

There are plenty of topics discussed and it is fun to see both sides of any one particular issue.

I hope you enjoy this post and check these out! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Gender Reveal & Playground! (Pics & Vids)

Hey Everyone!

We had a pretty exciting weekend, with a lot going on. I’m proud to say that I took pictures and videos of all of it. Go me! Saturday morning my wife’s went out of town with friends and I took Everett to my brother and sister in-law’s gender reveal. They were announcing the gender of their second child, they already have one girl. It was out at a hunting camp in the woods. Here is Everett holding a pink balloon, I guess we know what his guess was! πŸ˜€ (Sorry it is a little blury but he was on the move)

Everett and his cousin Rory played on the floor while we waited for everyone else to arrive and eat.

Here is my brother holding Everett.

This one is a funny comparison. Everett, Rory and Pepper the 2 year old Great Dane haha πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ (Both of their Great Danes were there but I only caught the one)

On to the more exciting stuff! Here is the box my brother made to reveal the gender. Inside of this box was Tannerite, and on top of the Tannerite was a bag of colored powder. My brother’s goal was to shoot the Tannerite through the box and have it explode the color all over the place. (For those of you unaware of what Tannerite is you will soon find out.)

Here is the video I took. ( I set my phone on a chair and backed up haha, I wasn’t that close) (SOUND ON)

By now you know they are having another girl haha. Here are a few pictures I took after the reveal.

We set Rory up on the stump, she’s a cutie!

We finished the afternoon up there and had a relaxing evening at home, once my wife was back.

Sunday started like any other, lazy and sleepy. I was trying to get a few games in, before Everett woke from his nap but that didn’t last too long.

My wife had him downstairs after that and she sent me this picture haha, that hairdo! πŸ˜€

It was nearing 3:30pm and we were experiencing some cabin fever, so we decided to take a walk. It was about 43 degrees F, but the sun was shining.

We were going to walk our normal distance, but liked being out in the fresh air after being cooped up all winter. We took Everett, and our dog, about a mile down the road to the local playground. This was his first time at a play ground. He was able to enjoy his first time on a swing. πŸ˜€

This, of course, followed by his first time on a slide! πŸ˜€

He did enjoy both, but wasn’t sure what was going on at first. We had successfully had a play date at the playground!

About half way home again the poor little guy was all tuckerd out!

We stopped and saw my parents on the way home, since they live a city block away from us, and headed home. We had some home made burgers and beans for dinner and watched a little March Madness before going to bed. Overall it was a very pleasant weekend. We can’t wait to get outside with him more now that he is a little bigger.

That is all for me, I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Who Are Your Favorite YouTube Creators?

Hey Everyone!

As nothing exciting went on last night I thought it would be neat to see what creators, if any, you watch on YouTube. With the way of the internet being a daily mainstream medium for people to receive everything from news/entertainment to shopping and social media, I wonder who your go to creators are.

If you get your news or entertainment else where let me know that too! I get most of my news and entertainment from YouTube, as it is a huge platform. I will have links to every channel that I mention if you would like to check them out! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

By far my favorite YouTuber is Philip DeFranco. I have followed him for about 10 years now, and he has continued to grow in his field as I have grown into adulthood. He puts out a daily news segment, a weekly round up on Fridays, and has a whole separate channel for his staff. That second channel is under PhillyD, his staff is amazing and that channel is all for good times and laughs.

I also love watching people who modify cars. There is a channel called Mighty Car Mods, and they are a duo from Australia. Marty and Moog buy old beaters and modify them for track use and all sorts of nonsense. Plus they sound cool haha.

Since I play Rocket League all the time, I like to find a creator that puts out fun content of game play as well as game news and update stats. I have hit the jack pot with this and watch Jon Sandman. He is friends with pro players, plays modded maps, keeps up to date with news, does crate battles, trade up videos, and has a great personality. He also just became a dad and bought a house!

I watch Joe Robinet, and Mike from MCQ Bushcraft for all of my camping/bushcrafting information. They both teach classes as well as do over night camps, build shelters, and do other, longer camp videos like week long canoe trips.

For cooking related I watch the one and only Binging with Babish. He recreates meals shown in TV shows and movies, as well as a series on basic cooking techniques. He does it all from his little apartment in the big city and he has a voice that keeps you coming back for more.

To round it out and keep my post short-ish, for tech news and what not I watch Linus Tech Tips, Tech Quickie, Carl Oliver, and Eli The Computer Guy.

I hope you take the time to visit these channels if any of them interest you. Please comment below telling me who you like and watch daily. Maybe we can exchange our favorites and get each other hooked! πŸ˜€ Have a good day! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Today is Halloween!

Here is some mood setting “door music.” (In case you need some and don’t haven any!)

Tiny bit of history.

To get spooky, here is a list of the “Top 10 Scariest Horror Movie Villains.”

If scary isn’t your thing, here are the “Top 10 Family Friendly Halloween Movies.”

To round it all out here is a video of “7 Halloween Traditions from Around the World.”

Lastly if you are going out or staying in remember to be safe, and responsible. The last thing anyone wants on a fun holiday is something bad to happen, use your heads! πŸ˜€

Weekend Fun!

Hey Everyone!

Today is a little off for my family. We all have head colds, and yes that includes our little babe.  😦

We did come off of a pretty good weekend though. Saturday we went to the Wild Wind craft festival. The Tamarack Center has my favorite exhibit. They are a rehabilitation center for wild animals of all kinds.

They have all kinds of hawks, owls, eagles, and other animals. They get calls and go pick up these animals and nurse them back to health before releasing them back into the wild.

Some animals will never be able to return to the wild but they raise them all the same. The rest of the exhibits were in the barns that are usually full of animals for the fair. There were about 10 barns full of handmade crafts, it is pretty amazing.

We had to take a foo break with the little one. πŸ˜€

Then it was back at it, with more to see!

My wife’s favorite thing at this festival is a place called Holiday Confections. They make candy apples, iced coffee, and other candies.

Here she is picking her poison this year.

Another cool stop is The Hit-N-Miss Ice Cream Co. They have an old engine churning their ice cream.

Here it is in action:

Sunday we had my niece’s 1st birthday party. We had the chance to see a few family members that we don’t usually get to see. They rented a pavilion and set up shop. It was a great day for it, not too hot and not too cold. Here she is opening some presents.

One of Rory’s great aunts, I believe, made these cookies for her! On the plus side they were delicious.

A friend of my sister in-law made her this little cake!

Then it was time for her to have her first taste of cake.

The rest of Sunday was spent hanging out for a bit, and sadly letting the sickness sink in. We are all congested and he is taking it the hardest, because he is a wee baby. I made him his own little spot to sit up like a big boy.

That was the best he looked. He soon got puffy red eyes, with gunk in them. He was coughing, and couldn’t breath out his nose too well. Later the Cowboys played so I had to stay up for their opener. They beat the Giants 19-3 and that is a huge win for them. Last year they were the only team to beat us in the regular season.

It’s a bad picture but it is just there to get the message across haha. We had aΒ  terrible nights sleep, and are dead dog tired today. This all of course on top of feeling like crap. Everett has an appointment with the doctor at 1 and I am going to take the afternoon off to rest myself. That is all from me today. I hope you all had a great weekend! I’ll see you all tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What’s Weird In The World Today?

Hey Everyone!

I have seen some weird things in the new lately and feel the need to share some of the stories with you! All too often we hear about the terrible things going on in the world. We tend to lose sight of the good news, as well as the weird/strange news. That is where today’s post comes in. I’m here today to help fill that void by offering up some links to some interesting news stories around the world.

Lets get started!

-Martha has won the crown of “World’s Ugliest Dog 2017.” I must say I don’t think she is very ugly, but she sure had a great time. She was rewarded with a large trophy and $1,500! Congrats Martha! πŸ˜€

-In Oregon on July 13th A vehicle was slimed! That’s right slimed, don’t believe me check it out riiiiiight……….HERE!

-This calf was born in Kerrville, Texas on the Ranch There seems to be a very striking resemblance to the Kiss front man Gene Simmons!

-May 13th of this year Verdun Hayes became the oldest skydiver in history. He is 101 years old. He was quoted after saying β€œBeautiful” , β€œI’d do it again tomorrow. I would, truthfully. It’s lovely.”

I hope this light hearted post has kept your interest. I enjoy finding these types of stories, about as much as I like sharing them. I’ll be back tomorrow, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Chester Bennington 1976-2017

Hey Everyone!

I was going to figure out how to write some stuff about my day today, but it is more fitting to speak about the death of Chester Bennington. For those of you who don’t know Chester, he is/was the lead vocals for the band Linkin Park. They have been a huge influence on my musical taste throughout the years. Simply it is sad and unexpected.

It has been noted that Chester did struggle with drugs and alcohol. Chester was found in his home yesterday at nine in the morning. He had hung hung himself. He left behind a wife and six children from two marriages.

I am very open about my thoughts on suicide, and every time I reevaluate it its still the same. I don’t believe anyone should commit suicide, ever. That is my opinion and I understand that people feel differently. Again, that is ok as well, not everyone thinks the same. I do understand that people all go through things differently, are afraid to show weakness and get any sort of help, or simply get in so deep they think they don’t have any other options. I understand why people commit suicide, that’s not what I have an issue with. IΒ  have an issue with the stigma of being weak for seeking help. I have a problem with the systems in place. I have a real problem with the way people are treated in general in this world. Those are my biggest issues regarding suicide as a ‘topic’ of discussion. I can’t help but think, if there is a different world, there isn’t even a word for suicide, because it doesn’t happen. A guy can dream can’t he?

You know when you see people in the lime light die for any reason, and you shrug it off? Then there are times when you really get hit hard by it? This is one of those occasion for me. Chester and Linkin Park have been a huge influence on millions of people, on many different levels. I hope they know the impact they have had on so many lives. He will be sorely missed. I wish this all played out differently.

I never knew the band as Xero, their old name, but I did know of them as Linking park from day one. Hybrid Theory is still one of my favorite albums to this day.Β  That came out in the year 2000. I was in middle school at the time and like any child, I was impressionable. They came out very edgy and relateable. As I grew up so did they. Their musical style changed with the changes of the world. They played what they loved, and didn’t lock themselves in a single genre. While I don’t love all of their newer stuff like I did when I was younger, I can appreciate it!

For those of you who wish to watch a few of my favorite Linkin Park videos I’ll post them below:

(2003) (Numb was 2003, the Collision Course was a mash up in 2004) AMAZING!

(2017) See what I mean by an evolutionary group!?

That’s just a few. You can really see their range throughout the years! It is incredible. Again, gone too soon, no matter the reason, too soon……….
