Around The Water Cooler!

Hey Everyone!

Its Friday! Thank goodness, I’m ready for the weekend. I never got around to cutting the grass last night, so I’ll have to do that tonight.

Another thing I’m going to to tonight is go hit a bucket of golf balls with my co-worker. He wanted to anyway and since I’m play tomorrow as well he invited me along. I can use all of the help I can get.Β  πŸ˜€

Everett is obsessed with putting things away, and in containers lately. It is really kind of helpful and funny at the same time. For instance, he will walk over and put his dirty diaper in the correct trash bin, all we have to do is open and close it. He will also hold and put the dog food scooper back in the food bin when I am done feeding the dog. On the other hand he stacks his food on his sippy cups, and puts his shoes in the cabinets.

1

So either way its awesome! He cracks us up every single day.

He has just, in the last couple of days started to spin. You know how most babies will kind of waddle around in a large circle to turn around or just fall down and twist around? He was doing that too, but has now found enough balance to spin right around. He does it constantly and gets dizzy half the time. It makes him laugh to turn that fast.

Today I got a text from my wife about Everett being Everett. He is all over and into everything. Today she caught him crawling up and standing on his train.

2

For what reason? I have no idea, probably just to see if he could. He is at the stage where he will be climbing on everything and getting up the stairs and everything. He is more mobile everyday. We have a second room in our attic that we want to turn into a library of sorts, and my wife had the idea to turn it into a play area for him. While she is working in the other room he can be in there playing with free reign to go between the two rooms. All we need it to clean that room up a bit and get a gate for the top of the stairs and we would be in business. I really wish I had the money now to get a contractor in there and build those book shelves. Oh well, some day I hope. πŸ˜€

That is it for me today! I’ll be golfing tomorrow, and being lazy Sunday! I hope you have a great weekend, and I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Industrial Softball Tournament!

Hey Everyone!

This was a great weekend, spent with family down at the ball park. We started off Friday night with a game at 8:30pm. We won that game by one point, keeping us in the winners bracket for the next day.

Saturday we started bright and early with a game at 9:15am. We promptly lost that game in the wet conditions, and weren’t feeling the best at that point. The next game couldn’t have been a more fun match up, because we played our other company team! We beat them pretty convincingly, but it was fun all the same. Now up until this point I hadn’t hit the ball very well. I was 3 for 11, which is terrible for me. I was in my own head and needed to snap out of that. Everett was my official bat boy all weekend!

312

He really wouldn’t let that thing go haha. Later Saturday we played one last team. We beat them by 26 points and we were ready to play again Sunday morning. I hit really well that game and the rest of the tournament. What was interesting, was that my brother’s team lost and now had to play us in that game. We got there and the nerves were there. I knew their team was good, and I knew we had to hit well to win. In short we did. We won the game by a few runs, and secured a 3rd place finish.

Next on the agenda was the team that beat us before. We again had to show up and play the way we did the two games before. We did fall short yet again and lost to the same team twice. :/ we really wanted to beat these guys and didn’t get to. It just wasn’t happening, we had too many mistakes in the field and gave up too many runs. As far as my hitting went the last three games I went 11 for 11 with three home runs. That brings my overall stats for the weekend at 14 for 22 with three home runs. That is much better than what it was looking like at the start. We did spend the rest of the day watching that team lose terribly to the team that won it all, and that was fun! πŸ˜€Β  Everett was just chilling in his cousins little chair.

67

Watching the games and having a bottle haha. πŸ˜€

We finally got together and had a family picture. My brother changed his shirt to root for us when he got back to the fields. My dad was on the other company team, and Everett and I.

5

And finally, my main man and I holding the third place trophy! πŸ˜€

4

That was a great way to spend the weekend. It was full of family fun, and great food. There were highs and lows but at the end of the weekend we were all proud of what we accomplished. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Monday Photo Dump!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the start of the week! We did quite a bit this weekend. Friday we went to Pizza Hut with my parents for dinner and Everett was being a normal goofball.

321

Saturday morning we headed back to the cabin. We are hoping to have the beds in before the start of the hunting season. We added stairs to the front and added boards to the ceiling. Some of the wall pieces are missing, because they are all pieces we have to cut to a custom size.

05

This area will be the bed room, with bunks on the right and left.

6789

This next one is looking from the kitchen area to the bedroom. We have that half wall up to divide the room.

4.jpg

While I was at camp my wife’s two friends came into town. One of them has a little three month old. We got ready and went to the county fair for a few hours.

Next is a must have golf cart. Just sayin. πŸ˜€

181920

Towards the end we lowered Everett’s stroller and he passed right out!

21

Sunday we went out to visit my wife’s dad. He has been in a nursing home for a little bit now. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a while ago and can no longer live on his own. It is pretty sad because he isn’t very old. He remembers us and Everett and loves holding him.

22

We were able to meet with his wife and their kid Remi and take him to the courtyard. The kids ran around like crazy.

232425

The lady in the wheelchair is Lois. She has sort of been watching over my wife’s dad while people aren’t around. She came out with us and loved seeing the boys.

26

Everett and Uncle Remi are playing here with some cars on the little bench.

27

Later to round out the day and make the most out of it we met with her grandparents and brother’s family for lunch. It was at a very nice golf course in the area. They have great food and service.

28

If you have your volume on you can hear Everett slurp up his noodles haha. if you look close you can even see his top teeth! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Once we got home, we got in our comfy clothes and watched some New Girl. Everett has been looking though his legs so my wife was doing it too and he was laughing hysterically.

29

That was our weekend! We did a lot and it was, like always, worth it. I hope you had a great weekend too! I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Back To Work!

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday was fun but now it is back to work for two days. I’m not really sure how I feel about it. It isn’t the end of the world and most people have called the rest of the week off, just because they can. So it’s a bit slow here anyway. I have had to replace some terminals in the shop, and let me tell you it is hot out there. From the moment I walked out onto the shop floor I have beads of sweat running down my back. It is awful.

Anyway. The parade was a blast. It rained for about 10 minutes then got nice out again, it was sort of refreshing. We sat where we always have, that way people can find us. My wife’s sister came down as well as my aunts and uncles.

1.jpg

This is the only real picture I took at the parade. That is my cousins wife Cassie and their new baby Cohen. He just woke up from a nap and they realized there were other little people there haha.

After the parade we had a great time at my parents. We grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausage. My cousins, brothers, and I played a few games of Kan Jam and beat the heat in the shade of a large trees in their yard.

The hardest part of the day, for me, was trying to stay awake long enough to go watch the fireworks. My wife and Everett opted to stay home and sleep, since it was a Wednesday after all. I fought the urge to sleep and lazily made my way to my older brothers house where we watched the fireworks, in kayaks, on the pond.

234567891011

I was instructed by a Google search to use the Pro setting on my phone camera to get the best results, for firework photography haha. I set the ISO low, and some other crap, and I think they turned out pretty ok. πŸ˜‰

Then it was off to bed, only to be woken up at 4am to a screaming baby. the poor guy was hungry, and cranky. He stayed in bed with my wife while I got ready for the day, then I fed him some breakfast and took him to daycare for the second to last time. His last day is tomorrow and it is a bit bitter sweet.

That is all from me today, I hope you all had a great 4th of July! πŸ˜€ I’ll be back tomorrow morning with any luck, for a ‘Coffee Talk.’ Hope to see you then. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Tuesday, More Like Friday #1

Hey Everyone!

Today is July 3rd, and that means tomorrow is the 4th! It is America’s Independence Day. This is one of my favorite holidays. It may not seem like a lot, but when you do everything we do it really is a nice time in nice weather and what better can you ask for?

This time tomorrow we will have just finished watching the parade that spans over 2 miles through my town. We will be headed over to my parent’s house along with about 20 others, for a nice cookout, some Frisbee, and Cornhole! Later that evening we will be heading over to my brother’s house to watch some fireworks on the pond. It is the best way to watch. When you are floating on the water you get to see the fireworks and their reflection, it really is awesome!

Last night we were determined to catch Everett walking on video and we, kinda did haha. Check it out!

It is quick but it counts! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ We wanted to catch it early so that we can look back on it and see where he started. He clearly isn’t the best haha, but he is getting better everyday! He will be running around in no time, then we are really in trouble.

I won’t have a post out tomorrow, but I will be back again Thursday! I hope to see you then. Have a happy and safe 4th! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Laid To Rest!

Hey Everyone!

We can start with sad news first, so that hopefully we can end on a better note. In short my parents had to put down one of their dogs today. 😦 😦 His name was Dakota and he was a bit of a mutt. He was ten years old and we had him since he was a wee little baby. He and his brothers and sisters were left at my dad’s friends house. One night my dad and brother, I believe, went up there and came home with a puppy. I had already been off to college at that point but he quickly became a part of all of our lives. He was a weird dog, that isn’t an understatement. He was weird about only eating his food when my mom was around. He was weird in that he would never look you in the eye. At times he seemed a bit unstable, but in a house with four other pets, I can understand. He was happy, and loved going down to the creek, and out to our camp. He was excited to hop in the car and ride then laid down exhausted on the ride home. That’s how you know it was a good day. He was a good boy, and will be missed terribly.

What happened was, he quit eating. It was out of nowhere and weird, much like him, so my parents tried different food. they tried hard foods, and soft foods, and even people food. He wouldn’t even drink his water at times. :/ His condition seemed to stay the same, and they wanted some answers. I believe they took him to the vet on Monday. After running some tests, and taking some x-rays they determined that he had a tumor and that it was leaking blood into his abdomen. Wanting to know more they drove a ways and saw a more tech savvy vet. There were able to determine what we all feared most. He had a cancerous tumor on his liver and spleen, that was indeed leaking into his abdomen. 😦 Since he was losing that blood he became anemic, and since it is on his liver it is inoperable. There were told even if it was operable that it would cost around $6000 to do the surgery. This morning he was put down, and will be buried in the back yard of my parent’s house, probably beside our other two dogs.

Dakota…

Well now that I want to cry…Lets add a bit of humor to cheer things up! I heard today on the news that a squirrel in Alaska stole a cops donut lol. XD

My wife is still away today doing training for her new job. She will be home later this evening. She is very stressed and nervous about the change, since its a ‘no going back’ situation. We will be pulling Everett from daycare, and she is taking a pay cut to be home. If it doesn’t work out we are in some serious trouble. That is weighing on her pretty heavy today. I have the most amount of faith in her and her ability to grow and learn this new job, even if she doesn’t. I see what shes does every day, in and out, and there isn’t anything that she can’t handle! I hope she finds the path that she needs to and gets in the right mindset sooner than later, so she can thrive. I know she will do great work! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

That is all for me today. I hope you have a great Wednesday and I’ll see you all back here again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I missed posting yesterday, due to that darn UPS project again. I promise I’m not forgetting you! πŸ˜€

The idea of having a ‘Coffee Talk’ seems weird to me today, because my stomach is doing flips and I can’t really drink it. I feel like it wouldn’t sit well. We had a rough night last night. My wife was waking up out of a dead sleep and throwing up, Everett woke up with a bit of a cough, and now I’m feeling a bit weird in my stomach as well. I haven’t thrown up yet, and I’m not fully sure I will. I hope not because I’m at work, and how embarrassing would that be? πŸ˜€ Either way, I have a coffee poured I just haven’t been able to drink it.

We were supposed to go back to the water park this Saturday but that may not be happening now. :/ Oh well, our health is more important. Speaking briefly about my UPS project, I only have one more piece to the puzzle to be done with it! It is also the hardest and most important piece, but only one still. I still hope to be done with it by the end of June, that is my overall goal.

Everett has been clapping, which I’ve shown you before, he has been waving (using his whole arm), and now he is getting pretty good at picking up his bottles and sippy cups and drinking on his own.

He has also been mimicking movement pretty well. My wife was pushing and pulling a toy of his and he went right over and did the same thing. It is pretty neat.

That is all I have for you today, I hope we all feel better soon. I’ll hopefully be back Monday, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

We have had a bit of a roller coaster the past couple days.

Everett has had a fever since we got home from vacation. He woke up Wednesday night out of a dead sleep and threw up in his crib. He did that twice and continued to do it all morning. I chose to stay home with him yesterday and take him to the pediatrician. They didn’t find anything, which is good because it isn’t anything terrible. They think it is just something viral and should go away soon. He is home again today with my mom, and he did much better last night, so we hope he is coming out of it all.

In more happy news he just randomly started clapping the other day.

He is a smart boy! He is learning everyday, and we want to keep that up. I am back at work today getting caught up on all the things I missed. If you remember the UPS upgrade I was working on, I am deploying those PCs today, with any luck. The hard part will be decommissioning the old one and moving the database to the new PCs the right way. Fingers crossed! haha.

Do you all have anything fun planned for this weekend?

Thank you for hanging in there with me while my life gets sorted haha. πŸ˜€ I hope you all have a great weekend, with great weather. I’ll be back Monday, I hope to see you then. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I’m Back!

Hey Everyone!

I have been gone for a week and it feels like an eternity!

I’m really not even sure where to start, or what you guys want to see? For those of you who may not know, my little family and I drove from Pennsylvania to Colorado last weekend. We drove back this weekend. It is a 22 hour drive and took us two days each way. We were able to stop along the way in/around Des Monies Iowa to rest for the night both ways.

While we were in Colorado we stayed in Aurora. It was mainly on two major highways and that was that. What was nice was that we could go North or South at our leisure. We bounced around from Boulder to Colorado Springs, to Denver. Depending of the weather that day and the family that we could meet up with.

The first full day we were there it was rainy and crappy so we went to the Morrison Natural History Museu.

20180528_174032.jpg

This place was really neat, they had real live dino nerds give you a tour of everything. Most things there were found right in Colorado. While we were on our tour there was a giant storm and some hail. Thank goodness we were inside!

20180528_184842.jpg

The next day we headed to Colorado Springs where we took a trolley though Garden of the Gods, and drove up the over 14,000 ft Pikes Peak!

20180529_175150.jpg20180529_183026.jpg

It was pretty exhilerating driving up Pikes Peak. Once we were at the top we did feel dizzy due to the altitude, but we snagged some great pictures while we could. We also had some fresh doughnuts while we were up there.

I believe Wednesday we took the whole day and went to the Denver Zoo! It was so much fun. Everett had never been to a zoo before, and this one and the other are both on the top 10 best zoos in America.

This zoo was really cool and freaking huge! We ended it with a Peacock and ice cream. If you are wondering what his shirt says its: “I flexed so hard the sleeves came off” haha. πŸ˜€

Lets see….hmmm.. what did we do Thursday? Ah that’s right. We went to the Pearlt Street Mall in Boulder! It was about 5 city blocks of a walking mall. The weather was great and we did some shopping. πŸ˜€

20180531_14002520180531_13593720180531_135950

This place was beautiful and full of people and neat shops. πŸ˜€

20180531_141730

My personal favorite spot was this store that was dedicated to honey! They had all sorts of kinds to try, and even sold Meade.

20180531_15073020180531_15083220180531_16013720180531_163845

Everett was not a fan of these water things haha. he didn’t make a single face other than that one haha. πŸ˜€ Later that day we met up with my wife’s uncle for dinner in Longmont.

Friday we met up with my cousin in Colorado Springs, where she cooked us an amazing breakfast. We hung out there with her and her three little kiddos for a bit before heading to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! You guessed it! It is on a mountain.

20180601_133639

At the zoo they donate $0.75 per each visitor to help wildlife. We got to drop them in this thing to pick and choose the cause we helped. It is a great idea.

20180601_142612

These misters should be in every zoo haha. They saved the day! πŸ˜€

I had to take a selfie with a Giraffe, we were able to feed and pet them so we became friends fast. πŸ˜€

The whole week we had great food! We ate all over and never the same place twice. Most places we had never been to before. We ate at a steakhouse, IHOP, Bean Sprouts, BJs brewery, EdelweissΒ  (German), At both zoos, Bent Fork, Boulder Beer, and lastly a Joe’s Crab Shack.

Food Overload Below!

We Started the drive home Saturday a bit late on purpose, because part way through we met up with another photographer from a Facebook group that my wife is in. She and this other girl swapped family photo sessions. It was really neat. We met them in some park in Omaha Nebraska. We changed into nice clothes in the parking lot haha. I don’t have any of those pictures yet because neither of them have edited them yet, but I’ll share when I have a chance too! πŸ˜€

We stopped in Atlantic Iowa for the night, around 9:30pm. We only got to ‘sleep’ for a couple hours before Everett was screaming his head off, so we left Sunday morning around 3:45am….We drove until we got home around 7:30pm. That was a long day, I’m sure you could guess haha. We made it. It was a blast. We will cherish those memories forever!

Thank you for reading though this huge post. I’m still super tired and surprised I made it into work today! I hope to see you all again tomorrow! (I’ve missed you) πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk (Incident)

Hey Everyone!

Good Morning. I hope you all have had a bit of caffeine already! πŸ˜€

I’d like to talk about what was going on around us last night. It was pretty scary, and had the potential to be more dangerous than it was.

My wife, small child, and I were just hanging out in our living room when she noticed that there was a Sheriff’s truck with its lights on no more than three houses up from us, across the street. At this point it could be anything, really, so we didn’t worry about it. Once this started going on we knew something else was up:

There were about 5 local police cars there, as well as the Sheriff, and an EMS vehicle. The officers and deputies were carrying their side arms, shotgun, and/or a semi-auto rifle. By the time that we went out to see what was going on the whole ordeal was over, as far as public safety is concerned.

2

1

You can see that the guy towards the left is in handcuff and was escorted to the hospital for an evaluation before heading else where. Thank you scanner app on my phone for those details haha.

We caught wind that what happened was the guy in handcuffs, is the son to the lady in the light gray house. He broke into her safe and was going to kill himself. I’m not sure who alerted the authorities, but they did it quick and nothing happened. There were teens next door who were told to seek shelter before things quieted down.

This brings up plenty of concerns for citizens in this area. I’m not going to get political in this post, about guns, at all, because that isn’t the cause of these events it is the reaction. The real matter with this incident is that he was not in the right state of mind, and clearly needed/needs some help. I really hope that he does get the help he needs in any capacity and that he can live a long healthier life than, quite possibly, his lowest point as of yesterday.

We are in a very quiet area, with not a ton of crime near us, but raising a family in a world that seems to be falling apart is scary and this was just a reminder of that.

I just wanted to highlight what went on yesterday, since this is a daily blog. I’m not really meaning to make any statements, but rather just reflect on an event that occurred very close to us last night.

I hope you all are having a great Friday, I know I am! I hope to see you all back again Monday. Have a great weekend! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
