Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

A little later than I thought I would be. Generally Friday’s are slow for everyone here, but that isn’t the case today! My co worker is retiring, and the other two aren’t here. I have been fielding things all morning long. I have already worked on both of our conference rooms for different reasons, fixed up a company laptop, answered some shipping emails, and worked on an email signature for one employee. I’m a fan of getting things done so I jumped on all of those and got them done.

Anyway! It’s Friday, and I’m loving it. The weather here is supposed to be hot and sunny. After work today I’m going to pick up Everett from daycare, head home, fill up the inflatable pool we bought, fill it, clean the car, then jump in the full pool! Everett has some floaties that we want to try out and those plastic kiddie pools suck, lets be honest, so I bought a bigger one. ๐Ÿ˜€

We are supposed to be in a ‘heatwave’ for the next week here with temperature soaring above 90 degrees for multiple days. To top it all off it gets humid here, so it is no fun at all. I’ll probably die playing softball this weekend. Saturday we are heading back to camp for the diaper party my brother is having. It’ll be nice to spend some time in the woods. I haven’t been able to as much as I would have liked so far, so this will be refreshing. ๐Ÿ˜€

What are your go to hot summer day activities? Do you grab some of your favorite ice cream, hope in a pool, relax indoors with some A/C? Let me know in the comments below!

Other than that I’ll leave it short and sweet today! Go enjoy the nice weekend, when you can, and remember to be safe. Wear that sunscreen and drink a ton of water! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Talk

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful morning. I remembered to write this post so that instantly puts me in a decent mood haha. I have one cup of coffee under my belt, or in my stomach for you literal types, and I’m ready to go.

While having coffee it is imperative that you talk about the weather. Out weather went from -15 to + 50 in one day. It is insane. We had more than a foot of snow and over the course of two warm days it is all gone. Here is the kicker, tonight and over the weekend we are getting another foot of snow, DOH! Make up your mind mother nature. I’m hoping your weather trends are less harsh.

On a Friday whilst drinking coffee with your friend you are also obligated to talk about any plans you may have for the weekend. I’m fairly certain that some one on my mom’s side of the family is getting married and we said we would go. We don’t see them often, probably for good reason, but it is nice to get a dose of them here and there haha. I think most of you can relate to something similar.

Lastly, if you have a family of your own you have to catch the other person up on what has transpired since you last spoke. In this case, Everett is doing much better. He is getting over his yeast infection, croup, and ear infection nicely. He is as happy as could be, somehow, and growing like a (good) weed. In other somewhat family news a little while back, my brother and sister in law announced that they are having another baby. So I will have another niece or nephew in about 7 months. Yippie!

Then you have the always awkward park, when your are both done with your coffee and realized you ran out of things to talk about. You say “Welp…” get up and pay your bill. Say your good byes and head on your way, until next time. I’ll see ya then! Have a good weekend. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Time!

Hey Everyone!

Well here we are on a Friday morning. I just finished my first cup of coffee and also remembered to start this post! Seems rare. ๐Ÿ˜€

Well first as a correction to my post yesterday it was the FCC vote not the congress vote, not yet. There is still time to fight for Net Neutrality. But that isn’t what this post is about, just a side note.

Lets see, it is bitter cold here coming in at 7 degrees F, yes just 7 lol. It is one of those mornings where it seems to be too cold to snow. The roads are slick and it was slow going to daycare and work this morning.

In Netflix fun I believe that ‘The Ranch’ is back for another season. My wife and I fell for that show after just giving it a chance. It seemed like a dumb little spin off,ย  because Ashton Kutcher was bored and has money. It turned into more for us and has become a show that we want more of. I am also super stoked that ‘Black Mirror’ will be back on the 29th I believe.

Yesterday at work, I was making moves and posting up. I like proving my worth and knowing that I am making an impact. Most days people know I am here and know that I help, but there are some days where people really see you as someone important. Yesterday turned out to be one of those days. Another person in out department has been working on something that is over his head and taking too long, like months. I got a hold of the project and had it fixed in under 30 minutes. Now I don’t like being the guy to swoop in and take a project, so I waited until it was given to me. I am still the low man on the totem pole and don’t want to step on any toes. It is a delicate balance in a small department. But it was nice to b recognized for furthering a much bigger project and knowing that I played a huge part in moving it forward.

I guess that is what we can talk about today. Have you ever felt that way? Have you had some time to step into the spotlight and make a visible impact, whether at work, or some other area of your life? Have you ever felt like you have to wait for the right moment to do something? How did that go for you? Success? Let me know down below!

I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll see you here again on Monday! ๐Ÿ˜€ : D

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I am going to squeeze this in before I go to my baby’s 6 month appointment. Last night I mad the switch to owning my own modem router and not renting the one from my ISP. After work I went and bought the one I wanted, and tore out all of the old stuff to bring to the ISP. Everything was going great! They got my old stuff back and turned off, and turned on my new router with seemingly no issue.

I got home and plugged it all in and got it up and running, only to find that I had no internet connection at all! Yikes. What the heck happened? I called my ISP right back and was on hold for far too long. He told me that the ladies at the store may have just entered the information incorrectly. That being said he re-entered the data and it was still rejected! I was placed on hold and it must have timed out because I was kicked back to a menu option instead….. :/ I hung up and called right back. Being on hold again far too long. I got another agent who read the notes of the last guy and was going to speak with her supervisor about the issue, After watching 2 episodes of Game of Thrones I was brought back on the line to be told that they couldn’t get it working!!!! I was told to contact the maker of my router and see if they could help me. Working in IT I know that is grabbing at straws. I have contacted Netgear, the maker of my router, and will see what they say. I’m sure I’ll be calling my ISP back soon. Also for those who may not know, two episodes of Game of Thrones is roughly TWO HOURS! Yes this is real life! Oye!

Have you too had issues with your ISP? I’m not having fun with mine today! I’ll se you again on Monday have a great weekend! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

Ah, it is Friday once again. Such a great feeling. I have a few things to do today but then the weekend is unplanned. Our boy is still sick so we will most likely stay in, which is OK. I’m going to look at a snow blower after work and that’s pretty much it.

Lets see….What is going on with all of you? How have you been? Do you have plans for the upcoming holiday? (Thanksgiving) I will be having dinner at my parent’s house along with the rest of my family and enjoying some NFL games. The Friday after I will be enjoying more food with my wife’s family. Her uncles will be in town as well as the rest of her family, I believe. That will be followed by a weekend of left overs and bloated stomachs haha.

I have also finished the 3 seasons ofย  “Hemlock Grove” on Netflix. I really enjoyed it. Have you seen it? It is a bit creepy, which is why I have to watch it alone, as my wife does not like anything remotely scary. lol

Anyway, let me know what has been going on, I’d love to hear from you! Also if you follow Gerson over at you should check out his “Getting to know you” post. I have answered the questions he asked and it’ll be more fun if more join in. Also if you don’t follow his blog give it a look. He have great pictures from his travels and a neat layout!

I’ll see you all again Monday! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

Here again early Friday morning, for another coffee talk. I must quickly say that I almost forgot, since the new season of Stranger things is out on Netflix! Eeeekkk ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Lets talk Halloween! This is the weekend before the holiday, and we have very little plans, since we have all been a bit ill. We were invited to a family friendly party but we cannot go.

Our house is decked out with lights, cobwebs, witches brooms and the rest. We have our candy ready, about 400 pieces, and all we need now are tick or treaters. This is our first Halloween in the new house and we are excited to build up a relationship with the neighborhood a bit.

What are your Halloween traditions? Do you go get candy? Do you stay home or go out? Heck do you do anything?!? Some people may not like this holiday, if so let me know!

I’m a fan of this holiday and I like its dark nature haha.

Lets talk!

Lets Get Artsy!

Hey Everyone!

Today I’m doing something different yet again. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite painters and want to showcase some of their work and leave short descriptions about the artist. Why not right?! I’m not a huge collector of art, but would like to be someday. I was able to attend an art auction while on our honeymoon a few years back and it was spectacular. So without further ado, lets get into it.

**Disclaimer, I don’t have deep ties with the paintings or messages I just like the imagery (Again, not much of an art guy)**

Lets start out with a couple everyone will have heard of. One of my all time favorite painters is Salvador Dali. Something about the way he saw the world, got me hooked. I mean c’mon look at these works below!

Dali was a Spanish, surrealist artist. This can clearly be seen in his paintings. They are meant to show the creative potential of the unconscious mind, hence why most everything is melty haha. If you want to know a few random facts about Dali follow this link here! Quick side note, when I was in high school I did a really nice rendition of one of his works of art. The sad thing is that once I turned it in, it got lost and I never saw it again! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Next up another well known artist, Vincent van Gogh! Everyone has heard of and see his ,arguably, most famous painting, The Starry Night. His other works are just as beautiful.

van Gogh was a Dutch artist, known for his Post-Impressionist form. That and we all remember that he cut his dang ear off for a girl! Poor guy. To learn more about him check this link here! He had only painted for ten years before committing suicide, but had created over 2,000 works of art! That is impressive.

Changing gears here we have Blek le Rat. He was one of the very first graffiti artists in Paris. He has also been described as the ‘Father of Stencil Graffiti’ Check out some of his work below:

He began painting in 1981 painting stencils of rats on the walls of Paris streets, claiming that they were the only free animals in the city. Most graffiti artists paint with a message, and he was no different.ย  Each person should interpret it for themselves though. I think the same art will mean something different to each person who views it. For more on Blek le Rat check this link out!

His works heavily influenced this next guy. Banksy is his name and anonymity is his game. You may have heard of him, through his political graffiti art. He incorporates a bit of dark humor and satire into his paintings.

Much like Blek le Rat he does some stencil art on the streets. When he started out, in 1990, he did freehand graffiti. In the early 2000’s he switched to stencils because they were faster, and allowed him to get away easier with out sacrificing his messages. I just like the simplicity of the paintings, that have a much more powerful meaning. I don’t think we see eye to eye on the message but the respect is still there. For a few more facts about Banksy check out this link!

We are switching gears, one more time for the final artist. He was a Japanese artist names Katsushika Hokusai. He was a painter and a print maker. He had an obsession with Mount Fuji, as you can see in his art. He is also well known for The Great Wave print. Which I love.

Hokusai was influenced by the styling of Chinese painting. His actually date of birth is a mystery, but is stated as the 23rd day of the 9th month of the 10th year. During his life he went by over 30 different names. For more interesting facts on Katsushika Hokusai follow the link provided riiiiiiiiiight…..HERE!

So there you have it! Just a few of the artists that I think of when asked. Not that I was asked, but you know, when I am. ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope you have enjoyed this post, I’ll be back again tomorrow. I hope to see you then! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
