What A Day!

Hey Everyone!

I wasn’t able to get a post out yesterday, and for that I apologize. Aside from being swamped at work, I had to meet with the plumber once again, and take the dog to the vet.

This weekend was fun and now I’m sore. We played 5 softball games on Saturday with a fairly new younger team. Still the same core people but some nice additions. We will have a good team this year. It was a long hot day, but felt great to get back out there.

Back to yesterday.

First at work I have been setting up a few machines at the same time trying to get everything out at the right time. I have a ton of things in my office. If you didn’t know better you would start to think it was a storage shed haha.

Over the weekend our big sink that the washer drains into, was clogged. Without being able to do laundry or wash the paint sprayer, we were sitting ducks. So around 11 am I got the call that the plumber was on his way. I was with him at my house until about 1 pm. They were the same company that I used before. He took apart all of the fixtures to the sink and moved it out of the way.

1

Until we were left with just this pipe sticking out of the ground.

2

In that picture you can see the small trap on the floor and his snake. He ran that a couple of times before doing this.

3

This is a balloon mechanism that you feed water into. the end expands, like a balloon, in the pipe so a seal forms. It then uses a tight nozzle on the end to shoot water out in a jet stream and blast the gunk out of the small pipe in the the main line. Thankfully this worked and we were able to clear the pipe. He put every thing back together and back to work I went.

I was only at work for another couple hours before I had to leave early to pick up Everett. Once I got home I turned right back around with the dog and took her to the vet for her annual Lyme vaccine. She lost the winter weight, and they said she looks and sounds great. We will take that win! She is a real pain in the ass at the vet. She walks in the door every time and starts barking non stop until she is put in a room. They put her in one early because she was so annoying haha. Its always a struggle.

I finally made it home and changed my clothes, and headed out to paint some of the fence. The weather isn’t looking great for the end of this week so I wanted to make sure I used the good days while they were here. My paint is getting old and the latex is getting a bit chunky? I guess? So the sprayer is getting clogged and isn’t working well. I decided to hand paint all of the weird spots like the 4×4 posts, and 2×4 supporting beams. this way when I go get another fresh gallon tonight, I can just spray the boards and maybe be done! that would be great.

That was my busy weekend and even busier Monday! I hope you had a great weekend as well, and I hope to see you back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Gender Reveal & Playground! (Pics & Vids)

Hey Everyone!

We had a pretty exciting weekend, with a lot going on. I’m proud to say that I took pictures and videos of all of it. Go me! Saturday morning my wife’s went out of town with friends and I took Everett to my brother and sister in-law’s gender reveal. They were announcing the gender of their second child, they already have one girl. It was out at a hunting camp in the woods. Here is Everett holding a pink balloon, I guess we know what his guess was! ๐Ÿ˜€ (Sorry it is a little blury but he was on the move)

1

Everett and his cousin Rory played on the floor while we waited for everyone else to arrive and eat.

2

Here is my brother holding Everett.

3

This one is a funny comparison. Everett, Rory and Pepper the 2 year old Great Dane haha ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ (Both of their Great Danes were there but I only caught the one)

4

On to the more exciting stuff! Here is the box my brother made to reveal the gender. Inside of this box was Tannerite, and on top of the Tannerite was a bag of colored powder. My brother’s goal was to shoot the Tannerite through the box and have it explode the color all over the place. (For those of you unaware of what Tannerite is you will soon find out.)

Here is the video I took. ( I set my phone on a chair and backed up haha, I wasn’t that close) (SOUND ON)

By now you know they are having another girl haha. Here are a few pictures I took after the reveal.

We finished the afternoon up there and had a relaxing evening at home, once my wife was back.

Sunday started like any other, lazy and sleepy. I was trying to get a few games in, before Everett woke from his nap but that didn’t last too long.

5

My wife had him downstairs after that and she sent me this picture haha, that hairdo! ๐Ÿ˜€

6

7

It was nearing 3:30pm and we were experiencing some cabin fever, so we decided to take a walk. It was about 43 degrees F, but the sun was shining.

8

We were going to walk our normal distance, but liked being out in the fresh air after being cooped up all winter. We took Everett, and our dog, about a mile down the road to the local playground. This was his first time at a play ground. He was able to enjoy his first time on a swing. ๐Ÿ˜€

9

This, of course, followed by his first time on a slide! ๐Ÿ˜€

10

He did enjoy both, but wasn’t sure what was going on at first. We had successfully had a play date at the playground!

12

About half way home again the poor little guy was all tuckerd out!

11

We stopped and saw my parents on the way home, since they live a city block away from us, and headed home. We had some home made burgers and beans for dinner and watched a little March Madness before going to bed. Overall it was a very pleasant weekend. We can’t wait to get outside with him more now that he is a little bigger.

That is all for me, I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What A Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was a fun one for me. I didn’t just sit at home the whole time and wish the weather was better.

We were trying to dodge the Flu though, and I think my wife lost that battle. I for one, am still doing fine for the most part. I have a stuffy head, but she is feeling all the aches and pains. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

We can start off of Saturday! I woke up bright and early and got ready, like normal, because….I had a Masonic seminar most of the day. It was about an hour and a half away and my cousin and one other guy were going with. We left our city at about 7am and teh meeting started at 9am. I corresponded with my wife’s grandpa, so I could drop offย  our documents for taxes. Two birds. One stone. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We arrived a bit early, like you should, and signed in. We continued down aย  line of tables and got our folder with information for the day and then the good stuff. Next came the doughnuts and coffee! I had too many doughnuts and that is all I’ll say, but they were good.

The meeting was for people looking to move through the ranks in lodge. It covered everything, in basic form, you would need to run a lodge as a Worshipful Master for a whole year. We were able to asks questions in an open format and have a couple good conversations. There were mentors and District Deputy Grand Masters there from all over the state. So, lots of knowledge there for the picking! These type of events are fun, because you can really get a sense of how big the organization is and how big of an impact they make on the community. For lunch we had some homemade sloppy Joe’s, egg salad sandwiches, veggies, soup, and apple pie. Afterwards we had a presentation of organ donation and blood donations. As a Mason, signed up for the blood club, you are able to ensure that if you ever need blood that we will get it. This is of course after insurance pays for what they can. It also covers your immediate family, so that is very nice to be a part of. We finished up our little lecture and were out of there around 1:30pm. We waited around a bit and my wife’s mom brought over some frozen goods we should have had the weekend we didn’t go back. I guess you can retract my previous statement and say we killed three birds with one stone. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sunday we wanted to get out a little bit since, other than my meeting, we had been cooped up for a while. Everett has gotten over the Flu and we figured some fresh are was much deserved. The weather was somewhat chilly but it felt good to me, with the appropriate attire. So we went for our first walk all winter! We made sure to bundle Everett up as best we could:

6

We were able to sit him up more since he is bigger. He seemed to like being able to see more. I was wondering how much he would remember since developmentally he hadn’t really been on a walk in months. He can now see further and start to understand his surroundings. We also had to stop and take a nice family photo along the way:

1

Everett didn’t seem overly thrilled but I assure you he had a good time. Our dog was with us too but good luck getting her to hold still!

After our walk we watched a movie, which was not particularly good. I would have reviewed it but I am fairly busy at work today. I can tell you it was Spectre, the James Bond flick. I know it is a couple years old, but I can tell you that IMDB.com has it at a 6.8 I would go lower than that. It was very disappointing in my eyes. The story was there but just about everything turned me off from it. Either way it was nice to stop doing everything and watch a movie. The rest of the day my wife edited some pictures, Everett played beside us in the attic, and I was able to get a few games in. Over all it was a good weekend.

Today I am jam packed with things to do. I have to collect a urine sample from our female dog, and get it tested again to make sure her UTI is gone. Then it is off to Everett’s nine month appointment. This is where he will get a ton of shots and be mad at us for a short time haha. By the way….Everett is nine months old, I failed to mention that last Thrusday! Woo!

That is all for me today, I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Weekend Update!

Hey Everyone!

Our plans for Saturday didn’t happen. We were going to go back to see my wife’s family and that all fell through. We spent the day at home, doing a bit of everything.

Sunday was similar up until dinner. We headed over to my parent’s house. It was Super Bowl Sunday and my parents always throw a party. Nothing crazy, just some family and what not. We, as I have stated before, weren’t going to stay for the majority of the game. We got there early and let everyone spend some time with Everett and all that good stuff. My brother and his little family came and my niece Rory had some nice little pig tails in.

Here is her and my dad putting her baby doll in the play set.

1

Her she is again trying to give Everett her doll. He was clearly watching the TV or someone else in the room lol.

2

Rory is sitting with my dad in this one talking with my Aunt.

3

We had homemade pizza and plenty of snacks. There was everything from veggies, to chips, venison balls, and brownies. We stayed a bit later than we planned, but I figured that would happen once people were there. It was a good night. We got home at a decent time and put Everett to bed around 9pm.

My wife has the week off to burn some vacation time. If she doesn’t use it she loses it so why not right? She sent me this picture of Everett playing in the new jumper I bought him Sunday.

signal-2018-02-05-075840

He really seems to like it. The three buttons by the globe speak in English, Spanish, and French. It is a nice learning tool for that age. All sorts of things make noise on that thing haha.

So now I’m stuck at work while they are home all week. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Oh well. I have to do what I have to do I suppose! That is all for me today. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Christmas #1!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome back on this fine Monday. Lets see, I’ll fill you in on this weekend in this post. Friday was very normal and not much was going on. Saturday we woke up and my wife wanted to get some last minute Christmas shopping done. We headed about a half an hour away and hit up the T.J. Maxx. We brought Everett, like we normally do, and he was pretty fussy the whole time.ย  I ended up carrying him so that my wife could focus on getting what she came for. He is getting heavy enough now that he really hurts your back. We were also having a guy come buy our pellet stove finally! He was supposed to come at 3-3:30 Saturday and he called me while we were still out shopping, saying he was at our house! We were about 25 minutes away and definitely not home. I was able to tell him that I would get a hold of my dad and/or brother to meet him. By the time I got home he was gone and my dad handed me the money. That was the easiest thing I had to do all weekend haha.ย  So here is your typical ‘money shot’ after the sale haha.

20171216_160023

You may remember me talking about a game called Ingress. It is a mobile augmented reality game. If you don’t play it, you should. You should also be sure to join the blue team (Resistance). ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyway, every so often a group of us get together, hangout, and most times, play the game in a group. We also stop and have lunch or dinner.ย  We met up this summer and played for a while and had some awesome pizza. It being a terrible winter night, we all just met up for some food at a bar and caught up with each other on Saturday. We had the typical 7 people there, even though we were missing a few others due to sickness and car trouble. I’m sure they will see us at the next one. If you are thinking about trying it out just know that it is a huge game, played worldwide, and addicting as all get out. You can hook up with local players all over and join groups on things like Facebook, Google Hangouts, and Zello. Dinner was actually really dang good. I built my own blue cheese burger, while others got home made prime rib, and pizza. All of which got great reviews.

Sunday my wife’s dad and family came into town to celebrate Christmas with us. We are trying to start the trend of not really traveling on Christmas since we always travel to see them every.single.time. This year is working well so far, they came this weekend. Next weekend will be the rest of her family and possibly mine. We are probably going to my parents late Christmas day just because my brothers and I went in on gifts for my parents and it wouldn’t make since to not all be there. Back to yesterday though. They brought a nice spaghetti casserole, and we made salad and bread sticks. Nothing fancy but here is our little table spread.

20171217_153505

Afterwards the boys played a bit and we opened gifts that we got for each other. Here is my brother in-law Remi playing with his dump truck.

20171217_160610

Next we have Everett and his Grandpa Fred, hangin out on the couch. Look at those happy faces.

20171217_162432

This one is just a group shot of everyone, except me that is, while opening gifts.

20171217_162856

Here we have Everett with a bow on his head looking at his farm puzzle. He really likes chewing on those haha.

20171217_163035

Everett and Remi are both playing with Remi’s puzzle in this one. I love seeing him sitting up and interacting with other kids.

20171217_163641

We have two shots of him opening his big gift from his grandma and grandpa. He got a little sit on train with fun little buttons and lights on the sides. He can have it for a while and grow in to the rest of it.

20171217_163930

Seriously how stinkin cute!

20171217_164040

After that they headed home, they live about an hour and a half away. With it getting dark so early it is hard to stay very long anywhere. Once they left we gave Everett some of the spaghetti casserole.

20171217_18384420171217_183924

He isn’t quite sure what to do or think about it all, and he is slow to bring real food to his mouth. We are trying to use a technique we learned from my cousins this summer called ‘Baby Led Weaning’ It is an approach to introduce solid food, to encourage the baby to self-feed. It is not done with any pureed food on a spoon. It isn’t to wean them off of milk but rather on to solids. Everett is now sitting with us and ‘attempting’ to eat what we eat. He can eat at his own pace, as well as as much or as little as he wants. He isn’t tied to only a few types and kinds of food. He is still getting breast milk and he is under very careful supervision. It seems to be going well. ๐Ÿ˜€ It is different from what people are used to and it freaks people out but it just fine for babies. I was freaked out at first, but not too much anymore. If you would like to read about it check this link out. Mama Natural.

That was about the end of our night. Oh, I am also testing streaming services to find what will work for us. I started my 7 day trial of Sling TV and can tell you now it isn’t what I want. I will be going to Hulu Live TV next weekend and think I will like it much more. I will also try to plug the coaxial cable right into my TV and pick up local channels. I’ll try to remember to let you know how it all goes.

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What A Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We need to just jump right in here. Friday I left work a bit early so that I could return my broken router and get another one. I was able to get everything I needed and activated just in time. I crossed my fingers and powered it up, and to my surprise it worked! We were not doomed to live like cavemen this weekend haha. It is hilarious to me that we rely so heavily on the internet now a days. I mean don’t get my wrong, it is partly my livelihood, but still funny to see how it has taken over.

Saturday started out nice an innocent. We woke up like normal and waited for my wife’s mother to come into town. Shortly after we got all dressed up and went out to get a few family pictures. We really don’t have any where Everett is looking because we never have anyone to get his attention. Saturday we did! Here is one of those pictures:

24899812_10208725785260686_6028008282331312876_n.jpg

Afterwards we went home and relaxed for a little bit before going out to my company’s Christmas party. I went out a day or two before and grabbed some stuff for mixed drinks, so that I was covered for the party. My mistake was bringing it all with me instead of portioning out all I wanted to drink. We got to the party around 6pm and proceeded to east a nice dinner of brisket, chicken, potatoes, corn, and beans. The food was catered by a local BBQ restaurant. Throughout the night I just kept filling up my cup, not thinking much about it. Our company hired a comedic magician, for the nights entertainment. He was pretty funny and did a handful of decent illusions. He wasn’t the greatest, but what can you expect from a local company Christmas party haha. Afterwards the DJ turned on the music and the light dimmed. At this point I had already had too much to drink not even realizing it. That is my issue with drinking in general. Once I get going it is hard for me to make myself stop, since I’m no longer thinking correctly. That is why I need to portion what I bring in the future so I don’t have a choice, but to stop at the right amount. That is, if I want to drink at all. I rarely do now. For some reason I always compare, Cale today with Cale from college. Let me be the first to tell you they aren’t the same people anymore and don’t share the same tolerance for alcohol. I guess my thinking was I would be OK and for the night and I knew Everett was taken care of so I could let loose a little bit. I just over did it, and that was a mistake. I don’t want to set bad examples for my son, so I’ll be sure to take it easy in all future endeavors.

I rode home with my parents and got home around 11pm. I was trying to go to sleep and found myself instantly sick to my stomach. I ended up getting sick three times that night. When I woke up I still wasn’t feeling well, as I’m sure you could imagine. I was unable to eat or drink, because my stomach was still upset. My wife, her mother, and Everett went shopping and while they were gone I got sick again! Thankfully after that last time I felt much better. I was able to eat and drink a ton of water. This got me back on my feet a bit. Later that day My wife’s brother and family came down. We were having our kids pose for Christmas pictures, to give to the families. My nephew is old enough to run around so of course that is what he did. It was tough to get him to be in the same picture as Everett. We did manage to get a few good ones with the help of everyone there haha. I don’t have them to show you but they are really cute. They are wearing matching Buffalo flannel clothing, with a white background.

Once everyone left Everett and I took a couple hour long naps that we both clearly needed. this gave my wife time to catch up on some of her work from the week before. I woke up feeling very refreshed and much better. Monday I had the day off, to meet with the plumbers. It was the day that we were getting our sewer main fixed. Finally! I woke up and took Everett to the babysitter. the plumbers came around 9am and were done by 1pm. First they dug out the floor of my basement to get at the problem pipe.

20171211_113305

Upon realizing that it wasn’t a true house trap, and only a ‘U’ they told me I could just have a ‘T’ put in and that it would be much cheaper, with no downside. (I asked haha)ย  So that is what they did.

20171211_123001

When they were done they filled it all back in and we were good to go!

20171211_131709

As of this afternoon the concrete should be good to go. I was originally quoted $2100 by another company. This company came in and quoted me at $1600. Once finding out that I could have a easier fix they said it would be half, so like $800. When the bill was handed to me it was only $520!!! I couldn’t believe it. That made me and my wallet very happy.

Today I am back at work and all is well. We are getting about two feet of snow today and tomorrow so we may see how well my snow blower works haha. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you had a nice weekend. C-ya tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Wedding & Productive Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

I would like to start off by saying sorry for missing Friday’s post. Whoopsies! In all seriousness I didn’t for get I was tasked with a really difficult project. It has all been sorted out as of this morning but it was something I was not very familiar with, so it took a while. It was a macro enabled Excel sheet that got all jacked up from the latest Office update. I has to go through the VBA code with the guy who wrote it and figure out what we could do. It really did take all day haha.

Secondly I want to send a shout out to Riley, from Riley’s Backpack! A while back you might remember him and his friends wanted to raise enough money on their Go Fund Me page to renew their domain and keep it ad free. I helped them out with what I could, and in return He send me a hand written letter. I wanted to say thank you and let you know you did indeed get my name correct haha ๐Ÿ˜€

g

Saturday the little family and I went to a wedding! It was not just any wedding, it was her father’s wedding to his long time girlfriend. They now have a baby boy well over one year old and finally got hitched. You can see all three of them below.

d

I know it isn’t the best picture but our little buddy kept getting fussy and we did end up leaving sooner than we intended to. It was a quaint little wedding in a nice Catholic church. The reception was on the lake in a really nice dining hall. The trip was a bit lengthy and I wasn’t super fond of that but it was all worth it.

Before we went to the wedding we stopped for lunch at my wife’s grandparent’s house. He had pumpkins waiting for him and wanted pictures with him up on his tractor. So that is what went down. Here is a shot of Everett Hugh and his great grandfather Francis Hugh!

s.jpg

Once we got home that evening we hit the hay.

Sunday started out pretty lazy, as intended, but wound up being quite productive. We didn’t quite have a frost but it was damn close. We had some morning coffee from our new coffee bar, and watched Netflix in our pajamas. We did have quite a bit to do and honestly got most of it done. We had your standard weekend cleaning, on top of laundry since we were gone the whole day before. I took out all the trash, hung Halloween lights, and mowed the grass. Later in the day I had a lady come look at the pellet stove I am selling, and I hope to hear back from her soon. My parents came over and brought Chinese for dinner. That was a great way to round out the weekend.

On a, probably over protective note, our boy has what looks like a small red-ish rash looking spot on his chin. Since we were around a bunch of people recently we don’t want him to have anything wrong with him. You hear all of the horror stories about babies getting bad viruses and we really hope it is nothing. I think I’ll call the doctor after lunch.

Again I apologies for missing Friday but I’ll be back again tomorrow. I’ll see you then! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Birthday, Shopping, Cabin!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was jam packed with a little bit of everything. Friday was my mom’s birthday. We all met down town and had dinner at a nice restaurant. Afterwards we bought some pie from the same place and headed to our place. My brother’s family had to go early to put their baby down for the night. We stayed and played a couple of games of Yahtzee! My wife and mother did better than my dad and I. Not a great picture but still captures the moment haha.

20170922_210618

That was the end of our night. Saturday my little family took a trip to the city to get a few things. We had some Olive Garden for lunch. I had a nice grilled chicken flatbread. YUM! Everett was very well behaved, and a few people stuck up a small conversation with us. All around good time.

20170923_133431

We stopped at Babies-R-Us to use up a gift card and a returned item to buy a few things. Jordyn bought a few milk storage bags and what not, and the big purchase was a 4ย  in 1 convertible Graco car seat!

20170923_185721

He will be able to use that seat until he doesn’t need one anymore. It converts all the way to a backless booster seat. It will take a little time to get used to but it is really nice. And just think we really got it for free, can’t beat that.

My wife then wanted to visit Kirkland’s for the first time. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it is a very nice home decor store. Most things are reasonably priced, and fairly well made. She had thoughts of getting a few little things there and then going to Hobby Lobby, but that didn’t quite pan out. I’ll tell you why. She, almost instantly, found a stand that would fit perfectly in our house. It was a large item and we didn’t think we had a way to even get it home. I eventually broke down and went and bought a set of ratchet straps and put it on the roof haha. Once we got it home, it really did transform the space. Check it out:

signal-2017-09-24-172418

So there you have it, we now have a coffee bar! It fits so well. Just before we left to come home we stopped at Barnes and Noble. I was looking to start a Tom Clancy series, then realized that his books are bible large and that may not be the best for me. If you follow my Instagram you will already know what I got, but I did get something different. I picked up a book from an author I know I like. From the author of the Legend, Prodigy, Champion trilogy, comes my newest edition, War Cross!

20170923_210234

I’m not sure how much time I will have to start reading this book but I really want to. I enjoyed that named trilogy above tremendously.

Sunday my dad, brothers, and I went to camp to work on the cabin some more. It is really starting to take shape as a real structure. They already had siding on the back, as shown:

20170924_111053

We were going to be working on insulating the inside as well as putting up some rough cut boards on the front. Here is what it looked like before we started:

20170924_111359

Here are the 40+ rough cut boards we had to carry into the woods:

20170924_111529

My mom came out and helped my brother put up some insulation:

20170924_151741

20170924_151745

My dad and I measued and cut each board to fit around the roof rafters and screwed them into place. We are later going to rip a few boards into four inch wide pieces to go over the gaps between the boards. We will also draw a straight line along the bottom and cut the bottom straight, but that is for another day.

20170924_154136

We may end up staining it in the future so it lasts longer but we aren’t sure yet. For now we want it boarded up and ready for winter. We will have to frame the door a bit more and finish the two ends. While at camp I cut a bunch of kindling from the scrap rough cut wood. I was going to go home and start putting wood in my storage container. You know the one I made a little while ago. Here’s how it looks!

20170924_175002

I really like the way this piece turned out! I can’t wait to have a few fires, and not have to trudge through the snow to go get more wood.

That rounded out my weekend. My baby has his four month check up today after work and I have one of my best friends from high school coming over to meet him after. I haven’t seen him in a while so it will be a good time catching up a bit.

That is all for me today, I hope top see you all back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Weekend Fun!

Hey Everyone!

Today is a little off for my family. We all have head colds, and yes that includes our little babe.ย  ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

We did come off of a pretty good weekend though. Saturday we went to the Wild Wind craft festival. The Tamarack Center has my favorite exhibit. They are a rehabilitation center for wild animals of all kinds.

They have all kinds of hawks, owls, eagles, and other animals. They get calls and go pick up these animals and nurse them back to health before releasing them back into the wild.

Some animals will never be able to return to the wild but they raise them all the same. The rest of the exhibits were in the barns that are usually full of animals for the fair. There were about 10 barns full of handmade crafts, it is pretty amazing.

We had to take a foo break with the little one. ๐Ÿ˜€

Then it was back at it, with more to see!

My wife’s favorite thing at this festival is a place called Holiday Confections. They make candy apples, iced coffee, and other candies.

Here she is picking her poison this year.

Another cool stop is The Hit-N-Miss Ice Cream Co. They have an old engine churning their ice cream.

Here it is in action:

Sunday we had my niece’s 1st birthday party. We had the chance to see a few family members that we don’t usually get to see. They rented a pavilion and set up shop. It was a great day for it, not too hot and not too cold. Here she is opening some presents.

One of Rory’s great aunts, I believe, made these cookies for her! On the plus side they were delicious.

A friend of my sister in-law made her this little cake!

Then it was time for her to have her first taste of cake.

The rest of Sunday was spent hanging out for a bit, and sadly letting the sickness sink in. We are all congested and he is taking it the hardest, because he is a wee baby. I made him his own little spot to sit up like a big boy.

That was the best he looked. He soon got puffy red eyes, with gunk in them. He was coughing, and couldn’t breath out his nose too well. Later the Cowboys played so I had to stay up for their opener. They beat the Giants 19-3 and that is a huge win for them. Last year they were the only team to beat us in the regular season.

It’s a bad picture but it is just there to get the message across haha. We had aย  terrible nights sleep, and are dead dog tired today. This all of course on top of feeling like crap. Everett has an appointment with the doctor at 1 and I am going to take the afternoon off to rest myself. That is all from me today. I hope you all had a great weekend! I’ll see you all tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Saturday Work Bee

Back Again!

After we left the Potter Fest we headed to the work bee!

My work for the after noon was to refinish these three chairs. I gave them a fresh coat of blue!

Here we have our solar lights getting a good charge, and the tent up for dining. We serve the food out of the garage all week.

Here is a sneak peak of everything in that big back yard!

We have my cousin repainting some chairs for the 11 children under 6 years old, coming this year!

My dad was tasked with pressure wash all the old tables and chairs.

My mother was cleaning some of the many toys and play things. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Here is a shot of just how big the yard is. We will all camp out around the perimeter.

Sunday we stayed home all day and hung out with our baby. My wife had to go back to work today so she wanted to just stay home and snuggle him, and that’s what she did! I woke up and eventually made a good hearty breakfast! I made us some scrambled eggs with pepper and onion, as well as bacon, bagels and homemade hash browns.

Lastly here is my boy on his first day going to his daycare! It has been a big day full of emotion.I dropped him off this morning and will see how it all went after work! ๐Ÿ˜€
