Monday Photo Dump!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the start of the week! We did quite a bit this weekend. Friday we went to Pizza Hut with my parents for dinner and Everett was being a normal goofball.

Saturday morning we headed back to the cabin. We are hoping to have the beds in before the start of the hunting season. We added stairs to the front and added boards to the ceiling. Some of the wall pieces are missing, because they are all pieces we have to cut to a custom size.

This area will be the bed room, with bunks on the right and left.

This next one is looking from the kitchen area to the bedroom. We have that half wall up to divide the room.

While I was at camp my wife’s two friends came into town. One of them has a little three month old. We got ready and went to the county fair for a few hours.

Next is a must have golf cart. Just sayin. 😀

Towards the end we lowered Everett’s stroller and he passed right out!

Sunday we went out to visit my wife’s dad. He has been in a nursing home for a little bit now. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a while ago and can no longer live on his own. It is pretty sad because he isn’t very old. He remembers us and Everett and loves holding him.

We were able to meet with his wife and their kid Remi and take him to the courtyard. The kids ran around like crazy.

The lady in the wheelchair is Lois. She has sort of been watching over my wife’s dad while people aren’t around. She came out with us and loved seeing the boys.

Everett and Uncle Remi are playing here with some cars on the little bench.

Later to round out the day and make the most out of it we met with her grandparents and brother’s family for lunch. It was at a very nice golf course in the area. They have great food and service.

If you have your volume on you can hear Everett slurp up his noodles haha. if you look close you can even see his top teeth! 😀 😀

Once we got home, we got in our comfy clothes and watched some New Girl. Everett has been looking though his legs so my wife was doing it too and he was laughing hysterically.

That was our weekend! We did a lot and it was, like always, worth it. I hope you had a great weekend too! I’ll see you all again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Rough Start!

Hey Everyone!

It’s Tuesday and do I have a bad morning story for you today!

I awoke like a normal morning, tired and groggy from the recent time change. I took my shower, and while brushing my teeth, I missed and jammed it pretty hard into where my gums meet my lip. I didn’t look but I can feel that it is all bruised and cut up. Overall it doesn’t feel very good! I noticed when I was putting on my clothes that my heel, like around my Achilles Tendon, was in pain. I’m not sure what I did or when, but still to this moment it hurts to walk or bend my foot in anyway. So random heel pain, no bueno! I hobbled along the rest of the morning and made breakfast, like normal, as well as fed the pets and helped get Everett ready. Since it is snowing and crappy here I had to go outside and start my car to get it warmed up for Everett and to get the snow off the windshield. I took one step down the stairs and slipped on ice. I flew backwards, catching my arms on both railings and sliding down the rest of the stairs. OUCH! I have a couple bruises on my arms, but other than that I’m OK. I did instantly think about just calling off from work and calling it a day, but I persisted. I have tried to stay inactive at work, as far as physical labor is concerned, for good reason. That is my sob story for the day haha. I reallllllly hope you are having a better day than me today! 😀

My wife and I gathered all of the things we needed for the pre-approval process. We had to gather our W-2’s for the last two years as well as our last two pay stubs. This accompanying a form with basic information will be processed, in a few days and we will know if the bank will lend us enough money to get started on a house. It is all pretty nerve wracking. I’m not handling it very well. I get overwhelmed with multiple variables that I can’t control. It has me in bad moods and finding myself with a shorter fuse than normal. I am trying to cope with it and not outwardly attack anyone that doesn’t deserve it haha. Once I know more I’ll be more at ease with the whole thing.

The other thing I am handling today is Everett’s referral for tubes. His pediatrician said that we may as well start the process, and that if we chose not to do it we can at any time. Well, we found out that the person we were refereed to does not accept our insurance. I have canceled his first appointment and now have to see if they will refer him to another ear nose throat doctor. That is if this lady ever calls me back.

I hope you are having a great Tuesday, and I hope to see you all back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

A Bit Of Everything

Hey Everyone!

After yesterday’s post I have cleared my head and will be taking the first step to work on some of these projects. Of course, one at a time will be best. The weather is finally cooperating and that will help. The first thing I am going to tackle is my porch and front stairs. I have to finish cementing the steps to make a nice enough 90 degree angle. Following that I will have to sand and paint. Soon after I will be able to lay the new outdoor carpet. I will, with any luck do the cement work tonight after work. I may possibly buy the carpet and double sided tape as well. If everything is on track I should be able to have this all done by the end of this weekend. It will be tough since this weekend is packed with other things to do but we will get it done! This whole thing will make the outward appearance of the house look 100% better. Depending on how much everything is going to cost will dictate what I am able to do after. I might be able to start working on making my own bookcases, one at a time. Maybe I can start on the garage. That way I won’t deplete my home fund in the process.

Work has been pretty slow today, and it makes me feel different things. On the one hand I want to get the heck out of here and be more productive elsewhere, but at the same time it is nice and peaceful. I should have a few more PCs to work on tomorrow and next week, that’ll keep me plenty busy. I think the only thing I have really had to go check out today was a screaming printer. You all know how I feel about those things!

I have been working on learning Python coding. I want to learn some sort of code and really know it. I heard that it is a great started language, but if I don’t use that knowledge I will surely lose it, that’s just how I am. I have been doing well so far, but I have ran into some snags with the code not working itself. So I took a step back from it because it will only get worse if I keep digging for something that isn’t there.

Our masonic degree work went well last night. We were in and out of there in about two hours. It was super hot in there though. We turned the AC on but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. We had enough people there and a few guys on the sidelines which is nice to see. We are taking the months of July and August off for the summer, and will be back at it come September.

That is it for me today. I’ll be back again tomorrow for the Friday post, I hope to see you then! 😀 😀

So Many Projects!!!

Hey Everyone!

I don’t have much for today, I have been focused on a few other things. I want to tackle a couple projects, and I’m trying to think of the best ways to go about it all. My wife and I want to make three bookcases that will be permanently on on attic walls. The issue with having someone else do it, is the money. It was quoted to be $1,700, which is probably very fair. I can’t help but think I could do it with some help for cheaper. Of course I could, I wouldn’t be paying for labor. How they would turn out I have no idea, I’ve never done it.

The other thing I really want done is to finish squaring up my front steps with cement. After that I need to paint them and the rest of the porch rail. Following that I want to rip up the existing outdoor carpeting on the porch and replace it, as well as have it go over the stairs. I want it over the stairs for added protection from the weather. These are the two main things I want to get done, that seem to be in reach.

The things that aren’t in my reach at the moment are the waterproofing of my basement that was quoted at about $7,700. That will have to wait until next spring, but it is on the tippy top of our list. We would like to get the driveway paved, and we looked into that too. The quote we got was for $3,000 which is again just out of reach. We have also looked into central air, since our furnace is already set up for it. I think they were in the ball park a a couple thousand as well. I think we would only need the outside unit and a new thermostat. I would like to insulate and board up my garage. I ran the numbers and that would be about $650. Lastly I would like to have our new fence painted the same red as the other fence and out deck. I have no idea what that would cost, but it would be cheaper to do on our own.

So with all of this swirling around in my head, on top of caring for a newborn, I’m a bit lost on where to begin. It is good for me to write this all out, and I’m glad I am. I just haven’t been able to worry about finding other content for today.

Real quick though, we have a Masonic degree being conferred tonight, that will be fun as always. This Saturday we have our company picnic, at a water park, and will be bringing baby Everett. Sunday will be filled with more softball. Hopefully we will have the weather we desire and make a great time of it all!

That’s it for me today. I hope you are enjoying your hump day and I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀
