Monday Photo Dump!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the start of the week! We did quite a bit this weekend. Friday we went to Pizza Hut with my parents for dinner and Everett was being a normal goofball.

Saturday morning we headed back to the cabin. We are hoping to have the beds in before the start of the hunting season. We added stairs to the front and added boards to the ceiling. Some of the wall pieces are missing, because they are all pieces we have to cut to a custom size.

This area will be the bed room, with bunks on the right and left.

This next one is looking from the kitchen area to the bedroom. We have that half wall up to divide the room.

While I was at camp my wife’s two friends came into town. One of them has a little three month old. We got ready and went to the county fair for a few hours.

Next is a must have golf cart. Just sayin. πŸ˜€

Towards the end we lowered Everett’s stroller and he passed right out!

Sunday we went out to visit my wife’s dad. He has been in a nursing home for a little bit now. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a while ago and can no longer live on his own. It is pretty sad because he isn’t very old. He remembers us and Everett and loves holding him.

We were able to meet with his wife and their kid Remi and take him to the courtyard. The kids ran around like crazy.

The lady in the wheelchair is Lois. She has sort of been watching over my wife’s dad while people aren’t around. She came out with us and loved seeing the boys.

Everett and Uncle Remi are playing here with some cars on the little bench.

Later to round out the day and make the most out of it we met with her grandparents and brother’s family for lunch. It was at a very nice golf course in the area. They have great food and service.

If you have your volume on you can hear Everett slurp up his noodles haha. if you look close you can even see his top teeth! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Once we got home, we got in our comfy clothes and watched some New Girl. Everett has been looking though his legs so my wife was doing it too and he was laughing hysterically.

That was our weekend! We did a lot and it was, like always, worth it. I hope you had a great weekend too! I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Photography Contest!

Hey Everyone!

First let me start out by saying that things seem to be ironed out with our baby sitter. She did not pic up when I called last night, but she did call me right back. I’m not sure if we believe her or not about not getting the other messages but the fact she called and spoke with me helped tremendously. I cleared the air about the tax thing and talked to her for a good 40 minutes.

Everett is still sick and has a small fever today so we may be keeping him home again tomorrow. He is still super active and having fun at home. My wife sent me this picture of him today.

At face value it doesn’t look like much, but if you look a bit longer you can see that he is standing on his own. He pulled himself up that jumper and is holding on alone. That is awesome or scary depending on how you take it haha. I think it is awesome!

Speaking about my wife, she entered some photography thing created by Shoot & Share. I think she just did it for fun without any real thoughts or feelings about making it very far. That being said she received a message today saying that they are down to the last 10.3% of photos entered in 25 categories. To scale this they started with 412,379 entries. With 10.3% left that means that there are only 42,543 entries left.Β  The contest has had 57 million votes and they this is the last week to vote. That is pretty exciting! There are prizes for the top 3 entries in each of the 25 categories. I think it is cool that she has made it this far in a public contest. Her pictures are great and I hope one day that we can get into a situation where she can do this for a living. Right now we just have too many things to pay for and not enough money to do it haha.Β  Even if she can get a better job with set hours and have some side time to pursue her photography career. We will have to wait and see. πŸ˜€

Oh if you were interested in looking at the contest and voting you can go to

I didn’t realize how big of a contest this really was haha.

If you want to check out some of my wife’s work you can checkΒ  her photography Instagram: Here!

Or her Facebook page: Here!

I guess this is a “Pimp My Wife” post haha I’m ok with it. πŸ˜€

That is all for me today! I hope you all have a great Tuesday, and I’ll do the same! C-ya tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Children International Welcome Package!

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday I got my small package from Children International!

It was really a thick envelope haha. Inside was folder full of information, most of which I already found out via their website.

They sent a somewhat personalized letter, a window decal and printouts of my sponsor child.

I have the decal on my window at work and took the bigger picture for my desk. I was excited to to receive it. Oh one more thing, they sent a pre paid envelope and a structured letter to send. So I was able to send a second letter.

On to the rest of the week! It is jam packed and will kind of suck haha. Tonight my dad ans I are going to visit a Masonic lodge in another state. They are performing a 3rd degree, which is the final one. They have different rituals and they are fun to witness I have heard. Tonight I will find out. It will be a late night though and that is the bad part. The same goes for tomorrow, we have a meeting that will last a little bit, and be a late night yet again. Today at work I found out that my one co-worker will be off on Thursday and I’m the lucky one that gets to cover her YAY! So after my late Wednesday I’ll have to be to work super early the next day. This puts a strain on my wife to get our baby ready and to daycare by herself. To follow Thursday we have Friday, which is also a little wonky. My wife has to drop her car off at the garage in the morning so we have to get up earlier than normal. She is going to drop the car off and take me to work and the baby to day care, again all while having her own stuff. It is going to be a busy week that’s for sure. I won’t be able to pump out a post Thursday, since I’ll be cover for my co-worker.

I know that was a fairly long and informative paragraph but it stresses how much runnin around I have this week. haha

For now I’m just going to finish the day off strong and get things done here at work.

I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you all then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Wedding & Productive Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

I would like to start off by saying sorry for missing Friday’s post. Whoopsies! In all seriousness I didn’t for get I was tasked with a really difficult project. It has all been sorted out as of this morning but it was something I was not very familiar with, so it took a while. It was a macro enabled Excel sheet that got all jacked up from the latest Office update. I has to go through the VBA code with the guy who wrote it and figure out what we could do. It really did take all day haha.

Secondly I want to send a shout out to Riley, from Riley’s Backpack! A while back you might remember him and his friends wanted to raise enough money on their Go Fund Me page to renew their domain and keep it ad free. I helped them out with what I could, and in return He send me a hand written letter. I wanted to say thank you and let you know you did indeed get my name correct haha πŸ˜€

Saturday the little family and I went to a wedding! It was not just any wedding, it was her father’s wedding to his long time girlfriend. They now have a baby boy well over one year old and finally got hitched. You can see all three of them below.

I know it isn’t the best picture but our little buddy kept getting fussy and we did end up leaving sooner than we intended to. It was a quaint little wedding in a nice Catholic church. The reception was on the lake in a really nice dining hall. The trip was a bit lengthy and I wasn’t super fond of that but it was all worth it.

Before we went to the wedding we stopped for lunch at my wife’s grandparent’s house. He had pumpkins waiting for him and wanted pictures with him up on his tractor. So that is what went down. Here is a shot of Everett Hugh and his great grandfather Francis Hugh!

Once we got home that evening we hit the hay.

Sunday started out pretty lazy, as intended, but wound up being quite productive. We didn’t quite have a frost but it was damn close. We had some morning coffee from our new coffee bar, and watched Netflix in our pajamas. We did have quite a bit to do and honestly got most of it done. We had your standard weekend cleaning, on top of laundry since we were gone the whole day before. I took out all the trash, hung Halloween lights, and mowed the grass. Later in the day I had a lady come look at the pellet stove I am selling, and I hope to hear back from her soon. My parents came over and brought Chinese for dinner. That was a great way to round out the weekend.

On a, probably over protective note, our boy has what looks like a small red-ish rash looking spot on his chin. Since we were around a bunch of people recently we don’t want him to have anything wrong with him. You hear all of the horror stories about babies getting bad viruses and we really hope it is nothing. I think I’ll call the doctor after lunch.

Again I apologies for missing Friday but I’ll be back again tomorrow. I’ll see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

College Ball, Pig Roast, & Camping!

Hey Everyone!

I’m back after a nice long weekend. It was a bit cold the first two days but we made the best of it!

Saturday we met up at my dad’s house, like we planned. People started to arrive around noon, for some good food and college football. It was the coldest day this weekend, which made watching the games outside a bit more difficult, but we managed.

My dad’s old referee buddies came and we had ribs and homemade BBQ sauce, it was all delicious. We watched Penn State blow out Akron and Texas get beat out by Maryland. They stayed to watch the Michigan game but I was too cold and went back home.

Sunday was another big day. We got up and got ready to head to my wife’s dad’s house. He was having a big pig roast! We got there around noon-ish, and there were already a bunch of people there.

Here is a shot of our baby boy being held by his soon to be “grandmother.”

Here he is with his great grandfather. Our boy’s middle name is his middle name. He is a great man with a better head on his shoulders.

Here is what we were there for!

Above is a 120lb pig, chickens, and baked potatoes. On the side they boiled five dozen ears of corn from my grandfather in-law’s fields. We stopped off at the grandparents house after the pig roast and grabbed some more vegetables, and what not. It was a late night and we got home just in time for bed.

Monday we had a campfire cookout at our camp. We also got the peaks covered and brought out the door and frame we are going to use.

We had a little guest in the cabin when we first got there! He ran off fairly fast.

Like you saw we had camp food, and relaxed around a nice fire to keep the bugs away. We all can’t wait to finish that cabin up a bit more to move stuff inside. It was a busy weekend that was full of family, great food and good football! Can’t beat that.

Coming up this week, we come off of our Masonic ‘summer break’ and have a meeting and initiation tomorrow. I also have to come in early and cover for my co-worker on Thursday.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, as we did. I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Errors, Dentists, & Last Night Home!

Hey Everyone!

This is my Friday! After work I am headed out to my family reunion for a week! I won’t be back on WordPress until the 17th, man that will seem like a long time! Yes, all of those sentences deserve exclamation points haha.

Yesterday, while I was still at work, I ran into this beauty of an error.

I have been setting up a virtual machine on my work PC to practice penetration testing. I Am using Oracle’s Virtual Box, only because I’m following a tutorial. I am working on getting a version of Kali Linux to work, well trying! when I finally get to the point of starting my virtual machine it crashes, gives me this error, and restarts my computer. RIP. I have updated my drivers and will try again after writing this. If it doesn’t work I’ll try using VM Ware instead. Now that you are bored out of your minds I’ll tell you about my dentist appointment lol.

Looking at my chart you would either think I never brush my teeth, or I have soft teeth. I really hope you came to the conclusion that I have soft teeth on your own! I could never eat sweets and brush three times a day and I’ll still have a damn cavity. My little brother has eaten shitty food his whole life and just recently had his first cavity. I generally have a healthy diet and always have cavities.

I was surprised the last two times I went because I was cavity free. Well it loos like it caught back up with me. I have two cavities, one on each upper side. It will take about one hour to get them both fixed in one sitting, but I’d rather just be done with it so I’ll sit through it. I’m not a huge fan of the dentist but I’ve become ok with them since I have had this happen so often. :/

I left the dentist and went to pick my baby boy up from daycare. I grabbed him and took him into work so my co-workers could see him for the first time. A few of them will be sad they missed it, oh well. I took him home and it must have wiped him out because he was sound asleep in his swing like this:

Since my wife and I have been dead dog tired in the morning. We haven’t enjoyed a proper breakfast in a while. So we decided to have one for dinner haha.

It really hit the spot. I make hers with cheese on the eggs and butter on the bagel. We tried a different kind of bacon and I enjoyed the taste. I think we may switch to that brand for good.

Soon after I had to shave my face, and pack my bags. Nothing like waiting until the last night to get it all done. Luckily I don’t need much to survive for a week. I grabbed my Ukulele, my nerd backpack with a hammock, a tent, sleeping bag, clothes, and a game called Kubb.

I’ll elaborate on that Kubb game a bit. Better yet I found a decent video on it:

We play slightly different, very slight, but the main rules are there. You can buy these games online or make your own. My dad made three sets, one for him, one for me, and one for my brother. We were introduced to this game at a family reunion in the past so it is only appropriate that I bring a set!

Like I said before, I’ll take some pictures and have a ton to report, when I get back. I can’t wait to start my vacation and see all of my family members! I’ll see you on the 17th! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

This Half Week Better Fly By!

Hey Everyone!

I am getting very excited for this family reunion! I am having a really hard time concentrating at work today. As a small update from Friday, I went shopping with my mom and pretty much got a whole new working wardrobe! I went from an XL shirt to M, I went from 38 waist pants to about a 35, and picked up some shoes and socks as well. It was a huge relief to have that all taken care of. She even picked up the tab on my dog food, woo!

I think Saturday my wife and I tried our hand at homemade ice cream. We had received an ice cream maker as a wedding gift over two years ago and hadn’t found the time to use it. (We also have a popcorn maker I need to try πŸ˜‰ ) Anyway, we gave it a shot with a simple peanut butter recipe my wife found online.

I don’t have the recipe handy, but it was simple. Mix the crap in a bowl: Check!

Pour it in this thing: Check!

Let it spin around for 30 minutes, and chop up your Reese’s: Check!

Put the Reese’s in for the last minute or two and you are good to go!

A little peanut butter goes a long way. This wasn’t over bearing at all but too much could really give you a tummy ache. I was pleased with how it turned out for our first try. We want to do it more often.

The rest of my weekend included playing a ton of video games, while my wife and son watched Harry Potter on the futon in the Office/Attic.

I mainly have been playing Rocket League and Rainbow Six: Siege. When I get mad at one I play the other, because they are total opposites haha. If I’m doing poorly in the one I’m better at the other. I am by far better at first person shooter games (FPS) than I am at driving around in a rocket car but I am competitive in each.

In Rocket League the ranks are like this:

They read as follows (any level) 1 being the worst 3 being the best, again with in that level. I am currently here:

To be in the middle of the pack I should be Gold three or Plat one, so I’m just under where I would like to be. It is hard in these low-ish ranks to find good, random team mates to rank up. I play solo games with two random other people on my team so it is hard to find decent people, in low ranks.

Rainbow Six rankings are the opposite, you’ll see what I mean. Here is how they rank:

Yikes that might be hard to see. In any bracket/level,Β  4 is the worst and 1 is the best. In this image the best of the best is the far left (Diamond) I am here:

As you can see I am above average in my rank here. I only need to advance 6 ranks to be diamond. That will absolutely not happen, but it is closer than in Rocket League haha. I don’t have the time to dedicate to rank up higher. I am much better with tactics and shooting games. It was fun getting to play some ranked games this weekend. I won’t be able to even be on a computer for the next week, which is welcomed.

I am hoping that everything until after work Wednesday fly’s by! I am ready for a vacation. I hope to see you all back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Saturday Work Bee

Back Again!

After we left the Potter Fest we headed to the work bee!

My work for the after noon was to refinish these three chairs. I gave them a fresh coat of blue!

Here we have our solar lights getting a good charge, and the tent up for dining. We serve the food out of the garage all week.

Here is a sneak peak of everything in that big back yard!

We have my cousin repainting some chairs for the 11 children under 6 years old, coming this year!

My dad was tasked with pressure wash all the old tables and chairs.

My mother was cleaning some of the many toys and play things. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Here is a shot of just how big the yard is. We will all camp out around the perimeter.

Sunday we stayed home all day and hung out with our baby. My wife had to go back to work today so she wanted to just stay home and snuggle him, and that’s what she did! I woke up and eventually made a good hearty breakfast! I made us some scrambled eggs with pepper and onion, as well as bacon, bagels and homemade hash browns.

Lastly here is my boy on his first day going to his daycare! It has been a big day full of emotion.I dropped him off this morning and will see how it all went after work! πŸ˜€

Thanks for sticking around! I’ll be back tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Potter Fest 2017

Hey Everyone!

We had a very busy Saturday. We went to a “Potter Fest” in a small town. It was a couple hour drive, but it was a great day.

There were little shops throughout the town that had some Harry Potter themed items. The bars and wineries had themed drinks. Some of the shop workers dressed up as witches and wizards. Other vendors had tents out with activities for children. Here a some pictures of the event:

These guys went all out. They had taps with themed drinks, right outside.

Here they had a tent set up where you could craft your own wand and get your face painted.

Afterwards we stopped at a restaurant called “My Brother’s Place” It is a pretty decent sized place right in Grove City.Β  It was really country themed with a ton of rough cut wood on the walls. We chose to sit out side for a few reasons. We didn’t want our kid to ball his eyes out inside, it was a beautiful day, and we wanted to check out their deck.

I ordered a sandwich called “Kinda like a Philly.” It was a cheese steak with cheddar cheese, onions bacon, and fried pepperoni. The pepperoni threw me for a bit but it was ultimately a good meal. They also had Bud Light for $1 all day everyday. You can’t beat that price haha.

Soon after we headed out to our work bee, to prepare for the up coming family reunion!

Thanks for reading/looking! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Company & Birthday Surprise

Hey Everyone!

My co-worker is finally back from his trip to Europe, and things may be getting back to normal, as soon as next week!

Yesterday we had a ‘Cost of Living’ meeting. In this meeting we go over what we project the rates to be for the year and they decide whether or not we get an increase to meet those standards. Well we found out that we will all be getting a 1.75% increase to keep up with the predicted trend! That’s a pretty decent increase. That will be more than a few hundred dollars added to our pay yearly.

We also officially welcomed our newly acquired company, J Tech! They were here with some of their highway safety trucks and what not. We also got some sweet shirts and hats for taking them on!

Here is their, pretty cool brand video!

When I got home I noticed that the last piece of my wife’s birthday present had arrived. Instead of make her wait until her birthday, which is when I will be at my reunion, I let her open those gifts last night. πŸ˜€ (Don’t mind our non renovated basement)

I bought her a back drop stand, clamps for the back drops, 5 different backdrops, two lights, and a reflector. When we do start work on our basement, this room will be white and outfitted for photography. My wife will be able to ave a small home studio in there.

Since she goes back to work Monday I wanted her to be able to have this before then as well. I would say she liked it because these are the photos I was sent earlier today. πŸ˜€

So it looks like he will be her test subject and her little “Potter Head” for a while.

Here at work I am busy setting up PC’s, ordering stock for the coming months, and catching up with my co-worker on all things, work related and trip related.

I hope you have enjoyed your stay with me today and I’ll see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
