Birthday, Cabin, & Dam!

Hey Everyone!

We had a very busy weekend. It all kicked off Saturday morning. My wife got up and got ready to go visit with her dad and get her hair done. Everett and I were flying solo most of the day.  Once the both of us got ready we headed out my niece Rory’s second birthday party! It was pink and Minnie Mouse themed in many ways.

She got a nice 6V four wheeler that Everett and the others were all curious about.

2a

Being a bit shy, like he is, he stayed away from most of the other kids. I think a lot of it has to do with the small age difference. It won’t matter in a year but right now they are talking and running around better than him still. He did get some one on one time with that four wheeler though haha.

4

I plopped him down on it twice and pushed the button to make it go for him, while we drove it around in the grass. He seemed to like riding it. Later we headed over to the nearby play ground for some more fun. Here is Everett, who climbed up the stairs on his own, and his cousin Rory.

5

Then my brother Nathan followed Everett through the tube haha. Everett wasn’t sure what to think about that.

6

This was his way of telling me that he wanted to go down the slide.

7

We hit that slide about 20 times. Then just another shot of him climbing those stairs again.

8

My grandparents came down too. They were at our other cousins second birthday party just before and made it down to Rory’s. Everett was trying to put his great grandpa’s cane in his cup holder haha.

9

Here is my grandma holding my other niece Bridget who is just over two months old, and my dad and brother holding Everett.

10

Rory and Everett were on a path right to each other in this picture.Rory tried to kinda hug/kiss him in passing haha.

11

Then just real quick another picture of my baby niece! 😀

12

Everett and I finished out the night doing some laundry then hanging out at my parents place so they could see him some more.

Sunday we had quite a bit going on. I headed out to camp only for a couple hours, since what my dad decided to do with the ceilings looks terrible. We made progress never the less. My brother’s friend Dave came to help out as well.

13

We added 24 more cross supports to attempt a flat ceiling. This is where we all got mad. My dad decided that we wont’ put the boards flush and that they will just overlap and be rounded. Which is very ugly and we all hate it but he doesn’t seem to care. :/

14

Here you cal see that they are just putting them up and leaving the extra. Why? Again, no one knows. Its ugly.

Later I met with my wife while my mom watched Everett at home, for some pictures. She want to start advertising ‘Adventure Themed’ engagement and wedding pictures. She got a sister of a friend of hers to come down after their wedding to get these taken. I take some behind the scene shots for her to have as well.

The last spot in that tour was at a boat launch where we put them in a row boat and I took the drone up and took some shots from above that I don’t have back yet. We mad it home, had some dinner, and got ready for bed.

I told you we were busy haha. I hope you had a great weekend, I know we did. I’ll be back again tomorrow, hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Productive Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend, in my opinion was great! I had a real blast. Saturday I waited until about 11am, when the weather was starting to get nice and decided to tackle the garage project. I desperately wanted to get this looking better. As you may recall I bought 8 sheets of plywood from Lowes and was just waiting for a decent day. Here are two before pictures from the left and right sides respectively.

I was able to use all 8 sheets with some leftovers that just didn’t fit anywhere, so I was right on when guessing how much I would need. It took me about 7 solid hours to get it all done by myself. Let me tell you, it isn’t fun lifting an 8 foot long sheet of plywood 4 feet alone, while climbing a step ladder. It was rewarding to see it all up though. (and organized)

There were a few hard spots when I had quite a few cutouts and some difficulty trying not to pinch the wires for the garage door, but over all I’m very satisfied.

Everett and my wife came out to see me a couple times and see the progress, but he was trying to eat rocks, sooooo he went back inside haha.

Sunday I was going to keep the ball rolling. I wanted to go get paint for the fence and start it. That was quickly changed as I got word that we were going to have some hitting practice for softball this summer. I still wanted to get paint so I headed back to Lowes and got 5 gallons of close matching paint. I brought a piece that was the color I wanted and they tried a color match. It turned out a little more brown than red, but it is pretty close.

I got home just in time to turn around and go hit some balls. For the next two hours I got in some much needed practice, and got all the kinks out. Hopefully I’ll be ready for the opening season tourny on the 5th and 6th.

Since I had been doing a bunch of stuff on my own, we decided to go take some pictures of Everett with mommy, to get some much needed quality time with my family. We headed to a  local park and I took some pictures of the two of them. They aren’t edited so I don’t have any to show you, but I do have a couple cell phone pictures behind the scenes haha.

On the way home I was driving behind this guy and this really neat car. I have seen it around town quite a bit and made my wife get a picture. If you look in the top left of this picture you can see it was a nice day.

9

If you weren’t aware my little boy hit the 11 month old mark Sunday as well. He is a growing boy now. We also saw the first sign of a real tooth on Sunday too!! It looked like a piece of food on his gum and upon further inspection it was a real tooth! I’m not sure we are ready for our boy to have a toothy smile haha.

That is all from me today. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, I know I did! 😀 😀

Fun Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

So this weekend (more Saturday) didn’t go fully as planned but was still a good time. My wife was sick and it only got worse. The plan was to take her to her friends baby shower, then the dinos, lastly the photo shoot. What actually happened was, We got to the baby shower, only to hand over the gift and head to the walk in clinic. My wife found out that she had a sinus infection and needed an antibiotic. The time we had left between the two events we spent at her mom’s house trying to let her sleep, which didn’t work too well because she has crazy dogs. :/

When she got up and moving we headed to the dinosaur event. We knew Everett couldn’t really do anything, but we wanted to get him this exposure. I also want us to get used to planning trips like this so that we are used to it when he is old enough to do things. IT was a pretty neat event I took too many pictures so I’ll collage them below:

And for a special at the end…….I got a video of the crazy games that they kids were playing in the back. Enjoy this short bit of crazy!

We were able to make the photo shoot and I think it went well. It was an engagement shoot for a friend of hers. It was back in our college town, and that holds great memories for all of us. She now has to edit and get those pictures out, but good news is that with this payment she can buy her own domain. She is really working on getting her site built and her social media in working order. I’ll update you when I can.

Keeping on photography for a second, and mentioning something. My wife and I are taking a tip over memorial day week. We are heading to her Uncle’s house in Colorado! That being said, she is in a few photography groups and they sometimes swap sessions. She had interest from a photographer in Nebraska and it happens to be on our way to Colorado. If we can get it to line up we may stop in Omaha and exchange family photos sessions! That is pretty stinkin cool.

Sunday was a lazy sleepy, laundry, movie type of day. We watched three kids movies, napped, and did nothing haha. SO that is all from me.

I hope you all had a great weekend. I hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Discover The Dinosaurs!

Hey Everyone!

I have been keeping very busy at work, which is a great thing. It makes my entire day go by so fast! I am already ready for the weekend haha. I have been working some more on the UPS upgrades at work and even created a nice spreadsheet to present my work when the time comes. I have also been working closely with a company in Florida, to repair and replace our IBM terminals in the shop. They are old and have to be, to work with our somewhat dated system. Lastly I have finally placed my April order to replace workstation PCs, and even got some monitors and battery backups! 😀 I kinda squeeze those things in sometime for stock purposes. If someone needs something I try my best to have it.

Speaking of the weekend a bit ago, our Saturday just went from fairly dull to something I am looking forward to. My wife has a baby shower in the morning for one of her friends so I’ll travel with her to that and just kinda hang out. Afterwards, I just bought tickets to “Discover The Dinosaurs: Time Trek” It will be at a local convention center. I’m not sure Everett will ever remember such a thing, but it fills the time gap that we have.

DinoEblast.jpg

Here is the write up for the event:

At Discover the Dinosaurs: Time Trek, you’ll be transported through our special Time Lab where you can observe enormous prehistoric dinosaurs and glimpse at mythological, magical dragons. This experience is all about hands-on family fun! Kids will love the larger-than-life creatures, and activities like Design-a-Dino, Prehistoric Poop, or the Race Through Time Labyrinth will keep everyone entertained. Families can compete in the Cretaceous Challenge Zone, visit the Time Trek Theater to meet baby dinosaurs, and test their dino-knowledge in our family and individual trivia contests.

PLUS at our Dragon Edition events, we’ve incorporated famous dragons and lore from three very distinct cultures – dragon legends are thought to have started with the discovery of unknown dinosaur fossils!”

I think it will be pretty neat. I’m not really going in with any expectations, so i can’t really be disappointed haha. I’ll be sure to take some pictures and show you all what it was like.

After that fun, my wife scheduled a photo shoot with a couple. We will meet them at the desired upon location around 6:30pm and then travel home. So you can see we really packed that day with plenty to see and do.

On another note I was please to receive a phone call from the garage door people, telling me that they came to my house and fixed my door! I’ll get the bill in the mail, but they fixed it! It hasn’t worked since we moved in over a year ago, and I just got around to having it fixed. I have been picking it up and putting it down this whole time for my wife. It will be amazing to click a button and have it actually work haha. they changed out the gear box and attached the missing arm that connects the motor to the door. They were going to go back and apply weather stripping to the sides to eliminate the gaps on the sides. I’m not sure I have ever been this excited about a garage that I don’t even get to park in. 😀 😀

That is all for me today, I hope you enjoyed the post. I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Moving Forward!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend we went back, yet again to my wife’s grandparent’s house. She had a photo shoot late in the day, so we came up and made a day of it. I made a cost breakdown sheet of the floor plans we were looking at and contacted the sales rep to verify pricing, and time frames. This information was presented to her grandfather, so that we could all be on the same page as to what we were looking for and how much we were willing to potentially spend, or buy.

We are a little uneasy with what comes next. He wants to see if we would be able to get approved for the amount needed on our own, which is what we wanted to avoid if at all possible. Only because we don’t want some unforeseen, bad thing to happen and leave us with two mortgage payments.  We would not be able to pay both. The idea is that he is going to deed us the land, gift us $25,000, and he will pay the mortgage if there is any over lap between selling our house and that one being complete. This is all great in theory, I just hope it plays out that way. I’m not a fan of uncertainty, at least not on this scale. We have worked hard to have what we do, and if we were to get stuck with two payments for whatever reason that would ruin us for a while.

On the other hand, if we are unable to get the loan even with all the help he would then resort to putting it down himself and letting us buy it from him. We still would rather this method, but if he wants us to try the other way first we really can’t argue. So it seems like things are moving in the direction that we want them to. I’m not sure of any time frames, but we were told not to wait if we wanted it all to be complete by next winter.

So it begins.

Like I said before, my wife met with her client around sundown for better lighting, and she took some nice engagement photos. We came home right after that and relaxed the rest of the evening.

Sunday was a day of house chores, mainly laundry. I sat down, while folding laundry and watched the Netflix series “Everything Sucks” It was really good! I went in to it not knowing what to expect. I thought that I would turn it off after one episode, instead I watched the whole season haha. There are no super famous actors, which I love, and it tackles some tough issues, that highschoolers are facing today. If you have a chance I would recommend watching it.

Today is the first day back at work since the time change….and it sucks. I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon, but blah for now.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

It is 7:54 am and I remembered! I came into this day knowing I had a lot going on. I have get a few things to my boss and continue the deployment of a couple PCs. I also have to contact the modular home company that we may be using, to get a quote for a house with and without a basement. In that same area I have to get a hold of our friend who would be willing to do our basement for us. Once we have all this information and are good on our end we will pass it on to her grandfather. From there he will see if he is able to do it for us 100% and with any luck it will start rolling! Then everything will be a big ol’ mess haha. Here is the plan we are looking at:

20180309_075917.jpg

It isn’t big, but it is bigger than what we have believe it or not. We would go without the garage for the time being and add a double later on.

Other than that, Happy Friday! We made it. Do you have anything going on this weekend? I know here in the east we are getting hit with another round of snowstorms, so we may stay in most of the weekend. Although, my wife has an engagement photo shoot scheduled for Saturday. The couple wanted snow pictures, so what better weekend haha.We have to travel a bit to get there, but we may go earlier and head to the book store to make a day of it.

I hope this work day slides right on through, so I can start my weekend! I’ll see you all again Monday! 😀 😀

Normal Thursday!

Hey Everyone!

We had another quiet evening at home last night. Everett slept a bit better last night so that was nice. I was even able to squeeze in a a few games of Rainbow 6.

Tonight our new plumber comes I hope he quotes us lower than the other guys. Fingers crossed.

Everything else in life is slow going, it seems. All projects are on hold for monetary reasons. Soon to be weather reasons as well haha. We are still hoping to have the basement waterproofed this spring, and I would like to spray our fence with stain this summer. This of course on top of finishing up the garage.

This weekends plans have been expanded. Sunday we are going to my wife’s families place to get a few pictures of Everett with his cousin Cater. We will double up and get some family shots as well. This being said I need a hair cut badly, after my botch job from the time before. You know, when I looked like Jim Carey from Dumb and Dumber! haha 😀 It is funny now but man was it awful in the moment.

I have started watching the first season of Travelers on Netflix. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet but it could grow on me. If it does I hope that they keep making more seasons of it. With my luck I will like it and then it will never be renewed.

That is really all I have for today. That is the thing about a real life blog, is that not every day can be full of fun and entertaining things. That is too bad huh?

Anyway I’ll be back tomorrow morning for “Coffee Talk” I’ll see you then! 😀 😀

Weekend Trek & Minecraft

Good Monday Afternoon!

I have my Pandora station set to Linkin Park, and I’m ready to go.

Friday evening I played two games of softball for the co-ed end season tournament. Again as a fill in for my brothers team I don’t have to do much. They had me extra hit, since I know how to. I generally hit in the 4 hole or 5 hole depending on what team I’m on. This is a spot for power hitters, and I guess that is what I am. I use that DeMarini 30oz monster bat, and hit the sh*t out of the ball. I don’t really spend time on ball placement. I generally hit to the left side as I am right handed. My main goal is to first make contact, then hit it very hard. This works out most times. I have a pretty good swing and on top of that I do a quick hop step and put my body behind the swing. Anyway we won both games. It started to pour in between games though and the second game was a muddy mess. I let the guy in charge know that I wouldn’t be there the rest of the tournament. I had decided that since they were only going to EH me that my time would be better spent going back with my wife to her families place.

Saturday she had a photo shoot planned with a friend of hers from grad school. We wanted to go to Butter Milk falls in Erie, PA. The only thing was, none of us knew where it was. There isn’t a path or trail to it so we had to kind of wing it. We went to Asbury Woods and got on a trail that would get us close. We had to walk up the creek bed quite a ways to get to the falls. We had a drone two cameras and a client with us so that was interesting. She was a great sport and everything did go smoothly. I would have pictures but my wife hasn’t had a chance to edit them yet. If you do want to see some of her photography check it out here:  http://www.facebook.com/jordyntrisketphotography . It took longer than she expected and were didn’t get to any other spots, but we had plenty of good pictures to use. When we got back we got some ice cream and headed back to my wife’s grandparents house.

We finished out the night watching some of the Olympic games. The next day we got up and headed to my brother in-laws baby gender reveal. They had it in a barn down the road. They had balloons in box and opened it to reveal that they are having a …………………….

.

Baby.

.

.

Boy! haha

She was expecting a girl and was pleasantly surprised when she found out that it was a boy. Up until that point they both didn’t know the gender. It was revealed to her mother and then they set this all up.

As for the Minecraft update. I have been doing work! I expanded my horse stalls and doubled the size of my house. I made a tiered fireplace, made a village, and spruced up my garden:

mine6mine7mine8mine9mine10mine11

Tada!

That’s all for now!

I have a few PCs to set up, I’ll see you all tomorrow! 😀 😀
