I hope you are all having a wonderful morning. I remembered to write this post so that instantly puts me in a decent mood haha. I have one cup of coffee under my belt, or in my stomach for you literal types, and I’m ready to go.
While having coffee it is imperative that you talk about the weather. Out weather went from -15 to + 50 in one day. It is insane. We had more than a foot of snow and over the course of two warm days it is all gone. Here is the kicker, tonight and over the weekend we are getting another foot of snow, DOH! Make up your mind mother nature. I’m hoping your weather trends are less harsh.
On a Friday whilst drinking coffee with your friend you are also obligated to talk about any plans you may have for the weekend. I’m fairly certain that some one on my mom’s side of the family is getting married and we said we would go. We don’t see them often, probably for good reason, but it is nice to get a dose of them here and there haha. I think most of you can relate to something similar.
Lastly, if you have a family of your own you have to catch the other person up on what has transpired since you last spoke. In this case, Everett is doing much better. He is getting over his yeast infection, croup, and ear infection nicely. He is as happy as could be, somehow, and growing like a (good) weed. In other somewhat family news a little while back, my brother and sister in law announced that they are having another baby. So I will have another niece or nephew in about 7 months. Yippie!
Then you have the always awkward park, when your are both done with your coffee and realized you ran out of things to talk about. You say “Welp…” get up and pay your bill. Say your good byes and head on your way, until next time. I’ll see ya then! Have a good weekend. 😀 😀
This weekend we were able to visit our little nephew. He is super tiny only weighing 4lbs 13oz. It was nice to go back and see everyone. We ate at a Mad Mex restaurant in the mall while we were there. It was really quite good. I hadn’t been there yet because I heard that some of the food wasn’t that great. We had a very nice meal there. The atmosphere was calm and the lighting was dim. The music was well pretty bad, as it didn’t fit the space. The food was delicious and very fresh. The only real thing, other than the music, was that the wait staff was a bit slow. We didn’t look at it as such a negative only because it gives us more time to relax and spend some time with one another. We later went to the mall and hit a few shops.
Sunday night we of course watched the Steelers play the Cowboys in a knock out of a game. My Boys came away with the victory but it wasn’t easy. There were 7 different lead changes in the game and it all came down to the last 30 or so odd seconds. The Steelers took the lead and left us with about 40 seconds. With a couple of decent passes we were in field goal range, with a chance to win. Surprisingly the defense got sloppy and awarded us with a 15 yard penalty for a face mask. This put us in a much better range. We still had one play left with a time out to stop the clock. Clearly you would run so you don’t throw an unwanted interception. Zeke got the ball and ran it straight up the gut for 6 points. That was that. It was well fought and a tough game but really fun to watch regardless. The Steelers at this point aren’t in contention for anything in the post season. The Cowboys are on pace to win the Super Bowl. The last time they won 8 games in a row was in 1977 and they won the whole thing that year, so hopes are high.
Today has been a bit stressful. One week from today we close on our house!!!! I have been working on calling all the utility places and getting accounts set up and trying to figure out how to use their online services. It isn’t that it is hard, rather it is just annoying and new. I get to feeling a bit overwhelmed since I have never done anything like this before. I don’t know how much each bill is going to be and I mainly don’t want to mess anything up. I really don’t want to get in over my head and ruin things. I get into my own head and constantly think the worst of situations that I don’t yet know the outcome of. Its not a good way to be but I fight though and usually everything ends up ok in the end. I welcome this hype to die down haha.
I hope you all had a great weekend and I’ll see you again tomorrow! 😀 😀
Friday is here and that means the weekend is upon us.
I have a few more things to finish up here, at work before I go. They are simple things that shouldn’t take too much time. I will be helping a co-worker rearrange their office, as well as performing “end of day” maintenance.
Later this evening my wife and I are heading back to her hometown. We are going to be shopping in Erie, Pa before we get their though. She has a few things she would like to pick up. Saturday we are going to meet up with her brother and his wife, to see our new nephew for the first time. I’ll be sure to get a picture or two. We will be coming back Saturday night. On Sunday the Steelers host the Cowboys, so our family will surely have a get together. If you have followed this blog for any amount of time you will know I am a die hard Cowboys fan, while the rest of my family likes the Steelers.
I found out yesterday that we will be closing on our new house on the 21st of this month. That is super exciting for us and we can’t wait to get everything moved. We still have to get the utilities in our name and things like that but the rest should be a breeze. It will be nice to finally have a place to call our own. We rented during college, lived on her grandfather’s land, and have stayed with my parents. This will be a huge first for us but we are ready for it. If I get any free time I’d like to get in a little squirrel hunting in. The season here closes on the 26th so I’ll be running out of time soon if I don’t get out now.
I have been watching a ton of Netflix recently. I watched every episode of Black Mirror. It is a great show about the darker side of technology and how any version of our world could be very different based on the technological advances were in the timeline. My wife and I started watching New Girl, which I have always been a fan of. I just never got through them all so I am rewatching them. I have been looking for another good series and I think I’ll start watching House of Cards. I watched the first episode and it was slow and boring so I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but from what I hear it is really good, so who knows.
That is about all I have for you today. I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll see you all on Monday! 😀 😀
I’m glad to see you all made it back. My weekend didn’t all go to plan but it was still a great time. Friday was gong to be a lazy evening which turned out to be quite eventful. My brother text me and asked if I’d like to come over and watch a movie with him and two of his friends. I agreed since my wife had some work to catch up on. We ended up watching ’13 Hours’ it was all about Benghazi. It is a really well made movie, and the fact that it is a true story is equally disturbing and interesting. His baby was a little cranky so it was a bit stressful, but we all mode it out in one piece lol.
Saturday my brother and I went out to my camp. We had full intentions to tear it all down to put up a small cabin. I got there and started having second thoughts. I had already had a ton of man hours into this camp and it really wasn’t in bad shape. We decided against tearing it down and worked on adding to it and fixing it up. We brought the chainsaw for extra support. I said I wouldn’t but thinking about how many times I’ve been able to get out there it was a must. We cut down 4 small trees and cut them to length for the one wall. My brother took my hatchet and put a point on all of the ends to later be hammered into the ground. We are going to stagger them in a row and then fill them with horizontal logs and debris. I cleared out the floor and fire place to make it look nicer. We also cut down a larger tree in the front. This will be where my fire pit will be. I need to go back and establish that and burn out the roots of that tree. Here are a few pictures for ya.
You can see that I will be stacking fire wood between those two trees, and that stump you see is where the outdoor fire pit will be. We are thinking that we will need about 12 more little trees to get the wall posts done. Then a handful more to finish the walls.
Later on Saturday we all went out to dinner with my dad for his 58th birthday. His birthday wasn’t until the next day, but it was the only time he could get all three of his kids together. We went to a Chinese buffet in the area. Afterwards we went back home and had some ice cream cake.
Sunday I got a lot done around the house. My wife wasn’t feeling well so I made breakfast and lunch, did the dishes, and kept all the animals fed. We were planning to go out and see our new baby nephew but his parents were stressed and super tired so we didn’t. The baby also was low weight and ended up back in the hospital that day anyway. He should be ok with some help. Since we didn’t go out and do anything I got some game time in before heading to our company league basket ball game. We played from 6pm until 8pm. I am absolutely terrible at basket ball, and it really shows. The good news is that it is all in fun and it is a great way to get in some exercise.
Our new work hours are 8-4:30pm now that we turned the clocks back. I would have thought that today would drag on and on but it hasn’t. It is gone by really fast and I’m not sure why, but I like it haha. I have been working on a use for a company tablet, as well as helping a few employees with minor issues. The rest of the day will be smooth and I’ll be out of here in no time.
That is about it for today. Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment and drop a like if you have enjoyed my post. I’ll see you all back here again tomorrow! 😀 😀
Here we are again, another Thursday afternoon (well for me). I am glad to let you all know that my sister in-law had her little baby Carter last night
He was born at 8:51 pm. He weighed 5 lbs 3 oz and was 18 inches long. My wife and I are very happy for them and hope to go see him as soon as we can.
Last night we had a stated Masonic meeting for the month of November. If you are a Mason you know that it is the month that we do a veteran appreciation program. If you didn’t know that, now you do. We had a good turn out with 20 or so members 8 or 9 of which are veterans. The program that we did outlined the wars that our country has endured as well as a proper flag folding. During the flag folding was spoken word about each fold as it happened. It was really quite interesting. Up until that night I didn’t know that each fold meant something different. At the end each one of our veteran brothers received a masonic pin thanking them for their service through out the years. All in all it was a really nice night.
Today hasn’t been anything to really talk about, but I have been losing interest in everything I try to do. I’m sure this is good for productivity. Every once in a while this happens to me. I start something and lose all interest in about 30 seconds. It is even hard to write this post. This usually goes away after a full day, but it kinda sucks when I can’t shake it. I ave just been trying to find something work related to keep me busy but so far nothing doing. I will continue after writing this but who knows what will come of it.
This weekend my brother and I plan on going out to my dad’s land and clearing my shelter and working on a small cabin. If we do anything significant I’ll take a picture for you. That is about all for today. I hope you all make it through to the weekend and have a great one! I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀
