Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I had every intention to post yesterday, I promise! You see, I ran into a bit of an issue with timing. I received a phone call early yesterday from my wife. She told me that she had trapped a mouse in our attic. The mouse was trapped under a Lego type toy bucket. Her plan was to leave it under there until I came home, 7 hours later…

I didn’t really think that was the best plan for the mouse or us. I left right when my lunch break started, and headed home. I was a nice husband and picked up an Iced Capp for my wife, and a couple of subs from Tim Horton’s. Once I got home I slid a thin cutting board under the bucket and took the mouse beyond our backyard and let it go in some brush.

We have a few traps set in the basement, and we got one the other day. I was hoping we were good, but that wasn’t the case apparently! I’ll keep the traps out for a while longer, as well as fill a couple small holes they may be trying to come in, near the foundation. Honestly I can’t find a real spot that they are coming in. The only reason, I think, it was in the attic was that the cat brought it up. I don’t really think they scaled the wall all the way up and found their way into the attic. I could be wrong but that’s my guess.

Anyway, I have realized that I have a ton of softball this next month! This weekend we have the end of season tournament for our Sunday league. Every Wednesday until the 18th we have practice for our company team. Next weekend I am pitching in a co-ed tournament. We may be entering our Sunday team into another one pitch tournament. Lastly, on the 18th we do have the huge Industrial Tournament (the one the practices are for) The ability that a couple of the teams I’m on have, may make it 4 + games each tournament. Most of which take place all in one day. For the next few weeks I’m a full blown softball man! haha πŸ˜€

I hope you have a great Friday and a great weekend! I’ll be back again Monday and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome, on this fine Friday. It is chilly here with a decent amount of sun.

May car is in the shop today getting a tune up/oil change/tire rotation. Things are going fairly well.

I’m feeling good about the day. I’m going to take it easy and let things that come at me roll off my back.

This weekend will hopefully be the same way. I just got a text from my brother asking if we could go work on the cabin Saturday, so if it is nice out maybe I can take the family out too. I do hope to start work on the garage this weekend at some point as well. I have saw horses now so I can take the wood outside and cut it. It would make the whole process more enjoyable.

So what are you all doing on your weekend? I hope whatever it is, you have some fun with it! Even if it is a slow weekend in the house.

That’s it for me. I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Feel Good News!

Hey Everyone!

It is about 7:38am and I’m tired! We slept in the living room last night for ease-ability. With Everett not feeling well, for some reason, he sleeps better down there. I was stuck on the love seat, which isn’t exactly large enough to allow me any room at all. But, here I am and that isn’t going to stop me from getting stuff done today! πŸ˜€

I found a couple positive news stories that you probably didn’t hear about. This most likely because our mainstream media, of any kind, tend not to cover feel good stories all too often.

If you live in South Carolina you may have hear of this one. A 9 year old boy named Malachi Coffey is credited with saving a mans life. Allen Clemmons was working on his car when the car slid off the jacks and on top of him. He was pinned under the car for an hour. He was having trouble breathing and about to give up all hope. He gave out one more yell, before he called it quits, since he was in his backyard and not in a driveway or anything. After his last yell Clemmons saw Malachi running towards him. Clemmons did the best he could to instruct Malachi on how to get the jack back under the car and back off of the ground. He was able to get the car lifted high enough that Clemmons could escape. From here he was flown to a nearby hospital, where they found he had 6 broken ribs and a fractured pelvis. Clemmons told the media: “I don’t think I would have survived another 30 minutes, it was getting really hard to breathe. He is truly my guardian angel.” Here is a picture of Malachi and his mother:

Now wouldn’t you want to hear more things like that in the news? I would love to wake up and see this instead of who got shot where, and whether or not we are going to war with N. Korea haha.

This next one just really makes you think about how much goes on around us that we don’t really notice. A married couple, living in China recently discovered that they were once in the same photo decades before! While sitting down and going through his wife’s photo album to decided who their children resembled more, he instantly recognized himself in one of the photos! Apparently they were both by the seaside of Qingdao at the same moment. He was there because his mother had appendicitis and wasn’t able to go, so he took her place. She was only there because her mother just had an operation and wanted to visit the city to relax. He is quoted saying: “When I saw the photo, I was taken by surprised and I got goosebumps all over my body… that was my pose for taking photos. I also took a photo, it was the same posture, just from a different angle.”

Here you can see her picture with him in the background, as well as his picture from a different angle. Incredible! Neither one of them knew at the time that they just walked past their future partner. Again, it makes you wonder what you have missed, without even knowing it.

I hope those two feel good stories have brightened your morning! I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

It is 7:54 am and I remembered! I came into this day knowing I had a lot going on. I have get a few things to my boss and continue the deployment of a couple PCs. I also have to contact the modular home company that we may be using, to get a quote for a house with and without a basement. In that same area I have to get a hold of our friend who would be willing to do our basement for us. Once we have all this information and are good on our end we will pass it on to her grandfather. From there he will see if he is able to do it for us 100% and with any luck it will start rolling! Then everything will be a big ol’ mess haha. Here is the plan we are looking at:

It isn’t big, but it is bigger than what we have believe it or not. We would go without the garage for the time being and add a double later on.

Other than that, Happy Friday! We made it. Do you have anything going on this weekend? I know here in the east we are getting hit with another round of snowstorms, so we may stay in most of the weekend. Although, my wife has an engagement photo shoot scheduled for Saturday. The couple wanted snow pictures, so what better weekend haha.We have to travel a bit to get there, but we may go earlier and head to the book store to make a day of it.

I hope this work day slides right on through, so I can start my weekend! I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What A Nice Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was pretty fun. We went back to my wife’s grandparent’s house and had a nice time. Friday night we kind of celebrated our sister in-law’s birthday. So her little family came over and we had ice cream cake and board games. Their little boy Carter was there and was trying to give Everett hugs, but it was a bit aggressive. When Everett would try to crawl away he would try pushing on his back until he kind of fell flat. We didn’t quite care for that so we stopped it pretty quick. We don’t want Everett to not want to play with others because of something like that or not want him to like going back there.

The boys were fine other wise. Here is carter “helping” us put Everett to sleep.

1

The next day we woke up and had some breakfast. I got up at about 5am, because I had wine the night before. Don’t ask me why, but when I have even a little bit to drink I am wide awake early! So I was able to catch the sunrise, while everyone was asleep. πŸ˜€

Everett had his bottle, and then some Greek yogurt. If you follow me on Instagram you probably already saw his before and after photos haha. This one happens to be an after photo.

2

Later my mother in-law stopped by to bring him this toy to play with. He really enjoyed it, even though the batteries were dead. XD

3

Since he is on the move he found this chair, that normally has a teddy bear sitting in it. So I moved that and put him in its place. I think it fits just right!

5

We took the time to talk about the whole house situation and moving back, and it didn’t turn out super well. We ultimately would like to move back and be there, but it may not be in the cards. Her grandfather is not sure he could get a loan for a house, due to his age. This means that we wouldn’t, probably, be able to put one down since we already have a new mortgage. I don’t think the bank would give us more. He did offer to give us $25K for a house, or I’m assuming anything we would need to move back, which is tempting and nice. It just may not be enough, or at the right time for us to be able to make it happen. I may call the bank and see what they think, and have them explain bridge loans, and explain when payments would start in the instance of putting down a home, rather than buying one out right. This assuming we could get any money. Who knows, but it is looking like we may just stay where we are and pay our mortgage down and sell when we find the right place near us, or try moving back there again.

Saturday afternoon we came back home and just kind of unwound. We weren’t seeing eye to eye on the big discussion, about the housing dilemma, so we just took our space and chilled. Sunday we spoke about it when we were calmed down and ready to listen to each other, and everything went pretty smooth. Again we still don’t have a real final decision but we are getting there.

Everett was up pretty much all day Sunday, and ready to move. Don’t mind my awful hairline, rather focus on the happy baby on my shoulders haha.

4

We were gifted some shoes from our sister in-law so it was time for Everett to try some on. I don’t think he was too big of a fan but he seemed to be fine.

We spent the rest of Sunday cleaning the house, doing laundry, and getting groceries. It was pretty relaxed, just the way we wanted it. I was able to mail in our taxes today, and scan all the documents into my PC yesterday. I also organized my letters from Abel in a scrap book, that way I can keep the hard copies to look back on hopefully in 8 years when he graduates from the program. πŸ˜€

That is all for me today. I hope you had a great weekend, and I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful morning. I remembered to write this post so that instantly puts me in a decent mood haha. I have one cup of coffee under my belt, or in my stomach for you literal types, and I’m ready to go.

While having coffee it is imperative that you talk about the weather. Out weather went from -15 to + 50 in one day. It is insane. We had more than a foot of snow and over the course of two warm days it is all gone. Here is the kicker, tonight and over the weekend we are getting another foot of snow, DOH! Make up your mind mother nature. I’m hoping your weather trends are less harsh.

On a Friday whilst drinking coffee with your friend you are also obligated to talk about any plans you may have for the weekend. I’m fairly certain that some one on my mom’s side of the family is getting married and we said we would go. We don’t see them often, probably for good reason, but it is nice to get a dose of them here and there haha. I think most of you can relate to something similar.

Lastly, if you have a family of your own you have to catch the other person up on what has transpired since you last spoke. In this case, Everett is doing much better. He is getting over his yeast infection, croup, and ear infection nicely. He is as happy as could be, somehow, and growing like a (good) weed. In other somewhat family news a little while back, my brother and sister in law announced that they are having another baby. So I will have another niece or nephew in about 7 months. Yippie!

Then you have the always awkward park, when your are both done with your coffee and realized you ran out of things to talk about. You say “Welp…” get up and pay your bill. Say your good byes and head on your way, until next time. I’ll see ya then! Have a good weekend. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

Here again early Friday morning, for another coffee talk. I must quickly say that I almost forgot, since the new season of Stranger things is out on Netflix! Eeeekkk πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Lets talk Halloween! This is the weekend before the holiday, and we have very little plans, since we have all been a bit ill. We were invited to a family friendly party but we cannot go.

Our house is decked out with lights, cobwebs, witches brooms and the rest. We have our candy ready, about 400 pieces, and all we need now are tick or treaters. This is our first Halloween in the new house and we are excited to build up a relationship with the neighborhood a bit.

What are your Halloween traditions? Do you go get candy? Do you stay home or go out? Heck do you do anything?!? Some people may not like this holiday, if so let me know!

I’m a fan of this holiday and I like its dark nature haha.

Lets talk!

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

Since I’m getting out of here early today I figured I’d try a nice early morning “Coffee Talk” post. In my head it should be subject specific, but I’m not really finished on that thought. In my head I see it as something that could be a permanent installment, if I could ever finish the thought haha. Maybe it could be like a Friday morning motivations kind of thing? who knows.

Today Weill be a jumble and a mix to see what feels more right. I suppose I’ll fill you in on my coffee preference. I like my coffee black, in most cases. If it is terrible coffee in general a little creamer is nice. I tend to stay away from all the fancy creamer and sugars, since it is bad enough that I am addicted to coffee in the first place. How you you like your coffee/tea?

Fresh, new positive attitude
If you’ve recently had a difficult day, congratulations. Now you’re stronger because of it, more capable, more experienced.
Now you can transform what was a negative experience into positive energy. Now you can be more focused, motivated, determined.
Sure, you could choose to feel angry, resentful or sad about the difficulties you’ve been through. But your negativity won’t change what happened, and won’t do you any good now.
Instead, you can decide now to be thankful you made it through. You can look at life with a renewed sense of purpose.
Don’t prolong the difficulties by continuing to lament them. Choose to quickly get over them and get on with living your life in more enjoyable, fulfilling ways.
Reward yourself today with a fresh, new positive attitude. You’ve got great things to do.

I’ll see you all again on Monday for a weekend recap. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
