Rough Start!

Hey Everyone!

It’s Tuesday and do I have a bad morning story for you today!

I awoke like a normal morning, tired and groggy from the recent time change. I took my shower, and while brushing my teeth, I missed and jammed it pretty hard into where my gums meet my lip. I didn’t look but I can feel that it is all bruised and cut up. Overall it doesn’t feel very good! I noticed when I was putting on my clothes that my heel, like around my Achilles Tendon, was in pain. I’m not sure what I did or when, but still to this moment it hurts to walk or bend my foot in anyway. So random heel pain, no bueno! I hobbled along the rest of the morning and made breakfast, like normal, as well as fed the pets and helped get Everett ready. Since it is snowing and crappy here I had to go outside and start my car to get it warmed up for Everett and to get the snow off the windshield. I took one step down the stairs and slipped on ice. I flew backwards, catching my arms on both railings and sliding down the rest of the stairs. OUCH! I have a couple bruises on my arms, but other than that I’m OK. I did instantly think about just calling off from work and calling it a day, but I persisted. I have tried to stay inactive at work, as far as physical labor is concerned, for good reason. That is my sob story for the day haha. I reallllllly hope you are having a better day than me today! 😀

My wife and I gathered all of the things we needed for the pre-approval process. We had to gather our W-2’s for the last two years as well as our last two pay stubs. This accompanying a form with basic information will be processed, in a few days and we will know if the bank will lend us enough money to get started on a house. It is all pretty nerve wracking. I’m not handling it very well. I get overwhelmed with multiple variables that I can’t control. It has me in bad moods and finding myself with a shorter fuse than normal. I am trying to cope with it and not outwardly attack anyone that doesn’t deserve it haha. Once I know more I’ll be more at ease with the whole thing.

The other thing I am handling today is Everett’s referral for tubes. His pediatrician said that we may as well start the process, and that if we chose not to do it we can at any time. Well, we found out that the person we were refereed to does not accept our insurance. I have canceled his first appointment and now have to see if they will refer him to another ear nose throat doctor. That is if this lady ever calls me back.

I hope you are having a great Tuesday, and I hope to see you all back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Welcome Back

Hey Everyone!

Sooo a little embarrassing, but I forgot it was even Labor Day weekend until about one hour before I left work on Friday. I mean, don’t get me wrong I was a big fan of finding this out, but I should have known. Partly because I have a huge calendar on my desk lol.

Anyway, as you know I had my last softball tournament of the season on Saturday. We came in 3rd place this year in the annual one pitch tournament. We ended up playing five games that day, so we were hot and tired. Over all it was a fun day, of course there was some controversy over the rules. This tournament has always been known as the tournament that seems to be thrown together in a weekend. No one is organized and the bracket changes two or three times the day of the tournament. The umpires don’t know the rules, even though they are there every year. It is a really weird tournament. Trust me on that, it’s hard to explain. Again, it was fun though.

Sunday I was pretty spent. My wife and I took our dog down town for the first time. We walked around town and played Ingress for a couple hours. It was another nice day, so we weren’t going to waste it. Later that night my brother and his fiance came over and we all ordered Chinese and hung out.

That brings me to Labor Day. We didn’t have much of a plan that day, but we did know we had a cookout at 1pm. In the morning we slept in a it. Once we got up we did some house work and got caught up on all the stuff we didn’t do the rest of the weekend. My brother and dad went to his land. I was going to go but My body still hurt from softball, and I didn’t want to wake up dragging today for work. We had a nice time in my parents backyard all afternoon. After we ate we took the dogs to the creek. My dog cannot be trusted to stay in one area so she needs to e on a leash. I wanted to try something different to give her an opportunity to feel like she was running free even though she wasn’t. We tied a 50+ ft rope to her harness and let her run and swim all over the creek. She was able to play with my brother’s Great Dane and not even feel like she was restricted. By the way she is a Norwegian Elk-hound. (This picture is two years old but she looks the same)

On a different note I will soon be getting a hold of my wife to see if the bank sent the preapproval letter for a house. We are looking to see how much we can afford. Last night we made up a mock budget using existing Excel templates. We over estimated the cost of all the bills to really give us a safe idea of what we can afford for a mortgage. We hope to be in a house before the end of the year, fingers crossed.

That is all for my weekend, I hope you all had a great one! I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀

Server Update & Pre-approval

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

August has come and gone. We will soon be in the midst of the fall season. I can’t wait for hoodie weather. My server is what I would like to talk about for a moment. I had a break though in one of the two areas that have been holding me back. I was looking closely over the server properties configuration file, and noticed that there was inherently a spawn protection setting. I did a quick google search and found that it indeed would protect an area around spawn to the number that you set. It was, by default, at 16 but I changed it to 100. This means from the top to the bottom 100×100 blocks are now protected stemming from my set spawn point. I will happily check that off of my list of things to do. The last thing I have to work on is getting the domain routing correctly. I thought I also had that nailed down last night only to find that when I got to work this morning that I could not connect to it. 😦 I am not really sure why this is such a hard thing to do. I feel like people have done this a million times over again, but there is no clear documentation online about it. (At least not that I have seen) Anyway one step at a time and I will get it done. Soon. Soon. Soon. haha.

As far as the second half of my title, today is the real deal. Today my wife and I applied for a joint pre-approval for a house loan. I had applied myself two other times with just myself, to get a baseline. Well my wife is starting her career and was able to obtain a letter from the Human Resources department of her new employer. This letter states that she is a full time employee, her salary, and her start date. With this information we can proceed in the process of buying a home. We have lived with my parents for the last two years while she finished school and I got my feet under me. For this we are both grateful, but it is time to get out. We want/need a place of our own. We will be able to continue on to the next steps in life. We should be able to get approved for what we want and, with that amount we will be able to buy a house that we can live in for many years. Today is a good day, knowing we can get the ball rolling.

I hope you all have a great day and a great rest of the week. 😀 😀
