Hunting & Family Time!

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

As you know I went out hunting on Saturday, and since I didn’t see anything it was a pretty uneventful day haha. I mean I saw some birds and chipmunks but that was it. So I took a a couple pictures of my surroundings and a couple walks around the woods before I went home. This first picture was taken about 6:40-ish in the morning. I thought it was pretty neat that it was naturally this purple. Oh and it is from the stand I was in.

Here is about the spot an hour later.

I got out in the woods about 6:30am and crossed the creek to get to the stand I was going to sit at by the time I took that first picture. I sat their most of the morning until I did a big loop around the hill. My brother and dad were out as well so we met up around lunch time at the cabin and ate. After that I went home. I’ll most likely be going back out this coming Saturday as well. My brother’s deer is being processed so he should have the meat back soon.

Sunday was a lounging day for me, but turned into doing some needed tasks. I went to get groceries, alone because I am much faster haha. I still hate doing it, but I hate it more when I have to slowly stroll. This way I can get in and out in about 40 minutes, with everything instead of 2 hours. When I got home I had to take a picture of my boy with his animal book and drool on his chin. 😀

Later that day we decided that we would for the first time feed him his first piece of ‘real’ food. We cut him up a banana and let him go for it.

20171203_13482220171203_135300

Clearly you can tell he is new to this whole eating thing. He didn’t do much more than suck on it, but the taste was still there and I think he liked it. We will now continue to introduce certain foods to him and let him learn on his own how to pick them up and put them in his mouth. I was surprised that he didn’t instantly do that, because anything else he grabs he jams right up there. This will not be his main source of food, we will keep him on breast milk, hopefully, up to a year.

After we got him all cleaned up we took him and the dog for a much needed walk. It had been a month or more since we had gone on one and the weather was sunny and clear. It was a bit chilly so we wrapped up the babe pretty tight. This was also the first time he was front facing in the stroller.

Those eyes though.

That brings us to today, back at work. :/ I would much rather do something else with my time but this pays the bills and the people are nice. We didn’t end up taking family pictures because our nephew was running a fever and to be safe they didn’t come. I also am pleased to tell you that I got a hair cut and I don’t look like a moron, so that is a plus!

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Everything But The Kitchen Sink!

Hey Everyone!

It is Wednesday and for me that means payday! It sounds great until you know that I don’t have any money haha. I hope someday I won’t have to live pay check to pay check. I got my direct deposit, only to come into work and pay off my bills and have enough money for gas in the car that isn’t even mine. RIP. The only good things I can say are that I am saving for retirement and my sons college, so that is a plus.

Speaking of money being gone before you even have it, I have a plumber coming tomorrow sometime after work. I’m sure that they will run their own snake and prove for themselves that my pipe is busted. That will come with a fun bill, followed by a bigger more fun quote to fix it lol. If it is anything like the other quote it will be a couple thousand dollars, for them to jack hammer my foundation and replace the broken piece, then filling it all back in. They should, like the last plumber, also repair the dry wall they have to tear out.

Friday starts the last month of 2017, and that evening I am going out to camp. the next day I will be getting up early and heading further into the woods, to hunt. We have 4-5 spots set up on my dads land that are prime for hunting, which is good because we have three people usually hunting. I will start low on the hill at my deer stand. Depending on the weather I may go higher on the hill. It is looking like it may be cooler, but still won’t be any snow. That makes it tough to see the contrast of a deer and hard to follow it if you have to. that being said the goal is to take a good shot and not have to chase it down. My dad went out yesterday and didn’t see anything, so I hope there are still some in the area when I get there. I have to find something to sleep on in the cabin because it isn’t finished. I’ll have to find a couple cushions or a small futon mattress or something to drag in there with me.

The other day I finished the third season of Zoo on Netflix, only to be disappointed that it was a cliffhanger leading into the fourth, which isn’t out yet. grrr. I hate that, I mean I understand why it happens but I really thought they were gearing up to end it and then it just drug on and on, then stopped. RIP again. I tried watching the first episode of Godless last night and it was so boring I fell asleep on my couch watching it. I may give it another try when I’m not also fairly tired from the night prior haha.

My co-worker is off today so I am the only one here with any real networking experience, you would think I’d be busy, but I am not. Half of my company takes this and next week off to go hunt, that should give you an idea about where I live haha. Most highschools in the area give the first day of hunting off, because it is pointless to try that day because no one shows up. Anyway if no one is here no one can have a problem with their computer!

In other news my wife is looking for a work from home position. We would like to get away from spending $500 a month on a babysitter and she would like more time home with him, so that seems to be a win win. The hard part is finding one. I have found her a few but she didn’t want to do them I guess. She has also just signed up at care.com to be a babysitter herself! I mean our baby sitter is making bank for being a retired woman, making money under the table. Doing some simple math, at $500 a month for one kid, and having a solid 6 kids at all times (some days more/some less), then multiplying by the twelve months in a year, that is about $36,000 a year from home. I am not sure if she pays taxes on it, she might but I’m not sure. It isn’t the greatest income and it is demanding but it is viable for where we live. If we were to move out a ways like we would like to someday it may not work, that is why I would rather her get in with a company that will keep her even if she moves. We will see, only time will tell.

That is all from me today. I hope you all have a great humpday! I’ll see you again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Lazy Tuesday!

Hey Everyone!

Back on a very lazy Tuesday, that is more like a Thursday. Last night I was on baby duty while my wife had an online training. I wanted to work on the snow blower but could not bring our boy out so that was a no go. With any luck and effort I might get to it tonight. Might. After baby duty I was able to sneak away and play a few games of Rainbow 6 with my old college roommate.

Today has been slow at work. It gets like this near a holiday. No one wants to report anything or take the time to let us know something isn’t working properly. This is all well and good but it makes for a pretty boring day. On the other hand we are having lunch for a retired employee today. She was with the company for 17 years. She requested meatball subs and the whole deal, so I’ll have a full belly and want to sleep all afternoon haha.

We are one step close to Thanksgiving and my plans have remained the same. We will be at my families on Thanksgiving and my wife’s on Friday. I also realized that the first day of buck and doe season is Saturday the 2nd here so I’ll be heading into the woods on the first to stay in the unfinished cabin and have an early Saturday hunt. I don’t have enough time to take from work to go out more than a couple days so odds are against me getting anything, but if I do I want to get it processed where my boss does. His deer sticks and bologna is delicious!

Everett seems to have the majority of his illness behind him now. He is feeling much better and has gotten a bunch of mucus out the last few days. We hope we can keep him healthy over the holiday. We are going to be making sure that no one in our families have any sickness before we go over to their place. If they do we will be either very cautious or have to not go, which would suck.

I have no further communications for you at this time. I will see you all again tomorrow and thanks for stopping by! 😀 😀

Picture Post

Hey Everyone!

I am very sorry that I was unable to post yesterday. The guy doing our wall was late both days and had to be there a couple days. I had to take off work yesterday. I have a few photos to show and that will be all for today, enjoy my pain haha.

20161211_12563820161211_12591020161211_13003520161211_13323620161211_14412620161211_15044720161211_15204020161211_19075220161212_19130220161212_21062620161212_210637

As of now this is what it looks like. I have to add a few coats of joint compound and sand it. When that is done my wife will paint it and get lights. He will bring the counter top when we are ready and do the electrical. Hopefully he will be on time then….

On a much less sour note here are some shots of where I was hunting, it was cold but beautiful.

I hope you all enjoy your day, and I’ll see you again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Move In Day

Hey Everyone!

A lot has happened this past weekend. I haven’t been documenting any of it in picture format because it honestly slips my mind. As much as I use social media I still never find myself thinking “Man! I better take a picture of this for later.” So with that being said I don’t have photos haha.

Saturday we officially moved into our house. The beds, clothes, animals, PCs, TVs, and ourselves all came over. It was a big day and a busy day for sure. My wife and I started early in the morning, packing up what we could in our vehicles and bringing them to the house. Later that day, her mother and grandmother came from out of town to help organize some things and put stuff away. My brother and dad went hunting in the morning and then came to help as well. They brought over the bed, dressers, and a reclining chair.

Most of the next day was much of the same, except for her dad and his girlfriend came to see us. Of course they brought my baby brother in-law, as well. We visit with them for a few hours and then they had to head home. They loved the house and want to come back when they can. We organized everything we could that day.

Monday morning I woke up and went hunting. I was in my deer stand at 6:20 am waiting and waiting. Sadly I didn’t see anything legal to shoot. I did however enjoy the company of a few gray and red squirrels. They seemed to keep my mind focused and passed the time nicely. Even though the goal of the day wasn’t met, it is always nice to spend a day outdoors disconnected from everything. It was a little cold and a little breezy but that was to be expected. Oooo I do have a picture of my view from the stand. Here you go:

**TWO HOUR BREAK, WENT TO INSTALL HOME INTERNET**

I have lost all train of thought, and I’m a couple hours late now. That being said I now have my TiVo box and internet at the house lol. That is the most up to date thing I can tell you, so that is where I’ll end this.

Thanks for the read, I hope you all come back tomorrow! C-Ya 😀 😀

Friday Has Come Again!

Hey Everyone!

Last night was seemingly very successful. I was able to make two more trips to Lowes and get my stove hooked up. I was able to connect the water line to the back of my refrigerator, as well as sand and paint over the hole I patched in the wall. I will be going back over after work today just to check on everything. With the remaining money from returning the fencing I will start to buy the trim for the floors in the bed rooms. I think that white quarter round would work well. It would be easy with a nail gun, but I don’t have one 😦 I’ll have to think on that one.

We have continued to run in to issues with the thought of knocking a hole in the kitchen wall for a breakfast nook. The contractor is willing to help us as a friend of my wife’s mother. This sounds great, and will also keep the cost down. The problem is that he isn’t willing to give us any kind of contract for the work, and I’m afraid that if something went wrong that our insurance on the house wouldn’t cover it and it would fall on the contractor. This would be fine but without a contract or something with his name on it, I’m not sure anything could be done to hold him liable even if he is licensed and insured himself. What is to stop him from leaving or cutting all ties with us once it is done? What is to stop him from saying no he didn’t do it? From what I also thought is that he offed to give us a receipt, but that would only be for the parts that we bought since he isn’t charging us with labor costs. So that wouldn’t say anything other than we bought “supplies” from him.

I am hoping that we can have this blow over for now and take a step back. We don’t know this guy and we don’t know his work. It is all sketchy to me. My thought to fix this mess is that come April when we get a tax return, as well as a bonus from my work, we can hire a local contracting firm and have them come do it by the books. I know it will cost more money but it will give us all better peace of mind. At that point we will have had about 4 months of bills under our belt and will be able to better understand what we can afford. This will be what I pitch to my wife. She tells me she hates the kitchen as it is and really wants this so I would like to do anything I can to allow her to get it, other than sketchy means. It would open the whole thing up but really we would only gain some counter space and a place to sit.

Other than that whole mess, I will be hunting this weekend, wish me luck. My family hunts by the law and we use everything we can from an animal. We do not kill for sport, we eat what we kill. If it is too much we give it away to others. With that I hope to get a nice buck or a mature doe. the season here lasts one more week, so I’ll make it out a few days if I’m lucky. It will be the first full time spent hunting on my dad’s land. This year if we get anything I think we will try butchering it ourselves. It isn’t hard but it does require some skill and patience. I’ll let you know how I do. Next weekend I’m going to a hockey game which I am also excited for.

Thanks for tuning in! I’ll see you all back here on Tuesday, since I have Monday off for hunting. Bye All, and have a great weekend! 😀 😀

Friday Show

Friday is here and that means the weekend is upon us.

I have a few more things to finish up here, at work before I go. They are simple things that shouldn’t take too much time. I will be helping a co-worker rearrange their office, as well as performing “end of day” maintenance.

Later this evening my wife and I are heading back to her hometown. We are going to be shopping in Erie, Pa before we get their though. She has a few things she would like to pick up. Saturday we are going to meet up with her brother and his wife, to see our new nephew for the first time. I’ll be sure to get a picture or two. We will be coming back Saturday night. On Sunday the Steelers host the Cowboys, so our family will surely have a get together. If you have followed this blog for any amount of time you will know I am a die hard Cowboys fan, while the rest of my family likes the Steelers.

I found out yesterday that we will be closing on our new house on the 21st of this month. That is super exciting for us and we can’t wait to get everything moved. We still have to get the utilities in our name and things like that but the rest should be a breeze. It will be nice to finally have a place to call our own. We rented during college, lived on her grandfather’s land, and have stayed with my parents. This will be a huge first for us but we are ready for it. If I get any free time I’d like to get in a little squirrel hunting in. The season here closes on the 26th so I’ll be running out of time soon if I don’t get out now.

I have been watching a ton of Netflix recently. I watched every episode of Black Mirror. It is a great show about the darker side of technology and how any version of our world could be very different based on the technological advances were in the timeline. My wife and I started watching New Girl, which I have always been a fan of. I just never got through them all so I am rewatching them. I have been looking for another good series and I think I’ll start watching House of Cards. I watched the first episode and it was slow and boring so I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but from what I hear it is really good, so who knows.

That is about all I have for you today. I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll see you all on Monday! 😀 😀

Insert Title Here…

Hey Everyone!

Today has been pretty busy with my co-worker being in Florida. I have had a large number of small fires to put out around the shop and offices today. At this point in time things have come to a lull. Speaking of my co-worker though, he text me something interesting yesterday. He said he had a business proposition for me. At this point it could be anything, knowing him. He proceeded to tell me that the church that he and his family attends, which is also a catholic school, was large enough to warrant some IT support. He was going to possibly do it on the side, and would like to rope me in to do it with him. I think I like that idea. I worked in a high school tech building for a summer and really enjoyed it. I can only assume that they would want help with laptops and smart boards. They may even want some cable run throughout the building, who knows. But I can always use any extra money that I can get. It would be fun bottom line. He said he would tell me more about it when he comes back, which will be tomorrow. I’ll keep you updated.

With hunting season ever approaching, I can’t help but find myself watching videos about butchering your own venison. This is of course assuming that I get a deer this year. We normally take it to a local butcher, but he is old and has had a few major health problems since last year. On another downer note the guy my dad wanted to go to shot himself two days ago. So it is safe to say he won’t be doing it either. Enough about that bad stuff! I found a great You Tuber by the name of Scott Rea his channel can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs_t4Om5siqqFtVGd639Z0Q . I don’t know about you but he isn’t the kind of person I would look at and think “He is a butcher.” He is however and hes damn good. If you want to butcher anything he would be the man to watch. Again I like his videos on deer since that is mostly what I hunt. I would love to do the work myself this year if I get the chance to. It seems like you can get more out of the animal if you do it your self. Less would go to waste which I love.

Last night I downloaded an app called ‘Animation Throwdown’ It is essentially a watered down Magic the gathering, and a closer rival to Hearth Stone . Except the cards are all Adult Swim-ish character related. They use shows like the Simpsons, family Guy, Futurama, Kill of the Hill, and American Dad. It is interesting to say the least. They have a few cool features, like being able to research combos for cards and playing different game modes. If you are into that style of play its worth a look. It will pass the time that’s for sure. I quickly added two game play videos of it on my YouTube channel that can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCng86RsvYqkXHOr4o53ClQg . And it was just recorded with my phone’s built in recording software so it isn’t the best but it does get the job done haha.

I guess I’ll quit rambling. Tonight we have our home inspection so fingers crossed. Tomorrow I have a district wide masonic practice at our home lodge, so that will be fun. I’ll see you all back here tomorrow! 😀 😀
