Tuesday!

Hey Everyone!

We are back after a long holiday weekend. I can’t say that I’m happy to come back to work but it is time to get going with everything.

Saturday we installed a couple of air conditioners for the second floor and attic. Later that evening my wife had a photo shoot. A girl that I went to college with and worked with for a while came down from about an hour and a half away to get her pictures taken. It was a couple field settings, in the late evening. They turned out great, from what I can tell! πŸ˜€ I was watching Everett while the whole thing was going on.

3

He was having a pretty good time in the weeds. The girl who came down had her son with her for the shoot, and the two of them got to interact a little bit which was nice.

Sunday we did indeed go to the cabin. My dad, brother, cousin, and brother’s friend came out for helping purposes. My wife, mother, and son came for the outdoors. Everett was only there with my wife for a little bit because it was calling for thunderstorms. It did rain for a bit but that was about it, so I was sad to see them go over that. Everett fell in the dirt a few times and didn’t really like that. Here he is with me in the cabin. πŸ˜€

1

My dad is seen here cutting another sheet of plywood for the ceiling. They were able to put up another four sheets.

2

My cousin and I took the four wheeler and went up and down the hill clearing the debris along the way.

4

We were able to get five or so trees cut and out of the way as well as maintain some other trails. We came back and hung out for about two hours around the campfire, it was a really nice day.

Monday was a bit rough for me personally because nothing was going my way. We went and got a gate for the attic to allow Everett to have a play room on the other side, and it is the worst gate I have ever seen. It didn’t help that the studs were impossible to find in the wall. I also bought expanding foam to fill the cracks in the other room to keep the bugs out. That is all well and good except the one main gap was way too big and now I need to cut all the foam to look good. It is hot up there and it was a huge pain in the ass. Some of it made its way onto the floor, which was about impossible to get off.Β  After that crap that took way too long, I gave up on the day. I played video games, ate bad food, and made no further progress haha. πŸ˜€ After that the rest of the night went OK after that.

That brings us to the lazy Tuesday. I don’t have much going on today and hope it stays that way. I really don’t feel like doing much. I did get a hold of a retired electrician to come look at my lights, I just have to find a date and time that works for us. If I can get the light in and the house looking back to normal I’ll be OK again.

That is it for me! I hope you have a great Labor Day weekend! I’ll see you again tomorrow!

Rough Start!

Hey Everyone!

It’s Tuesday and do I have a bad morning story for you today!

I awoke like a normal morning, tired and groggy from the recent time change. I took my shower, and while brushing my teeth, I missed and jammed it pretty hard into where my gums meet my lip. I didn’t look but I can feel that it is all bruised and cut up. Overall it doesn’t feel very good! I noticed when I was putting on my clothes that my heel, like around my Achilles Tendon, was in pain. I’m not sure what I did or when, but still to this moment it hurts to walk or bend my foot in anyway. So random heel pain, no bueno! I hobbled along the rest of the morning and made breakfast, like normal, as well as fed the pets and helped get Everett ready. Since it is snowing and crappy here I had to go outside and start my car to get it warmed up for Everett and to get the snow off the windshield. I took one step down the stairs and slipped on ice. I flew backwards, catching my arms on both railings and sliding down the rest of the stairs. OUCH! I have a couple bruises on my arms, but other than that I’m OK. I did instantly think about just calling off from work and calling it a day, but I persisted. I have tried to stay inactive at work, as far as physical labor is concerned, for good reason. That is my sob story for the day haha. I reallllllly hope you are having a better day than me today! πŸ˜€

My wife and I gathered all of the things we needed for the pre-approval process. We had to gather our W-2’s for the last two years as well as our last two pay stubs. This accompanying a form with basic information will be processed, in a few days and we will know if the bank will lend us enough money to get started on a house. It is all pretty nerve wracking. I’m not handling it very well. I get overwhelmed with multiple variables that I can’t control. It has me in bad moods and finding myself with a shorter fuse than normal. I am trying to cope with it and not outwardly attack anyone that doesn’t deserve it haha. Once I know more I’ll be more at ease with the whole thing.

The other thing I am handling today is Everett’s referral for tubes. His pediatrician said that we may as well start the process, and that if we chose not to do it we can at any time. Well, we found out that the person we were refereed to does not accept our insurance. I have canceled his first appointment and now have to see if they will refer him to another ear nose throat doctor. That is if this lady ever calls me back.

I hope you are having a great Tuesday, and I hope to see you all back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Moving Forward!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend we went back, yet again to my wife’s grandparent’s house. She had a photo shoot late in the day, so we came up and made a day of it. I made a cost breakdown sheet of the floor plans we were looking at and contacted the sales rep to verify pricing, and time frames. This information was presented to her grandfather, so that we could all be on the same page as to what we were looking for and how much we were willing to potentially spend, or buy.

We are a little uneasy with what comes next. He wants to see if we would be able to get approved for the amount needed on our own, which is what we wanted to avoid if at all possible. Only because we don’t want some unforeseen, bad thing to happen and leave us with two mortgage payments.Β  We would not be able to pay both. The idea is that he is going to deed us the land, gift us $25,000, and he will pay the mortgage if there is any over lap between selling our house and that one being complete. This is all great in theory, I just hope it plays out that way. I’m not a fan of uncertainty, at least not on this scale. We have worked hard to have what we do, and if we were to get stuck with two payments for whatever reason that would ruin us for a while.

On the other hand, if we are unable to get the loan even with all the help he would then resort to putting it down himself and letting us buy it from him. We still would rather this method, but if he wants us to try the other way first we really can’t argue. So it seems like things are moving in the direction that we want them to. I’m not sure of any time frames, but we were told not to wait if we wanted it all to be complete by next winter.

So it begins.

Like I said before, my wife met with her client around sundown for better lighting, and she took some nice engagement photos. We came home right after that and relaxed the rest of the evening.

Sunday was a day of house chores, mainly laundry. I sat down, while folding laundry and watched the Netflix series “Everything Sucks” It was really good! I went in to it not knowing what to expect. I thought that I would turn it off after one episode, instead I watched the whole season haha. There are no super famous actors, which I love, and it tackles some tough issues, that highschoolers are facing today. If you have a chance I would recommend watching it.

Today is the first day back at work since the time change….and it sucks. I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon, but blah for now.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

It is 7:54 am and I remembered! I came into this day knowing I had a lot going on. I have get a few things to my boss and continue the deployment of a couple PCs. I also have to contact the modular home company that we may be using, to get a quote for a house with and without a basement. In that same area I have to get a hold of our friend who would be willing to do our basement for us. Once we have all this information and are good on our end we will pass it on to her grandfather. From there he will see if he is able to do it for us 100% and with any luck it will start rolling! Then everything will be a big ol’ mess haha. Here is the plan we are looking at:

20180309_075917.jpg

It isn’t big, but it is bigger than what we have believe it or not. We would go without the garage for the time being and add a double later on.

Other than that, Happy Friday! We made it. Do you have anything going on this weekend? I know here in the east we are getting hit with another round of snowstorms, so we may stay in most of the weekend. Although, my wife has an engagement photo shoot scheduled for Saturday. The couple wanted snow pictures, so what better weekend haha.We have to travel a bit to get there, but we may go earlier and head to the book store to make a day of it.

I hope this work day slides right on through, so I can start my weekend! I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Exciting News & Eagles!

Hey Everyone!

I had a late night, for myself. I had my typical Masonic meeting, that went fast, and for good reason. We sped through what we needed to get done, so that we could enjoy the evening’s program. My cousin, Mike, got a state game warden to come give a presentation on the Bald Eagle, the the rehabilitation in our area.Β  It was really informative and fun to listen to. Here is a link to the live feed of a nest cam in PA. As I am watching there is an Eagle in there right now, it is really neat. GO HERE!

After the presentation, we had brownies and ice cream for desert. I was sitting with my cousin and the game warden and we had some good conversation. By the time I got home it was past 10pm, so Everett was asleep, and my wife was about the same haha. She had mentioned that she had to talk to me about something , but it had gotten too late.

This morning she asked if I was ready to talk a bit about it. I said I was, and she said that her grandfather called her and said that he was finding a way to build a house for us! I still want to confirm everything before I get too excited and nervous, but that is a very different story than when we talked to him last weekend. He wants us to get a firm estimate on the house we would want and the layout. She asked if he was aware that we would only be able to buy it from him when our house sold, and he seemed to be ok with that. So fingers crossed this may work out well. We will have to get a price and layout to him as soon as we can to get things rolling. The moment we actually break ground I will let my boss know that we will be moving, around a certain date, estimated completion kind of thing. From there I will scout for a job and hopefully they will allow me to start when the house is complete. IfΒ  they won’t and I still want that job I’ll let him know and have to put in my 2 weeks notice. It may be sooner and it may be later but that will play out. That is the scary part for me is leaving my job that I like, and the people somewhat high and dry. I’m not sure they would replace me until I left which would be terrible timing because our other co-worker is retiring.

I’ll keep you posted when I can. Work has been busy again today. I set up two full computers for people and deployed one of them. The other will go out tomorrow. Our conference room upgrade is still going smoothly as well. I was told to get a list of projects I was involved with this last year, for my annual review. I normally pass with flying colors and hope to again. If I do stay for some reason, this will help determine what I get in a profit sharing check and whether or not I get any raises. I really should track these as I do them haha. I’m sure it will be fine.

That is all for me today, I’ll try to see you bright and early for a “Coffee Talk!” See ya! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What A Nice Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was pretty fun. We went back to my wife’s grandparent’s house and had a nice time. Friday night we kind of celebrated our sister in-law’s birthday. So her little family came over and we had ice cream cake and board games. Their little boy Carter was there and was trying to give Everett hugs, but it was a bit aggressive. When Everett would try to crawl away he would try pushing on his back until he kind of fell flat. We didn’t quite care for that so we stopped it pretty quick. We don’t want Everett to not want to play with others because of something like that or not want him to like going back there.

The boys were fine other wise. Here is carter “helping” us put Everett to sleep.

1

The next day we woke up and had some breakfast. I got up at about 5am, because I had wine the night before. Don’t ask me why, but when I have even a little bit to drink I am wide awake early! So I was able to catch the sunrise, while everyone was asleep. πŸ˜€

IMG_20180303_060615.jpg

Everett had his bottle, and then some Greek yogurt. If you follow me on Instagram you probably already saw his before and after photos haha. This one happens to be an after photo.

2

Later my mother in-law stopped by to bring him this toy to play with. He really enjoyed it, even though the batteries were dead. XD

3

Since he is on the move he found this chair, that normally has a teddy bear sitting in it. So I moved that and put him in its place. I think it fits just right!

5

We took the time to talk about the whole house situation and moving back, and it didn’t turn out super well. We ultimately would like to move back and be there, but it may not be in the cards. Her grandfather is not sure he could get a loan for a house, due to his age. This means that we wouldn’t, probably, be able to put one down since we already have a new mortgage. I don’t think the bank would give us more. He did offer to give us $25K for a house, or I’m assuming anything we would need to move back, which is tempting and nice. It just may not be enough, or at the right time for us to be able to make it happen. I may call the bank and see what they think, and have them explain bridge loans, and explain when payments would start in the instance of putting down a home, rather than buying one out right. This assuming we could get any money. Who knows, but it is looking like we may just stay where we are and pay our mortgage down and sell when we find the right place near us, or try moving back there again.

Saturday afternoon we came back home and just kind of unwound. We weren’t seeing eye to eye on the big discussion, about the housing dilemma, so we just took our space and chilled. Sunday we spoke about it when we were calmed down and ready to listen to each other, and everything went pretty smooth. Again we still don’t have a real final decision but we are getting there.

Everett was up pretty much all day Sunday, and ready to move. Don’t mind my awful hairline, rather focus on the happy baby on my shoulders haha.

4

We were gifted some shoes from our sister in-law so it was time for Everett to try some on. I don’t think he was too big of a fan but he seemed to be fine.

We spent the rest of Sunday cleaning the house, doing laundry, and getting groceries. It was pretty relaxed, just the way we wanted it. I was able to mail in our taxes today, and scan all the documents into my PC yesterday. I also organized my letters from Abel in a scrap book, that way I can keep the hard copies to look back on hopefully in 8 years when he graduates from the program. πŸ˜€

That is all for me today. I hope you had a great weekend, and I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Letter From Abel!

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday was pretty awesome! After work I picked Everett up from his baby sitter and then picked up my wife at home. We went straight over to another daycare facility, to meet with the owners. We thought they were still running out of their home as well, which is ok, but they recently purchased a building for a legitimate daycare. We met the owner and her husband who run the show together. They have separate rooms for each age group, trained and clearances staff, a clean environment, plenty of state regulated safety measures. As well as a fenced in play area, and a walking path. To top it all off it ends up being cheaper per month then where we have him going now. the only down side is that we can’t switch him until he is 1 year old. This means he will have to wait until May 22nd before he can go there, they don’t have any openings for infants until 2019! The good news is that we have all the paper work filled out and they are willing to hold his spot for May for $50. That is a steal, so we are going to do that tonight as we head out of town for the weekend.

By the time we were done there we were starving and not feeling like cooking dinner. We stopped across the street and got food from DQ. πŸ™‚ After we got home I checked the mail like I do everyday. To my surprise I got a piece of mail from Children International. I was hoping that it was some response from my sponsor child, and it was! I received my first letter written by Abel, the others were from his mom and a CI worker, on his behalf. I also got four pictures of him holding the items that I bought for his family.

1.jpg

Abel turned 10 years old on January 9th of this year and I wanted to get him something for that. In my letter I let him know that the soccer ball and Fanta were his gifts for Christmas and his birthday! The other stuff is for cooking in his home. It is mealie meal, sugar, cooking oil, and rice. He is looking good and seems happy, that’s all I can ask for. I hope he gets a ton of use out of that soccer ball. He likes sports, jacks, and playing with his friends so it should be perfect.

Today on the other hand hasn’t gone so well. :/ I came in early to cover my boss, who is off for the weekend. We have a system in place that grabs a ton of information and compiles complex workflow procedures, and it got unplugged yesterday. It was never properly brought back up, so it never ran what it needed to last night. So since I got here early I tried to re-run it, noticing that it didn’t run. Little did I know that the instructions that I had for that sort of even were incomplete. So, everything I tried still didn’t work and we had a mess this morning. It is just annoying for me to feel like something like that is my fault, even though it really isn’t. I still feel responsible and I don’t like that sort of thing. So I have tried moving past it, but have run into a snag on my other project as well. This isn’t turning out to be a great Friday so far. Good news is that it is Friday and soon I will be able to get the heck out of here for a while! haha.

Like I stated before, even thought the weather has turned on us,we are going back this weekend to talk about the house and tax stuff, and spend some time with my wife’s family. We hope to get a lot accomplished and have a relaxing weekend at the same time. I could really go for a glass of her grandfathers homemade wine right about now! πŸ˜€

That is all for me today, I hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll see you again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Bit Of Everything!

Hey Everyone!

I am still unbelievably busy here at work, but I left you with nothing yesterday so I will do my best to get this one out for ya. I’m currently sitting here with two laptops on my desk with wireless mice. That means I have a total of three on my desk, I keep grabbing the wrong one haha.

Last night I had a Masonic practice. We were running over how to conduct a Masonic funeral ceremony. They are performing on on Saturday. The diseased or his family can request one, before their funeral. It is a nice, short program that honors the brother for the final time before he is laid to rest. The main thing is you want to have your lines and movements down, so you don’t mess up in front of their grieving family and friends. The practice is a very dressed down event held at the lodge. We have a pot of coffee going and just run through anything people want to work on for about an hour then head home. there is no real time frame on it other than it starts at 7pm. Some times you show up and no one comes other times you show up and its like a mad house. It really just depends on what you are covering that night.

Everett has had to get a new prescription. They gave him Augmentin for his ear infection, and he just throws it up. Most likely because it is disgusting haha. I remember having to take that and hating it. I don’t think he is allergic, but there is no talking a baby into swallowing haha, we tried!

We are also going to meet up with a different baby sitter either tonight or next week. She may be able to take Everett in when he turns one in a couple months. I believe the mother daughter duo, still operate under the table, but they keep their house up to the current codes set by the state. That makes my wife and I very happy. We have noticed that since we have told and shown our sitter that Everett is on the move that she isn’t using her baby gate?!? Why, we have no idea. I get there and it is down, I pick him up and it is down. If he falls down those stairs, because they didn’t have it up I will make sure every legal action is taken on her. Especially because we have told her and she still ignores it. If that doesn’t work who knows, we will for sure not take him there, as we are already trying to find another. I wouldn’t let it go though that is for sure.

We are going back, for real this time, to my wife’s grandparents house this weekend to talk about putting a house down. If we get the go ahead yes, then it looks like our lives will be changing 100%. Being proactive I have been looking for job openings in that area. I have applied at a local college and a local hospital. Now timing is going to be huge, but it will only matter if we can have a house put down. If he isn’t willing or able then it is just straight up over. But we will know more after this weekend. I don’t want to leave my nice job here unless it is a real deal, or unless they want to double my salary at another place haha. I’ll keep you posted.

That is about it for me today! Back to the old grind stone to finish out the day strong. I’ll see you tomorrow, but it may not be early. My boss is off and I also have another work commitment in the morning, so it may be a regular post. Anyway, see ya then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Weekend, Anti-Phil, & Super Bowl!

Hey Everyone!

I can’t wait for Friday to come and go haha. My wife has the next week off so I won’t be taking Everett to daycare! The little things make all the difference in a work week.

This weekend we are going to head back, yet again, to my wife’s families place and spend the day. We have some tax information stuff to give her grandfather and I hope, fingers crossed, that we can talk more about getting a house out there.

Sunday we will not be watching the Super Bowl, because the two worst teams, in my opinion, are in the game. To me there couldn’t be a worse game to sit down and watch. Being a Cowboys fan my entire life, it pains me to see the Eagles at the big game. Growing up with a family full of Steelers fans I have been accustomed to also not liking the Patriots. My parents hold a get together each year to watch the game and this year I just really don’t want to watch the game. We are going to stop over for dinner and leave before the game starts. This way my mom won’t be mad that I didn’t come over and spend time with the family. I understand where she is coming from, but I’m not going to sit there for 4 hours and put myself through watching that game. If, and only if I was forced to make a derision about who I would rather win, it would be the Patriots.

Today at work we had a groundhog day luncheon. Our company has a long standing tradition of splitting in two, on and around this day. There the supporters of Phil and then we have the Anti -Phil supporters, (Kill Phil). They have separate luncheons on different ends of the shop each year and even had shirts made a few of the years haha.

Tomorrow, at work, we are allowed to wear gear from our favorite NFL team. I, of course, will be wearing my nice Jason Witten jersey that my wife got me a while back. I know of a few other Cowboys fans at this company so I don’t get ragged on too bad haha. I mean lets be real here, we have a few Browns fans still floating around haha.

That is all for me today, I’ll see you all again tomorrow morning! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Busy Day Today!

Hey Everyone!

I have been super busy with work today, which is welcomed any time. Just a quick run down of things I’ve done will follow. I have corrected a couple networking errors, set up a Sales Department Kiosk PC, had a meeting with Purchasing about the transfer of one of their employees and the addition of a new one, set up a laptop for said transferring employee to use while training, helped set up a new printer in our other building, fielded a few tech help questions, and solidified the use of the new Debit/Credit form I created. Now if that is too large of a sentence, good! That was a ton of stuff all in the matter of a couple hours. It doesn’t end here either. When I get done writing this I’ll be off to finishΒ  setting up that printer for a few people, as well as creating another PC for the new employee coming Monday.

Last night my wife and I had a little discussion about the home situation. Her mother gave us some insight that, having one built or placed on the property by her grandparents is not out of the question. To me that is a good sign. We just have to voice the question out right and see where we land. He may straight up say no. He may straight up say yes. He maaayyy say yes with a stipulation that we build rather than place one down. He mayΒ  want to pick his own contractor, or have say in what is built (which we don’t want). there are still a bunch of unknowns but for now I like the fact that they just haven’t said no yet haha.

Everett has his 8 month checkup today right after work, so I’ll pick him up from day care and grab his mama, and be on our way. I am excited to see how a routine checkup goes there. Again we are at the new pediatrician, that we love so far. We have a few questions about his diaper rashes and what not but other than that it should be pretty straight forward.

I have finished season four of Game of Thrones, and still love it dearly. I will not spoil anything, just in case there are people new to the series, like I was. It is just amazing how they can keep the intensity up while having a great story line.

That is all for me today, I hope you have a great Tuesday! I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
