Around The Water Cooler!

Hey Everyone!

Since I haven’t been taking in any cafinated drinks it didn’t seem fair to post a ‘Coffee Talk’ morning segment. That being said i do now go fill up my water bottle and get to typing! So welcome to the first ever ‘Around The Water Cooler!’ piece. Where I will detail some morning thoughts and cover the happenings of the prior day.

This morning I’m feeling overwhelmed, but at the same time I’m ok with it. I have to call the bank about some real estate taxes and what not, as well as talk to them about mortgage insurance. While I’m not looking forward to that I don’t think it will be a big deal. I also have to learn some more coverage of the operations end of things at work before, well, next week haha. I have to call the pediatrician about Everett’s iron supplement, and look in to how to fix the GC machine at the gas plant that I’m doing on the side. So, sort of a busy Friday. I’d also like to get the grass cut in the yard if at all possible.

On to what we dealt with last night! I wanted to move all of the weeds we pulled from our yard and dump them over the bank behind my parent’s house, then I needed to drop off my car to get fixed up, followed by running to the store for some stuff.

I got home and took our a frozen pizza for dinner since I knew we were going to be a bit busy. The pizza finished and I went to move it form the oven to the counter. The moment I was in that transition Everett decided it was a good idea to run over to the stove door that was down and slam his hands on it! You know where it goes from here. It was a 400 degree oven that he slammed his hands on. Unlike some babies he did take his hands off very quickly and started balling, as most people would probably do. I quickly, but calmly, grabbed him and ran his hands under some cool water. My wife finished up her work day and came down to help me out. We called the doctor and they told us a couple things, we basically already knew. We applied Aloe to his hands from one of our many Aloe plants. It helped him immediately.  While that was going on I gathered those weeds and got rid of them so we could head out the door and get the other stuff done. Once I dropped off the car and made it to the store we picked up a gauze kit to wrap his more burnt hand over night. We have pictures, nothing gross though, so no advisory needed.

12

He has a couple fairly large (for his size) blisters on the palm of his hand, so we put more Aloe on before bed and wrapped him up.

This morning he was back at it getting into everything.

3

Then, since this is how it always happens,  I get this picture sent to me this morning.

4

Everett just got a fresh wrap job and dunked his hand in my wife’s coffee first thing this morning! DOH!

That was my night and while it had some low points we got everything sorted as needed, and we all made it though!

I hope you have a great Friday and weekend! I’ll see you again Monday! 😀 😀

Another Busy Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We made it through the weekend. Friday We took some time out to weed the major part of our backyard garden. I’m not entirely sure what the purpose is since by the time any of it gets done it might be winter haha.

During that process Everett picked up his mommy’s phone.

123

He is such a dang cutie! He has been picking up on things so quickly. He is learning a ton. He has been organizing things, in his own way. He will take and place items in and on other items. We also have a verified 5 teeth! We haven’t been able to have him show us long enough for a picture, but I promise they are there haha.

Saturday was a huge softball day. In total our co-ed team played six games and took second place. I was their pitcher for each game. As a team we sustained two injuries to a couple of our girls. We had to pick up two different girls along the way, because you need four to play.  My groin injury I sustained during the regular season flared up part way through, so that didn’t feel good. Today my back and everything is not doing well, so I’m taking it easy here at work.

Sunday we headed out to visit my wife’s father again. He was placed in a nursing home during the week. He needs to be placed somewhere that can handle his dementia, and not just another nursing home. But either way he is at least in a safe space. Afterwards we went to a local bar in our college town and had lunch with her mom, before heading home.

On another note season 6 of Orange is the New Black is out on Netflix. I am halfway through and it is decent. It is, so far, at a bit of a slower pace but you can tell the build up is for something good. If you watch it, it is time to get at it!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and I hope to see you back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Amazing (Busy) Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

Back from another great and productive weekend! 😀 😀

Friday wasn’t fun by any means but I did get to cross something off the to do list. After work Friday I picked Everett up from his last day at daycare, went home and started working on our tub. I had to chip, pull, and chisel the old caulking out. That was the worst thing I have done in a long while, even worse than painting our fence. After that it was time to clean and re-caulk it. I tried for the first time the hand squeezed tubes of sealant, thinking it would be easier in that tight space, but I really didn’t like it. I went through 4 of the little things and at the end of the day would have liked more, but that amount at least filled the space back up. So on that note everything is looking good.

Saturday was our super busy day. We woke up, had breakfast and headed to my wife’s mom’s house. We got to her place and cooked out on the grill, fr lunch. Everett was having a great time under the patio umbrella.

My wife was invited as a guest to the wedding of her dad’s, wife’s, mother’s wedding. She was also there to take pictures of the event. At the same time I was heading out to my best friends 30th birthday party that his wife threw him. They happened to be the same time and in different directions, so I missed the wedding. I was able to catch up with him and his family for a couple of hours before heading back to the reception on the lake. There they had a beautifully decorated ball room on the ground level over looking part of the lake.

2

The dinner consisted of everything on my plate haha. Keep it short and sweet! 😀

3

Once it was time to leave the reception we stopped to visit my wife’s dad. He isn’t in the greatest health anymore and it has come on all of the sudden. His brother and sister in-law were there too. We hung out for a bit and then stopped back at her mom’s to get Everett. By the time we made it home again it was 10:30pm and we were beat!

As days go, Sunday was next on the list. We had 2 softball games in the middle of the day. In short we won both games pretty convincingly. I pitched the second game until it was a blow out and then we all swapped positions. I hit a big home run in the second game, but other than that a quit hitting day for me with only a .500 average.

4

When I got home I just stayed in my ball pants and mowed the grass, and trimmed the edges. Everett was outside with him mom enjoying the sun and the pool we inflated. When I got finished I just stripped down and laid in the pool. Then the randomness started. We wanted to head back to the local Ollie’s Bargain store to look around. We wanted to get something for the yard. We we did and headed home. More on that in a bit. My mother and wife decided to take the initiative and weed what they could of our massive garden. It is over run with that Morning Glory crap and it is everywhere.

9

So it all looks like that up top

They got this back half looking pretty good, but had to stop due to time and lack of room in the truck bed lol. If they could do this for another 3 solid days they could weed all of the flower beds in the front and back yard, if they hustled. 😀 In the mean time I was draining the pool to move it for our big purchase! I was in the background setting it all up.

7

We bought this nice offset umbrella for the yard as well as the bug net, four chairs, and glass table all for $200! 😀 I’m grinning at that price all day. 😀

Lastly a nice look from within. If you look close you can see Everett ‘helping’ in the last four pictures haha. He stood out there with them the whole time, just holding on to the wheel barrow.

8

Once I was done unloading the scraps at my parent’s house, we called it a night and here we are. It was a great weekend I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if given the chance. I hope you all had an amazing weekend as well. I’ll be back again tomorrow for another daily post, and hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Motivated & Busy Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

I made it to work today! I really wasn’t sure if I would. I was debating about sending my boss that e-mail at 9pm saying that I wouldn’t be there. I decided to take some NyQuil and sleep on it. I woke up again still feeling crappy but I didn’t have a sore throat or anything so it didn’t get worse. I figured I’d give it another shot. So, here I am.

I actually got really motivated after I got home last night. I didn’t take any pictures because I was still really out of it, but I weeded my flower beds. Well, some of them. I have a bunch, so I was only able to do the front yard ones that people will see. I noticed that I had some flowers already poking up and figured if I don’t clean these up now it will be harder to do later. I grabbed my rake, gloves and hedge trimmers and took two car loads of yard scrap to my parents house. I dumped it all over the bank by the creek. It was a bit windy and only about 45 degrees but it was sunny and it felt good to be outside for a bit. It probably didn’t help my sinus issue any haha, but It boosted my moral. 😀 It will be nice to see the flowers and things again, after a long winter.

My head is still pounding and my nose is still running like a leaky faucet. I hope I am able to get over whatever this is before the weekend. I have plenty of things going on that I don’t want to miss. If Everett is feeling better, which he should be, he will have his first swim class. We have a baby shower Saturday as well. After that we are going to celebrate Easter with my wife’s family. On Easter we are going out to my one aunt’s house for a large family lunch. We have been doing it for years, and it gets us out and about.

That is about all for me today, I hope you all have a great day. I’ll see you again tomorrow! 😀 😀

What Tornado?

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday was more exciting than it should have been. Through my eyes in a good way lol. I got home and nothing special was really going on. I fed the pets, got the mail and saw a few packages on the porch. I brought them in and left them for a bit. I let my dog out and was checking out our garden, and saw some nice things.

Don’t mind the weird newspaper on the ground. I’m really not sure where that came from. I have found bits of the same paper all over for seemingly no reason. Anyway the pop of color has us excited. The fence is a red the grass is a vibrant green and the flowers have all been shades of yellow.

After I came back inside I opened the packages. The one was a few sets of sheets for the crib that we had been waiting for. The other was my diaper bag! I’m super pumped about it. It is a “Diaper Dude”  messenger bag.

Inside that first flap is a list of things that are must haves! Check it out:

I now have everything in that bag except the snacks and utensils. Well that and the baby who wouldn’t go in the bag in the first place, but you can’t forget him either haha. It has the three pockets on the front, as well as a side pocket for a bottle. It has a main section with netted pockets, and one zipper pocket. The back side has another compartment with netted pockets, as well as a padded back with a pocket for the changing pad. There is also a zipper pocket on the inside of that orange flap. The color and style of the bag are right up my alley and I love it.

We were excited to get all the things for our separate bags. We were, however missing some of those things and I ran out to get them. I hit up the local Wal-Mart for hand sanitizer and first aid kits. While I was there I made the random decision to get an end table for the baby’s room. Just my nature haha. Buuuut, as I was checking out I got the same weather alert that we all got. It was a tornado warning! I was getting texts from my wife telling me to hurry home. I finished my transaction and headed home.

This was my site driving home. I know, I know, don’t have your phone out and drive and what not. My bad, but still. Look at that sky, it only got worse from there.

20170420_200930

When I got home it was just starting to rain. the wind hadn’t really picked up, but we headed to the basement. We had our phones, flashlights, candles, and our animals. We could see the lighting and hear the thunder rolling through our valley. Our phones were acting solely as weather radars, and we watched as the storm came and went. Thankfully it missed us and didn’t get much worse for most people. Everyone was safe and only tree damage for the most part.

After we got back upstairs I was excited to set up the end table for the baby’s room. It turned out great and took the rest of the night. It is a perfect fit and looks good with teh lamp.

It even gives us some more storage! The only thing we would really still like to have in that room is a nice rug. right now it is just some what worn hardwood. But now with our bags packed, and the room mostly complete we are as ready as we can be to have this baby! 😀

I just got word that we might be going to put the floor on our cabin, right after work. Like I’ve said before we are trying to have it at least be done enough to house people for a night by the 20th of May, so we have to hurry up haha. Our Saturday will be spent back in my wife’s hometown. We are going to her baby brother’s first birthday party and his baptism. It will be most of the day, but will be fun.

My soon to be sister in-law is also having her bridal shower that same day, so we will have to get with her either tonight or some other time this weekend to hang out and give her a nice gift. So it looks like it will be another super fast weekend for us!

I hope you have enjoyed this post, as much as I enjoyed writing it. I hope to see you all back again come Monday! Don’t forget to like, comment, and share if you feel so inclined. It is always appreciated.

I’ll see you Monday! 😀 😀
