Tuesday!

Hey Everyone!

We are back after a long holiday weekend. I can’t say that I’m happy to come back to work but it is time to get going with everything.

Saturday we installed a couple of air conditioners for the second floor and attic. Later that evening my wife had a photo shoot. A girl that I went to college with and worked with for a while came down from about an hour and a half away to get her pictures taken. It was a couple field settings, in the late evening. They turned out great, from what I can tell! 😀 I was watching Everett while the whole thing was going on.

He was having a pretty good time in the weeds. The girl who came down had her son with her for the shoot, and the two of them got to interact a little bit which was nice.

Sunday we did indeed go to the cabin. My dad, brother, cousin, and brother’s friend came out for helping purposes. My wife, mother, and son came for the outdoors. Everett was only there with my wife for a little bit because it was calling for thunderstorms. It did rain for a bit but that was about it, so I was sad to see them go over that. Everett fell in the dirt a few times and didn’t really like that. Here he is with me in the cabin. 😀

My dad is seen here cutting another sheet of plywood for the ceiling. They were able to put up another four sheets.

2

My cousin and I took the four wheeler and went up and down the hill clearing the debris along the way.

We were able to get five or so trees cut and out of the way as well as maintain some other trails. We came back and hung out for about two hours around the campfire, it was a really nice day.

Monday was a bit rough for me personally because nothing was going my way. We went and got a gate for the attic to allow Everett to have a play room on the other side, and it is the worst gate I have ever seen. It didn’t help that the studs were impossible to find in the wall. I also bought expanding foam to fill the cracks in the other room to keep the bugs out. That is all well and good except the one main gap was way too big and now I need to cut all the foam to look good. It is hot up there and it was a huge pain in the ass. Some of it made its way onto the floor, which was about impossible to get off.  After that crap that took way too long, I gave up on the day. I played video games, ate bad food, and made no further progress haha. 😀 After that the rest of the night went OK after that.

That brings us to the lazy Tuesday. I don’t have much going on today and hope it stays that way. I really don’t feel like doing much. I did get a hold of a retired electrician to come look at my lights, I just have to find a date and time that works for us. If I can get the light in and the house looking back to normal I’ll be OK again.

That is it for me! I hope you have a great Labor Day weekend! I’ll see you again tomorrow!

Happy Monday Everyone!!

I’m glad you all made it back. I had a very busy weekend like I knew I would. It went fast but it was fun at the same time. Friday night my wife came home from her week long training and we just went right to bed. We knew we had a long 10+ hour day on Saturday. We woke up early and made sure that we had everything that we needed for the wedding. It was overcast all day which believe it or not helps when taking pictures. You don’t have to play the sun and just have a good amount of natural light all over. I dropped my wife off at a house where the girls were getting ready and then hurried back to the reception hall. about an hour later the guys came filing in. My one best friend was in the wedding and had his two little twin boys with him, they were the ring bearers. I was in charge of shooting them while they got ready.

Once that was done I followed the guys to the ceremony spot. It was in a nice park with a small stone building. We had some time to kill before the girls arrived in their party bus. I was able to pose the guys in a few ways that the bride requested. Turns out the bus showed up super late for the girls and they were about a half hour late to the park. People were there and ready for a wedding, so when the girls got there it started instantly. Like I said, the venue was small but cozy and nice. It was a quick ceremony, so no one had time to get bored haha. Most of the people left and headed to the reception hall. We stayed behind with the bridal party, and families for more pictures. We ran through the list of photos that the bride wanted. The coolest part was for the last real picture they arranged themselves in a heart and let me take the drone up. I got a few good shots to make sure I had a usable photo. Again my favorite little twin ring bearers were obsessed with the drone so I flew it real low beside them and took a few photos of them. The flower girl got in on that action too.

We all left and went back to the reception hall, and fairly soon after they introduced the bridal party. Then the normal wedding festivities began. They did the dances and the cake cutting, eating, and following that they did the garter and bouquet toss. The rest of the time were were there they did a dollar dance, which is when you come up and pay a dollar and dance with the bride or groom for about 30 seconds. All the money goes to them for things that they will need as newlyweds. We got out of there at 9pm and we were beat. It is hard work being on your feet all day and holding a heavy camera. It hurts your back and knees more than you think it would. We got home and plopped into bed and that was that.

As for our home buying situation, we were supposed to draft a contract for one house today. We are doing a walk though of it at 6pm today, but we are pretty sure we don’t want it anymore. We found out that we really wouldn’t own the driveway and its next to a parking lot. We would have people blocking the garage all the time. It is really big, probably too big. It would work but we realized that if we only want to buy one house we want it to be what we want. So in light of that realization, we upped our price point to look at some houses that are at the top of our realistic budget. We  found one that has been on the market for four days, and its perfect. It has most everything that we wanted and needed. The yard is great, it has sheds, a garage, 3 bed , a finished basement, and in a really nice neighborhood. I want to jump on it before we are kicking ourselves when someone else buys it. The price is on the high end for us, but if it is a house that we want to live in for 30-40 years it would be worth paying for. We would have to manage our money well and I think we can do that. Anyway we are also looking at that house tonight and I would love to put in an offer for it instead.

That is all I have today guys I hope you have a great week! 😀 😀
