Family Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We took most of the weekend for ourselves and did what we wanted to do. We started it off Saturday morning by going out to the dam.

12

That picture is from an overlook way above looking at the back side of the dam.We later went on some trails with Everett.

3

We let him get out and stumble around a bit while I climbed up some of the bigger rocks in the area.

4

After the hiking part, we stopped at the beach part of the dam where a Tango race was going on. I didn’t get any pictures there unfortunately. It is a time trial race involving teams competing in swimming, running, biking, kayaking, and orienteering. Our company always has a team in and I really didn’t know it was going on this weekend. It was fun to sit by the beach and watch people getting in and out of the water.

Later that day I needed to scrub out the inflatable pool we bought and move it to a better location. In do so I had the hose on and guess who wanted to play with it? You guessed it Everett.

5

Sunday we started slow and picked it up a bit. We stayed home most of the day. Everett finally reached the top of the couch in his climbing adventures.

6

Once we did get up and moving, I shoveled out all of the lava rocks, that were there for landscaping out grill area. I took two truck loads of rocks, weeds , boxes, and junk over to my parents house. They can use the pavers and things that I brought over. The lava rocks can be used around their fire pit and the weeds I dumped over the bank.

I was antsy to do more but didn’t have the right stuff to do anything, so we went to visit my parents when they returned home from a reunion they went to. It was nice to sit with them and let them see Everett.

We came home for the final time, and watched a movie before heading to bed. it turned out o be a busy weekend, but busy the way we wanted, so that’s ok with us.

That is all from me today. I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Back To Work!

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday was fun but now it is back to work for two days. I’m not really sure how I feel about it. It isn’t the end of the world and most people have called the rest of the week off, just because they can. So it’s a bit slow here anyway. I have had to replace some terminals in the shop, and let me tell you it is hot out there. From the moment I walked out onto the shop floor I have beads of sweat running down my back. It is awful.

Anyway. The parade was a blast. It rained for about 10 minutes then got nice out again, it was sort of refreshing. We sat where we always have, that way people can find us. My wife’s sister came down as well as my aunts and uncles.

1.jpg

This is the only real picture I took at the parade. That is my cousins wife Cassie and their new baby Cohen. He just woke up from a nap and they realized there were other little people there haha.

After the parade we had a great time at my parents. We grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausage. My cousins, brothers, and I played a few games of Kan Jam and beat the heat in the shade of a large trees in their yard.

The hardest part of the day, for me, was trying to stay awake long enough to go watch the fireworks. My wife and Everett opted to stay home and sleep, since it was a Wednesday after all. I fought the urge to sleep and lazily made my way to my older brothers house where we watched the fireworks, in kayaks, on the pond.

234567891011

I was instructed by a Google search to use the Pro setting on my phone camera to get the best results, for firework photography haha. I set the ISO low, and some other crap, and I think they turned out pretty ok. πŸ˜‰

Then it was off to bed, only to be woken up at 4am to a screaming baby. the poor guy was hungry, and cranky. He stayed in bed with my wife while I got ready for the day, then I fed him some breakfast and took him to daycare for the second to last time. His last day is tomorrow and it is a bit bitter sweet.

That is all from me today, I hope you all had a great 4th of July! πŸ˜€ I’ll be back tomorrow morning with any luck, for a ‘Coffee Talk.’ Hope to see you then. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Great Weekend With Family!

Hey Everyone!

We had a great, hot, weekend. πŸ˜€ Saturday morning my wife’s grandparents came into town to see us and Everett. They hung out and chatted with up for a couple of house. It was nice to see them, and they love to see Everett.

1.jpg

(Don’t mind the crap in his hair) It is probably from this…

2.jpg

Later that day my brother had a somewhat impromptu diaper party for their soon to be baby. We were going to go to camp, but they decided it would be easier to have it at my parent’s house. It was hot for most of the day, but felt good to have a little fire once the sun went down. We had family and friends there throughout.

20180630_202811.jpg

After the busy day, and knowing it was going to continue Sunday, we headed home and went straight to bed.

Sunday morning my brother and I had two back to back softball games. One at 9am and the other at 10:15am. We thought since it was early in the morning that it wouldn’t be so hot….we were wrong. haha. Before the first inning we were sweating through our shirts. We played both games and won! I went 5 for 8 batting with one big home run. That is a decent day for me. Definitely not the best but the only times I got out were hard hits, they just happened to be right at the outfielder. :/ Unlucky.

After, I went home and got showered. We had to turn right around and head out to my great Aunt’s house. Her daughter turned 70Β  so they had a big party for her.

3

Like always there were quite a few people there, and a ton of great home made food. My niece was there as well as my cousin Hannah’s baby girl Olive. They live in Ohio, I believe, so we don’t see them as often as we would like. So we had to get a few pictures of the kids together, having a good time.

5

6

Everett was sharing his veggie straws with Olive before we left.

7

8

It was a great day, and nice to see everyone.

Today is back to grinding. We have a nice day off on the 4th to break up the week so that is nice. What do you all do for the 4th? We watch the local parade, have a picnic with family at my parent’s house, and watch the fireworks.

My current situation is writing this post and watching the Brazil v. Mexico game on my second monitor.

Untitled.png

I know it is a bit small, but that is what you get for trying to have a 3840×1080 picture in your post haha.

I hope you all have a great Monday! I’ll be back again tomorrow, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Successful Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We had another very successful weekend visiting family. We traveled a bit and visit my wife’s dad and his family.

Before we left, my parents also came back from an early weekend trip to see Tim Tebow play in the AA league! They sat right behind first base and their dugout. It is always neat to see someone in action that was once at the top level of any sport. If you didn’t know he was a great college QB (football) and was drafted by the Denver Broncos where he on;y had a small impact. He is now playing baseball and enjoying that. Here he can be seen stretching out that hamstring haha.

1

We went shopping first to find outfits for that photo shoot we are doing later in May. Once we were done with that we met at her dad’s house. Here you can see that Everett is very interested in what his Uncle Remi is doing on the cell phone.

7

6

We attempted to get a couple family pictures, but the weather was not cooperating. It was freesing cold and starting to sleet. That combo with two small children was a no go. We tried it, but it really didn’t work haha.

Once we ditched that idea we sat down for some homemade dinner. It was great! We had a nice Cesar salad with a baked pasta dish. Here you can see Everett trying to eat food or the big fork haha.

5

We finished Saturday up with my wife getting highlights in her hair, compliments of her mother in-law.We stayed up later than we should have and didn’t get to bed until about midnight. Which may not see like a lot, but when your average bed time has become 9pm you are really draggin ass the next morning haha.

Sunday morning came all to quickly, and our boy can testify to that haha. Even though he did sleep for a while we was still tired, and fell a sleep on me and his grandpa.

4

Once we got up and had some breakfast and coffee we all got our hair cut. Literally everyone except the hair dresser herself got their hair cut lol.

So here is Everett sporting his new do! Gah he is handsome..

3.jpg

We hung out at the house most of the day and once it got nice out we headed to the porch. It was one of those days where it feels good to be in the sun and the breeze was just a nice way to keep the balance.

2

After we left we stopped to get some ice cream for the ride home and off we went.

Once we were home and mostly unpacked I got a strong urge to do stuff. Don’t ask me why! I got all the yard stuff out and cut the grass, ran the weed whacker, and blew away the clippings. I then started to hand paint some of the hard to reach areas of our fence, and then shop-vac’s up the leaves on our patio. It was a lot to do in a short time, but all is well that ends well.

Today I am back at work and getting in the swing of things.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I’m Back! (Pictures)

Hey Everyone!

I bet you thought I died haha. If you can recall I was feeling really crappy last week. I mentioned it Monday and Tuesday. Wellllllll, It wasn’t getting better so I took Wednesday and Thursday off. I wanted to be well enough to enjoy the holiday with my family. I’m still hacking and sniffling here at work today but I’ll be ok. My wife is now sick and Everett is still yucky as well. We did make it though and we did have a great time, so I’ll jump right in!

Saturday was our busiest day, by far. My wife had a sunrise photo shoot at 7am. I was home getting Everett ready for his first swim class! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ When my wife got home we were pretty much ready to go. Here is my boy in the YMCA parking lot.

1

We took him into the family changing area where we met my mom, brother and his little girl. Everett was checking everything out so he wasn’t very animated haha. But look at that little swim suit! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

2

He was a little hesitant at first, but warmed up quite nicely. It was only 30 minutes but that seems like an eternity once you are in there. The girl standing next to us is the instructorΒ  (not just a random creeper haha)

3

4

Part of the way though they put these floating letters and noodles in the pool for the kids to hang on to. Everett was getting used to laying on his back in this one. He did get there!

5

Once we were done at the pool we had to hurry home and take showers. We were right back out the door to go to my cousin Austin’s baby shower. Here is my cousin, my aunt, and his new baby boy Koen! He is a cutie with big cheeks. (Fun fact: He is almost 3 months old and weighs as much as Everett haha)

15

Again, after the baby shower we hit the road and went to My wife’s families house for Easter. When we got there he had these ears put on him haha.

6

Everett’s grandpa and his family came over for dinner, which was a nice treat.

7

The rest of the night was spent playing with the three little kids that were there. We hit the hay early because we were drained and still were getting over some sickness. Sadly my wife woke up Sunday feeling worse. :/

Everett was enjoying some pancakes and yogurt bite in the morning.

8

Again we got ready and headed out. We were going to Erie to my aunt and uncle’s house for our other traditional Easter lunch. There were 8 children there under the age of 8! that hasn’t happened since all of my cousins and I were little. It was awesome having that many people there and seeing the next generation of little ones. The best part is they all seem to get alone and play like crazy.

After we ate I helped hide Easter eggs in the yard and my wife got Everett ready to go. He wasn’t feeling it haha.

9

Here we go!

This is His first ever egg hunt so it was pretty fun.

11

12

13

17

18

Once all the kids came back in the house and got their candy sorted we tried to get them all on the couch for a picture. This was chaotic, but fun!Β  This is about as good as any picture got haha. The second one on the left is my niece Rory and she was not having it haha. It was still pretty funny.

19

Everett was looking out the window with one of his cousins here and it was just too cute to pass up.

20

Lastly for Sunday, before the long drive home was another shot of my newest baby cousins Koen, again. He was dressed in his little bunny outfit. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

21

We woke this morning feeling groggy and out of it. I made it to work, still not feeling the greatest, but I have to power through. It can only get better from here right? haha.

I have missed you all, and hope you had a great holiday weekend! I’ll be back tomorrow, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Donation, House, & Family!

Hey Everyone!

I’m not feeling great so I’m going to keep this one real short.

Over the weekend my wife and I decided to downsize a little bit. We went through our closets and drawers and got rid of a ton of clothes, shoes, ties, etc. I was able to get four full garbage bags of stuff from my clothing alone. When we were done we took the items to the Salvation Army drop off site up the road. I like the feeling of less clutter and not letting the material good have such a hold on me. I also love the idea of someone else having the opportunity to get real use out of the things I was no longer using.

20180325_191203

Sunday we went back to my wife’s grandparent’s house to meet with a guy from the township about the land he would like to give to us. It was a simple meeting, nothing really important, but what would come next is having the land surveyed and deeded over to us. That is when things get real and money gets involved. We are still waiting on the final costs and to see if we get approved but it looks like things are heading in a good direction. Of course, that leaves us both scared of what will come if we move forward but anything worth doing will have some risk involved I suppose.

On the way back we got a call from my parents saying that they were visiting my aunt, who just happened to live in between our drive home. She was celebrating with family for for 86th birthday. This is the same place where we had our large family reunion. She recently lost her husband and see,s to be doing well. Everett got to meet his cousin Olive ,who is pictured on my aunt’s lap, for the first time. It was fun catching up with some family.

20180325_162005

This morning I woke up very stuffy and not feeling the best. I know it is just sinus issues that are making me feel like I’m swimming in my own head but it does make it hard to concentrate haha. I’m going to try my best not to get sick, and stick it out.

That is all for me, I hope you had a great weekend, and I’ll see you tomorrow! (Unless I do in fact get sick haha) πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Weekend, Anti-Phil, & Super Bowl!

Hey Everyone!

I can’t wait for Friday to come and go haha. My wife has the next week off so I won’t be taking Everett to daycare! The little things make all the difference in a work week.

This weekend we are going to head back, yet again, to my wife’s families place and spend the day. We have some tax information stuff to give her grandfather and I hope, fingers crossed, that we can talk more about getting a house out there.

Sunday we will not be watching the Super Bowl, because the two worst teams, in my opinion, are in the game. To me there couldn’t be a worse game to sit down and watch. Being a Cowboys fan my entire life, it pains me to see the Eagles at the big game. Growing up with a family full of Steelers fans I have been accustomed to also not liking the Patriots. My parents hold a get together each year to watch the game and this year I just really don’t want to watch the game. We are going to stop over for dinner and leave before the game starts. This way my mom won’t be mad that I didn’t come over and spend time with the family. I understand where she is coming from, but I’m not going to sit there for 4 hours and put myself through watching that game. If, and only if I was forced to make a derision about who I would rather win, it would be the Patriots.

Today at work we had a groundhog day luncheon. Our company has a long standing tradition of splitting in two, on and around this day. There the supporters of Phil and then we have the Anti -Phil supporters, (Kill Phil). They have separate luncheons on different ends of the shop each year and even had shirts made a few of the years haha.

Tomorrow, at work, we are allowed to wear gear from our favorite NFL team. I, of course, will be wearing my nice Jason Witten jersey that my wife got me a while back. I know of a few other Cowboys fans at this company so I don’t get ragged on too bad haha. I mean lets be real here, we have a few Browns fans still floating around haha.

That is all for me today, I’ll see you all again tomorrow morning! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Christmas #2, #3, #4!

Hey Everyone!

This is going to be somewhat of a picture post, since it was super busy this long weekend. I hope you had a great holiday weekend. Well We better get this started!

Sunday we celebrated Christmas #2 It was with my wife’s grandparents, her mother, and her sister. They made the trip even though there was supposed to be a big storm. Thank fully we didn’t get much of it. Side note, speaking of storms check out Erie, PA. I live about an hour and a half from there and they got record breaking amounts of snow this weekend. like over 50 inches in two days. Wow!

Everett is hanging out with his great grandma and her nice boot, in this first picture.

20171224_113355

Later we decided to get the party started and do some gift giving. We, of course, needed a picture of our baby in front of it all. A little drooly but still cute!

20171224_140134

Although he really doesn’t know what is going on, and only wants to eat everything he touches, it still looks like he was pretty excited. He knew this wasn’t a normal day.

20171224_140320(0)

Have you ever seen a 7 month old so excited to get a couple of DVDs?!?

20171224_140426

Opening gifts with his mom and grandma they decided it would be best for him to wear a ribbon until he could find a nice hat!

20171224_141259

Once he found a nice hat the ribbon was replaced and all was well within the baby world.

20171224_141441(0)

I’m not sure he knew how to conquer this next tower of gifts.

20171224_141708

The rest of the day was spent catching up with one another and having a nice meal. It was nice not to have to travel back for Christmas for once. His aunt got him this nice Teddy Bear and it was a challenge to get him to pose in anyway with it. It was his veryΒ  first Christmas morning, and Christmas #3 was held by just the three of us. πŸ˜€Β  He was trying to eat the tags and bow the whole time. haha.

20171225_084052

Later that day we prepared for Christmas #4 with my side of the family. Thankfully they only live one city block away. Before we left we tried to take a few family selfies, if anything they are memorable.

20171225_160144(0)

My two brothers, my parents, sister in-law, niece, and brother’s girlfriend were all at my parents house as well. Here is my dad feeding Everett his bottle.

20171225_184323

We again had a nice meal and were able to catch up with one another. We also had the Steelers game on since the rest of my family are Steelers fans. Makes sense right? I’m the odd one out. We loaded the car at the end of the night and headed home. We had our first Christmas experience as parents and I would say it was a huge success. We will have to do it again sometime πŸ˜‰

I forgot to mention the boy got a ball pit! At first he was pretty terrified and I almost passed out blowing it up, but he came around and so did I!

signal-2017-12-25-132321

signal-2017-12-25-132334

Lastly here is my baby boy hanging out in his crib yesterday as happy as could be!

signal-2017-12-26-124656

Again I hope you all had a great weekend, and were able to spend some time with your loved ones. If it is as bitter cold as is it here, bundle up and stay safe. If not, well…I’m jealous haha. Have a great day! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Christmas #1!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome back on this fine Monday. Lets see, I’ll fill you in on this weekend in this post. Friday was very normal and not much was going on. Saturday we woke up and my wife wanted to get some last minute Christmas shopping done. We headed about a half an hour away and hit up the T.J. Maxx. We brought Everett, like we normally do, and he was pretty fussy the whole time.Β  I ended up carrying him so that my wife could focus on getting what she came for. He is getting heavy enough now that he really hurts your back. We were also having a guy come buy our pellet stove finally! He was supposed to come at 3-3:30 Saturday and he called me while we were still out shopping, saying he was at our house! We were about 25 minutes away and definitely not home. I was able to tell him that I would get a hold of my dad and/or brother to meet him. By the time I got home he was gone and my dad handed me the money. That was the easiest thing I had to do all weekend haha.Β  So here is your typical ‘money shot’ after the sale haha.

20171216_160023

You may remember me talking about a game called Ingress. It is a mobile augmented reality game. If you don’t play it, you should. You should also be sure to join the blue team (Resistance). πŸ˜‰ Anyway, every so often a group of us get together, hangout, and most times, play the game in a group. We also stop and have lunch or dinner.Β  We met up this summer and played for a while and had some awesome pizza. It being a terrible winter night, we all just met up for some food at a bar and caught up with each other on Saturday. We had the typical 7 people there, even though we were missing a few others due to sickness and car trouble. I’m sure they will see us at the next one. If you are thinking about trying it out just know that it is a huge game, played worldwide, and addicting as all get out. You can hook up with local players all over and join groups on things like Facebook, Google Hangouts, and Zello. Dinner was actually really dang good. I built my own blue cheese burger, while others got home made prime rib, and pizza. All of which got great reviews.

Sunday my wife’s dad and family came into town to celebrate Christmas with us. We are trying to start the trend of not really traveling on Christmas since we always travel to see them every.single.time. This year is working well so far, they came this weekend. Next weekend will be the rest of her family and possibly mine. We are probably going to my parents late Christmas day just because my brothers and I went in on gifts for my parents and it wouldn’t make since to not all be there. Back to yesterday though. They brought a nice spaghetti casserole, and we made salad and bread sticks. Nothing fancy but here is our little table spread.

20171217_153505

Afterwards the boys played a bit and we opened gifts that we got for each other. Here is my brother in-law Remi playing with his dump truck.

20171217_160610

Next we have Everett and his Grandpa Fred, hangin out on the couch. Look at those happy faces.

20171217_162432

This one is just a group shot of everyone, except me that is, while opening gifts.

20171217_162856

Here we have Everett with a bow on his head looking at his farm puzzle. He really likes chewing on those haha.

20171217_163035

Everett and Remi are both playing with Remi’s puzzle in this one. I love seeing him sitting up and interacting with other kids.

20171217_163641

We have two shots of him opening his big gift from his grandma and grandpa. He got a little sit on train with fun little buttons and lights on the sides. He can have it for a while and grow in to the rest of it.

20171217_163930

Seriously how stinkin cute!

20171217_164040

After that they headed home, they live about an hour and a half away. With it getting dark so early it is hard to stay very long anywhere. Once they left we gave Everett some of the spaghetti casserole.

20171217_18384420171217_183924

He isn’t quite sure what to do or think about it all, and he is slow to bring real food to his mouth. We are trying to use a technique we learned from my cousins this summer called ‘Baby Led Weaning’ It is an approach to introduce solid food, to encourage the baby to self-feed. It is not done with any pureed food on a spoon. It isn’t to wean them off of milk but rather on to solids. Everett is now sitting with us and ‘attempting’ to eat what we eat. He can eat at his own pace, as well as as much or as little as he wants. He isn’t tied to only a few types and kinds of food. He is still getting breast milk and he is under very careful supervision. It seems to be going well. πŸ˜€ It is different from what people are used to and it freaks people out but it just fine for babies. I was freaked out at first, but not too much anymore. If you would like to read about it check this link out. Mama Natural.

That was about the end of our night. Oh, I am also testing streaming services to find what will work for us. I started my 7 day trial of Sling TV and can tell you now it isn’t what I want. I will be going to Hulu Live TV next weekend and think I will like it much more. I will also try to plug the coaxial cable right into my TV and pick up local channels. I’ll try to remember to let you know how it all goes.

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Hunting & Family Time!

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

As you know I went out hunting on Saturday, and since I didn’t see anything it was a pretty uneventful day haha. I mean I saw some birds and chipmunks but that was it. So I took a a couple pictures of my surroundings and a couple walks around the woods before I went home. This first picture was taken about 6:40-ish in the morning. I thought it was pretty neat that it was naturally this purple. Oh and it is from the stand I was in.

20171202_071622

Here is about the spot an hour later.

20171202_071450

I got out in the woods about 6:30am and crossed the creek to get to the stand I was going to sit at by the time I took that first picture. I sat their most of the morning until I did a big loop around the hill. My brother and dad were out as well so we met up around lunch time at the cabin and ate. After that I went home. I’ll most likely be going back out this coming Saturday as well. My brother’s deer is being processed so he should have the meat back soon.

Sunday was a lounging day for me, but turned into doing some needed tasks. I went to get groceries, alone because I am much faster haha. I still hate doing it, but I hate it more when I have to slowly stroll. This way I can get in and out in about 40 minutes, with everything instead of 2 hours. When I got home I had to take a picture of my boy with his animal book and drool on his chin. πŸ˜€

20171203_125418

Later that day we decided that we would for the first time feed him his first piece of ‘real’ food. We cut him up a banana and let him go for it.

20171203_13482220171203_135300

Clearly you can tell he is new to this whole eating thing. He didn’t do much more than suck on it, but the taste was still there and I think he liked it. We will now continue to introduce certain foods to him and let him learn on his own how to pick them up and put them in his mouth. I was surprised that he didn’t instantly do that, because anything else he grabs he jams right up there. This will not be his main source of food, we will keep him on breast milk, hopefully, up to a year.

After we got him all cleaned up we took him and the dog for a much needed walk. It had been a month or more since we had gone on one and the weather was sunny and clear. It was a bit chilly so we wrapped up the babe pretty tight. This was also the first time he was front facing in the stroller.

20171203_144042

Those eyes though.

That brings us to today, back at work. :/ I would much rather do something else with my time but this pays the bills and the people are nice. We didn’t end up taking family pictures because our nephew was running a fever and to be safe they didn’t come. I also am pleased to tell you that I got a hair cut and I don’t look like a moron, so that is a plus!

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
