Voices!

Hey Everyone!

I’m a bit late today, but had a few things to tie up before I could hop on here. There hasn’t been anything too exciting from the last time I posted so this will be pretty short.

Everett was having a terrible day yesterday, and we really aren’t sure why. He was really screaming, like not a baby fake cry. It was getting kind of scary for a bit. He has been teething quite a bit, but never had any fever. We weren’t sure if he had a stomach ache or what but it wasn’t good. It was pretty non stop, we let him have some Tylenol and that didn’t seem to stop any type of pain that he was feeling. We finally laid him down to bed early hoping that he would just pass out. Good news was that he did. ๐Ÿ˜€ He woke up feeling much better from what I could tell.

Since I don’t have a bunch of content for today, I’ll share some videos that I have been watching lately. I have been on a language and voice kick for about a week and I’m more into it than I though I would be. Here is one on fictional languages from film and TV:

The rest are from Sam Johnson who is a voice teacher. He analyzes singing voices.

These should keep your interest peaked for a bit, I hope!

That is all from me today, I hope you all have a great Tuesday! I just found out that we are going to Olive Garden for dinner so my day got a bit better haha. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Another Busy Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We made it through the weekend. Friday We took some time out to weed the major part of our backyard garden. I’m not entirely sure what the purpose is since by the time any of it gets done it might be winter haha.

During that process Everett picked up his mommy’s phone.

123

He is such a dang cutie! He has been picking up on things so quickly. He is learning a ton. He has been organizing things, in his own way. He will take and place items in and on other items. We also have a verified 5 teeth! We haven’t been able to have him show us long enough for a picture, but I promise they are there haha.

Saturday was a huge softball day. In total our co-ed team played six games and took second place. I was their pitcher for each game. As a team we sustained two injuries to a couple of our girls. We had to pick up two different girls along the way, because you need four to play.ย  My groin injury I sustained during the regular season flared up part way through, so that didn’t feel good. Today my back and everything is not doing well, so I’m taking it easy here at work.

Sunday we headed out to visit my wife’s father again. He was placed in a nursing home during the week. He needs to be placed somewhere that can handle his dementia, and not just another nursing home. But either way he is at least in a safe space. Afterwards we went to a local bar in our college town and had lunch with her mom, before heading home.

On another note season 6 of Orange is the New Black is out on Netflix. I am halfway through and it is decent. It is, so far, at a bit of a slower pace but you can tell the build up is for something good. If you watch it, it is time to get at it!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and I hope to see you back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Hey Everyone!

Today is the day. My boy is one year old today! It has all happened so fast in our minds, when in reality it was a whole year haha. He has grown so much from the moment we first saw him!

20170522_172854

He was the cutest little baby we have ever seen, partially because he was our own. But lets be honest, he’s a cutie!

20170523_130016

He was small, but a healthy small. Everything about him did and still does light up our lives in a big way. We cannot imagine life without him. ๐Ÿ˜€

Cale (1 of 6)

It is hard to believe that he was created by the two of us. We often just stare at him in amazement and wonder. The fact that we have the ability to create human life is something that can’t be fully understood until, you yourself create it.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

There is no other feeling like it in the world. I’ve grown up knowing how and why people have children and that someday I too would want children of my own. There was never any real meaning or feeling behind those thoughts and words. I thought it was just something people did, because they were supposed to. It wasn’t until our baby boy was brought into this world that we started to realize the true impact he would have on our lives. I have never felt a bond or a closeness so strong before in my entire life!

To my son: Today at 5:20pm Everett Hugh you will be one year old exactly. Your mother and I love you very much and can’t wait to see all of the great things you do. We want to watch you grow, and learn all there is to learn, and see all there is to see. I’m sure we will be proud of the person you become. I’m sure there will be hard times, and things that we won’t see eye to eye on, but I hope you always know that we love you. We are not perfect, and for that I hope you can forgive us, but remember that we are only trying to do our best, to do what is best for you. We hope to raise you in a way that you can stand on your own two feet and take on the world armed with all of the tools you need to have a full and happy life.ย  We love you more than anything! โค โค

My wife had an impromptu photo shoot with Everett a few days ago. I mentioned it in an earlier post I’m sure. So what better time to share them with all of you then on his first birthday! ๐Ÿ˜€ Please enjoy these amazing photos!

I hope you all have enjoyed this little post. I am thankful everyday that you all stop by to see what is going on in our lives. ๐Ÿ˜€ I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Not Catching A Break!

Hey Everyone!

I haven’t been able to catch a literal break in time this week. I, again, apologize for not being able to get a post out yesterday!

Yesterday started like any other, but quickly became one of the busiest days I have had in a long time. At work Around 9am I started deploying the 3 big ass printers for our 3 shipping locations. They had to be done in a live environment in order to avoid addressing conflicts, which can get a little hairy. I ran in to a snag after the first one and had to figure out why it was doing what it was doing. After picking the brains of my two co-workers I was able to find that the post number had to be changed in order for the printer to work. The old port number only worked for printers from 2009 or older. The new one was for everything newer. So that took about my whole day.

I left work early at 3pm. I had to pick Everett up from his baby sitter, and get him over to his Ear/Nose/Throat doctor. He was checked to see that his tubes were still in; they are. He was then tested again for his hearing, where they stick up in a room and play white noise sounds. He is gauged on how well he reacts, if at all, to those sounds. Before getting his tubes he was only reacting to sounds 45 decibels and up. After getting tubes he is where he should be, right around 20-25 decibels and up. So all good news there! ๐Ÿ˜€

We headed home and met my wife. She took Everett and played with him outside while I got ready to power wash the garage. I set it all up and found that I really didn’t have enough power to get any of the crap off the siding… :/ Our hose was old and had some small holes, so we took off and bought a new one and a new decorative holder for it at Lowes. Once home, I hooked it all back up, with no real change in the washer. I also noticed that the spigot was leaking too, so I tore it apart, and noticed that it was one of those frost guard ones that goes the whole way though your foundation into your house. This is so that in the winter months there is no water in the line outside at risk of freezing and breaking your pipe. I hopped back in the car and was hoping to just find a simple solution to fix the part that was leaking. No such luck. I returned home to pull the whole damn assembly out of the concrete block and take it back to Lowes for a third time, and get a replacement. I had to widen the hole in the block before it would fit. I also had to re-apply that plumbing tape to the threads two times because the first time it was dripping. Once it was water tight, I applied a Gorilla Glue caulking on the outside and inside to keep the bugs and what not out. Being about 9pm at this point I didn’t have a chance to test the pressure washer again haha. It is crappy out today so I may not be able to test it for a week, but at least I know that all the connections are now good for future needs.

Work today is just as busy, hence why I’m trying to get this post out a bit early. I know I’ll be really busty soon haha.

So that is all for me today! I hope you have enjoyed the post and your stay, and with any luck I’ll see you again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

HUMP DAY!

Hey Everyone!

It is hump day and pay day for me! I like getting paid, as do most people. I have been very busy today at work, and with my co-worker leaving to go on his annual golf trip I will be flying solo for the rest of the week. I have a full plate of things to work on and with any luck that will make the rest of the week fly by.

I have been thinking about calling my student loan companies and seeing if I get on an income based plan, if it may lower my payments. I have been making level payments for the past few years and it is pinching me pretty hard. If I can save a few hundred dollars a month that will only help my savings and or car buying process. They are a pain in the ass to call and talk to.ย  I’m not sure why all service people are terrible to talk to. Awful.

Everett kept us up literally all night last night. He had a fever and was coughing and thrashing around all night. We really got about an hour of sleep. At one point we fed him to see if that would help and he threw it all back up on me and the bed. It was just a really rough night. My wife kept him home today and we have an appointment after work to get him checked out. We both hate seeing him sick like this. Otherwise he is just as happy as ever, but since he has been like this he is more cuddly, so that my wife likes haha.

Another thing about work today is that I get my yearly review. I’m nervous, for really no reason. I think right after this I’ll get called into my boss’ office and get reviewed. A couple of weeks ago we had to compile a list of projects that we worked on or completed so he has that for reference. He will then bring up his review with his higher ups and that will determine where we fall for our profit sharing bonus and whether or not we get any raises. Let me tell you, I could really use a raise.

I forgot to mention anything about spring yesterday. I thought to myself why is that? I determined that since it was about 30 degrees outside and whipping wind, that it didn’t really feel like spring, so it just passed right through my mind haha.

That is all I have for you all today, I’ll be back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What A Nice Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was pretty fun. We went back to my wife’s grandparent’s house and had a nice time. Friday night we kind of celebrated our sister in-law’s birthday. So her little family came over and we had ice cream cake and board games. Their little boy Carter was there and was trying to give Everett hugs, but it was a bit aggressive. When Everett would try to crawl away he would try pushing on his back until he kind of fell flat. We didn’t quite care for that so we stopped it pretty quick. We don’t want Everett to not want to play with others because of something like that or not want him to like going back there.

The boys were fine other wise. Here is carter “helping” us put Everett to sleep.

1

The next day we woke up and had some breakfast. I got up at about 5am, because I had wine the night before. Don’t ask me why, but when I have even a little bit to drink I am wide awake early! So I was able to catch the sunrise, while everyone was asleep. ๐Ÿ˜€

IMG_20180303_060615.jpg

Everett had his bottle, and then some Greek yogurt. If you follow me on Instagram you probably already saw his before and after photos haha. This one happens to be an after photo.

2

Later my mother in-law stopped by to bring him this toy to play with. He really enjoyed it, even though the batteries were dead. XD

3

Since he is on the move he found this chair, that normally has a teddy bear sitting in it. So I moved that and put him in its place. I think it fits just right!

5

We took the time to talk about the whole house situation and moving back, and it didn’t turn out super well. We ultimately would like to move back and be there, but it may not be in the cards. Her grandfather is not sure he could get a loan for a house, due to his age. This means that we wouldn’t, probably, be able to put one down since we already have a new mortgage. I don’t think the bank would give us more. He did offer to give us $25K for a house, or I’m assuming anything we would need to move back, which is tempting and nice. It just may not be enough, or at the right time for us to be able to make it happen. I may call the bank and see what they think, and have them explain bridge loans, and explain when payments would start in the instance of putting down a home, rather than buying one out right. This assuming we could get any money. Who knows, but it is looking like we may just stay where we are and pay our mortgage down and sell when we find the right place near us, or try moving back there again.

Saturday afternoon we came back home and just kind of unwound. We weren’t seeing eye to eye on the big discussion, about the housing dilemma, so we just took our space and chilled. Sunday we spoke about it when we were calmed down and ready to listen to each other, and everything went pretty smooth. Again we still don’t have a real final decision but we are getting there.

Everett was up pretty much all day Sunday, and ready to move. Don’t mind my awful hairline, rather focus on the happy baby on my shoulders haha.

4

We were gifted some shoes from our sister in-law so it was time for Everett to try some on. I don’t think he was too big of a fan but he seemed to be fine.

8

We spent the rest of Sunday cleaning the house, doing laundry, and getting groceries. It was pretty relaxed, just the way we wanted it. I was able to mail in our taxes today, and scan all the documents into my PC yesterday. I also organized my letters from Abel in a scrap book, that way I can keep the hard copies to look back on hopefully in 8 years when he graduates from the program. ๐Ÿ˜€

That is all for me today. I hope you had a great weekend, and I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What A Day!

Hey Everyone!

Let me run down a recap of the rest of my Monday. I left work early to have enough time to gather my dog’s urine and take it to the Vet for further testing. She had a UTI and I wanted to make sure that it was all cleared up and that she was good to go! To be short, they called back and said she was all clear. Again I took her on the leash and slid a dinner plate under her haha. I scared her a little bit this time so she stopped going. I had to transfer the urine into a baggie because I didn’t have a different small container with a lid. It took some real skill to do all of this, I’m sure you can imagine haha.

I was all ready to head to the Vet and my wife had picked Everett up for his 9 month checkup. The timing was great. I was ready to go, and so was she. We grabbed Everett and headed out. We hit up the Vet first and then headed to his appointment. We made it there with about 30 seconds to spare. The called his name and back we went.

The appointment didn’t really go so well, unfortunately. :/ He only needed one shot, so that was good, but he seemed to be in rough shape other wise. He has another yeast infection on his bottom, and a double ear infection. This after he just got over the Flu. They gave us a referral to meet with an ear, nose, and throat doctor in Buffalo, for tubes. We have time to decide if he really needs them or not, but we may as well get the process started. After the appointment we had to grab some groceries. We hit up the local Wegmans and had some subs there, before shopping for food. That way we didn’t shop on an empty stomach. Everett was having the best time, because for the first time he was able to sit in the cart and see everything.

17-korea-unified-flag-olympics.w710.h473.jpg

He is still a bit tiny so we watched him closely but he did great. We finished grabbing groceries and headed home. Once we were back in town we had to pick up his two prescriptions at the local CVS. He needed stuff for his ears and cream for his baby butt.

By the time we really got home, it was about bead time. We unpacked, and put everything away, and that was that.

One thing I forgot to mention, was that Everett also bonked his head at daycare and had a nice bruise on his head. I just told her that he is now crawling and pulling himself up. I did all of this so that she would pay attention to him and make sure he wasn’t doing anything that was going to result in something like that. :/ I guess he pulled up on a toy and was bouncing around, while holding on to it. He fell forward and hit his face. He also got a bloody nose…DOH! I just wish they did a better job at watching him. Sadly there is nothing or no one in the area willing to watch kids this young. So again, our options are more than limited. I feel trapped a bit, because I have to have child care, but the care isn’t up to snuff. This then leads to us not feeling comfortable with him being there for safety reasons, but having no where to go.

We will see how today goes when I pick him up.

That is all from me today! I hope you are having a great Tuesday. I know I am taking some time to chill after yesterday’s all day affair haha.ย  I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What A Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was a fun one for me. I didn’t just sit at home the whole time and wish the weather was better.

We were trying to dodge the Flu though, and I think my wife lost that battle. I for one, am still doing fine for the most part. I have a stuffy head, but she is feeling all the aches and pains. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

We can start off of Saturday! I woke up bright and early and got ready, like normal, because….I had a Masonic seminar most of the day. It was about an hour and a half away and my cousin and one other guy were going with. We left our city at about 7am and teh meeting started at 9am. I corresponded with my wife’s grandpa, so I could drop offย  our documents for taxes. Two birds. One stone. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We arrived a bit early, like you should, and signed in. We continued down aย  line of tables and got our folder with information for the day and then the good stuff. Next came the doughnuts and coffee! I had too many doughnuts and that is all I’ll say, but they were good.

The meeting was for people looking to move through the ranks in lodge. It covered everything, in basic form, you would need to run a lodge as a Worshipful Master for a whole year. We were able to asks questions in an open format and have a couple good conversations. There were mentors and District Deputy Grand Masters there from all over the state. So, lots of knowledge there for the picking! These type of events are fun, because you can really get a sense of how big the organization is and how big of an impact they make on the community. For lunch we had some homemade sloppy Joe’s, egg salad sandwiches, veggies, soup, and apple pie. Afterwards we had a presentation of organ donation and blood donations. As a Mason, signed up for the blood club, you are able to ensure that if you ever need blood that we will get it. This is of course after insurance pays for what they can. It also covers your immediate family, so that is very nice to be a part of. We finished up our little lecture and were out of there around 1:30pm. We waited around a bit and my wife’s mom brought over some frozen goods we should have had the weekend we didn’t go back. I guess you can retract my previous statement and say we killed three birds with one stone. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sunday we wanted to get out a little bit since, other than my meeting, we had been cooped up for a while. Everett has gotten over the Flu and we figured some fresh are was much deserved. The weather was somewhat chilly but it felt good to me, with the appropriate attire. So we went for our first walk all winter! We made sure to bundle Everett up as best we could:

6

We were able to sit him up more since he is bigger. He seemed to like being able to see more. I was wondering how much he would remember since developmentally he hadn’t really been on a walk in months. He can now see further and start to understand his surroundings. We also had to stop and take a nice family photo along the way:

1

Everett didn’t seem overly thrilled but I assure you he had a good time. Our dog was with us too but good luck getting her to hold still!

After our walk we watched a movie, which was not particularly good. I would have reviewed it but I am fairly busy at work today. I can tell you it was Spectre, the James Bond flick. I know it is a couple years old, but I can tell you that IMDB.com has it at a 6.8 I would go lower than that. It was very disappointing in my eyes. The story was there but just about everything turned me off from it. Either way it was nice to stop doing everything and watch a movie. The rest of the day my wife edited some pictures, Everett played beside us in the attic, and I was able to get a few games in. Over all it was a good weekend.

Today I am jam packed with things to do. I have to collect a urine sample from our female dog, and get it tested again to make sure her UTI is gone. Then it is off to Everett’s nine month appointment. This is where he will get a ton of shots and be mad at us for a short time haha. By the way….Everett is nine months old, I failed to mention that last Thrusday! Woo!

That is all for me today, I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I made it in to work today! I was ready to stay home, not because I was too ill but because we couldn’t find anyone to watch Everett. I spoke with my mom when I got home and she didn’t seem interested. She had watched him the two days prior, so she probably had to get back to work.

Late in the evening I got a hold of my boss and made sure that it would be ok if I took the time off to stay home with him. He was fine with all of it, and I thought 100% that I would be home today. No sooner then when I got off the phone with him did my dad shoot me a text. He asked if Everett was going to day care or not. He said that he was willing to watch him. I gave him a call did a quick run down of what we do and what we don’t do. And that is that.

This morning he will be there, well in ten minutes since I wrote this line. My wife will do a more visual run down of how we operate, and the rest will be history.

Tomorrow I have a Masonic learning seminar, type thing. It is about an hour and a half away and will take most of the day. My cousin Mike and I are going along with one other guy from our lodge, Tom. This seminar is for people looking to move through the ranks, and although I am not I still hold a position that is geared towards moving up. I would love to move through the ranks but I’m scared my memorization will never be enough to get all those lines down. I may be that guy who scoots over to secretary and stays for years. It requires less lines but still demands respect. Anyway, this seminar is going to be pretty fun, even though I’m a bit under the weather. They provide lunch and what not then we come home. I have to leave by 7am tomorrow morning.

That is all for me today. I’ll try not to spill my coffee all over myself today. ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

House, Dog, & Crib!

Hey Everyone!

I’m not sure if I said anything about this before, but my wife had that opening conversation with her grandfather. It went very well, and I think he is open to the idea of building a house and letting us buy it from him. He told my wife that he was going to the bank this week and was going to look into it. We will be going back this Saturday, I believe, to give him our stuff for taxes and we will have a conversation in depth. With any luck we can start on this right away. We have a friend that will do our basement for a very decent price, and I have a few feelers out for contractors, if we go with building rather than modular. If this all works out most of my life dreams would be complete. I grew up thinking, in my head, that I would have a house away from others, land at my disposal, a forever home, with a family. This would check the rest of what I don’t have right off of that list. The hardest part would be having to leave my job. I love my job and have a very stable job. I have huge potential to move up here and one day possibly become the Director of IT. The people here are great, as well as the company as a whole. We are in the midst of big updates and upgrades here, as well as one lady in our department retiring. So this will be shit timing, but if it has to happen it has to happen.ย  :/ More on that when I know more!

My mom stayed home with Everett yesterday because our baby sitter called us and told us she was sick. It is safe to say they had a good time.

Untitled.png

On a different note, our dog decided to pee in our house a few times yesterday, as well. My mom let me know that there was some blood in her urine, which led us to believe that she had a UTI and we were right. After I got home from the dentist (clean report by the way) I had to get a urine sample from her which was…interesting haha. Take it to the vet and get it tested. With the antibiotic and all it was $50 for everything. Not what I wanted to do but had to be done.

Last night we decided to give Everett the crib life experience. He has been crawling, backwards only. And liked to back himself right out of his crib.

1

2

He was in his own room and we finally got to use his nice baby monitor. He didn’t want to go to sleep at all. He was exploring his new bed and getting stuck haha.

3

4

He made it most of the night. In the wee hours of the morning my wife got him and brought him in bed with us. He was fussing, and was probably freaking out because he wasn’t used to waking up in that room. I would consider it a success. We will try again tonight. I may have to lower the mattress one more level.

That is about all from me today, I hope you are having a great Tuesday. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
