First Coffee Talk Of The Year!

Hey Everyone!

Good Morning!

Since Everett has been back to day care for a full two days I have a sore throat and a stuffy nose. Go figure! I think I can get over it pretty easily and I really hope it doesn’t get worse. Other than that I’m doing well.

As a follow up to yesterday’s post, I was able to exchange my Ethereum to Ripple. So I now have the currency that I wanted, and I am looking for good storage options.

This morning has been somewhat eventful, in that I was able to help the president of the company with a technical issue. I like helping him because it helps validate my worth haha. In a way. Speaking of work I am coming in tomorrow to get some overtime. We are replacing a whole network closet in the shop and everyone needs to be gone when we do it so we don’t stop production. It should take a few hours so I should make a nice bit of money. πŸ˜€

The other big fun for Saturday is my brother’s birthday dinner. He will be 28 on the 8th and we are going to celebrate tomorrow. He will pick where he wants to eat and we will all go and have a good time. We were going to watch the college football championship game and eat in on his actual birthday, but we decided against it.

Do any of you like watching college football? Do you have a favorite team? I am, of course, a Texas Longhorns fan, but I don’t follow it super close. I just like checking updates and watching bowl games. College players and teams tend to have better plays and more fun games.

I hope you all have a great morning, and weekend! I’ll see you again Monday. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

College Ball, Pig Roast, & Camping!

Hey Everyone!

I’m back after a nice long weekend. It was a bit cold the first two days but we made the best of it!

Saturday we met up at my dad’s house, like we planned. People started to arrive around noon, for some good food and college football. It was the coldest day this weekend, which made watching the games outside a bit more difficult, but we managed.

My dad’s old referee buddies came and we had ribs and homemade BBQ sauce, it was all delicious. We watched Penn State blow out Akron and Texas get beat out by Maryland. They stayed to watch the Michigan game but I was too cold and went back home.

Sunday was another big day. We got up and got ready to head to my wife’s dad’s house. He was having a big pig roast! We got there around noon-ish, and there were already a bunch of people there.

Here is a shot of our baby boy being held by his soon to be “grandmother.”

Here he is with his great grandfather. Our boy’s middle name is his middle name. He is a great man with a better head on his shoulders.

Here is what we were there for!

Above is a 120lb pig, chickens, and baked potatoes. On the side they boiled five dozen ears of corn from my grandfather in-law’s fields. We stopped off at the grandparents house after the pig roast and grabbed some more vegetables, and what not. It was a late night and we got home just in time for bed.

Monday we had a campfire cookout at our camp. We also got the peaks covered and brought out the door and frame we are going to use.

We had a little guest in the cabin when we first got there! He ran off fairly fast.

Like you saw we had camp food, and relaxed around a nice fire to keep the bugs away. We all can’t wait to finish that cabin up a bit more to move stuff inside. It was a busy weekend that was full of family, great food and good football! Can’t beat that.

Coming up this week, we come off of our Masonic ‘summer break’ and have a meeting and initiation tomorrow. I also have to come in early and cover for my co-worker on Thursday.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, as we did. I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Time For The Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We are in the home stretch here! Labor day weekend is upon us.

Tonight is the clam before the storm. I was able to get the yard mowed yesterday. I’ve got it looking good. I ran through and grabbed a ton of weeds out of the garden and dropped them over the hill at my parent’s house. That leave tonight free, for anything. My wife and baby aren’t feeling the greatest so I doubt we will have much going on.

Saturday my dad is getting his old referee crew back together for a BBQ rib and college football party. There will be 10-14 people there having a good time. He is going to bring the TV outside so we can watch in style haha. I think it is all kicking off at noon, that should be enough time to sleep in, HA lies!, get the baby ready and have breakfast before heading over.

Sunday we are off yet again, to my wife’s dad’s house. He is having a pig roast. We haven’t seen much of that side of the family since the baby was born. Most of the people that will be there haven’t even met him yet. The food will be great, and so will the company. Hopefully the weather cooperates. Her dad and his girlfriend are getting married later this month.

Monday I have off and will be with the baby all day. My wife has to go to work sadly. It should be a nice relaxing day. I hope to get a few things done around the house.

If you are doing anything this weekend, let me know! I know some people go camping, some go boating.

I’ll be back Tuesday with an update on how it all went down. With any luck I’ll have a few good pictures to go along with it.:D πŸ˜€

Big News!!!

Hey Everyone!

Over the weekend a few things went on worth mentioning. I filled out my picks for the college football bowl games, went to a play, and sanded a wall. On top of all of that I can finally announce that my wife is 16 weeks pregnant!!!

I know you probably don’t want to hear about any of the things I said besides the pregnancy thing so if that is what interests you skip the next three paragraphs. πŸ˜€

The bowl games are something that my family does each year. we figure out the odds and pick who we think is going to win each game. We spend time with each other watching the games and conversing, it is a nice way to get together. The games that you think are going to be the biggest blowouts you pick for the most amount of points. It is all based on how many games there are. This year I think there are 40 or 41. The person with the most points at the end wins. You also make your pick for who the national champions will be. That is held on the 9th I think.

The Christmas play that we went to was great! It was a local production with singers, dancers, and of course actors. The setting was my home town and it revolved around our traditional Christmas walk. The story was that Santa was on his way to NYC and had to stop on the way because a boy in my town lost the Christmas Magic. His mom was deployed over seas and there was no snow. He just wasn’t felling it. Santa and his wife deliver a book to his house and him and his sister go into the book, transporting them to the North Pole. They go through the whole thing explaining to him the four F’s of the season. Those being Fun, Food, Friends, and Family. In the end the boy believes again and his mom comes home from deployment just in time forΒ  Christmas. Oh ya, it snows too πŸ˜‰ My co-workers daughters were dancers in the production and it was very well put together.

As for the hole in our wall it is now sanded and ready for paint. I can’t wait until this project is complete. We will be able to put our house together once all the dust and mess is gone. It can’t come soon enough. We have a light gray color for the walls in the kitchen and nothing for the dining room yet but we will. We bought stainless steel rope lights that will hang a few inches and 60W traditional filament bulbs for the lighting elements. I still have to run the cable to the electric box for the contractor to hook up.

Yes, my wife has been pregnant for some time now and I’ve been dying to tell people. We wanted to wait until we knew, for the most part, that it was healthy. We have a big appointment coming up on the 30th. We will find out the gender and get a really good look, maybe even a 3D image. She is now showing a little bit and wants to take a lot of pictures. She is overall remaining healthy and not super sick. There are days where she doesn’t feel the greatest, but for the most part she is doing well. I bought her a big body pillow a while back to support her when she gets a bigger belly. It barley fits in our bed but she uses it every night. Up until now not a lot of people knew about it. We told our families around 12 weeks and have waited four or so more to tell everyone else. I have only told you guys and my co-worker. We definitely want to know the sex so that we can fix the baby room up accordingly. The element of surprise isn’t something we want right now, even though it is neat, because we are trying to get the whole house organized. The more we know the better.Β  Of course she is rooting for a little girly princess and I would like a boy. No matter what we will be more than happy, I honestly wouldn’t mind one of each, to get the best of both worlds. I am excited to be able to finally let you all know. I will keep you all posted with further developments. If I can snag a picture or two at some point I surely will.

That is all for me today! I hope you have a great start to your week. Feel free to leave a comment or a like, they are greatly appreciated. Have a good one, I’ll see you allΒ  tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
