Birthday, Cabin, & Dam!

Hey Everyone!

We had a very busy weekend. It all kicked off Saturday morning. My wife got up and got ready to go visit with her dad and get her hair done. Everett and I were flying solo most of the day.Β  Once the both of us got ready we headed out my niece Rory’s second birthday party! It was pink and Minnie Mouse themed in many ways.

1a1b

She got a nice 6V four wheeler that Everett and the others were all curious about.

2a

Being a bit shy, like he is, he stayed away from most of the other kids. I think a lot of it has to do with the small age difference. It won’t matter in a year but right now they are talking and running around better than him still. He did get some one on one time with that four wheeler though haha.

4

I plopped him down on it twice and pushed the button to make it go for him, while we drove it around in the grass. He seemed to like riding it. Later we headed over to the nearby play ground for some more fun. Here is Everett, who climbed up the stairs on his own, and his cousin Rory.

5

Then my brother Nathan followed Everett through the tube haha. Everett wasn’t sure what to think about that.

6

This was his way of telling me that he wanted to go down the slide.

7

We hit that slide about 20 times. Then just another shot of him climbing those stairs again.

8

My grandparents came down too. They were at our other cousins second birthday party just before and made it down to Rory’s. Everett was trying to put his great grandpa’s cane in his cup holder haha.

9

Here is my grandma holding my other niece Bridget who is just over two months old, and my dad and brother holding Everett.

10

Rory and Everett were on a path right to each other in this picture.Rory tried to kinda hug/kiss him in passing haha.

11

Then just real quick another picture of my baby niece! πŸ˜€

12

Everett and I finished out the night doing some laundry then hanging out at my parents place so they could see him some more.

Sunday we had quite a bit going on. I headed out to camp only for a couple hours, since what my dad decided to do with the ceilings looks terrible. We made progress never the less. My brother’s friend Dave came to help out as well.

13

We added 24 more cross supports to attempt a flat ceiling. This is where we all got mad. My dad decided that we wont’ put the boards flush and that they will just overlap and be rounded. Which is very ugly and we all hate it but he doesn’t seem to care. :/

14

Here you cal see that they are just putting them up and leaving the extra. Why? Again, no one knows. Its ugly.

15

16

17

Later I met with my wife while my mom watched Everett at home, for some pictures. She want to start advertising ‘Adventure Themed’ engagement and wedding pictures. She got a sister of a friend of hers to come down after their wedding to get these taken. I take some behind the scene shots for her to have as well.

18

19

20

21

The last spot in that tour was at a boat launch where we put them in a row boat and I took the drone up and took some shots from above that I don’t have back yet. We mad it home, had some dinner, and got ready for bed.

I told you we were busy haha. I hope you had a great weekend, I know we did. I’ll be back again tomorrow, hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Amazing (Busy) Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

Back from another great and productive weekend! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Friday wasn’t fun by any means but I did get to cross something off the to do list. After work Friday I picked Everett up from his last day at daycare, went home and started working on our tub. I had to chip, pull, and chisel the old caulking out. That was the worst thing I have done in a long while, even worse than painting our fence. After that it was time to clean and re-caulk it. I tried for the first time the hand squeezed tubes of sealant, thinking it would be easier in that tight space, but I really didn’t like it. I went through 4 of the little things and at the end of the day would have liked more, but that amount at least filled the space back up. So on that note everything is looking good.

Saturday was our super busy day. We woke up, had breakfast and headed to my wife’s mom’s house. We got to her place and cooked out on the grill, fr lunch. Everett was having a great time under the patio umbrella.

1

My wife was invited as a guest to the wedding of her dad’s, wife’s, mother’s wedding. She was also there to take pictures of the event. At the same time I was heading out to my best friends 30th birthday party that his wife threw him. They happened to be the same time and in different directions, so I missed the wedding. I was able to catch up with him and his family for a couple of hours before heading back to the reception on the lake. There they had a beautifully decorated ball room on the ground level over looking part of the lake.

2

The dinner consisted of everything on my plate haha. Keep it short and sweet! πŸ˜€

3

Once it was time to leave the reception we stopped to visit my wife’s dad. He isn’t in the greatest health anymore and it has come on all of the sudden. His brother and sister in-law were there too. We hung out for a bit and then stopped back at her mom’s to get Everett. By the time we made it home again it was 10:30pm and we were beat!

As days go, Sunday was next on the list. We had 2 softball games in the middle of the day. In short we won both games pretty convincingly. I pitched the second game until it was a blow out and then we all swapped positions. I hit a big home run in the second game, but other than that a quit hitting day for me with only a .500 average.

4

When I got home I just stayed in my ball pants and mowed the grass, and trimmed the edges. Everett was outside with him mom enjoying the sun and the pool we inflated. When I got finished I just stripped down and laid in the pool. Then the randomness started. We wanted to head back to the local Ollie’s Bargain store to look around. We wanted to get something for the yard. We we did and headed home. More on that in a bit. My mother and wife decided to take the initiative and weed what they could of our massive garden. It is over run with that Morning Glory crap and it is everywhere.

9

So it all looks like that up top

610

They got this back half looking pretty good, but had to stop due to time and lack of room in the truck bed lol. If they could do this for another 3 solid days they could weed all of the flower beds in the front and back yard, if they hustled. πŸ˜€ In the mean time I was draining the pool to move it for our big purchase! I was in the background setting it all up.

7

We bought this nice offset umbrella for the yard as well as the bug net, four chairs, and glass table all for $200! πŸ˜€ I’m grinning at that price all day. πŸ˜€

Lastly a nice look from within. If you look close you can see Everett ‘helping’ in the last four pictures haha. He stood out there with them the whole time, just holding on to the wheel barrow.

8

Once I was done unloading the scraps at my parent’s house, we called it a night and here we are. It was a great weekend I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if given the chance. I hope you all had an amazing weekend as well. I’ll be back again tomorrow for another daily post, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What A Day!

Hey Everyone!

I wasn’t able to get a post out yesterday, and for that I apologize. Aside from being swamped at work, I had to meet with the plumber once again, and take the dog to the vet.

This weekend was fun and now I’m sore. We played 5 softball games on Saturday with a fairly new younger team. Still the same core people but some nice additions. We will have a good team this year. It was a long hot day, but felt great to get back out there.

Back to yesterday.

First at work I have been setting up a few machines at the same time trying to get everything out at the right time. I have a ton of things in my office. If you didn’t know better you would start to think it was a storage shed haha.

Over the weekend our big sink that the washer drains into, was clogged. Without being able to do laundry or wash the paint sprayer, we were sitting ducks. So around 11 am I got the call that the plumber was on his way. I was with him at my house until about 1 pm. They were the same company that I used before. He took apart all of the fixtures to the sink and moved it out of the way.

1

Until we were left with just this pipe sticking out of the ground.

2

In that picture you can see the small trap on the floor and his snake. He ran that a couple of times before doing this.

3

This is a balloon mechanism that you feed water into. the end expands, like a balloon, in the pipe so a seal forms. It then uses a tight nozzle on the end to shoot water out in a jet stream and blast the gunk out of the small pipe in the the main line. Thankfully this worked and we were able to clear the pipe. He put every thing back together and back to work I went.

I was only at work for another couple hours before I had to leave early to pick up Everett. Once I got home I turned right back around with the dog and took her to the vet for her annual Lyme vaccine. She lost the winter weight, and they said she looks and sounds great. We will take that win! She is a real pain in the ass at the vet. She walks in the door every time and starts barking non stop until she is put in a room. They put her in one early because she was so annoying haha. Its always a struggle.

I finally made it home and changed my clothes, and headed out to paint some of the fence. The weather isn’t looking great for the end of this week so I wanted to make sure I used the good days while they were here. My paint is getting old and the latex is getting a bit chunky? I guess? So the sprayer is getting clogged and isn’t working well. I decided to hand paint all of the weird spots like the 4×4 posts, and 2×4 supporting beams. this way when I go get another fresh gallon tonight, I can just spray the boards and maybe be done! that would be great.

That was my busy weekend and even busier Monday! I hope you had a great weekend as well, and I hope to see you back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Fun Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

So this weekend (more Saturday) didn’t go fully as planned but was still a good time. My wife was sick and it only got worse. The plan was to take her to her friends baby shower, then the dinos, lastly the photo shoot. What actually happened was, We got to the baby shower, only to hand over the gift and head to the walk in clinic. My wife found out that she had a sinus infection and needed an antibiotic. The time we had left between the two events we spent at her mom’s house trying to let her sleep, which didn’t work too well because she has crazy dogs. :/

When she got up and moving we headed to the dinosaur event. We knew Everett couldn’t really do anything, but we wanted to get him this exposure. I also want us to get used to planning trips like this so that we are used to it when he is old enough to do things. IT was a pretty neat event I took too many pictures so I’ll collage them below:

And for a special at the end…….I got a video of the crazy games that they kids were playing in the back. Enjoy this short bit of crazy!

We were able to make the photo shoot and I think it went well. It was an engagement shoot for a friend of hers. It was back in our college town, and that holds great memories for all of us. She now has to edit and get those pictures out, but good news is that with this payment she can buy her own domain. She is really working on getting her site built and her social media in working order. I’ll update you when I can.

Keeping on photography for a second, and mentioning something. My wife and I are taking a tip over memorial day week. We are heading to her Uncle’s house in Colorado! That being said, she is in a few photography groups and they sometimes swap sessions. She had interest from a photographer in Nebraska and it happens to be on our way to Colorado. If we can get it to line up we may stop in Omaha and exchange family photos sessions! That is pretty stinkin cool.

Sunday was a lazy sleepy, laundry, movie type of day. We watched three kids movies, napped, and did nothing haha. SO that is all from me.

I hope you all had a great weekend. I hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Discover The Dinosaurs!

Hey Everyone!

I have been keeping very busy at work, which is a great thing. It makes my entire day go by so fast! I am already ready for the weekend haha. I have been working some more on the UPS upgrades at work and even created a nice spreadsheet to present my work when the time comes. I have also been working closely with a company in Florida, to repair and replace our IBM terminals in the shop. They are old and have to be, to work with our somewhat dated system. Lastly I have finally placed my April order to replace workstation PCs, and even got some monitors and battery backups! πŸ˜€ I kinda squeeze those things in sometime for stock purposes. If someone needs something I try my best to have it.

Speaking of the weekend a bit ago, our Saturday just went from fairly dull to something I am looking forward to. My wife has a baby shower in the morning for one of her friends so I’ll travel with her to that and just kinda hang out. Afterwards, I just bought tickets to “Discover The Dinosaurs: Time Trek” It will be at a local convention center. I’m not sure Everett will ever remember such a thing, but it fills the time gap that we have.

DinoEblast.jpg

Here is the write up for the event:

At Discover the Dinosaurs: Time Trek, you’ll be transported through our special Time Lab where you can observe enormous prehistoric dinosaurs and glimpse at mythological, magical dragons. This experience is all about hands-on family fun! Kids will love the larger-than-life creatures, and activities like Design-a-Dino, Prehistoric Poop, or the Race Through Time Labyrinth will keep everyone entertained. Families can compete in the Cretaceous Challenge Zone, visit the Time Trek Theater to meet baby dinosaurs, and test their dino-knowledge in our family and individual trivia contests.

PLUS at our Dragon Edition events, we’ve incorporated famous dragons and lore from three very distinct cultures – dragon legends are thought to have started with the discovery of unknown dinosaur fossils!”

I think it will be pretty neat. I’m not really going in with any expectations, so i can’t really be disappointed haha. I’ll be sure to take some pictures and show you all what it was like.

After that fun, my wife scheduled a photo shoot with a couple. We will meet them at the desired upon location around 6:30pm and then travel home. So you can see we really packed that day with plenty to see and do.

On another note I was please to receive a phone call from the garage door people, telling me that they came to my house and fixed my door! I’ll get the bill in the mail, but they fixed it! It hasn’t worked since we moved in over a year ago, and I just got around to having it fixed. I have been picking it up and putting it down this whole time for my wife. It will be amazing to click a button and have it actually work haha. they changed out the gear box and attached the missing arm that connects the motor to the door. They were going to go back and apply weather stripping to the sides to eliminate the gaps on the sides. I’m not sure I have ever been this excited about a garage that I don’t even get to park in. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

That is all for me today, I hope you enjoyed the post. I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I’m Back! (Pictures)

Hey Everyone!

I bet you thought I died haha. If you can recall I was feeling really crappy last week. I mentioned it Monday and Tuesday. Wellllllll, It wasn’t getting better so I took Wednesday and Thursday off. I wanted to be well enough to enjoy the holiday with my family. I’m still hacking and sniffling here at work today but I’ll be ok. My wife is now sick and Everett is still yucky as well. We did make it though and we did have a great time, so I’ll jump right in!

Saturday was our busiest day, by far. My wife had a sunrise photo shoot at 7am. I was home getting Everett ready for his first swim class! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ When my wife got home we were pretty much ready to go. Here is my boy in the YMCA parking lot.

1

We took him into the family changing area where we met my mom, brother and his little girl. Everett was checking everything out so he wasn’t very animated haha. But look at that little swim suit! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

2

He was a little hesitant at first, but warmed up quite nicely. It was only 30 minutes but that seems like an eternity once you are in there. The girl standing next to us is the instructorΒ  (not just a random creeper haha)

3

4

Part of the way though they put these floating letters and noodles in the pool for the kids to hang on to. Everett was getting used to laying on his back in this one. He did get there!

5

Once we were done at the pool we had to hurry home and take showers. We were right back out the door to go to my cousin Austin’s baby shower. Here is my cousin, my aunt, and his new baby boy Koen! He is a cutie with big cheeks. (Fun fact: He is almost 3 months old and weighs as much as Everett haha)

15

Again, after the baby shower we hit the road and went to My wife’s families house for Easter. When we got there he had these ears put on him haha.

6

Everett’s grandpa and his family came over for dinner, which was a nice treat.

7

The rest of the night was spent playing with the three little kids that were there. We hit the hay early because we were drained and still were getting over some sickness. Sadly my wife woke up Sunday feeling worse. :/

Everett was enjoying some pancakes and yogurt bite in the morning.

8

Again we got ready and headed out. We were going to Erie to my aunt and uncle’s house for our other traditional Easter lunch. There were 8 children there under the age of 8! that hasn’t happened since all of my cousins and I were little. It was awesome having that many people there and seeing the next generation of little ones. The best part is they all seem to get alone and play like crazy.

After we ate I helped hide Easter eggs in the yard and my wife got Everett ready to go. He wasn’t feeling it haha.

9

Here we go!

This is His first ever egg hunt so it was pretty fun.

11

12

13

17

18

Once all the kids came back in the house and got their candy sorted we tried to get them all on the couch for a picture. This was chaotic, but fun!Β  This is about as good as any picture got haha. The second one on the left is my niece Rory and she was not having it haha. It was still pretty funny.

19

Everett was looking out the window with one of his cousins here and it was just too cute to pass up.

20

Lastly for Sunday, before the long drive home was another shot of my newest baby cousins Koen, again. He was dressed in his little bunny outfit. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

21

We woke this morning feeling groggy and out of it. I made it to work, still not feeling the greatest, but I have to power through. It can only get better from here right? haha.

I have missed you all, and hope you had a great holiday weekend! I’ll be back tomorrow, and hope to see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Motivated & Busy Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

I made it to work today! I really wasn’t sure if I would. I was debating about sending my boss that e-mail at 9pm saying that I wouldn’t be there. I decided to take some NyQuil and sleep on it. I woke up again still feeling crappy but I didn’t have a sore throat or anything so it didn’t get worse. I figured I’d give it another shot. So, here I am.

I actually got really motivated after I got home last night. I didn’t take any pictures because I was still really out of it, but I weeded my flower beds. Well, some of them. I have a bunch, so I was only able to do the front yard ones that people will see. I noticed that I had some flowers already poking up and figured if I don’t clean these up now it will be harder to do later. I grabbed my rake, gloves and hedge trimmers and took two car loads of yard scrap to my parents house. I dumped it all over the bank by the creek. It was a bit windy and only about 45 degrees but it was sunny and it felt good to be outside for a bit. It probably didn’t help my sinus issue any haha, but It boosted my moral. πŸ˜€ It will be nice to see the flowers and things again, after a long winter.

My head is still pounding and my nose is still running like a leaky faucet. I hope I am able to get over whatever this is before the weekend. I have plenty of things going on that I don’t want to miss. If Everett is feeling better, which he should be, he will have his first swim class. We have a baby shower Saturday as well. After that we are going to celebrate Easter with my wife’s family. On Easter we are going out to my one aunt’s house for a large family lunch. We have been doing it for years, and it gets us out and about.

That is about all for me today, I hope you all have a great day. I’ll see you again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Weekend Update!

Hey Everyone!

I was unable to have a “Coffee Talk” on Friday. We, very oddly enough, were busy at work on a a Friday morning.

That being said I had a productive work day, and a great weekend. Saturday we tried our best to get some good sleep in. We didn’t have anything to do until we left around noon. Of course we got up and played with the babe. We left around noon to go back to my wife’s hometown. We would spend the day with her grandparents. Before that though we stopped at her dad’s house. This was to of course see them, and to get Everett his very first hair cut. Yes it has only been 5 months, but he came out with a head full of hair and it had to happen.

Here is Everett sitting with his grandfather and uncle! I think this was right before he got his hair cut. I don’t have a great before and after picture but it was a big difference.

20171104_163611

Here is him after the hair cut.

20171104_15434820171104_154524

His neck line is now all shaped up, and his hair around his ears is all trimmed nicely. He looks like a real little man haha. So cute.

I also got to spend some time with my little brother in-law Remington! Hes a handful. I introduced him to being tossed in the air and after that he never left my side haha.

signal-2017-11-05-095827

Again, back to spending the day with her grandparents. We left her dad’s and met her grandparents at Red Lobster. We ate a really nice dinner there and headed back to their house. Her grandfather makes wine, so I had to indulge. I don’t often get to really enjoy having a few drinks because we are always out with our boy, so it was nice to know we were in for the night and really have a few. Later that evening my wife’s brother and his family came over to see us. The real reason we were in town was for their son’s first birthday party, Sunday. We hung out with them and introduced Everett to him. It was cute, he is starting to walk on his own and looks like a little drunk guy.

My wife’s grandmother hurt her foot a while back and has it in a cast. She usually does everything around the house, including the cooking and cleaning. That next morning to help her out I made the breakfast for everyone and my wife helped clean around a bit. It was the least we could do. Afterwards we got ready for the birthday party.

Once we got to their barn, where they had the party, we showed Everett their goats!

20171105_130707

I’m not really sure what he thought about them haha. We currently live in the city, but if we ever get the chance to live out a bit further I would love to have chickens and goats!

This next picture is of the birthday boy himself! He didn’t destroy his cake the way other kids do, but he did enjoy himself and ate plenty of it.

20171105_142013

After they opened his gifts and had the cake we had to head home. Traveling with a baby is no joke! Just going all around with him all weekend was enough to make him fussy all last night. It is tough for him to get back in the swing of things after a weekend like that.Β  Once we were home we had clothes to wash, bottles to clean, and another birthday to celebrate!

That’s right, my dad’s birthday is technically today. We dropped all our crap at the door and headed back out to the buffet. Once we ate it was back to their house for some ice cream. It was very yummy! Then we finally got home for good. I gave Everett a bath and his hair naturally dries like this.

20171105_195408

And that was our weekend!

I hope you all enjoyed yours as well. I’ll be seeing you again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Zac Brown Band & Cabin Build

Hey Everyone!

I am back from my long weekend!

for those who may not know, my wife and I went to a Zac Brown Band concert she won tickets to. Β The concert was Thursday evening at 7 pm, at Youngstown State University. I guess it was the first time they have ever had a concert, and people we having a blast.

The band Midland was the opener and play for about an hour. Here was our view, mind you it was still the opener and daylight so the stands weren’t full yet.

mher (2)mher (3)

Here is a quick clip of Midland from Thursday playing there no. 1 hit ‘Drinkin’ Problem.

The rest of the night was awesome. The Zac Brown Band is great live! They even covered Bohemian Rhapsody, I didn’t expect that. It was looking like rain and that held off. It was a ton of driving for one night but it was all worth it.

mher (5)mher (4)mher (6)mher (7)

The pictures aren’t great but I wanted something haha.

Here is a clip of their super famous song ‘Chicken Fried’.

You can really tell the crowd was into it. If you make it to the end you can see that they continue to just do awesome instrumentals for a whole minute.

We made our way home and arrived after 1 am. We went right in, thanked my mom for watching our son and hit the hay!

Friday was spent relaxing. Saturday and Sunday I went with my dad and brother to get some more work done on the cabin. We started on the ends first.

Here is my brother adding the first piece of plywood.

mher (9)

We have arch gaps to fill at the top but the windows are all in and framed.

mher (13)

The other side done the same, with the bigger window framed.

mher (14)

Here is just a shot of the outside.

mher (11)

Next we worked on framing in a couple of french doors that we no longer needed. They will not be doors at all, rather just tall windows with builtin blinds!

mher (10)

Here is where they will go, one on each side.

mher (16)mher (12)

Here they are mostly framed in, and I figured I should get a picture now or else I would forget. The first is with the blinds closed then open. It should be a great feature for light and style.

mher (1)mher (18)

It is moving right along. Once we frame in the real door, and cover the two ends we are going to seal it up. We are going to caulk the floor gaps, and use expanding foam around the roof and walls. Next will be to insulate the inside all while having the other people putting on the siding. from there we are going to put Amish rough cut wood on the front, and plywood the inside. Then it is just a matter of building the interior, as far as bunks counters, and moving in furniture. Still quite a bit to do but it should be ‘livable’ for a weekend by first snow.

I had a jam packed weekend, but it was all a good time. I hope you all had great ones as well. If you get a chance check out my last post. It is a short film review that I was requested to do. Kinda neat actually.

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Hello Friday!

Hey Everyone!

We made it! Friday is here again, and we can sail into the weekend. As you may know my weekend will consist of a few different events.

First we will be heading to a Harry Potter Festival on Saturday. This will be a fun way to get out and about. My wife loves the Harry Potter series and So do I. Last night we watched the first movie to prep for the big day haha. We have to expose our son early lol. Here is the, for the lack of a better word, stuff for it:

20476579_10155608825043967_5284843355147827526_n20292942_10155608825088967_186567699294555945_n

The forecast is looking good and we are as ready as we can be! I can’t wait.

From there we have to travel most of the way home and meet my family for a work bee. Our family reunion is approaching fast. Remember it is a week long and fun for everyone! We have a ton of stuff that needs to get done, like moving camper, cleaning toys for the little ones, yard work, etc… We hope to get a lot done this weekend with that. It will be the 10th through 16th that I will be gone. I am ready for a full week off! πŸ˜€ I can’t wait for my family to meet baby Everett, he is named after the guy who started this reunion so it is pretty special. My great grandfather Everett and his wife are the focal point and trickling down from that is who comes to this event. If that makes sense haha.

Depending on what we can handle there may be another event we go to this weekend. I’m not sure if we will have time, or be up for it physically, but maybe! If we go I’ll be sure to snap some pictures! πŸ˜€

That’s all from me on this fine Friday. Ihave a busy day, but should be able to get most of my stuff done by the end of the day! I’ll see you all again on Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
