Around The Water Cooler!

Hey Everyone!

Last night we ran to the store, and ended up picking up some slippers for Everett. They are too cute not to share so here we go!

That was last night as well as him climbing on his Diaper box and dancing to the theme from Gilmore Girls.

This morning he was still loving them.

I hope my boy can brighten your Friday! I hope to see you back again Tuesday! 😀 😀

Hey Everyone!

Today has not been a great work day for me. Yesterday I restored a file for one of our Engineers, and today I was informed that we didn’t go back far enough. So I was tasked with going back a bit further. Seems simple right? Do what I did yesterday with an older back up. Well, I’ve tried that. Three times. Right now it is running a process that should only take about 6 minutes, and has been going now for over an hour….

My co-worker who normally does this stuff is off in Florida for the week. I am hesitant to do anything else, because I don’t know enough about the back up settings and don’t wanna screw anything up.

To make matters worse I just had another guy call me about a file he ‘lost’ and needed back. The kicker is that he doesn’t even know where it was saved. So talk about a wild goose chase. I’ll be 100% lucky to find that with the information I was given, then restoring it, which you now know hasn’t been going my way today. :/

In other news I have dropped Caffeine from my diet. It started, fully, Saturday. Sunday and Monday I had a decent headache, on top of my terrible back pain. Today I’m doing much better. My headache is gone, and I’m hoping to have less anxiety. So far things seem good. I’m not sure If we can have ‘Coffee Talk’ anymore though. It would just be a lie now haha. We will see.

Anyway, back to work for me. I have to try and sort some of this stuff out. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Great Weekend With Family!

Hey Everyone!

We had a great, hot, weekend. 😀 Saturday morning my wife’s grandparents came into town to see us and Everett. They hung out and chatted with up for a couple of house. It was nice to see them, and they love to see Everett.

(Don’t mind the crap in his hair) It is probably from this…

Later that day my brother had a somewhat impromptu diaper party for their soon to be baby. We were going to go to camp, but they decided it would be easier to have it at my parent’s house. It was hot for most of the day, but felt good to have a little fire once the sun went down. We had family and friends there throughout.

After the busy day, and knowing it was going to continue Sunday, we headed home and went straight to bed.

Sunday morning my brother and I had two back to back softball games. One at 9am and the other at 10:15am. We thought since it was early in the morning that it wouldn’t be so hot….we were wrong. haha. Before the first inning we were sweating through our shirts. We played both games and won! I went 5 for 8 batting with one big home run. That is a decent day for me. Definitely not the best but the only times I got out were hard hits, they just happened to be right at the outfielder. :/ Unlucky.

After, I went home and got showered. We had to turn right around and head out to my great Aunt’s house. Her daughter turned 70  so they had a big party for her.

Like always there were quite a few people there, and a ton of great home made food. My niece was there as well as my cousin Hannah’s baby girl Olive. They live in Ohio, I believe, so we don’t see them as often as we would like. So we had to get a few pictures of the kids together, having a good time.

Everett was sharing his veggie straws with Olive before we left.

It was a great day, and nice to see everyone.

Today is back to grinding. We have a nice day off on the 4th to break up the week so that is nice. What do you all do for the 4th? We watch the local parade, have a picnic with family at my parent’s house, and watch the fireworks.

My current situation is writing this post and watching the Brazil v. Mexico game on my second monitor.

I know it is a bit small, but that is what you get for trying to have a 3840×1080 picture in your post haha.

I hope you all have a great Monday! I’ll be back again tomorrow, and hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Hey Everyone!

It’s Thursday, we are most of the way through the week that is something to cheer about. Work is slow, I am bored.

My wife is home working her first day! That is exciting, I hope she is home loving what she is doing. Everett is at daycare for the rest of this week and next, so that she can learn the ropes. Earlier today she was setting up all the software on her PC. It can only get more stable from here.

I have been playing that House Flipper game way to much in my spare time. I may be addicted lol. I have only had it this week, I believe and already over 17 hours in the game. Which isn’t a ton for me but it is when I am always busy. In my prime gaming ‘mode’, through college, I was averaging 90+ hours of gaming every two weeks. So, yes more than a full time job.

Keeping it short and sweet today, because I am super scattered today!

I’ll see you all again tomorrow morning for some ‘Coffee Talk.’ Hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Will You Be Following The Olympics?

Hey Everyone!

The winter Olympics are upon us! the coverage starts on the 8th (Tomorrow). The opening ceremony is on the 9th, those are always really cool to watch. These countries go all out.

There is some tension this year, like most years. This year may be a little more tense, with North Korea teaming up with their southern sister. This of course because of the looming Nuclear war, they may want to start. Also the Russians have been banned from this years winter Olympics, for doping the year before. Some Russian athletes are able to compete under a neutral flag, which is nice, since the actions of a few ruined it for the whole county. People spend their whole lives training to go to these games and compete for their country and now some of those people will not be able to do so. So yes some tensions will run a bit high this year, but I am hoping for the best. I want there to be nothing but good times at the games.

Here is a quick little schedule for the games.

If that is too hard to see you can check the schedule here.

I am a big fan of the freestyle skiing and snowboarding, curling, and biathlons. I’ll try to watch those if time permits. I really don’t worry about skating or luges.

What are some our your favorites? Do you watch the winter Olympics at all? Let me know in the comments below! 😀 😀

Hey Everyone!

We have made it to the middle of the week and are on the slide into the weekend.

Yesterday, at work, once things calmed down a bit I tried to figure out what I would need to build my wife a pretty epic photo editing PC. I found out it would be around two to three thousand dollars. Right now we do not have the money for a full build so we are just going to have to deal with it until we can. Unlike other things you can’t really buy one piece at a time, or your whole PC will be outdated by the time you get all the pieces. Sure you can buy hard drives that last years, but as far as most other parts you will want them at the same time. It is also just easier to keep track of. There are things that she could and would keep from her old one like her hard drives, speaker system, and monitor (that would come to me replacing my 11 year old one haha) The build is pretty great for what shes needs. It would have a 7th gen i7 processor, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 120 GB SSD (For OS only), Two 6 TB hard drives @ 7200 RPM, as well as a GTX 1050. The external parts would be awesome as well including a brand new mechanical keyboard with extra keys for binding Photoshop macros, and two new 24 in monitors running at a 144Hz refresh rate. This all means one thing. She would have to clean off her desk haha. Anyway, we will have to wait and see what the tax refund fairly brings, and how we handle out basement water proofing before we decide.

We had a nice night in, and had home made chicken quesadillas for dinner. I really like the way my wife makes them. Everett ate with us and we gave him a couple strawberries. You can see how that goes:

He already ate most of a full one before that one haha. Needles to say he needed a bath afterwards. We rounded out our night by hanging out in the living room playing with Everett and watching some T.V..

This morning started pretty well. I was in a good mood, we got up early enough that we weren’t scrambling to get out the door, and the roads were OK. I got Everett to his babysitter, and then got an email that a few people didn’t have a network connection at work. That means the moment I walk in the door I have to get to work. We had three machines not connecting to the network. We found out that it was due to our likes of DHCP addresses being full. Those are the addressees within a certain range that are just handed out, when a device connects. Once we saw that it was only a matter of finding out what shouldn’t have been on the network, disconnecting them, and reconnecting the proper machines. Since then I have been back in a good mood. I had my coffee, and took care of a few other minor issues, but nothing too serious.

I will be riding out the rest of the day as smoothly as possible. That is all for me today, I hope you have a great Wednesday! I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀

Summary Of The Next Week …or so

Hey Everyone, Thanks For Coming Back!

Yesterday I did a run down of sorts on what went on during the holiday weekend. Today I would like to look ahead and let you all know what will be going on the next 10 or 11 days. there are some pretty big things and a lot of moves, in more than one way.

Today is my last day of sanity before this mess all starts. I may be able to muster up the energy to go paint a few walls at my new house, but I’m not sure yet. Tomorrow is a big day to kick everything off. I won’t be putting out a post, for the reason of, ‘I won’t be here at work to do so’. I will be taking my last half day of vacation to finish the fence that we started this last weekend. On top of that I have Home Depot delivering 3 brand new stainless steel appliances. The bad part about that is that they have a four hour window, so I have to be available whenever. Once this gate is done on the fence I will be able to bring my dog over, which is a huge part of the moving process. Without her we won’t officially move. So I’ll be checking that off my list tomorrow, as well as the kitchen being mostly ready to go. To finish off the week I will finish painting with my wife and get the upstairs trimmed, after work of course.

Saturday and Monday (Also won’t be here to post) I will be hunting the elusive White Tailed Deer, native to this region. Opening day was yesterday but it was buck only. To optimize my chances I had this second Monday called off in advance. Saturday is the opening of both buck and doe. Both days will be an all day affair, unless I get one Saturday then I may not go out again. This year we are going to butcher our own since our old butcher is in poor health. It would be nice to get a buck, because I haven’t yet.

The Tuesday after (The 6th), I will be here at work but for how long and when I won’t be sure. That is the day that we are having our internet and TV service installed. They supposedly will be calling me 30 minutes before they arrive. In that time I must leave work and go be there for up to three hours. I don’t know it it will be around this time or not, so I may get a post in and I may not. I hope to though, maybe I’ll sneak one in if I have the time. Again the rest of the week will be dedicated to working then moving stuff.

Saturday the 10th we are getting a tiny break and going with my brother and his fiance to a local hockey game. I haven’t been to one in years. We are excited to go, but have to miss my companies’ holiday party. :/ This brings me to Sunday the 11th. Gah, I am not really looking forward to this day. This will also be the end of this stressful busy streak. My wife really wants our kitchen wall to be busted out and turned into a breakfast nook. This will open the galley style kitchen up a bit and give us more counter space. I like the idea, but after finding out that it was the original exterior wall of the house I am a little hesitant. Her mom knows a contractor that will come and cut it out and knock out the bricks of the wall, with my help. He will install a steel “I” beam to support the weight of the house, as well as do the drywall, and install a counter top for us. He said we can have it all done that day as long as I can stay and help. I am worried about the stability of our house, and I’m not sure what would happen if something goes wrong. Since he is doing this as a favor and not as a service there will be no real paper trail , so if something does go wrong I’m not sure about the legalities to hold him responsible for shotty wok, if that is the case. Just thinking about the whole thing kinda makes me sick, I’m just hoping that its all done correctly and goes off without a hitch. I don’t want to have my house fall down and then have no way of holding this guy responsible.

So that is my immediate future! haha I hope you have a less stressful week or two planned. I hope you have enjoyed my post as always, and I’ll see you again Thursday! 😀 😀
