Bits of Everything!

Hey Everyone!

This will have to be another quick post. Today for lunch we met in the cafeteria and ate with one of the summer help kids that worked within our department. We had a couple departments there and the new VP. It was nice to just chat with everyone a little bit because we don’t always see each other.

It is pouring down rain here today. It was pouring down rain last nigh as well. I’m sure my yard is flooded lol, and I hope it hasn’t come into the house. Fingers crossed! We haven’t had a ‘flood’ in a while so I hope we are ok. It has been a nice reminder that the summer is, sadly, ending soon. 😦

Everett has a haircut scheduled for tonight around 6pm. This will be his 4th cut in less than two years. His hair grows pretty darn fast.

I was also informed that tonight we have a Masonic practice. I found out about it this morning. It got lost in the long month. It is usually the 4th Wednesday in the month and general the next Wednesday is our meeting at the beginning of the next month. Months like this one have five Wednesdays and screw everything up haha. They are going to motion at the next meeting to just have it be the last Wednesday of each month. That will be much better.

Lastly today is my pay day! Woo! I was finally able to put a couple bucks into each of my savings accounts this time.  XD I’m hoping to keep saving until I hit my own set buffer amount and keep going. That way I can feel safe in getting a few things done and know that I didn’t just drain the whole account.

That is it for me today. I hope you have a less rainy Wednesday than me, and I hope to see you back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Where Have I Been! (For Shame)

Hey Everyone!

You may have thought that I fell off the flat parts of the Earth. Even though it seems that way it isn’t the case, I promise!I had every intention to post Thursday and Friday.

Let me explain. As you may know my baby had an ear infection, and my wife and I had head colds. He was already started on his antibiotic and starting to feel better. I was still feeling a bit under the weather. I woke up Thursday feeling worse. I came into work anyway because I didn’t want to take time off and not really have a medical reason. I quickly realized that I couldn’t think full thoughts and even walk in a straight line, without having a shooting pain in my head stopping me in my tracks. I spent the next hour trying to contact my family doctor only to have their line be busy over and over and over again…. Their phone system must have been messed up. I finally made the decision to leave and go to the walk in clinic at the hospital. Of course only to find out that they didn’t open for another hour…. I was clearly not in the right state of mind. When I arrived, at the correct time, I was seen and told that I had a bad sinus infection. At this point it was hurting in my ears and still shooting pains in my head. They sent me a script for some big horse pills. I took the next day, Friday, off as well because I was feeling worse than the day before. I really couldn’t even move the slightest bit without the worst pain I have felt in a long while. By the end of that day I did start feeling better, I wasn’t sure how much better, but it was significant.

I went to bed hoping that I would feel more ‘like normal’ in the morning. That was indeed the case. I woke up still congested but I was able to walk and bend down with out the pain. I was indeed clearing up. Just in time too! My dad and I were signed up for the company men’s outing that day. It started at 8am, but we didn’t go until noon. We were signed up for the horseshoe tourney and the cornhole tourney. I decided that this would be a good test of how I felt and maybe get some fresh air. We stayed and have lunch, dinner and some giveaways. The event was held at the local Amvets gun club. The weather was unbeatable, and the food and company was better. All around it was a great day. Here are just a couple pictures I grabbed.

Sunday, since I felt like a loser for not pulling my weight, we spent most of the day cleaning and tidying up. Early on we got groceries, which was nice because no one was there at 8:30 am lol.  We later went for a walk around the neighborhood. I tried watching the Dallas game, but they had a lightning delay in Denver and then proceeded to get their asses kicked 😦 It was rough.

Today I am BACK! Back at work, back at blogging, and back to normal.  I have some catching up to do here in the office, so my post will be early. Sorry for going dark, but I’m back at it now!

I’ll see you all tomorrow! 😀 😀

Daddy -O-Five Update!

Hey Everyone!

A while back I posted about the ‘Daddy-O-Five’ scandal. If you are unfamiliar with it I leave a link to my first post. Riiiiiiiight…..HERE! Feel free to check it out.

Last we knew two of the five kids were living with their biological mother. That is still the case, and since that update we haven’t heard anything else. That is/was because there was a gag order and legal proceedings were going down. This has now been covered on multiple new outlets and of course back on YouTube. Heather and Mike Martin have now been charged with a 10 year suspended prison sentence, and 5 years probation for child neglect. Some may see this as going to soft on them and others may not. The gist is that if they break probation in any way they can serve up to 10 years in prison.

Here is a write up from Fox 5 News: Link

Another one from The Frederick News Post: Link

And lastly one from The Baltimore Sun: Link

If you want to hear it from the words of my man Philip DeFranco you can watch his take from here in this video: (Skip to the 7 min mark, not sure why my link didn’t work correctly)

It is pretty ridiculous to think that they got away with this crap for so long. It really makes your blood boil. I am personally please that the justice system has intervened and that this injustice was brought to light.

I’d like to end the post today by asking you the community, do you think they got off too easy? Do you think this is the end of the story? Let me know down below!

Welcome Home Tour!

Hey Everyone!

Today is the day. My wife and I will be heading back to Ohio for the Zac Brown Band concert tonight. For those of you who are new here, my wife entered a Facebook contest and won two tickets to one of the shows. We took a trip Monday to grab them and tonight is the night!

I have a company physical at 3pm this afternoon. From there I will be picking up my little buddy and bringing him home. With any luck my mom will be there so we can leave. We will be cutting it close when we finally get there.

We are both pretty excited. She is excited that she won something, and that it is something she has always wanted. I’m just excited that I have something to do, and good music to listen to.

I’ll report back Monday with a concert/weekend post. Depending on the content I may make two posts. Who knows haha.

I’ll see you all then, enjoy your weekend! 😀 😀

Catching Up!

Hey Everyone!

Another long day at work yesterday. Working through break and straight up until the bell. I’ll hopefully get this one out early before the ‘storm’ hits again today haha. Saturday, long time ago I know, my wife and I took a day for ourselves. It was much needed and a good way to relax. We left town and spent the day together. I mean we brought the kid too but hes ok 😀

We were able to go out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse, which was delicious! We kept the day going by going to Hobby Lobby, which is a black hole. They have the best home decor stuff and we tend to spend hundreds of dollars every time we go haha. We bought vases, picture frames, and a nice lamp for our end table. Further down the road we hit up the local Barnes and Noble, where my wife picked up a first year pregnancy book and I got a few more Funko Pop Vynls. To round out the day we stopped at Babies ‘R Us and picked up a few things, most importantly a baby carrier. You know like the strap you to my chest kind. 😀

Sunday I had two softball games. We won the first one and lost the second. It was annoying a little bit, because we were down a guy and still almost won, so I can’t help but think if we had another guy we would have won easily. Oh well, its just a game for fun right?

Lets see, my wife bought photos for the frames we bought and they came in last night. I had the ‘privilege’ to hang them all up last night haha. Here are a couple different angles of the frames and photos we bought. 😀 😀

Oooh and you can see the lamp we picked up in the last photo! 😀 Woo!

Today I have a meeting with our UPS rep, and will be swapping out some PCs today. It is looking like another busy day. It is also pouring down rain here today, I’m pretty sure it rained all night as well. I’m really hoping we don’t get any flooding in the basement today. Fingers crossed! I hope you enjoy your Hump Day! To wrap it up here is my dinosaur!

Weekend O’Clock!

Hey Everyone!

This has been a short work week full of surprises. To top it off I will be on my own for the next three weeks at work. My co-worker won’t be back after today until July 28th! He is going with his daughter to Rome and what not with their church. That means it’s my time to shine and earn my keep. I have a list of about five big things I need to get done and anything else that comes my way must get tackled. Wish me luck! 😀

Last night was able to set up my son’s 529 account. It is exciting and scary at the same time! I transferred everything I have saved so far into an ‘Aggressive Growth’ plan. By the time he is 18-20 it should be about 80% bonds and 20% stocks. I mean if I’m going to do this thing I’m going big. I didn’t have any help financially from my parents, so anything is better than nothing, so I’ll shoot for the stars! I love that they have a Ugift, i think, thing where you can tell family and friends about it and they can donate right to it for birthdays and what not. I’ll be using that as much as I can. I have the paperwork going through today for the direct deposit from my pay check so that way I can’t screw it up haha. Fingers crossed we can get a good haul for him!

Lets see… This weekend my wife and I are going to go get out of town for a bit and do some shopping, window I hope. 😉 It will be nice to keep getting out of the house regularly so she doesn’t get cabin fever and what not. It will be nice to do something just for us finally. Sunday I have a double header in softball and that should be about it. With any luck I’ll be motivated to cut the grass again lol.

That’s all from me today! If I watch any good movies I’ll try getting a review out soon. It seems like a long time since the last one! I haven’t ran into many stories that I care about in the news to set those up either. We will see! thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great weekend! 😀 😀

P.S. Here is a picture of my cute son:

Busy Work Day & 1 Month Old Baby!

Hey Everyone!

I have a short amount of time to post and I am late already. I have been swamped with work today and that is a good thing! I cam in at my normal time, and started setting up the new PCs I got in the mail a day or so ago. While doing that and running updates I got pulled away to help rearrange someones office. They need me there to make sure that everything gets unplugged correctly and plugged back in the right way. I was helping a fellow co-worker through my lunch break, with a parts list for a PC build for his kid. He has a son that has saved up enough money to buy his own gaming PC. He wants to surprise him and throw in a couple hundred dollars more, as a good gesture and reward, for managing his money so well. His son built a complete parts list and he gave it to me to look over and change since he added more money to the budget. I can say that I have spec-ed out a pretty good full size gaming rig for the budget of $1200. His kid will love it! Later this afternoon I have spent my time helping one of our summer design engineer inters with his issues. He is having problems with his Auto CAD and Inventor programs crashing. It has happened a few days in a row and twice today, so it was time to do something about it. I researched a few things and think I found a solution to his problem. I reverted his PC to use Direct X 9 instead of 11, deleted the junk out of his temp folder, updated is graphics driver while disabling the on board Intel one, and changed a series of variables within the programs themselves for better performance. I know this all sounds like gibberish to you guys but it was a fun day filled with technical issues that really got my brain moving!

In other news I am feeling much better, even though I never got any answers from the doctors I spoke with. I won’t be feeling good when my $150 bill from the ER comes through though :/ the weather here is crappy, and I can’t really do anything so I, will continue to take it easy. I mowed my grass yesterday when it was still nice out so that is a plus!

My baby boy Everett is officially 1 month old today! Dear god, they aren’t kidding when they say it fly’s by! I can’t imagine what I’ll think when he turns 18 and leaves haha. He is working on the sleep thing, and has been working out those neck muscles. We are still camped out in the living room because it is easier for my wife in the middle of the night.  That and my dog peed all over our mattress and ruined it! We aren’t very fond of her at this moment haha.

That’s all for me, I’m sorry this is jumbled and ran together. Please forgive me! I’ll be back tomorrow, and I hope to see you all then. 😀 😀

Gearing Up For The Baby!

Hey Everyone!

Today has been baby centered, fully. All for good reasons , no need for alarm.

This morning, my work held a small baby shower for my wife and I. It is pretty awesome that they do that sort of thing. It was during break and usually gets extended because everyone is still there. My wife came in to work just before break. The work bell rings and we all met up in the kitchen/dining area of my work. They had bought a full, big cake for everyone to enjoy. It had little booties and rattles on it. They asked a couple weeks ago what her favorite type of cake was and that was what they ordered. She picked lemon in case you were wondering.

They took a few pictures for our Human Resources department, and then presented us with a gift basket. I was full of goodies! We got things like lotion, oil, cream, bids, towels, and diapers. All great things to have more of. They told us that they had a few other things for us too but that they hadn’t come in yet. The girl in charge was mad at FedEx for not getting the items here in time and gave them a piece of her mind, behind closed doors of course haha. She is a girl who has just had two babies of her own so she knew what to get. We also gave them a copy of our most current registry. She is going to just bring the rest in to work when it gets here. That is totally fine with us. The thought really does count in this scenario. Most companies don’t go above and beyond for their employees, like this one does.

We are going to send the company a nice card thanking them again for putting it all on and for the gifts.

After that shower, my wife had a routine doctors appointment for the baby. She is at the point where she is now required to go every week until the baby is born. That means it is getting close! It is getting down to the wire and exciting. Her blood pressure is up, for her, but not for people in general so it was nothing to worry about. The babies heart rate was in the good range and everything is looking good. Just a little more waiting left to do then it’s time to rock and roll!

This takes me right up to lunch!

That’s all I have on this front for today! I hope you are enjoying the updates, and baby news, as much as I am. I hope to see you all back again Monday! 😀 😀
