Around The Water Cooler!

Hey Everyone!

Its Friday! Thank goodness, I’m ready for the weekend. I never got around to cutting the grass last night, so I’ll have to do that tonight.

Another thing I’m going to to tonight is go hit a bucket of golf balls with my co-worker. He wanted to anyway and since I’m play tomorrow as well he invited me along. I can use all of the help I can get.  😀

Everett is obsessed with putting things away, and in containers lately. It is really kind of helpful and funny at the same time. For instance, he will walk over and put his dirty diaper in the correct trash bin, all we have to do is open and close it. He will also hold and put the dog food scooper back in the food bin when I am done feeding the dog. On the other hand he stacks his food on his sippy cups, and puts his shoes in the cabinets.

1

So either way its awesome! He cracks us up every single day.

He has just, in the last couple of days started to spin. You know how most babies will kind of waddle around in a large circle to turn around or just fall down and twist around? He was doing that too, but has now found enough balance to spin right around. He does it constantly and gets dizzy half the time. It makes him laugh to turn that fast.

Today I got a text from my wife about Everett being Everett. He is all over and into everything. Today she caught him crawling up and standing on his train.

2

For what reason? I have no idea, probably just to see if he could. He is at the stage where he will be climbing on everything and getting up the stairs and everything. He is more mobile everyday. We have a second room in our attic that we want to turn into a library of sorts, and my wife had the idea to turn it into a play area for him. While she is working in the other room he can be in there playing with free reign to go between the two rooms. All we need it to clean that room up a bit and get a gate for the top of the stairs and we would be in business. I really wish I had the money now to get a contractor in there and build those book shelves. Oh well, some day I hope. 😀

That is it for me today! I’ll be golfing tomorrow, and being lazy Sunday! I hope you have a great weekend, and I’ll see you all again Monday! 😀 😀

Birthday Girl! (&Some Work Stuff)

Hey Everyone!

It was one of those days again, yesterday. It was a fairly calm day until just before lunch.

My co-worker called me up and needed me to bring him a tool. He was in our other shop location, and was sick of driving back and forth. He offered to buy me lunch, so of course I was in! 😀 That is why I wasn’t able to post yesterday. I was helping him gt the WiFi up and running at our other location. It took about an hour, then we stopped off and grabbed a sub from the local gas station that makes them pretty well. I picked up a weird taco sub, with Doritos, and your general taco stuff. It was really good! That busy momentum from before carried all the way through the afternoon.

If we go back a bit further, it was my wife’s birthday yesterday! I got up ad made her a breakfast sandwich, with some strawberries, and an iced coffee. I was able to fix Everett some breakfast too, taking some of the load off of her. She and Everett have been getting up later since she starts work later now, so she has been getting stuck making her own breakfast most days.

I ordered her a camera bag that she has wanted for some time. It was on back order for ever and still won’t ship out until the 31st but it is worth the wait. I let her know she had that coming and now she is super excited and can’t wait to receive it.

If you would like to take a look around that small shop click the link: Here!

After work let out, and my wife finished up working as well we got ready to go out for dinner. I let her pick where she wanted to go and she decided on the local Taco Hut! They have some of the best ‘south of the border’ food around us. My wife got some Fajitas, I got the steak tacos, and we split a nacho buffet! 😀

31.jpg

Everett picked off of our plates. He really seemed to like the beans more than anything, but also had rice and chips as you can see from his chin haha. 😀 😀 That rounded out our day and we just spent the night watching New Girl re-runs and lounging.

Today, so far is a terrible day for the terminals in our shop. I came in to three of them not working correctly and have only been able to get 1 back online. I took a break from them to write this because they are driving me nuts.

These are the two models that have been failing hard lately. They are both about 20+ years old and need to be thrown out, but until we upgrade the whole thing they need to work. If you don’t already know 20 year old technology is not something you want incorporated in your modern business haha. 😀

that is all for me today! I hope you have a great hum day and I’ll be back again tomorrow! (as long as nothing drags me away again) 😀 😀

Monday Photo Dump!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the start of the week! We did quite a bit this weekend. Friday we went to Pizza Hut with my parents for dinner and Everett was being a normal goofball.

321

Saturday morning we headed back to the cabin. We are hoping to have the beds in before the start of the hunting season. We added stairs to the front and added boards to the ceiling. Some of the wall pieces are missing, because they are all pieces we have to cut to a custom size.

05

This area will be the bed room, with bunks on the right and left.

This next one is looking from the kitchen area to the bedroom. We have that half wall up to divide the room.

4.jpg

While I was at camp my wife’s two friends came into town. One of them has a little three month old. We got ready and went to the county fair for a few hours.

Next is a must have golf cart. Just sayin. 😀

181920

Towards the end we lowered Everett’s stroller and he passed right out!

21

Sunday we went out to visit my wife’s dad. He has been in a nursing home for a little bit now. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a while ago and can no longer live on his own. It is pretty sad because he isn’t very old. He remembers us and Everett and loves holding him.

22

We were able to meet with his wife and their kid Remi and take him to the courtyard. The kids ran around like crazy.

232425

The lady in the wheelchair is Lois. She has sort of been watching over my wife’s dad while people aren’t around. She came out with us and loved seeing the boys.

26

Everett and Uncle Remi are playing here with some cars on the little bench.

27

Later to round out the day and make the most out of it we met with her grandparents and brother’s family for lunch. It was at a very nice golf course in the area. They have great food and service.

28

If you have your volume on you can hear Everett slurp up his noodles haha. if you look close you can even see his top teeth! 😀 😀

Once we got home, we got in our comfy clothes and watched some New Girl. Everett has been looking though his legs so my wife was doing it too and he was laughing hysterically.

29

That was our weekend! We did a lot and it was, like always, worth it. I hope you had a great weekend too! I’ll see you all again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Family Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We took most of the weekend for ourselves and did what we wanted to do. We started it off Saturday morning by going out to the dam.

12

That picture is from an overlook way above looking at the back side of the dam.We later went on some trails with Everett.

3

We let him get out and stumble around a bit while I climbed up some of the bigger rocks in the area.

4

After the hiking part, we stopped at the beach part of the dam where a Tango race was going on. I didn’t get any pictures there unfortunately. It is a time trial race involving teams competing in swimming, running, biking, kayaking, and orienteering. Our company always has a team in and I really didn’t know it was going on this weekend. It was fun to sit by the beach and watch people getting in and out of the water.

Later that day I needed to scrub out the inflatable pool we bought and move it to a better location. In do so I had the hose on and guess who wanted to play with it? You guessed it Everett.

5

Sunday we started slow and picked it up a bit. We stayed home most of the day. Everett finally reached the top of the couch in his climbing adventures.

6

Once we did get up and moving, I shoveled out all of the lava rocks, that were there for landscaping out grill area. I took two truck loads of rocks, weeds , boxes, and junk over to my parents house. They can use the pavers and things that I brought over. The lava rocks can be used around their fire pit and the weeds I dumped over the bank.

I was antsy to do more but didn’t have the right stuff to do anything, so we went to visit my parents when they returned home from a reunion they went to. It was nice to sit with them and let them see Everett.

We came home for the final time, and watched a movie before heading to bed. it turned out o be a busy weekend, but busy the way we wanted, so that’s ok with us.

That is all from me today. I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Around The Water Cooler!

Hey Everyone!

Since I haven’t been taking in any cafinated drinks it didn’t seem fair to post a ‘Coffee Talk’ morning segment. That being said i do now go fill up my water bottle and get to typing! So welcome to the first ever ‘Around The Water Cooler!’ piece. Where I will detail some morning thoughts and cover the happenings of the prior day.

This morning I’m feeling overwhelmed, but at the same time I’m ok with it. I have to call the bank about some real estate taxes and what not, as well as talk to them about mortgage insurance. While I’m not looking forward to that I don’t think it will be a big deal. I also have to learn some more coverage of the operations end of things at work before, well, next week haha. I have to call the pediatrician about Everett’s iron supplement, and look in to how to fix the GC machine at the gas plant that I’m doing on the side. So, sort of a busy Friday. I’d also like to get the grass cut in the yard if at all possible.

On to what we dealt with last night! I wanted to move all of the weeds we pulled from our yard and dump them over the bank behind my parent’s house, then I needed to drop off my car to get fixed up, followed by running to the store for some stuff.

I got home and took our a frozen pizza for dinner since I knew we were going to be a bit busy. The pizza finished and I went to move it form the oven to the counter. The moment I was in that transition Everett decided it was a good idea to run over to the stove door that was down and slam his hands on it! You know where it goes from here. It was a 400 degree oven that he slammed his hands on. Unlike some babies he did take his hands off very quickly and started balling, as most people would probably do. I quickly, but calmly, grabbed him and ran his hands under some cool water. My wife finished up her work day and came down to help me out. We called the doctor and they told us a couple things, we basically already knew. We applied Aloe to his hands from one of our many Aloe plants. It helped him immediately.  While that was going on I gathered those weeds and got rid of them so we could head out the door and get the other stuff done. Once I dropped off the car and made it to the store we picked up a gauze kit to wrap his more burnt hand over night. We have pictures, nothing gross though, so no advisory needed.

12

He has a couple fairly large (for his size) blisters on the palm of his hand, so we put more Aloe on before bed and wrapped him up.

This morning he was back at it getting into everything.

3

Then, since this is how it always happens,  I get this picture sent to me this morning.

4

Everett just got a fresh wrap job and dunked his hand in my wife’s coffee first thing this morning! DOH!

That was my night and while it had some low points we got everything sorted as needed, and we all made it though!

I hope you have a great Friday and weekend! I’ll see you again Monday! 😀 😀

Great Surprise & Happy Birthday To Me!

Hey Everyone!

I was sitting at work Friday trying to figure out if I wanted to even try to cut the grass in the heat after work. When out of no where I receive a text from my brother. About four weeks early, my new niece Bridget Jo was coming into this world! We all now assume that the due date was a bit off as she is of a normal height and weight. She was 6lb 13.3oz and was 18.5in long. She was born at 2pm on the dot, Friday the 13th! My plans to cut the grass took a back seat, to visiting them in the hospital.

54132

Everything went well from what we know and we look forward to watching her grow, like her sister!

I must admit I have more pictures for this post, from this weekend. Do you think for a second that I could transfer them from my phone to my PC when I needed them? NOPE, me either! haha If they come though I’ll post them. As I was typing this those first set of pictures came through, but none of the other ones. Darn computers! 😀

So as you can tel our Friday was exciting! Saturday was busy. We headed out to a local park near my wife’s family, for her family reunion. Her uncles were back in town and we wanted to see everyone. Everett had a great time on the playground. Afterwards we stopped in to see her dad, and his family. We don’t make it out to see them as long as we want to so I think we are trying to plan a weekend just for them in the near future. Once that was said and done, we headed to yet another party. My cousins co-ed bridal shower. It was also at a nice park, with games and volleyball. They had a silent little aution that was put together by the wedding party, as well as a somewhat catered bbq for dinner. It was pretty freakin delicious! 😀

Sunday, my brother and I woke up and had a double header in our slow pitch softball league. If you can remember back a bit, I have been telling them that I’m the reason we have been winning, since the only two weekends we have lost were the two I missed being in Colorado. I’m glad to say that I will be saying that heading into the end of season tournament in two weeks, because we won them both again. This year out of 17 teams we are 4th with a record of 12 and 4 I believe. We were 2 in 4 after the 3rd week, but have won the last 5 weekends in a row! We will be seeded in the ‘A’ league for the tournament and hope to do as well as we can. If it stays as hot as its been I’m ok with only playing a few games haha. After our games we stopped at my brother’s house to have a nice family lunch for my birthday.

That brings us to today, by actual birthday! Woo and Nooo, all at once. I am the big 30 this year. It is bitter sweet. I think this is about the age where as a younger boy I thought that was the age of old people haha. Something about it makes it a bit sad. The rest of me is fine with it. I know I have a somewhat older than myself audience, and by no means am I trying to say that I am ‘old’, but I think this is a milestone year for most where they feel a little more divided from the younger generations. Just a day ago I could play ball with a 19 year old and it seemed pretty normal, all of a sudden its a teen and a 30 year old man haha. I’m not really too bothered by it. 😀 My wife and son will go have a nice dinner tonight to celebrate. I didn’t really want a party of any kind so we are keeping it quiet tonight. Just the fact that our family is growing and I got to see everyone is A OK with me! 😀

P.S. Totally unrelated, I put in the last damn piece to that crazy UPS project this morning. I have had to wait and wait and wait to do this thing and I did it! Everything is looking good and I’m going to wash my hands of it all haha.

That is all for me today! I hope you have a great day today, because it is my birthday! 😀 I’ll be back again tomorrow, and I hope to see you all then! 😀 😀

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

We have had a bit of a roller coaster the past couple days.

Everett has had a fever since we got home from vacation. He woke up Wednesday night out of a dead sleep and threw up in his crib. He did that twice and continued to do it all morning. I chose to stay home with him yesterday and take him to the pediatrician. They didn’t find anything, which is good because it isn’t anything terrible. They think it is just something viral and should go away soon. He is home again today with my mom, and he did much better last night, so we hope he is coming out of it all.

In more happy news he just randomly started clapping the other day.

He is a smart boy! He is learning everyday, and we want to keep that up. I am back at work today getting caught up on all the things I missed. If you remember the UPS upgrade I was working on, I am deploying those PCs today, with any luck. The hard part will be decommissioning the old one and moving the database to the new PCs the right way. Fingers crossed! haha.

Do you all have anything fun planned for this weekend?

Thank you for hanging in there with me while my life gets sorted haha. 😀 I hope you all have a great weekend, with great weather. I’ll be back Monday, I hope to see you then. 😀 😀

Panic Attack!

Hey Everyone!

We are nearing our trip and this morning I had a bit of a panic attack. I woke up around 5am and felt very anxious and nervous for next to no real reason. So for about an hour I was up alone trying to take my mind off of it all, all while still trying to figure out what would make me feel a bit better.

I was on medication during part of my high school career for anxiety and visited a great psychiatrist at least once a week. Of course being in high school and having any thing out of the ordinary is something you kind of try to hide, for fear of joke being made at your expense, and people looking at you differently. I was no exception! Most people didn’t know about it at all and I didn’t really ever tell any one. It wasn’t until I personally stopped taking my medicine and decided to use the techniques I had learned with the psychiatrist that I started not caring who found out. Of course, I was nearing a college age and could re-invent myself easily.

I have been off medication for over 12 years now and I have managed things pretty ok. I still have bouts like I did this morning that basically cripple me unless I can get out of that funk. I talk myself through things over and over and do the standard deep breathing and that tends to help quite a bit. I also love having a phone now (Which wasn’t a thing in highschool) that I can use to take my mind off of thoughts that keep trying to drag me back in. I tend to feel myself get a bit sweaty in the palms and hot, as well as terrible stomach cramps, that pretty much lock me in a bathroom. So it is pretty not great. It gets so bad sometimes that I get nervous about a place not having a bathroom, that in turn then makes me need one, and that cycle repeats itself until I can snap out of it. :/

Going on trips like the one we are taking are normally ok. My big fear in life is machines that I am not in control of. This is what trips me up quite a bit, and is the reason I hate planes, riding in cars, and elevators. It has evolved since I have gotten older to a control issue in general. I used to be able to just bug out somewhere with no plan and be 100% ok with dealing with what comes at me. Not so much anymore. It may have something to do with having a wife and a kid now too. I feel as if maybe I would be ok alone, but now I have other lives with me. Everything for me is now mostly planned out. This trip has been a bit of an exception.

I ended up having to book a hotel, because last minute my wife’s Uncle got some weird stand off-ish cold feet vibes. He has since offered to let us stay again…but with us leaving in two days we already had a hotel. :/ We will have to stop once on the way there and on the way back, and up until today I didn’t know where we would try to stay. I have since made a reservation haha. this all just stems from my breakdown this morning. I have the route printed out, even though we have it on our phones. All just little things to bring some more control to the trip. There will be plenty of unknowns when it comes to driving 1500 miles with a one year old baby haha.

As of right now, my lunch break, I’m feeling much better. I will have a great time and so with my little family. I know once we get on the road and feel like we have everything ready to go that it won’t be a problem at all. It is just the build up to the whole things that gets me. I let the stress of that, getting paid part way through the week, and having bills due while on vacation get to me a little bit too much. I’ll be bringing my laptop with me to cover all of those things anyway so it shouldn’t bother me too much.

I will ride out the little bit of this week that is left and be on the road in no time! That being said I will be off from the blog this whole next week, but may still have some pictures up on my Instagram, so feel free to check in on that if you would like to. I should be back again Monday the 4th, unless we get home crazy late.

That is it for me today! I will be back for a quick ‘Coffee Talk’ tomorrow morning and that will be that! I hope to see you then. 😀 😀

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Hey Everyone!

Today is the day. My boy is one year old today! It has all happened so fast in our minds, when in reality it was a whole year haha. He has grown so much from the moment we first saw him!

20170522_172854

He was the cutest little baby we have ever seen, partially because he was our own. But lets be honest, he’s a cutie!

20170523_130016

He was small, but a healthy small. Everything about him did and still does light up our lives in a big way. We cannot imagine life without him. 😀

Cale (1 of 6)

It is hard to believe that he was created by the two of us. We often just stare at him in amazement and wonder. The fact that we have the ability to create human life is something that can’t be fully understood until, you yourself create it.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

There is no other feeling like it in the world. I’ve grown up knowing how and why people have children and that someday I too would want children of my own. There was never any real meaning or feeling behind those thoughts and words. I thought it was just something people did, because they were supposed to. It wasn’t until our baby boy was brought into this world that we started to realize the true impact he would have on our lives. I have never felt a bond or a closeness so strong before in my entire life!

To my son: Today at 5:20pm Everett Hugh you will be one year old exactly. Your mother and I love you very much and can’t wait to see all of the great things you do. We want to watch you grow, and learn all there is to learn, and see all there is to see. I’m sure we will be proud of the person you become. I’m sure there will be hard times, and things that we won’t see eye to eye on, but I hope you always know that we love you. We are not perfect, and for that I hope you can forgive us, but remember that we are only trying to do our best, to do what is best for you. We hope to raise you in a way that you can stand on your own two feet and take on the world armed with all of the tools you need to have a full and happy life.  We love you more than anything! ❤ ❤

My wife had an impromptu photo shoot with Everett a few days ago. I mentioned it in an earlier post I’m sure. So what better time to share them with all of you then on his first birthday! 😀 Please enjoy these amazing photos!

Here is a link to my original post introducing Everett into this world: Here

I hope you all have enjoyed this little post. I am thankful everyday that you all stop by to see what is going on in our lives. 😀 I’ll be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then. 😀 😀

One Day Surgery!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for not posting yesterday. I came into work and realized that the sinus pressure building in my head was stopping me from doing anything at work. I left work at around 10am and took myself to the walk in clinic. They got me hooked up with an antibiotic and,  honestly I fee much better even after three doses.

Last night was a little tough, because we knew in the morning that Everett was getting tubes in his ears. If anyone doesn’t know what they are or what they do I’ll tell ya! They are literal tubes that are inserted in the ear drum to allow fluid to drain properly, and not build up and cause infections. For babies like Everett, must be put to sleep for a few minutes since they move a lot and don’t listen, so that is the freaky part. So my wife and I had a restless night thinking about things that could go wrong.

This morning we got up around 5:50am and had to get him there by 6:30am. So it was an early start. They checked him over and then had us get him ready in his little gown. He was tired and not sure what was going on.

12

After a little while they gave him the pre-op medicine that made him loopy, which was kind of funny after it kicked in. You can tell he was getting goofy.

34

His head was getting heavy and he was getting sleepy again. The doctors and anesthesiologist came out ad talked us through everything.

56

Here is a short video of Everett just feeling the loopy juice.

They took him back, which was hard for us, because we didn’t have control over what was going to happen for the next 10 minutes. We sat in the waiting room and tried to stay as calm as we could. When they were done we were called in to talk with the doctor and go over how everything went. He let us know everything went perfectly and that we could go see him in post-op. He was still coming out of the anesthesia, so he was floaty and not sure what to think. So he was crying and not happy. We were able to feed him before we left, since he hadn’t eaten in 12 hours.

7

By the time we got him in the car he was asleep. I hope when we comes out of his nap that he is feeling a ton better.

8

I am clearly back at work and trying to play catch up from the last two days.

That is it for me today! I hope you are having a great Wednesday, and I’ll see you all back tomorrow! 😀 😀
