Hey Everyone!

Today has not been a great work day for me. Yesterday I restored a file for one of our Engineers, and today I was informed that we didn’t go back far enough. So I was tasked with going back a bit further. Seems simple right? Do what I did yesterday with an older back up. Well, I’ve tried that. Three times. Right now it is running a process that should only take about 6 minutes, and has been going now for over an hour….

My co-worker who normally does this stuff is off in Florida for the week. I am hesitant to do anything else, because I don’t know enough about the back up settings and don’t wanna screw anything up.

To make matters worse I just had another guy call me about a file he ‘lost’ and needed back. The kicker is that he doesn’t even know where it was saved. So talk about a wild goose chase. I’ll be 100% lucky to find that with the information I was given, then restoring it, which you now know hasn’t been going my way today. :/

In other news I have dropped Caffeine from my diet. It started, fully, Saturday. Sunday and Monday I had a decent headache, on top of my terrible back pain. Today I’m doing much better. My headache is gone, and I’m hoping to have less anxiety. So far things seem good. I’m not sure If we can have ‘Coffee Talk’ anymore though. It would just be a lie now haha. We will see.

Anyway, back to work for me. I have to try and sort some of this stuff out. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Another Busy Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We made it through the weekend. Friday We took some time out to weed the major part of our backyard garden. I’m not entirely sure what the purpose is since by the time any of it gets done it might be winter haha.

During that process Everett picked up his mommy’s phone.

He is such a dang cutie! He has been picking up on things so quickly. He is learning a ton. He has been organizing things, in his own way. He will take and place items in and on other items. We also have a verified 5 teeth! We haven’t been able to have him show us long enough for a picture, but I promise they are there haha.

Saturday was a huge softball day. In total our co-ed team played six games and took second place. I was their pitcher for each game. As a team we sustained two injuries to a couple of our girls. We had to pick up two different girls along the way, because you need four to play.  My groin injury I sustained during the regular season flared up part way through, so that didn’t feel good. Today my back and everything is not doing well, so I’m taking it easy here at work.

Sunday we headed out to visit my wife’s father again. He was placed in a nursing home during the week. He needs to be placed somewhere that can handle his dementia, and not just another nursing home. But either way he is at least in a safe space. Afterwards we went to a local bar in our college town and had lunch with her mom, before heading home.

On another note season 6 of Orange is the New Black is out on Netflix. I am halfway through and it is decent. It is, so far, at a bit of a slower pace but you can tell the build up is for something good. If you watch it, it is time to get at it!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and I hope to see you back again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

It is 7:42am I came into the office to a stack of boxes outside my door. Some one on the off shift must have found some of my stuff laying around there and brought it up haha. It isn’t super fun to walk into all that but at least I have most of my stuff. Recently I have been getting half orders and a ton of things are on back order…super frustrating. Oh well!

Anyway it’s early, I’m sipping my coffee, and catching up on some things. I would like to know what some of your morning routines include. Do you have a set routine, or does it kinda just change a bunch? Do you like your routine, or would you want to change it? I have had a change in mine recently since my wife has started working from home. I’m not sure that I enjoy this new one. I used to get up and know that they were getting up after me. I could get up, shower, get dressed, feed the animals, make breakfast for everyone, and enjoy the news. Now, I wake up shower, get dressed, feed the animals and sit there quietly. By the time they both get up it is very close to the time I leave for work. I like seeing them before work and being ready early enough to hang out and not be super rushed. I don’t know. I guess its OK, it is just a bit different.

In other news I have another softball tournament tomorrow. It is for our local Humane Society. All the money made from entry fees goes to that place. They are the local animal shelter, so it is not a bad thing to get roped into haha. I’ll let you all know how it goes. 😉

I hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll see you on Monday! 😀 😀

Middle Ground!

Hey Everyone!

I want to take this time to spotlight something I have been hooked on lately. As most of you know I watch a lot of YouTube. I have seen the Jubilee channel before and have watched some of their videos, and to be honest wasn’t that impressed. I have now found their series called Middle Ground. Look this up if you want to see some real talk, on many topics. They take two sets of people, put them in a small group. They have questions asked one at a time and chose to agree or disagree to each. They each have time to speak and converse about the topic. It is a small enough group that nothing gets out of control. It really is a great series, if you are curious at all please check it out. Here are some of the ones I have seen and enjoy.

(There is minimal arguing, and more coming together than you would think.)

There are plenty of topics discussed and it is fun to see both sides of any one particular issue.

I hope you enjoy this post and check these out! 😀 😀

Short and Sweet!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I wasn’t able to post yesterday, I ran into an issue at work right around lunch. I had a terminal that was acting funky, and needed the assistance of a guy in the shop that could run a scissor lift. He just so happened to be ready as I would post so it just didn’t work out well.

Today has been slow. I am very ok with that. It was raining all night last night, so I was able to stay in and work on my leaky basement toilet. I thought I had it all fixed up, but it appears to, possibly, still be leaking around the base. I changed out the whole fixture except the flange. If you know someone or are someone that has experience with that sort of thing, hit me up about a possible fix! 😉

I don’t have much else to comment on since I wasn’t doing much else lol. I’m going to leave this one short today, in hopes that I have something more for you tomorrow!

I’ll see you then! 😀 😀

Monday Funday!

Hey Everyone!

We had a pretty good weekend, I hope you did as well.

Friday our little family went to dinner at Red Lobster. It was nice to go out to eat for once and spend some time out and about.

Saturday I had that softball tournament. Our first game was at 9am. We didn’t do as well as we had hoped but still managed to be 4th in the league and get 3 games in the tournament. Now follow me here, We beat this team by the ten run rule, we then played the best team and lost by one. The third game knocked us out, via a team we have beaten before. The weird thing is that the team we beat by ten went on to knock out the best team and take second place in the whole tournament! We were stunned! We easily beat them by ten, how in the world did they beat those other teams? I understand it happens and I’m glad for them playing that hard, but it is just weird lol 😀

My wife was able to attend the first and most of the second game, until she had to go get ready to shoot a wedding. Everett and my mom stayed at the fields.

Saturday while my wife was away, and after the tourny, Everett and I went to my parent’s house. They were cleaning out their garage attic, and wanted some help getting things out. Everett found my first grade Halloween costume (Red Power Ranger), and spent some time smacking my mom’s dog lol 😀 He is still learning how to be nice.

Sunday we visit with my wife’s father. He was sent to the hospital, to get checked out. He has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, I believe, and was having some weird things happening. They found him to be dehydrated mostly. We saw him there for a couple hours.

Afterwards we hit up the Olive Garden, and Barnes and Noble. It was a dreary, overcast day with some rain sprinkled in. When we got home we decided it was time to just watch a movie. My wife has been wanting to re-watch the Lord of the Rings movies, so we started with the 3 hours Fellowship! 😀

Here we are Monday afternoon, I have been working hard to get these darn terminals under wraps. I have a few orders placed and am waiting their arrival. Oh, other big news. My boss is retiring this April! That is good news to me. I will be bidding on his job, more than likely won’t get it. Based on who we all think might get it, I may be able to move up and take his job. I’m hoping to be the new Network Coordinator by May. I’m not sure if it will affect the blog or not. One day I may get too busy to run this thing, who knows!

That is all for me today! I hope you are all having a great Monday, and I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I had every intention to post yesterday, I promise! You see, I ran into a bit of an issue with timing. I received a phone call early yesterday from my wife. She told me that she had trapped a mouse in our attic. The mouse was trapped under a Lego type toy bucket. Her plan was to leave it under there until I came home, 7 hours later…

I didn’t really think that was the best plan for the mouse or us. I left right when my lunch break started, and headed home. I was a nice husband and picked up an Iced Capp for my wife, and a couple of subs from Tim Horton’s. Once I got home I slid a thin cutting board under the bucket and took the mouse beyond our backyard and let it go in some brush.

We have a few traps set in the basement, and we got one the other day. I was hoping we were good, but that wasn’t the case apparently! I’ll keep the traps out for a while longer, as well as fill a couple small holes they may be trying to come in, near the foundation. Honestly I can’t find a real spot that they are coming in. The only reason, I think, it was in the attic was that the cat brought it up. I don’t really think they scaled the wall all the way up and found their way into the attic. I could be wrong but that’s my guess.

Anyway, I have realized that I have a ton of softball this next month! This weekend we have the end of season tournament for our Sunday league. Every Wednesday until the 18th we have practice for our company team. Next weekend I am pitching in a co-ed tournament. We may be entering our Sunday team into another one pitch tournament. Lastly, on the 18th we do have the huge Industrial Tournament (the one the practices are for) The ability that a couple of the teams I’m on have, may make it 4 + games each tournament. Most of which take place all in one day. For the next few weeks I’m a full blown softball man! haha 😀

I hope you have a great Friday and a great weekend! I’ll be back again Monday and hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Crypto Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are having a great Wednesday.

I am still trying to get used to not taking Everett to day care and being up really early to get him ready to leave the house. I have been waking up around 5:30-6:00am only to really get myself ready for the day. I have just been hanging out watching the news for a good 40 minutes before anyone even gets up, now that my wife is working from home.

Today I have been trying to get back into the world of, I guess, crypto trading? If you remember a while back it was something that I talked about trying. I did indeed try and so far haven’t reaped any rewards whatsoever haha. I had a ‘spare’ $200 laying around and instead of putting it into a savings account, only to be spent on something down the line, I tried to turn it into more. Well right off the bat, I was wrong on my timing. I bought when the market was rising, only to now watch it fall. I have money invested into XRP or Ripple. When I bought it was high at $3.30, it has fallen back down to around $0.50. The question is now do you invest more, which I would like to, or wait it out with what I have? I have read reports and forecasts saying that by the end of this year it could be over $10, which would currently land me a $450 profit. If I were to invest a bit more I would earn a bit more. Decisions, Decisions!

The other thing I would like to do it diversify, that portfolio. I have all of my ‘eggs’ in the same basket right now and if the bottom of that basket falls out I’ve lost my ‘eggs’. By possibly buying more types of crypto I can spread myself out and hopefully never lose it all.  This would mean having to becoming more aware of the environment in general, closely watching the daily fluctuation of prices, and knowing when to buy/sell/trade. I’m not sure I’m all there yet, but that would be a great goal to achieve. Hell it would be awesome to get so good at this then be able to leave my job. Dreamin’!

That is all I have for you today! My lunch break is over and I have to get back to work. I’ll be back again tomorrow and hope to see you then! 😀 😀

Try Again!

Hey Everyone!

Today’s post will just be a catch up, from yesterday. I was able to get the pictures uploaded today so I can share them with you now! 😀 😀

Here is my brother holding his new baby girl:

Before we left to go to the family reunion, we stopped at the hospital for a mini photo shoot. My wife will have some pictures out soon.

Once we got to the family reunion we had a nice lunch at the pavilion, with family. Here is my wife’s grandparents and mom. You can see the sides of my nephew and Everett’s faces haha.

Afterwards we hit the play ground for some fun in the sun.

When everyone was hot and sweaty we left and went to that bridal shower. There I only took one real picture and that is mostly because I forgot. Its cool though. We had all of the little kids playing volleyball and it was fun to help them.

Sunday, after our ball games, we stopped at my brother’s for my little birthday bash. Everett was sitting with me while I blew out the candles. I had to make sure that he wasn’t grabbing the fire though, he tried.

I was able to hold little Bridgett for a while while everyone was still eating. It is hard to believe that Everett was smaller than this when he was born! 😀

While I was holding her the other kiddos were playing with all of my niece’s toys.

99 (8)99 (9)

That wrapped up my day, and weekend! I hope you have a great Tuesday! I’ll be back again tomorrow, and hope to see you then. 😀 😀

Great Surprise & Happy Birthday To Me!

Hey Everyone!

I was sitting at work Friday trying to figure out if I wanted to even try to cut the grass in the heat after work. When out of no where I receive a text from my brother. About four weeks early, my new niece Bridget Jo was coming into this world! We all now assume that the due date was a bit off as she is of a normal height and weight. She was 6lb 13.3oz and was 18.5in long. She was born at 2pm on the dot, Friday the 13th! My plans to cut the grass took a back seat, to visiting them in the hospital.

Everything went well from what we know and we look forward to watching her grow, like her sister!

I must admit I have more pictures for this post, from this weekend. Do you think for a second that I could transfer them from my phone to my PC when I needed them? NOPE, me either! haha If they come though I’ll post them. As I was typing this those first set of pictures came through, but none of the other ones. Darn computers! 😀

So as you can tel our Friday was exciting! Saturday was busy. We headed out to a local park near my wife’s family, for her family reunion. Her uncles were back in town and we wanted to see everyone. Everett had a great time on the playground. Afterwards we stopped in to see her dad, and his family. We don’t make it out to see them as long as we want to so I think we are trying to plan a weekend just for them in the near future. Once that was said and done, we headed to yet another party. My cousins co-ed bridal shower. It was also at a nice park, with games and volleyball. They had a silent little aution that was put together by the wedding party, as well as a somewhat catered bbq for dinner. It was pretty freakin delicious! 😀

Sunday, my brother and I woke up and had a double header in our slow pitch softball league. If you can remember back a bit, I have been telling them that I’m the reason we have been winning, since the only two weekends we have lost were the two I missed being in Colorado. I’m glad to say that I will be saying that heading into the end of season tournament in two weeks, because we won them both again. This year out of 17 teams we are 4th with a record of 12 and 4 I believe. We were 2 in 4 after the 3rd week, but have won the last 5 weekends in a row! We will be seeded in the ‘A’ league for the tournament and hope to do as well as we can. If it stays as hot as its been I’m ok with only playing a few games haha. After our games we stopped at my brother’s house to have a nice family lunch for my birthday.

That brings us to today, by actual birthday! Woo and Nooo, all at once. I am the big 30 this year. It is bitter sweet. I think this is about the age where as a younger boy I thought that was the age of old people haha. Something about it makes it a bit sad. The rest of me is fine with it. I know I have a somewhat older than myself audience, and by no means am I trying to say that I am ‘old’, but I think this is a milestone year for most where they feel a little more divided from the younger generations. Just a day ago I could play ball with a 19 year old and it seemed pretty normal, all of a sudden its a teen and a 30 year old man haha. I’m not really too bothered by it. 😀 My wife and son will go have a nice dinner tonight to celebrate. I didn’t really want a party of any kind so we are keeping it quiet tonight. Just the fact that our family is growing and I got to see everyone is A OK with me! 😀

P.S. Totally unrelated, I put in the last damn piece to that crazy UPS project this morning. I have had to wait and wait and wait to do this thing and I did it! Everything is looking good and I’m going to wash my hands of it all haha.

That is all for me today! I hope you have a great day today, because it is my birthday! 😀 I’ll be back again tomorrow, and I hope to see you all then! 😀 😀
