Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

A little later than I thought I would be. Generally Friday’s are slow for everyone here, but that isn’t the case today! My co worker is retiring, and the other two aren’t here. I have been fielding things all morning long. I have already worked on both of our conference rooms for different reasons, fixed up a company laptop, answered some shipping emails, and worked on an email signature for one employee. I’m a fan of getting things done so I jumped on all of those and got them done.

Anyway! It’s Friday, and I’m loving it. The weather here is supposed to be hot and sunny. After work today I’m going to pick up Everett from daycare, head home, fill up the inflatable pool we bought, fill it, clean the car, then jump in the full pool! Everett has some floaties that we want to try out and those plastic kiddie pools suck, lets be honest, so I bought a bigger one. ๐Ÿ˜€

We are supposed to be in a ‘heatwave’ for the next week here with temperature soaring above 90 degrees for multiple days. To top it all off it gets humid here, so it is no fun at all. I’ll probably die playing softball this weekend. Saturday we are heading back to camp for the diaper party my brother is having. It’ll be nice to spend some time in the woods. I haven’t been able to as much as I would have liked so far, so this will be refreshing. ๐Ÿ˜€

What are your go to hot summer day activities? Do you grab some of your favorite ice cream, hope in a pool, relax indoors with some A/C? Let me know in the comments below!

Other than that I’ll leave it short and sweet today! Go enjoy the nice weekend, when you can, and remember to be safe. Wear that sunscreen and drink a ton of water! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Hey Everyone!

It’s Thursday, we are most of the way through the week that is something to cheer about. Work is slow, I am bored.

My wife is home working her first day! That is exciting, I hope she is home loving what she is doing. Everett is at daycare for the rest of this week and next, so that she can learn the ropes. Earlier today she was setting up all the software on her PC. It can only get more stable from here.

I have been playing that House Flipper game way to much in my spare time. I may be addicted lol. I have only had it this week, I believe and already over 17 hours in the game. Which isn’t a ton for me but it is when I am always busy. In my prime gaming ‘mode’, through college, I was averaging 90+ hours of gaming every two weeks. So, yes more than a full time job.

Keeping it short and sweet today, because I am super scattered today!

I’ll see you all again tomorrow morning for some ‘Coffee Talk.’ Hope to see you then! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Laid To Rest!

Hey Everyone!

We can start with sad news first, so that hopefully we can end on a better note. In short my parents had to put down one of their dogs today. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ His name was Dakota and he was a bit of a mutt. He was ten years old and we had him since he was a wee little baby. He and his brothers and sisters were left at my dad’s friends house. One night my dad and brother, I believe, went up there and came home with a puppy. I had already been off to college at that point but he quickly became a part of all of our lives. He was a weird dog, that isn’t an understatement. He was weird about only eating his food when my mom was around. He was weird in that he would never look you in the eye. At times he seemed a bit unstable, but in a house with four other pets, I can understand. He was happy, and loved going down to the creek, and out to our camp. He was excited to hop in the car and ride then laid down exhausted on the ride home. That’s how you know it was a good day. He was a good boy, and will be missed terribly.

What happened was, he quit eating. It was out of nowhere and weird, much like him, so my parents tried different food. they tried hard foods, and soft foods, and even people food. He wouldn’t even drink his water at times. :/ His condition seemed to stay the same, and they wanted some answers. I believe they took him to the vet on Monday. After running some tests, and taking some x-rays they determined that he had a tumor and that it was leaking blood into his abdomen. Wanting to know more they drove a ways and saw a more tech savvy vet. There were able to determine what we all feared most. He had a cancerous tumor on his liver and spleen, that was indeed leaking into his abdomen. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Since he was losing that blood he became anemic, and since it is on his liver it is inoperable. There were told even if it was operable that it would cost around $6000 to do the surgery. This morning he was put down, and will be buried in the back yard of my parent’s house, probably beside our other two dogs.

Well now that I want to cry…Lets add a bit of humor to cheer things up! I heard today on the news that a squirrel in Alaska stole a cops donut lol. XD

My wife is still away today doing training for her new job. She will be home later this evening. She is very stressed and nervous about the change, since its a ‘no going back’ situation. We will be pulling Everett from daycare, and she is taking a pay cut to be home. If it doesn’t work out we are in some serious trouble. That is weighing on her pretty heavy today. I have the most amount of faith in her and her ability to grow and learn this new job, even if she doesn’t. I see what shes does every day, in and out, and there isn’t anything that she can’t handle! I hope she finds the path that she needs to and gets in the right mindset sooner than later, so she can thrive. I know she will do great work! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

That is all for me today. I hope you have a great Wednesday and I’ll see you all back here again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Distracted Tuesday!

Hey Everyone!

I have been a bit distracted today. My boss is off with an illness and I need his input on a project. I am kind of dead in the water here, just a bit. I have done a few things here and there, little fires, but nothing crazy. I also have a few things I need to order, but they have to go through my boss, so why bother until he is back lol. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m catching up on some World Cup news, while I wait. I’m still determined to root for Iceland until they are out haha. The ultimate underdog! I love sports that are overseas, because they are on at a reasonable time for me on the east coast. I hate when I try to watch a ball game, of other kinds, because they are most always further west and on super late for me. So I like this! ๐Ÿ˜€

Lets see. What is coming up for me. Oh, my brother is having a diaper party for my new niece arriving in August! We will also have some more softball this weekend. the next few weekends will be packed. We have a wedding, a birthday party, bridal shower, and a family reunion all packed in. It’ll be a bit hectic. I’ll try to have some pictures.

In some cool gaming news. I bought Conan Exiles a while back. It is a great game to play at your own pace and at your own difficulty. You are in well Conan the Barbarian times and level up and survive, all while completing quests and what not. Disclaimer there is anatomically correct bodies if you do have a child that wants to play it.ย  There is full nudity, if you don’t turn that off. There are ‘safe’ servers but you have to find them.I have been having a great time with the game. Here is a link to the Conan website!

I also bought House Flipper on Steam for $15.99. It is a part of the Steam summer sale, until the 5th of July I believe. Even my wife seemed to kind of like this one! ๐Ÿ˜€ If you have ever dreamt of being Chip and Joanna Gaines this is the game for you. You start small doing odd jobs for people while fixing up their places and your own. Then you can buy a house, flip it with your budget and sell it for profit. It is highly addicting and fun. At $15.99 it really is a steal.ย  My man Jon Sandman had the first video I saw!

That is all for me today! I hope you all have a great day! I’ll be back tomorrow, and hope to see you then. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Food Poisoning!

Hey Everyone!

So. Last week. Friday was awful.

My wife was sick and I wasn’t feeling well. That is about where we left it. About 10 minutes after I finished that post, I left work. I stopped at my mom’s house and snagged some Gatorade, per my wife’s request. About 30 minutes after I made it home I got pretty violently ill. My wife and I were in the same boat and couldn’t do anything, other than lay there and try not to die lol. We spoke about how it was no coincidence that we both had the same thing going on at the same time. We determined through process of elimination that we had food poisoning from old bacon! This is the first time bacon has ever let me down in life. Not pleased. ๐Ÿ˜ก

We Started feeling better the next morning for the most part. We were dehydrated and hungry from not being able to keep anything down the day before. We were also scared to eat anything out of fear of getting sick again. We ended up being Ok for the most part. Saturday was spent re cooperating.

Sunday I had two softball games. One at 12:45pm and the other right after at 2:00pm. It started pouring down rain during the first one. It started Thundering during the second one, before clearing up and being humid as all hell. It was a long couple of games but we all played fairly well, and won both games. The only games we have lost this season were the games that I couldn’t attend, so I keep making the joke that I’m the chosen player and that they can’t win without me lol.I’ll use that until we lose. ๐Ÿ˜€

Since we still hadn’t eaten a real meal since Thursday night, we went out to Olive Garden for dinner. That got us back on track. Work is back on track this morning as well. I’m just glad we are both over everything now.

I hope you all had a great weekend and didn’t have food poisoning. XD Have a great Monday and I’ll be back again tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I missed posting yesterday, due to that darn UPS project again. I promise I’m not forgetting you! ๐Ÿ˜€

The idea of having a ‘Coffee Talk’ seems weird to me today, because my stomach is doing flips and I can’t really drink it. I feel like it wouldn’t sit well. We had a rough night last night. My wife was waking up out of a dead sleep and throwing up, Everett woke up with a bit of a cough, and now I’m feeling a bit weird in my stomach as well. I haven’t thrown up yet, and I’m not fully sure I will. I hope not because I’m at work, and how embarrassing would that be? ๐Ÿ˜€ Either way, I have a coffee poured I just haven’t been able to drink it.

We were supposed to go back to the water park this Saturday but that may not be happening now. :/ Oh well, our health is more important. Speaking briefly about my UPS project, I only have one more piece to the puzzle to be done with it! It is also the hardest and most important piece, but only one still. I still hope to be done with it by the end of June, that is my overall goal.

Everett has been clapping, which I’ve shown you before, he has been waving (using his whole arm), and now he is getting pretty good at picking up his bottles and sippy cups and drinking on his own.

He has also been mimicking movement pretty well. My wife was pushing and pulling a toy of his and he went right over and did the same thing. It is pretty neat.

That is all I have for you today, I hope we all feel better soon. I’ll hopefully be back Monday, and hope to see you then! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Not A Great Morning!

Hey Everyone!

So this morning took a turn at the worst possible time.

Everything was going well. We got up got ready, fed the animals, fed Everett and all was well. We got him dressed, and packed his lunch, then got him in his car seat and off we went. So far so good. He has been fussy eating lately and finally is eating. I got to his daycare and took him out of his car seat and he started throwing up. I mean on everything. He threw up on me, his bag, himself, the parking lot, everywhere. I believe it was just from the amount of food he ate, and that he isn’t sick. There is of course no real way to prove that.

I cleaned him up and changed his clothes in the parking lot and brought him in with just his food. I told the director that he threw up his food and that he wasn’t sick. In the process I handed him to her thinking nothing of it. She then told me that as a regulation that they aren’t able to keep kids for the day if they have thrown up. I knew this and at the time it slipped my mind. They have to treat everything as if it is contagious until proven otherwise. I understand that.

The situation is and was just frustrating to me. I was caught off guard with the situation and just didn’t know what to do. I was under a time constraint to get to work (if I even went), needed to change my clothes, and possibly find something to do with Everett for the day.ย  After she told me that I took Everett back from her and just walked out. I headed home to change and drop Everett off and called my mom, who was able to watch him today. Thankfully!

I made it to work just as the morning bell rang, and sat at my desk, taking my first real breath since this all transpired. I reflected on how I handled things at the daycare and wasn’t pleased with it. I wasn’t mean about anything, and I didn’t say anything that was rude, but I was short and just kinda left after she told me he couldn’t stay. I also normally gently push the door shut and today I just kinda flung it shut. Not trying to slam it but just being in a hurry. So not liking how that may have come off, I called the daycare back and talked to the director and told her I was sorry if I came off as rude in anyway, and that it was not my intention. She told me that she wasn’t trying to be mean or ruin my day either, which I knew, but it was nice to clear the air. The last thing I wanted was for her or anyone to think I was being rude. I believe that she understands that it was frustrating to be covered in vomit and then be told that he can’t be at daycare, and try to get to work all in the same 5 minutes lol.ย  I hope that she believed me and know that I was sincere.

The rest of my day hasn’t been great either. We finally got the UPS issue worked out yesterday and everything was great. Was. Today, totally unrelated their scale just “quit” working. It must have been hit or slammed on, because it no longer reads. They are now dead in the water for a complete different reason. We have a rep coming to fix it soon I hope.

That is all for me! Is it Friday yet? ๐Ÿ˜€ I will be back again tomorrow, I hope to see you then. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Busy Busy Busy!

Hey Everyone!!

There is plenty I have to tell you but unfortunatly I cut my index finger with a butter knife this morning haha ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ I wish I was making this up. lol

In short my weekend was great we had our company picnic and Everett loved the water park.

Father’s Day I had two softball games. We won both and had a nice little picnic with my whole family after.

Yesterday and today have been packed with that UPS project. I have been dealing with the installation of that software and upgrade for a literal 13 hours out of my 16 hours two days. It has been a nightmare, but the good news is that two of the three PC’s are now in and fully operational! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ I’ll take it haha.

I hope you all had a great weekend and start to the week. I hope all of the fathers enjoyed a nice Father’s Day and were able to spend it with those closest to them. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ll try to be back tomorrow, I hope to see you then! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Coffee Talk (World Cup)

Hey Everyone!

So the World Cup started yesterday. There are games going on from June 14th-July 15th. The World Cup is huge! Even people like myself who don’t follow the sport year round, stop for a while and watch. My brother and I grew up playing soccer. I played from age 5 until age 15, he played from age 5 until now. He still plays indoor soccer at a local YMCA now that I think about it lol. ๐Ÿ˜€ย  We both like the sport but it is hard to get access to it in the United States, it seems. Well, until the World Cup starts, and even then it isn’t advertised heavily. In total they play 64 games to see who will reign supreme. As most people heard a while back the US team did not make it in this time, which is sad. But to be honest we have always had a better women’s team. ๐Ÿ˜€ I have two personal friends in the Netherlands and they are upset they don’t have a team either. Normally I root for them because I have ties with people there, but I can’t even do that this year.

I know here in the Eastern Standard time zone that we have games at 8am this morning, 11am, and 2pm today. I’ll try to have them on in the background somehow. I think the only game that will be worth a real watch might be the 2pm game between Portugal and Spain. I have the Egypt v. Uruguay game on Hulu right now.

This all being said, do you watch the world cup? Do you have a favorite country that partakes? I used to be a huge Brazil fan back in the day. Let me know in the comments below. If you are watching the games let me know if you do anything fun for them, like watch in groups and have parties? Just a thought. Enjoy your day and the weekend!

I’ll see you all again Monday! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

ps just informed that Egypt hasn’t been in the world cup in 28 years! wow.

Bring On The Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

I’m looking toward the weekend already. I am over this work week. Not for any real reason, it has just been a slow week. I’m still not loving this UPS thing. They have pushed a piece ofย  software off to another department and are just running around. I’m not even mad I just want to get this project off my desk literally. ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway, this weekend we have my company’s summer picnic. It is at a water park every year. They rent a pavilion and have food catered. We get passes for the park and water rides, and even play some Bingo! Last year Everett was only two months old, so he will hopefully enjoy himself better this year. We hope the weather stays nice because they are calling for some rain but it should be ok.

This is a short post for a short attention span. I’ll be back again tomorrow morning, for some coffee talk. I hope to see you then! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
