I Didn’t Forget You, I Am Just Busy!

Hey Everyone!

I didn’t forget to post today, I just have run straight out of time for anything meaningful.

I should be posting tomorrow at the same time I normally do. πŸ˜€

Again, I didn’t for get you haha

See ya then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What A Day!

Hey Everyone!

Let me run down a recap of the rest of my Monday. I left work early to have enough time to gather my dog’s urine and take it to the Vet for further testing. She had a UTI and I wanted to make sure that it was all cleared up and that she was good to go! To be short, they called back and said she was all clear. Again I took her on the leash and slid a dinner plate under her haha. I scared her a little bit this time so she stopped going. I had to transfer the urine into a baggie because I didn’t have a different small container with a lid. It took some real skill to do all of this, I’m sure you can imagine haha.

I was all ready to head to the Vet and my wife had picked Everett up for his 9 month checkup. The timing was great. I was ready to go, and so was she. We grabbed Everett and headed out. We hit up the Vet first and then headed to his appointment. We made it there with about 30 seconds to spare. The called his name and back we went.

The appointment didn’t really go so well, unfortunately. :/ He only needed one shot, so that was good, but he seemed to be in rough shape other wise. He has another yeast infection on his bottom, and a double ear infection. This after he just got over the Flu. They gave us a referral to meet with an ear, nose, and throat doctor in Buffalo, for tubes. We have time to decide if he really needs them or not, but we may as well get the process started. After the appointment we had to grab some groceries. We hit up the local Wegmans and had some subs there, before shopping for food. That way we didn’t shop on an empty stomach. Everett was having the best time, because for the first time he was able to sit in the cart and see everything.

He is still a bit tiny so we watched him closely but he did great. We finished grabbing groceries and headed home. Once we were back in town we had to pick up his two prescriptions at the local CVS. He needed stuff for his ears and cream for his baby butt.

By the time we really got home, it was about bead time. We unpacked, and put everything away, and that was that.

One thing I forgot to mention, was that Everett also bonked his head at daycare and had a nice bruise on his head. I just told her that he is now crawling and pulling himself up. I did all of this so that she would pay attention to him and make sure he wasn’t doing anything that was going to result in something like that. :/ I guess he pulled up on a toy and was bouncing around, while holding on to it. He fell forward and hit his face. He also got a bloody nose…DOH! I just wish they did a better job at watching him. Sadly there is nothing or no one in the area willing to watch kids this young. So again, our options are more than limited. I feel trapped a bit, because I have to have child care, but the care isn’t up to snuff. This then leads to us not feeling comfortable with him being there for safety reasons, but having no where to go.

We will see how today goes when I pick him up.

That is all from me today! I hope you are having a great Tuesday. I know I am taking some time to chill after yesterday’s all day affair haha.Β  I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What A Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was a fun one for me. I didn’t just sit at home the whole time and wish the weather was better.

We were trying to dodge the Flu though, and I think my wife lost that battle. I for one, am still doing fine for the most part. I have a stuffy head, but she is feeling all the aches and pains. 😦

We can start off of Saturday! I woke up bright and early and got ready, like normal, because….I had a Masonic seminar most of the day. It was about an hour and a half away and my cousin and one other guy were going with. We left our city at about 7am and teh meeting started at 9am. I corresponded with my wife’s grandpa, so I could drop offΒ  our documents for taxes. Two birds. One stone. πŸ˜‰ We arrived a bit early, like you should, and signed in. We continued down aΒ  line of tables and got our folder with information for the day and then the good stuff. Next came the doughnuts and coffee! I had too many doughnuts and that is all I’ll say, but they were good.

The meeting was for people looking to move through the ranks in lodge. It covered everything, in basic form, you would need to run a lodge as a Worshipful Master for a whole year. We were able to asks questions in an open format and have a couple good conversations. There were mentors and District Deputy Grand Masters there from all over the state. So, lots of knowledge there for the picking! These type of events are fun, because you can really get a sense of how big the organization is and how big of an impact they make on the community. For lunch we had some homemade sloppy Joe’s, egg salad sandwiches, veggies, soup, and apple pie. Afterwards we had a presentation of organ donation and blood donations. As a Mason, signed up for the blood club, you are able to ensure that if you ever need blood that we will get it. This is of course after insurance pays for what they can. It also covers your immediate family, so that is very nice to be a part of. We finished up our little lecture and were out of there around 1:30pm. We waited around a bit and my wife’s mom brought over some frozen goods we should have had the weekend we didn’t go back. I guess you can retract my previous statement and say we killed three birds with one stone. πŸ˜€

Sunday we wanted to get out a little bit since, other than my meeting, we had been cooped up for a while. Everett has gotten over the Flu and we figured some fresh are was much deserved. The weather was somewhat chilly but it felt good to me, with the appropriate attire. So we went for our first walk all winter! We made sure to bundle Everett up as best we could:

We were able to sit him up more since he is bigger. He seemed to like being able to see more. I was wondering how much he would remember since developmentally he hadn’t really been on a walk in months. He can now see further and start to understand his surroundings. We also had to stop and take a nice family photo along the way:

Everett didn’t seem overly thrilled but I assure you he had a good time. Our dog was with us too but good luck getting her to hold still!

After our walk we watched a movie, which was not particularly good. I would have reviewed it but I am fairly busy at work today. I can tell you it was Spectre, the James Bond flick. I know it is a couple years old, but I can tell you that IMDB.com has it at a 6.8 I would go lower than that. It was very disappointing in my eyes. The story was there but just about everything turned me off from it. Either way it was nice to stop doing everything and watch a movie. The rest of the day my wife edited some pictures, Everett played beside us in the attic, and I was able to get a few games in. Over all it was a good weekend.

Today I am jam packed with things to do. I have to collect a urine sample from our female dog, and get it tested again to make sure her UTI is gone. Then it is off to Everett’s nine month appointment. This is where he will get a ton of shots and be mad at us for a short time haha. By the way….Everett is nine months old, I failed to mention that last Thrusday! Woo!

That is all for me today, I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you back again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I made it in to work today! I was ready to stay home, not because I was too ill but because we couldn’t find anyone to watch Everett. I spoke with my mom when I got home and she didn’t seem interested. She had watched him the two days prior, so she probably had to get back to work.

Late in the evening I got a hold of my boss and made sure that it would be ok if I took the time off to stay home with him. He was fine with all of it, and I thought 100% that I would be home today. No sooner then when I got off the phone with him did my dad shoot me a text. He asked if Everett was going to day care or not. He said that he was willing to watch him. I gave him a call did a quick run down of what we do and what we don’t do. And that is that.

This morning he will be there, well in ten minutes since I wrote this line. My wife will do a more visual run down of how we operate, and the rest will be history.

Tomorrow I have a Masonic learning seminar, type thing. It is about an hour and a half away and will take most of the day. My cousin Mike and I are going along with one other guy from our lodge, Tom. This seminar is for people looking to move through the ranks, and although I am not I still hold a position that is geared towards moving up. I would love to move through the ranks but I’m scared my memorization will never be enough to get all those lines down. I may be that guy who scoots over to secretary and stays for years. It requires less lines but still demands respect. Anyway, this seminar is going to be pretty fun, even though I’m a bit under the weather. They provide lunch and what not then we come home. I have to leave by 7am tomorrow morning.

That is all for me today. I’ll try not to spill my coffee all over myself today. πŸ˜‰

Ill, Disaster, & Bringing It Back!

Hey Everyone!

Well it looks like we are all going to get sick like we thought. :/ My wife and I started feeling it yesterday or so. We are both at work today, because, well, you know. No time to take off haha. Well not entirely, but we have to be strategic about how we use it. I may be using some tomorrow, if I get worse, and she can’t take off to stay with Everett. By the way, he still have a slight fever so he is home the rest of the week. So if you don’t hear from me tomorrow, well, I’m not here. πŸ˜€ If I don’t take off tomorrow I’ll probably take of Monday, if I can, and If I’m still sick. I can only assume we are going to feel real bad this weekend, that is why I’m planning things this way. I really just hope that Everett doesn’t get this crap again after he gets rid of it.

In other news, my morning was going pretty well, until I spilled a whole cup of coffee on myself haha. It was a nice fresh cup, full to the brim. I think I went to grab at it, clearly missed, and dropped it. It went all over my desk on my shirt and pants, and all over my plastic floor mat. DOH! That felt good, thankfully I wasn’t burned in anyway. That would have been really embarrassing haha. Β  I do have a nice large stain on my shirt and pants for the rest of the day… :/ I’m going to try to stay in my office as much as possible the rest of the day. But heck with all that going on this morning, maybe I should have have “Coffee Talk” today lol. πŸ˜€

Keeping it scattered, I have been wanting to start drawling again. I am pretty good, nothing amazing I’m sure but I always excelled in most things art related. That being music, painting, drawing, stuff like that. I never continued much after the burden of real life bogged me down, but I would like to, even if just for a short time, get back into it. I have been thinking about bringing my wife’s secondary camera with me in the car, so that I can stop alone the road when I see an amazing landscape. I want to get a sketch pad and work on my fine lines and images. I had my ukulele out for a while and now I have it stored away with a dead tuner, so I haven’t touched that in a while.

I would love to get back into skateboarding, but I am for sure way too out of shape for that at the moment. I still have my last board, I could tool around on it this summer a bit. I may be able to even take it on walks with my family and dog. Who knows. I just want to bring back what used to give me so much joy. I have gotten too far away from things I used to love, and honestly still do. I just have excuses as to why I don’t do them anymore. I either don’t have time, or am just too lazy to do so. To be fair after a long day of work and with a new baby it is harder to find time, but maybe I can start squeezing some of this back into my life. Since college I have filled most of my free time with video games. I do love them too, but I have not done that other stuff because of it. Hell I even love working on cars, I just don’t have the money or the vehicle to fix or modify. lol

Hopefully I can work on these things. I hope you can reflect on things like this as well, and who knows maybe pick up something you put down years ago!

I’ll be back again tomorrow, maybe. I’ll see ya when I see ya! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Guess Who Is Crawling!

Hey Everyone!

First a quick update on my boy. He is doing well, but still had a slight fever so we kept him home again today. My mom is home with him since my wife and I don’t have a bunch of time to take from work.

Last night when I got home I noticed that Everett was crawling! Like for real crawling, not that backwards crap he was doing before haha. My wife thought I knew already, but I did not. So I made sure to get a quick video of him going for the TV remote. Check it out:

If you wish to hear cute baby noises turn that volume up. πŸ˜€

Today was pay day for me and again I am sad haha. The moment I see it is the moment it is gone. I have a bit of credit card debt from the holidays that has been killin me. I haven’t been able to get it off of there yet, so I haven’t been saving for home repairs and what not. Hopefully, I can get it down soon. I just have to make sure I don’t just say “Screw it!” and go buy more stuff haha.

Work is pretty steady today, which helps the day go by faster. I got my hands on our old domain controller, so I am trying to mess around with it to learn more about installing servers. I haven’t been able to get it running yet, but it is only because we can’t remember what version we had on it lol. I have it sitting in my office and it sounds like a nice big jet engine. I hope the people in the hall don’t mind it too much haha. I would like to just run though the process of setting it up and mess with the web server end of it a bit, maybe.

I hope the rest of us don’t get sick from Everett and that is about it haha.

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Photography Contest!

Hey Everyone!

First let me start out by saying that things seem to be ironed out with our baby sitter. She did not pic up when I called last night, but she did call me right back. I’m not sure if we believe her or not about not getting the other messages but the fact she called and spoke with me helped tremendously. I cleared the air about the tax thing and talked to her for a good 40 minutes.

Everett is still sick and has a small fever today so we may be keeping him home again tomorrow. He is still super active and having fun at home. My wife sent me this picture of him today.

At face value it doesn’t look like much, but if you look a bit longer you can see that he is standing on his own. He pulled himself up that jumper and is holding on alone. That is awesome or scary depending on how you take it haha. I think it is awesome!

Speaking about my wife, she entered some photography thing created by Shoot & Share. I think she just did it for fun without any real thoughts or feelings about making it very far. That being said she received a message today saying that they are down to the last 10.3% of photos entered in 25 categories. To scale this they started with 412,379 entries. With 10.3% left that means that there are only 42,543 entries left.Β  The contest has had 57 million votes and they this is the last week to vote. That is pretty exciting! There are prizes for the top 3 entries in each of the 25 categories. I think it is cool that she has made it this far in a public contest. Her pictures are great and I hope one day that we can get into a situation where she can do this for a living. Right now we just have too many things to pay for and not enough money to do it haha.Β  Even if she can get a better job with set hours and have some side time to pursue her photography career. We will have to wait and see. πŸ˜€

Oh if you were interested in looking at the contest and voting you can go to contest.shootandshare.com

I didn’t realize how big of a contest this really was haha.

If you want to check out some of my wife’s work you can checkΒ  her photography Instagram: Here!

Or her Facebook page: Here!

I guess this is a “Pimp My Wife” post haha I’m ok with it. πŸ˜€

That is all for me today! I hope you all have a great Tuesday, and I’ll do the same! C-ya tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Hey Everyone!

I missed Friday’s post due to this weird co-worker cover shift crap. We have divider her job between three of us and it is a pain in the ass. I get caught off guard by getting her work put on my desk at different times each day. They have also been running into some issues so the delay means I can’t predict when I’ll get my part to do. Just today I am still not done with my part, but last week sometime I was able to get it all done by 9:30 so who knows.

This weekend was not great by any means. I think we pissed off our babysitter some how and Everett has the Flu. Allow me to elaborate. We were supposed to be going to to my wife’s grandpartent’s house. That all fell apart when Everett came one Friday with a fever. We decided to stay home and make him an appointment for Saturday morning. While we were home bound for the night I figured I would try my hand at doing our taxes online for the first time. I got to the section about child care, and needed my child care providers SSN, if under a single person operation, or EIN if she was operating under a daycare status. Not thinking any thing of it I text her and asked for either. I got a poorly worded text back saying that she was not a daycare, just a babysitter. That lead me to believe that I would then need her SSN. I asked her for that so that I could finish my taxes up and I got no response. So I waited, maybe she was busy. As time passed my wife and I realized that she was most likely working 100% under the table, which would make sense, as to why, maybe, she was offended?

Saturday came, after being ignored all evening, and Everett had his doctor appointment. We figured he had an ear infection again and that we would leave from there to go back. Well, that was until he came back positive for Influenza A. So we headed on home, as not to get anyone else sick. Not hearing back from our baby sitter, we wanted to call her and clear the air about the tax thing and let her know that Everett was sick as well. This was late in the day mind you. I called her home phone with no answer. I then called her cell phone, with no answer, and left her a messages saying ” Hey, its Cale. I just wanted to clear the air with the whole tax thing, we weren’t aware that you operated under the table, and we are fine with that. In other news Everett tested positive for the Flu, please call me back when you can, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bye.” Sounds very calm and non aggressive to me?!? The rest of the evening went by without hearing from her. Everett was on a regiment of Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

Sunday morning arrived and we had another hell of a night sleeping in the living room with Everett being fussy. Around mid morning I tried giving our baby sitter another call, since it had now been about two days since she first ignored me. I got no answer on her home phone, and her cell phone was off so it went to voicemail. I didn’t leave one because I didn’t want to be that super annoying guy. I just wanted to speak with her. Still nothing as of, after dinner. That meant that I haden’t heard from her since Friday afternoon and I still wasn’t able to contact her directly about Everett being sick. So around 7pm Sunday I called again. No answer on the home phone, and no answer on the cell. I left a message saying, “Hey, its Cale. I hope you got my other voicemail. If not, Everett tested positive for the Flu, and wont be able to come to day care until his fever has broke for a full 24 hours. The soonest he would be back is Tuesday, we will keep you posted. Thanks. Bye.” That was that. Even now on a day where she watches kids I haven’t heard back. I don’t know if she is avoiding me because of the tax thing, that I don’t even mind, or for some other reason. Why, wouldn’t she call me back? My wife and I are mad about it all and when we do bring him back it is going to be super awkward. We don’t really feel comfortable sending him back there if she is mad at us for some reason, or because she failed to communicate with us as an adult running an illegal business.

My guess is that I will call her again tonight to let her know that he will be out for tomorrow too and likely be back Wednesday. I’m banking on her not picking up the phone :/ The real issue here is that we don’t have many options when it comes to legit daycare centers, and most people that do watch kids don’t report it on their taxes, so we would never get a tax break. That being said we really don’t mind it and can’t, because if she is really mad with us she can just say she isn’t willing to watch Everett anymore and we would be fucked. (Sorry for the language, but its true) We are kinda stuck.

We would love to just send him to another sitter entirely, but around here you can’t fins anyone. I just got off the phone with my wife. I may call the babysitter this afternoon, knowing that she is home with kids and try getting them to answer the phone. Who knows.

Here a couple pictures of my sick boy. He is still active and eating well enough. We hope he is over this by Wednesday.

That is all for me today! I hope you have a great Monday and I’ll see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

What Day Is It?

Hey Everyone!

I’m all confused with this week. With our Valentines Day luncheon I thought it was like Friday, when it was indeed only Wednesday?! Today I still think it is Friday, when it is of course Thursday?! This is, of course, because I thought we were going back to her grandparent’s place on Saturday, and she asked if we were going back tomorrow. She meant that we would leave Friday and stay the night, which I wasn’t fully aware of. So needless to say my week is a mess! πŸ˜€ It is a very OK mess, but a mess all the same.

Work is very slow right now. I have one thing to do right after lunch so I do have to keep this one simple. Our adventure with Everett in his own room has ended haha. My wife freaked herself out, like most people do, about him suffocating and not being able to hear his cries. She then did the worst thing possible and got on the damn internet. For those of you not aware of that effect, its like when you have a cold and WebMD tells you, that you have cancer and will die in 5 days. Same applies here. She was a bit worried, got online, and now thinks he will just magically die for no reason haha. We all know that isn’t true, but to be cautious, because we can, we have him back in our room. He is in his pack and play instead of his bassinet because he is now way to big for it.

This weekend will be a nice relaxing one at her grandparent’s house. We are going to, hopefully, solidify that we are moving back, and that he will build or place the house down on the land and allow us to buy it from him. That way we can sell our house without worry of where our things will go and then the job search will really begin for me.

That is all for me today. I hope you have a great T.H.U.R.S.D.A.Y. haha, and I’ll see you all again tomorrow morning for “Coffee Talk” πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination!

Hey Everyone!

I was nominated for the “Sunshine Blogger Award” by my new friend Lily over at Retrospectivelily.com .

I graciously accept, this nomination and want to thank Lily for the chance to be apart of this award! Please check out her blog for great posts about literature and much more!

Lets get into this thing!

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring as they spread sunshine to the blogging community.Β

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or your blog.

On to the questions!!!

  1. What television show are you watching right now (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, network TV, etc.)? No joke, I just finished binging all 7 seasons of Game of Thrones! I am watching the Olympics on live TV, and The Detour.
  2. What are you reading right now?
….Um, about that. For real, nothing. On an honest note, not being religious I really want to read the NABΒ  cover to cover.
  3. Coffee or Tea? Black Coffee. At least two full cups a day! I got to lazy to add other things haha.
  4. Why do you blog? I have been asked this on multiple occasions. I started because I was bored with some free time at work. I had no plans no goals, nothing at all. I now write to chronicle my daily life mostly, and to throw in a few extras when I am able.
  5. If traveling were free, where would you like to go? I have friends in the Netherlands that I haven’t met yet. I would also love to go to the Ukraine, since that is where some of my family was born. I now sponsor a child in Zambia and think it would be a great experience to visit him and his family.
  6. Who is your favorite band or musician? Recently I have been big on EDM and never thought I would be. It helps me relax and focus. I enjoy Krady, Nicky Romero, Monster Cat, and Cell Dweller.
  7. What is your dream job? I would have to say being a CTO or Director of IT would be awesome. That is what I am striving to be currently.
  8. If you could only pick one for the rest of your life_books, movies, or television shows/series-which would you pick? Hands down I would pick television. They offer more content usually at an acceptable length. I am a huge fan of visual media and books usually don’t don’t do it for me.Β
  9. What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given? Good question, I’m not sure anything has ever stuck. Maybe just the mindset of living below my means.
  10. What is the worst movie you’ve ever seen. Damn, that is tough. I try my whole life to avoid bad movies and now that I have to pick it is hard to do so. Not sure I can pick just one. I would say most parody movies are awful. Most of Will Ferrell’s later works are also terrible. I hate most movies with Vince Vaughn in them too haha. That is just a personal preference.
  11. What are your goals for this year? My wife and I have a huge goal of building or putting a house down and are currently trying to start that process. It is driving my crazy already so the sooner the better.

Now, it’s time for another round of nominations and questions!
