Quick Poem!

~When the uncertainty of life weighs down on you each day~

~It is up to you and yours to find the correct way~

~Things may seem bleak for a moment or so ~

~It is in those moments that you must grow~

~As you continue to fight your way through ~

~Always remember to just stay true~

I didn’t have anything for you today, no news, updates, or life events. Instead of just rambling I thought I would try this instead. I sat down, cleared my head, to the best of my ability haha, and wrote what came to me. Sounds corny and even makes me feel weird sharing a quick poem that was written in 3 minutes. I hope you enjoy it! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Busy Day Today!

Hey Everyone!

I have been super busy with work today, which is welcomed any time. Just a quick run down of things I’ve done will follow. I have corrected a couple networking errors, set up a Sales Department Kiosk PC, had a meeting with Purchasing about the transfer of one of their employees and the addition of a new one, set up a laptop for said transferring employee to use while training, helped set up a new printer in our other building, fielded a few tech help questions, and solidified the use of the new Debit/Credit form I created. Now if that is too large of a sentence, good! That was a ton of stuff all in the matter of a couple hours. It doesn’t end here either. When I get done writing this I’ll be off to finishΒ  setting up that printer for a few people, as well as creating another PC for the new employee coming Monday.

Last night my wife and I had a little discussion about the home situation. Her mother gave us some insight that, having one built or placed on the property by her grandparents is not out of the question. To me that is a good sign. We just have to voice the question out right and see where we land. He may straight up say no. He may straight up say yes. He maaayyy say yes with a stipulation that we build rather than place one down. He mayΒ  want to pick his own contractor, or have say in what is built (which we don’t want). there are still a bunch of unknowns but for now I like the fact that they just haven’t said no yet haha.

Everett has his 8 month checkup today right after work, so I’ll pick him up from day care and grab his mama, and be on our way. I am excited to see how a routine checkup goes there. Again we are at the new pediatrician, that we love so far. We have a few questions about his diaper rashes and what not but other than that it should be pretty straight forward.

I have finished season four of Game of Thrones, and still love it dearly. I will not spoil anything, just in case there are people new to the series, like I was. It is just amazing how they can keep the intensity up while having a great story line.

That is all for me today, I hope you have a great Tuesday! I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Weekend Travel!

Hey Everyone!

It’s Monday again, Blah! Other than that things are going pretty well. Our weekend was fairly successful. Saturday morning we got up and hurried to get ready. We left the house around 9am so that we could make our appointment at 11am with the modular home people. It was very overcast and rained most of the day but held off while we were walking through the lot of homes. We learned a ton of things from the sales rep, who was very nice by the way. We narrowed it down to the specific building company we liked and the styles we liked. Once we were done with the touring part we sat down in his office and went over more details and other floor plans.

With that done and over with we headed to her grandparent’s house for some lunch. My wife’s friend came over to see her as well, since we don’t make it back very often. You can see everyone on the floor playing with Everett.

Not a great picture, I know, but I have to be sneaky haha. No one I know other than my wife knows I even blog remember.

We were supposed to ask if her grandparents would help us by putting a house down for us on their land, and allow us to buy it once ours sold, but my wife never posed the question. That being said they are still all for us moving back. I spoke with her grandfather at some length about it. He just wants us to weigh all our options. Little does he know, we kind of have haha. If we had our way we would be back tomorrow. Most of the process would be determined by timing. We would either have a house to go to or not, we would sell fast or slow, I could find a job in a month or six, ya know what I mean? So once the ball gets rolling we would like to have as many constants as we can and knowing that we would have a place already would be awesome. I don’t know if that will happen or not.

Later that day we met with my wife’s friends for an early dinner. One of her girlfriends is getting deployed for the first time to Afghanistan. We surprised her at this local bar and had a nice time.

Sunday we stayed in for the most part, I went and grabbed some groceries, while my wife cleaned the house a bit. Everett was enjoying his ball pit.

This one is a week late but Everett is over 8 months old now and getting really fun to play with. He is still a little guy for his age as far as charts go but he will catch up just fine.

What a ham! Every time you point a camera at him he smiles right at it. His mom has him trained haha.

I was able to squeeze in some gaming time as well and I have reached my highest rank ever in Rocket League Solo play! In Solo Doubles you can see I’m Platinum II and in Solo Threes I am Platinum I for the first time. I’m pretty excited about this since I haven’t played as much as I normally do. It was a welcomed surprise.

That was my weekend! I hope you all had great ones as well. I’ll be back tomorrow, and I’ll see you then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk

Hey Everyone!

This is a little later, but a “Coffee Talk” all the same.

This is there first time I have been at my desk for more than 2 minutes all morning. I’m super glad it is Friday!

Tomorrow we go back to my wife’s home town. We have made our appointment with the lady at the modular home company. We will meet with her and do a walk through as well as explore our other options with them. I was able to talk with my co-worker who also got a home from the same area, although it was 10 years ago. I think the rates are very similar still. He got a 2 story house for around $118,000 and had his own basement done for another $50,000. We had a single story ranch priced with a full basement for around $169,000. It is over our price point I think, for what we want but the rates seem to even out a bit. We will just have to wait and see. We need to not get ahead of ourselves as we still have to speak with her grandparents about the whole thing.

Like I mentioned I have been busy all morning and hope I can have some down time the rest of the day. Fingers crossed haha. Not necessarily “down” time but slower requests.

The depressing part of my day is realizing that my student loan payments come out today. 😦 It is tough to see $700 disappear in an instant haha. This also reminds me of my Children International sponsor child Abel! My auto payment for that comes out the same day as my student loans. I am still waiting on a response to the food and gift I sent for him and his family. His birthday is January 9th, so I sent his family some traditional food items, and I bought him a soccer ball and some orange Fanta. I guess that is huge over there. They, from what I hear, send pictures when the family comes and gets the items at the local town center. I am patiently waiting to see his face again. πŸ˜€

That is about it. I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll try to do the same. I’ll see you all again Monday with an update on the weekend! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Masons & Weighing Options

Hey Everyone!

We have made it to the downhill slide towards the weekend! I hope you are as excited as I am.

Last night, my father and I had attended an Masonic practice. There we go over ritual, verbiage, and movement. This way we don’t screw it up when it counts haha. During a real meeting, nothing is allowed to be read from a piece of paper or out of a book, so memorization and learning are key. It was a nice time, there were 6 or 7 of us in attendance. We would much rather see more, but you get what you can on a Wednesday evening.

My wife and I are considering our options for moving back to her home town. If we can receive the amount of help we need we can push forward. Right now it is looking like the best option that suits our wants and needs, would be if we are able to have help from her grandparents. If they would agree to have a house built we could sell ours and buy that one, and move all of our stuff there. My wife could easily transfer her job, and the time it would take for me to find a new one would give time to have the house built and hopefully the other one sold. If they are not able or willing to help with that our options would be rather limited, so we will try this first. I have been on the phone all morning talking to our bank, internet providers, and modular home salesman. We are going possibly going on a walk through of a house when we go back this weekend. Also, while we are back, we are going to have that ever so important conversation with her grandparents. I’ll keep you updated.

We are headed back that way this weekend for another reason all together. My wife’s friend from college has been in the Army throughout school and is getting deployed for the first time. She is now out of school and it is time for her to do her duty I suppose. So a few of us are all going out that way to surprise her and hang out a bit before she leaves. We are hoping to not stay the night, because that would just be a hassle. We will probably meet up mid day and have dinner, then come home.

I actually just got word that we will be doing a walk through of a home Saturday morning. So things are moving along nicely.

That is all for me today, I hope you all enjoy your Thursday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Life, Heckfire, & Ingress!

Hey Everyone!

I wasn’t able to get a post out yesterday. I was focused on finding a solution or possible solution to the dilemma I posed Monday. Although I haven’t been able to do so, I have gathered my thoughts enough to post today haha.

We are working on some change, not sure what entirely, but change none the less. It may be my wife taking another job. It may be downsizing our house. It may be moving to another area. It may also be building new. Lastly it could remain the same, with tweaks to our budget. We are not certain which is best, which is viable, or which we will choose. It will be sorted either way, sometime, hopefully sooner than later.

On a much lighter note, I have been playing a mobile game in my free time that has become quite addicting. It is called, “Kingdoms of Heckfire.”

It is a clan based game like most of the others, but it has a cartoon live vibe to it unlike the rest. You build your own kingdom, level your buildings, research to add strength, and join a clan. Once in a clan you follow their set rules. You can, depending on what you want to do, climb the ranks and become a top advisor to the leader. You can also branch out and make your own clan from scratch. Our clan is now the #5 clan in our realm. I am one of the three VPs and have a lot of power over what is done within the clan. We create and break alliances to better suit our needs, and being one of the most powerful we can force our might on smaller clans. Now in a way our clan in particular has taken communication toΒ  whole different level. We have created a few Discord channels, one for our clan with a sub group for our leaders, as well as the same set up for us and the other clans we have allied with. This actually keeps the game fresh all day long. Instead of relying on in game notifications, I can be pinged in Discord about what is going on in more of a real time way. In some ways this game is more stress than it is worth, but it, like most video games helps distract you from reality, and lets you become whatever you want. That to me is fun.

Speaking of fun mobile games, I am still playing Ingress as well. That is, when I can. I don’t have much free time anymore to just waste gas and drive to portals haha. I have been able to slightly take back my small city from the evil enlightened green guys. Screen shot below:

I have made the majority of those fields and layered what I could. It may get taken out as we speak but for now it is covered. I have been doing most of the work myself, which is proving to be quite hard. I am low on resources all around. I do what I can. I have been playing for well over a year now and I have found myself capped as far as leveling due to badge progress. I need another gold badge to level up, and I have all of the ex to level just fine. I have been slow on some of the badges due to the area I play in and lack of travel. :/ It is understandable though and I’ll get there in time.

That is all for me I hope you have a great hump day, and I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Weekend & Dilemma

Hey Everyone!

This weekend was fun. Friday and Saturday I was put in charge of watching my parents dogs while they were out of town. They took a nice trip to Pittsburgh and seemed to have a nice time.

Saturday was rather boring and not very productive. The weather was getting better but it was still to crappy to go do anything. We stayed in and had a nice relaxing day.

Sunday my wife’s mother and grandparents came for a visit. It was her grandpa’s birthday and today is her grandmother’s birthday. We celebrated by going to Applebees for lunch/dinner. While we were waiting for our food to arrive Everett was able to get his first taste of lemon. It was quite funny, and luckily I was able to get it recorded for your enjoyment!

He ended up gnawing on that for about 10 minutes once he got used to it haha. Afterwards we headed back to our hose and had some cheese cake.

There is the birthday duo!

My wife and I have also found ourselves in a bit of a situation. She currently doesn’t like her job and wants to pursueΒ  her photography. I am happy to be working in IT in most any fashion, so long as it provides a stable income. Our current living arrangement would not allow for her to leave her job and pursue this dream. My salary alone could not afford our current living arrangement. So there in lies our issue. For her to be able to do what she would love to do something has to change. Her grandfather has offered us a few acres of land, that we could have, and we could build on that land. The catch is, is that it is in the middle of no where, where we lived before (about 1.5 hours away) I would have to find another job and leave the very stable one I have now. I would want another job where I can still afford everything I normally do, and maybe more now that I have a few years under my belt. She may be able to continue her current job until we can finish putting a house down, then pursue her photography. We would save money on a smaller house, but have the style we want. We would save again because her mom would watch our kid for free. We also would have total freedom of that land and wouldn’t have terrible neighbors as well! πŸ˜€ (big bonus)Β  It would just be a matter of everything lining up and pulling the trigger. To be honest it scare me a lot because I have grown to like to current situation and security within my job. To leave that worries me. I want to make sure I still can save money for retirement and for Everett. I don’t know if any of this will happen, but I do know we like that area better, and would be happier there. This one is tough. :/

That is all for my update. I hope you all had a great weekend! I’ll see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

PS. Almost forgot, Everett is 8 months old today! woo

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

It is another fine Friday morning! I have a couple responsibilities this weekend but other than that it should be smooth sailing. My parents are going to a cemetery today to look for old relatives, since my dad is hardcore into genealogy. From there they are going to Carnegie where my mother’s mother was born (My grandmother haha) to see the area. She passed away years ago now. They will eventually make there way to a hotel in Pittsburgh where they are walking distance from Jerome Bettis’ restaurant “Bettis 36”, the “Tilted Kilt” bar, and the Andy Warhol museum. Sounds like fun to me! They don’t get out enough, even with us kids finally out of their house. I’m glad they are going.I will be watching their dogs and cats until Saturday night, so they have nothing to worry about. I’ll check on them after work, and go over before bed. In the morning I’ll head over and check in a couple times throughout the day. Good news is that they only live a city block away.

As for us, we are just going to relax as much as we can. I know the weather is supposed to get better and the snow will melt, again. That means no shoveling for me πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ On top of that I got that headset in the mail yesterday, and let me tell you! It is like having clouds around my ears. The quality is better than anything I have ever heard before. I mean I have had a series of gaming headsets like a ton. There are the only ones that have made my in game sounds 100% better. It is like playing a whole different game. They are equipped with 7.1 surround sound and an equalizer that has an esports mode. It takes out all the unnecessary noises and allows you to hear footsteps like a boss. Anyway I’ll stop raving about them now haha.

I’ll be starting season 2 of “Game of Thrones” sometime today. The first season has me hooked. ( I knew it would) My binging has commenced lol You’ll know where to find me for the next month lol.

That is it for me this week. I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

GOT, W2s, & Headset!

Hey Everyone!

I have started watching Game of Thrones and have been swallowed whole by the story. I have a long way to go before I can catch up to season 8 but will do my best. I am most of the way through season 1 currently and I’m hooked!

I have done this with other shows in the past but nothing on this large of a scare. One that comes to mind is Avatar the Last Air Bender. I followed family trees, and looked at geographic maps. I find myself doing the same with this show. I’m excited to get through it.

Today at work we have received out W-2’s, which means one step closer to filling our taxes and figuring out what we can do/ should do with our basement. The rest of my day will be fairly long and drawn out. My boss is gone until Monday or Tuesday, depending on the weather. His son just had his second baby so he is driving to Virginia to be with him and his family.

Other than that everything is running smoothly. I also get my new headset today! My old headset was a few years old and the main plastic frame decided it was a good idea to break in half. They were nice Turtle Beach headphones, so I am sad to see them go. the new ones are a brand I haven’t heard of, because they are new to the PC scene. It is a brand by the name of Sennheiser. They have made a very solid quality headphone for years, but have recently made a wonderful headset (With a microphone) for PC. Here is the link for them on Amazon!

That is all from me today. I know it isn’t very interesting but sometimes life just has a lull. haha I’ll see you all back again for some “Coffee Talk” tomorrow morning! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Hey Everyone!

We have made it to the middle of the week and are on the slide into the weekend.

Yesterday, at work, once things calmed down a bit I tried to figure out what I would need to build my wife a pretty epic photo editing PC. I found out it would be around two to three thousand dollars. Right now we do not have the money for a full build so we are just going to have to deal with it until we can. Unlike other things you can’t really buy one piece at a time, or your whole PC will be outdated by the time you get all the pieces. Sure you can buy hard drives that last years, but as far as most other parts you will want them at the same time. It is also just easier to keep track of. There are things that she could and would keep from her old one like her hard drives, speaker system, and monitor (that would come to me replacing my 11 year old one haha) The build is pretty great for what shes needs. It would have a 7th gen i7 processor, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 120 GB SSD (For OS only), Two 6 TB hard drives @ 7200 RPM, as well as a GTX 1050. The external parts would be awesome as well including a brand new mechanical keyboard with extra keys for binding Photoshop macros, and two new 24 in monitors running at a 144Hz refresh rate. This all means one thing. She would have to clean off her desk haha. Anyway, we will have to wait and see what the tax refund fairly brings, and how we handle out basement water proofing before we decide.

We had a nice night in, and had home made chicken quesadillas for dinner. I really like the way my wife makes them. Everett ate with us and we gave him a couple strawberries. You can see how that goes:

He already ate most of a full one before that one haha. Needles to say he needed a bath afterwards. We rounded out our night by hanging out in the living room playing with Everett and watching some T.V..

This morning started pretty well. I was in a good mood, we got up early enough that we weren’t scrambling to get out the door, and the roads were OK. I got Everett to his babysitter, and then got an email that a few people didn’t have a network connection at work. That means the moment I walk in the door I have to get to work. We had three machines not connecting to the network. We found out that it was due to our likes of DHCP addresses being full. Those are the addressees within a certain range that are just handed out, when a device connects. Once we saw that it was only a matter of finding out what shouldn’t have been on the network, disconnecting them, and reconnecting the proper machines. Since then I have been back in a good mood. I had my coffee, and took care of a few other minor issues, but nothing too serious.

I will be riding out the rest of the day as smoothly as possible. That is all for me today, I hope you have a great Wednesday! I’ll see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
