Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

I wasn’t able to push a post out yesterday. Sorry about that. I, much like today was covering for a co-worker and it just stayed busy.

This will be my last post in 2017! That is crazy to think about. I just re-upped my WP subscription so I’m legit for another year.

As far as what is going on this weekend, I think my brother’s and their families are all going bowling tonight. For New Years Eve, we are going to my brother’s house and having a game night and trying to stay awake. haha. Both will be interesting with small children. We will see how that pans out. πŸ˜€

This year has been pretty good to me. I’m in a great spot, career wise, we had our first child and things are only going to get better from there.

What were some of your memorable 2017 moments? Feel free to share them with me in the comments below. πŸ˜€

Since I have been at work since 6am I am on my third cup and it is currently getting cold! Yikes! I’ll be heading out and finishing my cup of coffee. I’ll see you next year! Have a great one! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Christmas #2, #3, #4!

Hey Everyone!

This is going to be somewhat of a picture post, since it was super busy this long weekend. I hope you had a great holiday weekend. Well We better get this started!

Sunday we celebrated Christmas #2 It was with my wife’s grandparents, her mother, and her sister. They made the trip even though there was supposed to be a big storm. Thank fully we didn’t get much of it. Side note, speaking of storms check out Erie, PA. I live about an hour and a half from there and they got record breaking amounts of snow this weekend. like over 50 inches in two days. Wow!

Everett is hanging out with his great grandma and her nice boot, in this first picture.

Later we decided to get the party started and do some gift giving. We, of course, needed a picture of our baby in front of it all. A little drooly but still cute!

Although he really doesn’t know what is going on, and only wants to eat everything he touches, it still looks like he was pretty excited. He knew this wasn’t a normal day.

Have you ever seen a 7 month old so excited to get a couple of DVDs?!?

Opening gifts with his mom and grandma they decided it would be best for him to wear a ribbon until he could find a nice hat!

Once he found a nice hat the ribbon was replaced and all was well within the baby world.

I’m not sure he knew how to conquer this next tower of gifts.

The rest of the day was spent catching up with one another and having a nice meal. It was nice not to have to travel back for Christmas for once. His aunt got him this nice Teddy Bear and it was a challenge to get him to pose in anyway with it. It was his veryΒ  first Christmas morning, and Christmas #3 was held by just the three of us. πŸ˜€Β  He was trying to eat the tags and bow the whole time. haha.

Later that day we prepared for Christmas #4 with my side of the family. Thankfully they only live one city block away. Before we left we tried to take a few family selfies, if anything they are memorable.

My two brothers, my parents, sister in-law, niece, and brother’s girlfriend were all at my parents house as well. Here is my dad feeding Everett his bottle.

We again had a nice meal and were able to catch up with one another. We also had the Steelers game on since the rest of my family are Steelers fans. Makes sense right? I’m the odd one out. We loaded the car at the end of the night and headed home. We had our first Christmas experience as parents and I would say it was a huge success. We will have to do it again sometime πŸ˜‰

I forgot to mention the boy got a ball pit! At first he was pretty terrified and I almost passed out blowing it up, but he came around and so did I!

Lastly here is my baby boy hanging out in his crib yesterday as happy as could be!

Again I hope you all had a great weekend, and were able to spend some time with your loved ones. If it is as bitter cold as is it here, bundle up and stay safe. If not, well…I’m jealous haha. Have a great day! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Talk!

Hey Everyone!

It is 8:05 am and I am starting my early morning ‘Coffee Talk’ off right. I just had my first cup of coffee and I am ready to end this day! haha.

I get a nice four day weekend and a ton of family time this weekend, so the quicker this day goes the better. That being said today won’t be a bad day by any means. Here at work they are having an ugly sweater contest, that I failed to enter. :/ I know, I know. I was late to the game and tried to find one last night. I went to five different stores and failed each and every time. Maybe next year. We are also having a Christmas luncheon. Most departments in our company agreed to bring in certain items and we will have a nice lunch.

I’m guessing my day will be pretty lack luster. Not may people like to report any issues on a Friday, and definitely not on a Friday with a long weekend. After lunch my wife will be bringing Everett into the office. He came in when he was just a month or so old, and I have had some requests from some employees to see him again. She works a half day-ish today so she is bringing him in.

Speaking of Everett, he is exactly seven months old today! It is hard to believe, I know, but it is true. He is sitting, rolling, and working on crawling and standing. To be honest I see him standing and walking before he crawls haha. He has mumbled a few things that sound like words, and has started to gnaw on some solid foods.

What are your plans for the holiday weekend? Are you doing any traveling? How many people are you going to see? Do you have any fun holiday traditions? Let me know in the comments below.

Remember I will be back Wednesday the 27th with, I’m sure, a giant weekend update. I’ll see ya then! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Rambling On And On!

Hey Everyone!

My finger is a bit better today. I don’t have it shipping taped up with a paper towel haha.

Work today have been pretty busy. I haven’t had a on of time to think of something to post about. I had to fix a linking issues between three Excel documents, connect our new RF Gun to the network and be able to lock it down, and help our head sales guy use his OneDrive for the first time.

It is quite a bit of time for each, and after lunch I have to meet with a girl in Purchasing to work on her macro enabled Excel sheet. It is a sheet that I made and it is only not working on her PC from a certain person. I have walked with it through all the steps multiple time and haven’t found anything to be wrong with the way it is being sent. That leads me to believe that it is something missing from her PC. Again it isn’t straight forward because it is happening only with this one other person, and not everyone else. I don’t know it has been boggling my mind for weeks now. With any luck I can get it up and running for her again.

Our company hands out Turkeys each year as a little gift. Today is that day! They go out and buy like 300 Turkeys for each person to have one. I usually give mine to my wife’s family so they don’t have to buy one. I usually help eat my dad’s since we both work at the same place and celebrate the same holidays together haha. It is a really weird thing to do but pretty neat too.

This weekend we are having the rest of my wife’s family come down and celebrate Christmas with us and I keep forgetting that I have a four day weekend coming up. I’m super excited about that.

All of that being said I won’t be posting until Wednesday of next week, well after tomorrow. I also cover a co-worker that next Thursday and Friday so I may or may not post then either. It is up in the air. I’ll try. But if I can’t I’ll be rolling into the New Year! Woooo.

I’ll see you all again tomorrow, hopefully for a true ‘Coffee Talk’. See ya then! πŸ˜€

Happy Baby!

Hey Everyone!

I just got done working in the shop all morning. We had 14 cables ran and they all needed ends and wall plates. I will try to keep this post short for my own sake, since while working in the shop I cut my middle finger and it is all taped up. I have typed 6 words incorrectly just in this paragraph because of it haha.

Last night we gave Everett some pizza crust while we were eating and he seemed to like it.

Told ya so haha. Such a cutie!

After we got him all cleaned up, and in his jammies he rode his train that his grandparents got for him. We have to still hold him up but he was loving every second of it.

If you want to smile today all you have to do it watch this video we took of Everett last night. There doesn’t seem to be much that is better than a baby laughing.

In other news, remember that the official first day of winter is tomorrow! Yikes. I hope you all have a great hump day, and I’ll see you tomorrow, byeeeee πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

BLW & Fun DIY!

Hey Everyone!

Last night we had some hamburger and tater tots for dinner. As I mentioned before we are trying ‘Baby Led Weaning’ for solid foods, so it was only right to give Everett some.

He mad a little bit of a mess and was more into the tater tots, I think because they might have had more of a taste. He doesn’t really ‘eat’ much of it. It is more like let me put it in my mouth until I spit most of it out, for now. haha

Sorry for this blurry one but he was moving a round a bit. We figured we would try some tomato as well. We sliced him up a few pieces and he liked it surprisingly well. It is obviously more juicy, but I wasn’t sure if he would like the taste. Despite that face he was making he gnawed on that the longest.

The rest of the night I played a few video games and watch the Tampa Bay, Atlanta game on ESPN.

Today we have a retirement lunch, again, at work. It seems like every week lately. Who am I to complain about free lunch though haha. this particular guy has been with the company for 43 years. That is a loooong time, especially in this day and age.

I was also a little bored and knew that we had some old left over PC parts. I have seen a bunch of these things online and decided to make my very own. I asked the guy in the tool crib for glue, and found the rest buried in our cabinets.

Ta Da! A RAM Christmas wreath. I am pretty impressed with how it came out. Those are the memory sticks in your desktop computer. The bow is a red cat 5 or 6 cable, and the white ribbon is from a cookie I had this morning haha. Not to shabby! πŸ˜€

That is about it for me today, I can also tell you that we will for sure be getting rid of Sling TV once our trial is up. It just really doesn’t fit what we are looking for. I’ll keep you posted. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Christmas #1!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome back on this fine Monday. Lets see, I’ll fill you in on this weekend in this post. Friday was very normal and not much was going on. Saturday we woke up and my wife wanted to get some last minute Christmas shopping done. We headed about a half an hour away and hit up the T.J. Maxx. We brought Everett, like we normally do, and he was pretty fussy the whole time.Β  I ended up carrying him so that my wife could focus on getting what she came for. He is getting heavy enough now that he really hurts your back. We were also having a guy come buy our pellet stove finally! He was supposed to come at 3-3:30 Saturday and he called me while we were still out shopping, saying he was at our house! We were about 25 minutes away and definitely not home. I was able to tell him that I would get a hold of my dad and/or brother to meet him. By the time I got home he was gone and my dad handed me the money. That was the easiest thing I had to do all weekend haha.Β  So here is your typical ‘money shot’ after the sale haha.

You may remember me talking about a game called Ingress. It is a mobile augmented reality game. If you don’t play it, you should. You should also be sure to join the blue team (Resistance). πŸ˜‰ Anyway, every so often a group of us get together, hangout, and most times, play the game in a group. We also stop and have lunch or dinner.Β  We met up this summer and played for a while and had some awesome pizza. It being a terrible winter night, we all just met up for some food at a bar and caught up with each other on Saturday. We had the typical 7 people there, even though we were missing a few others due to sickness and car trouble. I’m sure they will see us at the next one. If you are thinking about trying it out just know that it is a huge game, played worldwide, and addicting as all get out. You can hook up with local players all over and join groups on things like Facebook, Google Hangouts, and Zello. Dinner was actually really dang good. I built my own blue cheese burger, while others got home made prime rib, and pizza. All of which got great reviews.

Sunday my wife’s dad and family came into town to celebrate Christmas with us. We are trying to start the trend of not really traveling on Christmas since we always travel to see them every.single.time. This year is working well so far, they came this weekend. Next weekend will be the rest of her family and possibly mine. We are probably going to my parents late Christmas day just because my brothers and I went in on gifts for my parents and it wouldn’t make since to not all be there. Back to yesterday though. They brought a nice spaghetti casserole, and we made salad and bread sticks. Nothing fancy but here is our little table spread.

Afterwards the boys played a bit and we opened gifts that we got for each other. Here is my brother in-law Remi playing with his dump truck.

Next we have Everett and his Grandpa Fred, hangin out on the couch. Look at those happy faces.

This one is just a group shot of everyone, except me that is, while opening gifts.

Here we have Everett with a bow on his head looking at his farm puzzle. He really likes chewing on those haha.

Everett and Remi are both playing with Remi’s puzzle in this one. I love seeing him sitting up and interacting with other kids.

We have two shots of him opening his big gift from his grandma and grandpa. He got a little sit on train with fun little buttons and lights on the sides. He can have it for a while and grow in to the rest of it.

Seriously how stinkin cute!

After that they headed home, they live about an hour and a half away. With it getting dark so early it is hard to stay very long anywhere. Once they left we gave Everett some of the spaghetti casserole.

He isn’t quite sure what to do or think about it all, and he is slow to bring real food to his mouth. We are trying to use a technique we learned from my cousins this summer called ‘Baby Led Weaning’ It is an approach to introduce solid food, to encourage the baby to self-feed. It is not done with any pureed food on a spoon. It isn’t to wean them off of milk but rather on to solids. Everett is now sitting with us and ‘attempting’ to eat what we eat. He can eat at his own pace, as well as as much or as little as he wants. He isn’t tied to only a few types and kinds of food. He is still getting breast milk and he is under very careful supervision. It seems to be going well. πŸ˜€ It is different from what people are used to and it freaks people out but it just fine for babies. I was freaked out at first, but not too much anymore. If you would like to read about it check this link out. Mama Natural.

That was about the end of our night. Oh, I am also testing streaming services to find what will work for us. I started my 7 day trial of Sling TV and can tell you now it isn’t what I want. I will be going to Hulu Live TV next weekend and think I will like it much more. I will also try to plug the coaxial cable right into my TV and pick up local channels. I’ll try to remember to let you know how it all goes.

I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Coffee Time!

Hey Everyone!

Well here we are on a Friday morning. I just finished my first cup of coffee and also remembered to start this post! Seems rare. πŸ˜€

Well first as a correction to my post yesterday it was the FCC vote not the congress vote, not yet. There is still time to fight for Net Neutrality. But that isn’t what this post is about, just a side note.

Lets see, it is bitter cold here coming in at 7 degrees F, yes just 7 lol. It is one of those mornings where it seems to be too cold to snow. The roads are slick and it was slow going to daycare and work this morning.

In Netflix fun I believe that ‘The Ranch’ is back for another season. My wife and I fell for that show after just giving it a chance. It seemed like a dumb little spin off,Β  because Ashton Kutcher was bored and has money. It turned into more for us and has become a show that we want more of. I am also super stoked that ‘Black Mirror’ will be back on the 29th I believe.

Yesterday at work, I was making moves and posting up. I like proving my worth and knowing that I am making an impact. Most days people know I am here and know that I help, but there are some days where people really see you as someone important. Yesterday turned out to be one of those days. Another person in out department has been working on something that is over his head and taking too long, like months. I got a hold of the project and had it fixed in under 30 minutes. Now I don’t like being the guy to swoop in and take a project, so I waited until it was given to me. I am still the low man on the totem pole and don’t want to step on any toes. It is a delicate balance in a small department. But it was nice to b recognized for furthering a much bigger project and knowing that I played a huge part in moving it forward.

I guess that is what we can talk about today. Have you ever felt that way? Have you had some time to step into the spotlight and make a visible impact, whether at work, or some other area of your life? Have you ever felt like you have to wait for the right moment to do something? How did that go for you? Success? Let me know down below!

I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll see you here again on Monday! πŸ˜€ : D

Net Neutrality…..AGAIN!

Hey Everyone,

Since I assume with the Word press thingy slowing my posts today I won’t get a ton of traffic. But there is a more important issue at hand. Today congress votes on the Net Neutrality issue and without it we could see things like what is going on with my page today. Fast lanes for paying more money and slow lanes everyday. You would pay for data like a phone and then be throttled. Big companies will be able to control who gets what and freedom of the internet will go away forever! Fight today and get a hold of your congress men and women.

Here are links to my other posts on this issue if you want to know more.

This one from May 10th:

And this his one from July 13th of this year:

Lets hope we still can save the internet! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Winter Is Here!

Hey Everyone!

I’m a bit early with the post today, because I know I will be busy around lunch time today. It is not often that I know when I will be busy, so it is kind of a welcomed thing. Ya know?

I hinted that I may have to use my snow blower last night, but the snow didn’t really start accumulating until late in the evening. That being said I woke up this morning to a ton of snow haha. We still have lake effect snow warnings and watches until mid day today. We went from no snow two days ago to about 11-18 inches. This is pretty typical though where I live, we are just an hour and a half away from Lake Erie and get all the heavy stuff. There was only a two hour delay for schools today even though all the main roads and hills are still covered. We are, mostly, pretty decent at driving in this weather since we see it all the time. For reference I took a picture off of my porch this morning after I already shoveled the sidewalk.

From this picture alone you can see that it was piling back on right as I went. I’m sure it looks like I didn’t do much at all by now haha. This evening when I get home I will for sure fire my snow blower up and give it it’s first real ride. Everything is ready and waiting. The only thing I couldn’t find this morning are my leather gloves but I can grab others. My driveway is long and narrow so the hard part is going to be finding a safe place for the snow to go. I don’t want to hit the house or windows, or throw it on my neighbors driveway beside mine, so I’ll have to be careful.

On another note, I wish I knew that trying to do car seat things in the snow was going to be as awful as it is. I try my best not to fall down the stairs out of the house. Then I try my best to not fall walking to the car. Keeping him out of the elements is hard on top of trying to get him in the car without snow falling on him haha. I guess it is better than pouring down rain, if I had to find a silver lining. πŸ˜€Β  This is when I wish we would have found a house for the right price with a two stall garage. I have been texting my wife when Everett and I are both safely at or destinations to keep her mind at ease. The little girls at his daycare always laugh when I get him inside and pull his winter hat off. His little hat hair is funny.

Where you live have you received any snow yet? Do you at all? Let me know in the comments below, so I can share in your pain or be jealous that you are living the dream in a warmer climate haha. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
