Someone Got Married!

Hey Everyone!

Aside from my baby boy being born on the 22nd, my brother got married on the 27th. I had the honor of being his best man, which scares the crap out of me haha.

Friday we ran through the framework of the wedding and that is when it hit me that it was all happening. My brother has been reserved his whole life and only speaks to a select few people, by choice. I’m glad he found someone to help him open up a bit more and allow him to start a family and settle down.

After we ran through everything at the church we went to the reception hall and had a dinner in the basement of the men’s club.

There is a nice bar down there and they have a two lane bowling alley down there too! They served a nice buffet style meal of, red potatoes, salad, chicken bites, BBQ chicken breast, and a casserole. Midway through my brother brought all of us grooms men boxes with our ties in them and a small knife. I didn’t get a picture of the knife, but it is a black blade with a wooden handle. Our names are engraved on the side, and it comes in a nice little case that fits on a belt loop.

When everything was said and done I ran back home to be with my little one and my wife.

Then next day was the big day! We met up at 12:30 or so and got dressed at the church. By 2pm the ceremony was starting, and before we knew it we were walking out in front of all of our family and friends. The ceremony was sweet. There were a few nice prayers and a mixing of unity sand, before they were announced as a married couple.

After the wedding we rode around in a big ol’ limo and got some pictures around town. There are more being edited I’m sure, but the the last two and this one are all that are here now.

The photographer did a great job and was easy to work with. She is a friend of the bride and that helped. We were taking pictures for a long time and some of the people were getting a bit upset that we weren’t back yet. I mean think about it, we were gone for like two hours and all they were doing was sitting at the reception hall with nothing to do. I get it. Some people with long drives just up and left and that is understandable, but most of the people stayed. We ate a nice dinner, gave our toasts, and saw some dances.

The toast scared the crap out of me like I knew it would but I got through it. I finished it a day before I needed to read it. It was the right length and I tried my best to look to the crowed and speak steady and slow enough. The rest of the night was fun. We danced and I was able to catch up with some family that made the trip as well as long time friends that came down too. All of my friend are having or already have kids now and it is hard to get together anymore, so it was nice to see them. My brother and his wife had a guestbook that was made up of Polaroid pictures and allowed everyone to take a picture and glue it in the book, as well as write something. My older brother and I took full advantage to goof off and take a weird picture. Don’t worry we took a nice one too haha.

Like I said before the reception was held at the men’s club, it is a nice brick building with white pillars. It is in the heart of our small down town area.

We were up on the second floor and had a nice view out the windows. After the reception some of them went to the local bars to finish out the night. I on the other hand got back to my wife and beautiful baby boy.

The next day my brother and I had two softball games. We won both of them in short. The first one we won 25 to 12 in the 6th inning and the second one was close to 12 to 5 in the 7th. It was another nice day and we were glad we could win a couple games since we lost both of them last week.

A quick update on the baby. We were able to take him off of the glow blanket! We went for a walk with him and the dog yesterday, and got some newborn pictures that my wife is editing. I’ll be sure to share them when I can.

That’s all for today, I’m glad to be back in somewhat of a routine.  I’ll see you all again tomorrow! 😀 😀

Welcome Everett Hugh!!

Hey Everyone!

I’m back! Today is my last day at home, and tomorrow I’ll be back at it.

I left you hangin in the last post, so I hope you are chomping at the bit.

It was early Monday morning, 3am to be exact, when my wife woke me up and said we had to go to the hospital. We didn’t think we would be there long, she had a question about her water possibly having a slow leak. She was worried about infection if that was indeed the case. Her contractions were like they had been in the days prior, so we really didn’t think anything of it. I decided to chronicle it anyway just in case. 😉  We hopped in the car and headed to the local hospital. Once there we had to use the Emergency entrance.

Once we registered we were on out way to the room. Mind you this isn’t where we wanted to have the baby, but we also didn’t think he was coming.

It was all very simple and very uncomfortable. We were told that she would be on the monitor until the doctor came in, that wasn’t until 8am. At this time her contractions got better and stayed pretty far apart, so we thought we would be on our way out by 9am.

Much to our surprise the doctor came in and checked to see how far along she was and found that she was at 4 centimeters. He turned to us and said, “I’ll be back in to break your water, you’ll have your baby today.” Say what! I’m glad at this point I brought the bags in haha. He came back in and did just that. from that point on it was a waiting game. When she was able to get her epidural she did. We figure why ignore medical advancements and go at this without any pain help. That would be like going to the dentist and refusing Novocain! After the first three hours she got up to 6 centimeters, by the next three hours she was at 9. She feeling the pressure, figuratively and literally. They had her lay on her side with a blown up peanut looking thing between her legs, for the last centimeter. It was up to her to call in the midwife when she was ready to push. After every thing we went through and sat through, this was going to be it. All the waiting, and preparing was coming to an end. We would finally get to meet our son.

She called in the midwife an hour or so later and it was on. They quickly went though how they wanted her to push, and told her to start when she felt her next contraction. I was holding one leg and the other nurse was on the other. My wife took a deep breath and put her chin down. They had her push three times in one ‘set’ and then rest. She did that five or six times. She was only pushing for 16 minutes. She was a natural!

Here we go! I would like to introduce to you our precious baby boy, born at 5:20pm, May 22, 2017!

He came out with a little scream and calmed right down when he was on moms chest. His eyes were wide open that whole day and you can’t miss that full head of hair. 😀

Everything was looking good and they let me cut the umbilical cord. Soon after they checked his length, head size, and weight. He was 6lb 11.5oz, 20 inches, and his head was 13 1/4 inches.  Throughout the day the day he met with the Pediatrician and everything was perfect. Maybe a day or so later they checked his eyes and hearing, as well as his blood type. Again everything came back great. His blood type is the same as his mom’s so that means they didn’t need shots, since she had a negative RH factor.

Anyway the rest of the day was spent resting and meeting with some family.

You can see we were pretty busy haha. Everyone wanted to meet the little guy, I guess I can’t blame them. 🙂

We spent 2 nights and most of three days in the hospital just to continue getting some help and advice. We left on Wednesday and were out on our own. our dog has been very protective and its pretty cute.

His first appointment was Friday and they saw that he was a bit Jaundice, and needed to be on that glow blanket. We called that place up and they came and gave it to us, as well as showed us how to use it. We have been living in the living room ever since. He has to be plugged in to this thing until his levels go down.

It basically wraps around his belly and has to be on 24/7 unless he is being bathed. It is Velcroed and just always in the way. It is attached to a hose, that is connected to a power source with a loud-ish fan, and then plugs into the wall. So we have been stuck to the same corner of the house for days. He just went back today and got his blood work done again. We are currently waiting for the doctor to call, and hopefully tell us he can be done with it. Fingers crossed.

I hope you have enjoyed my baby boy! I’m so glad I am finally able to write this. I know it’s longer than normal but I hope you stuck with it. If you did then you get to see my favorite two pictures of him!

First we have, “Flippin Daddy the Bird”

Followed by, “Flint Lockwood” (From the movie ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs)

I’ll be back to work tomorrow catching up on everything. I’ll fill you all in about my brothers wedding then! It’s been busy here haha. I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 😀

Bachelor Party Weekend! (BABY UPDATE SOON)

Hey Everyone!

I know what must be on all of your minds. Did they have their baby? Where have all of my favorite posts gone? haha To quickly answer your questions, YES! We have had the baby. With so much going on I will save that post for when I come back to work. I should be back to work Tuesday the 30th. If I’m feeling frisky I may post about it the day before I go back. That way I’ll have the time to properly introduce my little healthy boy! 😀 😀 😀

By the way I felt the need to run the weekend update by you guys so I’m sitting here in a cot, in the hospital, beside my wife haha. Here I’ll prove it!

This is far different from my usual set up. No desk, no PC, no chair haha. It was a long night but very worth it!

Anyway on the weekend. Friday I didn’t post because I left work half a day to get some things done before the baby came. I needed to pick up a few things. I ran to Wal-Mart and got everything I needed to change the oil in my truck (since I hadn’t done it all winter oops) It took a little bit to get set up, because it was the first time that I have ever done it at the new house. Yay for firsts! 😀  After that I cleared out my garage and got rid of all the junk that was left in it. In the process of dumping it all at my dad’s I grabbed our grill, and the air conditioner. Once I got home again, I installed the grill outside for my wife, and put the AC unit in the window. We got the laundry done and the house clean. That was the end of our busy Friday.

Saturday was my brother’s bachelor party. I got to the restaurant early and played some ukulele in the truck before they arrived.

While I was still waiting I got a shot of how full my truck was and the outside of the place we ate.

The food was great and the owner knows my dad. They used to work together so we chatted with him for a little bit before we left to hit the links! We are terrible at golf and nothing was to be expected haha. We lost more balls than we wanted but found more than we lost so that makes it all good. 😀

As you can see we are a rag tag bunch of guys haha. We did what we could. My brother beat us all which is fair, since it was his day.

After gold we ate at a local spot and headed to camp. We set up tents and got rocks from the creek for the fire ring. We played some corn hole and reminisced about past memories. It was a great night.

I was able to do something that I have been waiting for for a very long time. I was able to share a drink with my brother for the first time ever. He stopped drinking all together when I started for the first time haha. This was the first time we were able to share a drink together and it was a good feeling. I even have proof that he did haha.

Sunday we made it to softball surprisingly. We had our first round of double headers. I was able to get a few pictures of my niece playing and hanging with her daddy.

We didn’t do so hot during the games. We dropped them both which is always a bit disappointing. It wasn’t any one players fault just an off day.

Now you are mostly back up to speed. I’ll leave you with a little bit of a cliff hanger for when I come back. My wife woke me up at about 3am Monday morning, and told me we needed to go to the hospital….

Thank you for reading, I have missed catching up with you all. I’ll be back soon with a proper introduction to my healthy son! See ya then! 😀 😀

Gah I tried haha. I got 10 that’s pretty good! Please check out these blogs too. Each one is special in its own way. I love seeing the variety of content!

On to the facts!

  1. I will me a new dad any day now! It is super exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time. Wish us luck!
  2. I do all of my blogging on my down time at work. Mostly through lunch, because dedication, that’s why!! haha
  3. I am a Cancer! I was born in July. I have loved having my birthdays be in the summer, my whole life. We always would go swimming at the local pool!
  4. One of my dreams is to be able to open my own PC repair shop and have it be my full time career. It probably won’t happen where I live, due to the demand not being there but it would be cool.
  5. The only things that I gained through my five years spent at college were culture, life long friends, and my wife. I wish I could say there was more, but there really wasn’t. That wasn’t what I expected to go into debt for…..(Still wouldn’t trade it for anything)
  6. I am great with kids, and people with special needs. I worked in group homes for a while, and still would be there if they paid enough to live. I volunteered as a special needs camp counselor for 5 summers. I also worked at an after school program for children, while I was in high school.
  7. I can trace my family tree on my dad’s side all the way back to the 1100’s ( Without looking I can’t be positive, but its close to that give or take 100 years) That’s a long time ago!

Again I want to thank “The Great Awesome” for the nomination. I will wear the award proudly! 😀 😀

Bachelor Party Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We are on the tail end of the week now, thankfully haha. My wife and I are just in the waiting stages, for our baby to be born. We are just keeping things calm around the house since it could happen anytime now.

This weekend I am throwing my brother his bachelor party. It will be fairly calm too. He doesn’t drink or anything so it won’t be too rowdy. Our plan is to grab lunch with about seven of us. We are going to a newer spot in town. They serve moonshine and bar food. It is pretty dang good! After that we are going to carpool to a golf course and play at least nine holes. That should be a riot since none of us golf. Most of my brother’s friends don’t have a sports oriented, coordinated bone in their bodies. It will just be nice to have something different to do all day. The rest of the night we are going to go out to our dad’s land and camp. I probably won’t stay the night, because my wife doesn’t want to be home alone. But we will cook dinner over the fire, and hike around. We may end up getting some poker in too. It’ll be a great time all around.

The very next weekend will be his wedding, and again we will be expecting a baby anytime. Hopefully the cards land in favor of us being able to do it all haha. It is a crap shoot for sure. I have about half of my speech written, but I have to step away from it often. I hate having to write something like that, and I don’t like public speaking. Oh well, I’m going to do it so I should just get over it haha. Easier said than done I suppose. We will see how it goes.

Everything is coming so fast. I knew this month was going to be hectic. Ooo I also remembered to get a haircut scheduled. That may not sound like a great accomplishment, but for me it is. I have a hard time justifying spending money on getting my hair cut. Especially when I don’t have any money. I have been better about it lately though. I am going to get one tonight after work from the same girl that cut it the last two times. With any luck she will stick around and be my permanent go to girl for cuts. I should be looking good for the wedding, with my new haircut and resized tux get up! 😀

That is a quick little update on my life. I’ll be sure to bring you pictures of everything going on so you can see what I see. 😀

That’s all from me today. I’m not sure if I’ll get a news post in today or not. I have been pretty buy at work. I’ll see you all again tomorrow. 😀 😀

P.S. If I fall off the face of the Earth anytime, assume I had a baby haha.

Split (2016)

Title: Split0000000000000000

Director: M. Night Shyamalan

Genre: Horror, Thriller

Rating: PG-13

Leads: James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Haley Lu Richardson

OK, so I was bored and didn’t know what to watch. In all honesty, I hadn’t heard of this movie or anything to do with it. I know M. Night Shyamalan has been renowned as a great director to many for his work on the movie “The Sixth Sense.” I know he has been criticized for his other films because they can’t live up to that pinnacle. Anyways, I was looking for something to watch and this ended up being it. A total shot in the dark. I could have loved it or hated it, I really didn’t know.

A quick summary, minus spoilers, to get things started is in order. There are three girls that get kidnapped by a man with 23 different identities, and of course 23 different names haha. He is played by James McAvoy. The lead girl is Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), followed by Claire (Haley Lu Richardson), and lastly Marcia (Jessica Sula). These girls are held hostage by this man, and all of his identities. Throughout the whole movie the girls are trying to figure out a way to escape. They aren’t entirely what the captor’s motives are, or why they were kidnapped, seemingly at random. James McAvoy’s character visits a psychologist, named Dr. Karen Fletcher (Betty Buckley), throughout the movie. He specialty seems to be working with this identity disorder. He comes to her for help, yet can never get his termoils across to her in a meaningful way. It is up to Dr. Fletcher to read him and figure out who he is most times.   The story continues and things increasingly get worse and worse for James McAvoy’s character, until something major happens. From there you don’t know what is about to happen! I’ll leave it at that. Dastardly, I know. 😀

I must give huge props to James McAvoy. He plays this role amazingly. You may recognize him from his other works like: Various X-Men movies as young Professor X, The lead in “Wanted” with Angelina Jolie, or “Filth” as a bipolar cop. This is one of those roles, where no matter how you feel about the actor you have to respect what he was able to accomplish with the role. Honestly, he makes the movie what it is. The story line of the main female character isn’t developed enough for me. I mean Anya Taylor-Joy does a great job as playing a weird outcast, That maybe shouldn’t have been in the position she was, but her story line could have gone into more detail for me personally. The movie is 117 minutes long, and stays in that sweet spot. The pace is good for the genre, but I must say that I wouldn’t agree that it is a full fledge horror film. Thriller sure, horror meh, possibly. Another thing I have to mention is that the way the camera cuts and changes frequently must have been hard. Usually when James McAvoy’s indentiy changes you have a slight or hard cut to/from something else. Most other movies don’t have that. That is something that they had to remain aware of throughout the whole film.

There are a few things I found that had some deeper meaning to them in the movie. Just under the surface. Hmm, how can I say this without giving anything away? There is a theme about how people perceive others that carries through the whole movie. You will see it in the beginning and end of the movie. That is about all I can say without giving too much away.

In summary, of my summary, the movie was well paced, had a stupendous lead actor, a good supporting cast. It wasn’t too long or too short. It is a movie that takes on something culturally that most movies wouldn’t, at least not in that detail. I don’t think it justifies a main genre of horror, and I think there should have been a more in depth story line for Anya Taylor-Joy’s character. Over all I enjoyed the movie. I would watch it again, just for James McAvoy!

Give this movie a watch, it will keep you thinking and keep you wanting more.

I personally give this movie a 7/10

Ransomware & You!

Hey Everyone!

I am pretty busy today, which is a good thing! We have a new couple of interns and other things going on today. It is keeping me really busy.

I wanted to talk about something that is in the news often and more currently today. Ransomware! What is it? How do people fall into traps? What can you do if you fall victim?

If you want to read and see about the newest ransomware attack check the Wiki here! It is some pretty crazy stuff. The professional that was vigilant and doing his job, has a blog about how he essentially stopped it, you can read that here! It is really awesome, may be a bit hard to understand though. You can also see here on this map how crazy fast and far it spread. To see that click this link!

Ransomware, what is it? By definition it is: “A type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid.” Scary huh? In other words it is malware, that can stop your computer from working until you pay up! It can be hard to get rid of after the fact. It has become more of a prevent issue since 2005 and no out numbers data breaches, each year.

You may wonder how people fall into traps? Shouldn’t it be common sense to not do certain things, that seem fishy? Well, yes, but these traps can be very elaborate. Some times they are disguised as FBI warrants, with seals and everything (see below). Other times they can come in emails. Not just any emails, but ones from people you know. They can injected files and scripts into emails from hijacked accounts. Once you click on a document sent by “your friend” it can trigger events to lock down your PC and your goose is cooked. So not everything out there is suspicious, they do a great job of hiding in plain sight.

What can you do to protect yourself?

  • Use and keep our anti-virus, ad malware software up to date.
    • If money is an issue I love AVG for anti virus, and it is free to home users.
    • For malware, I suggest Malwarebytes. It is also free to home users, but you have to remember to scan your device. If you pay for premium service you can set it up to scan for you.
    • Those two things are your best friends. Remember not to have more than one anti-virus software on your machine. There is the possibility that they will cancel each other out, and not work at all.
  • You have to be smart and recognize what is real and what isn’t.
    • Do not interact with spammy emails, just delete them if you aren’t sure.
    • Avoid sites that you aren’t familiar with
      • If it looks sketchy, it probably is, just leave the site.
    • Don’t download things unless you know what it is.
    • Make sure that you keep your data backed up properly
      • If you are hit with an attack, know that your data is safe somewhere else.
    • Make sure that your PC is also up to date.
      • If there are patches or updates make sure that they are being installed. Don’t blow them off.

If all else fails, call me! haha But for real, get a hold of an IT professional if you can. Try to avoid Geek Squad and people who will rape you in inflated costs, if you can. In all honesty there is a decent chance that your machine won’t work again after these types of attacks, if left alone. It really depends on the code in the malware.

For example, part of the reason I am busy today is that We have a PC from another person, not from our company, who fell victim to an older type of ransomware. We are going to pick the PC up ad bring it here to try and fix it. We will do everything we can but there are no guarantees. It can be scary stuff, but if you know how to protect yourself and you browse wisely you have a better chance out there.

I hope this was useful to you. I hope you find the information somewhat interesting, and maybe even helpful sometime in the future. If you have questions or comments I would love to read them.

That’s all for now! See you tomorrow, stay safe. 😀 😀

Mother’s Day Weekend!

Hey Everyone!

This has been by far the busiest weekend for me in a long time. Don’t worry though, it was a good thing.

Friday after work I got home in time to get the mail. I had ordered my wife flowers from and they came, as expected. I got her some tulips because she had been wanting some. I got to pick out the vase too and I knew she would love this one. Have a look.

I made sure to order other flowers for my mom and had them sent to her house on the same day. She got a nice mix of colorful flowers.

Saturday was the big softball tournament. It is the first one that commemorates the start of the season. It really has nothing to do with where your team sits, it is just to get the kinks out for the most part. We had our first game at 9am, and it was cold, really cold. It started to rain, but quickly stopped. We though we were going to lose that game, as we were down 10 runs in the second inning. That is….terrible haha. By the 5th inning we ‘ten runned’ them, meaning the game was over, because we were winning by 10 in the 5th inning. It is a mercy rule of sorts. In those last three innings we didn’t let them score and in turn we scored 20 runs! I don’t think anyone was predicting that. We went on to play 3 more games. We won the first two and lost the second two and were out of the tournament. We would have been in 5th place when we went out, so not bad. We didn’t have our full team the whole day so that was to be expected.  I was able to hit eight home runs, two in each game, so that is OK with me haha. I was wondering if my hitting would be messed up from losing weight, but I guess not. By the way I am still sore today!

Then came the big day. Mother’s Day was packed full of family time. My wife and I got up and got ready. We were going to meet her whole family for lunch in Erie, PA, ( 1.5 hours away.) We ate at one of their Panera Bread places. Even her brother, his wife, and their baby came. It was nice to see all of them. Her grandparents made it out too. It was a full house. I had a nice turkey, avocado, BLT, and soup. They have great healthy options which I liked, because there are none where I live. Afterwards we said our goodbyes. We looked at a few stores, and then turned right around and went back home. We had about one hour before we headed out again to have dinner with my parents, brother, soon to be sister in-law, and their baby.  We ate at a local Chinese buffet. I was able to keep it healthy there too. 😀 Later we went back to my parents house just to hang out. We let the baby do her thing here on the floor haha.

She is a little over 8 months old and doing all sorts of fun things. She can army crawl, and stand with the help of furniture. She is trying to talk a bit and is getting a few teeth. Here is a shot of my mom feeding her some squash I think??

Over all the weekend was a success. It was fast and gone too soon. I’m glad we were able to do everything we wanted and see everyone we wanted to see.

Today has been so so at work. A few things here and there like a normal Monday. The basement people called me and I told them that we are going to hold off another year on the basement. We just don’t have the money to do it right now and I don’t want to be red lining my finances with a new baby on the way. When we get our taxes back next April we will have them come and do it. Until then I am going to lay cement down on the unfinished room and maybe try to seal the floor as best as I can to help with the water. With any luck it will do the job for now. Maybe while I’m at it I’ll finish the steps out font. Who knows!

That’s all from me. What did you do for Mother’s Day? Anything fun? Let me know down below. Until tomorrow! 😀 😀

Ghost in the Shell (2017)

Title: Ghost in the Shell

Director: Rupert Sanders

Genre: Action, Crime, Drama

Rating: PG-13

Leads: Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano

I know there was a lot of build up for this movie for some people because there have been Manga books and animated films already made. There are also video games, multiple. People who have followed this in any way had high hopes for this movie becoming a reality. Many others just got pulled in by the presence or Major (Scarlett Johansson), and action in the movies trailer. Either way there was some decent hype about the movie.

This movie is based in Japan, as it should be, and sometime in the future. I am not, really, a fan of films in other countries that have main actors and actresses that are white. It just seems weird to me, but I can understand why they do it. Just a personal gripe. At one point in the movie you get confused because Major is a white woman and you have to realize that her brain or ‘Ghost’ is Asian. You’ll see what I mean if you watch the movie.

On to the summary! The movie was 107 minutes long which is in the good range. Again, anything pushing over two hours either has to, damn near be the best movie ever to keep people’s attention. The movie opens with some written dialogue that sets the scene pretty well. It speaks of “…the line between human and machine is disappearing…” and “…allow humans to enhance themselves with cybernetic parts.” The story itself evolves throughout the movie. It starts with Major being saved and working alongside her partner Batou (Pilou Asbæk). Major is a total badass and is portrayed as such. Her movements instantly reminded me of “The Matrix”, and I kind of liked that.

The movie was slower than I had anticipated, and that held true throughout, with only minor exceptions. It also seemed to not really divulge any information in the first half of the movie. It seemed like a slow build up with some great cinematic shots like these:

It left me wondering what was coming next. I didn’t really have any questions so I wasn’t sure where it would/could go. The direction of the movie seemed to be going one way and after the start of the second half of the movie it changed. You start to see more of the antagonist Kuze (Michael Pitt) and wonder what and who he is. You develop questions at this point about motives for things and motives for others. It took half a movie to get to the REAL point. It was done in a decent way, and maybe that is how it went in the series of shows, books, and games, but I wouldn’t know. I didn’t follow the series before this. Looking at it as a standalone movie is all I can do.

Throughout the movie you can tell it isn’t so much about the whole plot as much, rather it is about Major finding truth. Not just truth in identity, but also truth in life. A major (no pun intended) part of the film is figuring out where that line is drawn. What makes a human, human? At what point, would one not be considered human? Is there a soul? Do you have to be born? These and more pop into your head as the movie progresses.

Towards the end of the movie everything starts to come together quickly. You find the answers to some of the questions you have/had. There also starts to be a little bit more action. A few good fight scenes, and a great build up to a pinnacle. As well as a strong musical presence. The movie ends somewhat softly, leaving you with an open door. You can see that this story line ends, but there could be more to come.

The actors and actresses did a great job. Scarlett Johansson and Pilou Asbæk have great chemistry in the movie. This could in part from their work together in “Lucy” in 2014. There are other lead roles I didn’t even mention because their parts were secondary to Scarlett’s role. Anyone could have done it, and the movie would have had the same impact.  That was another aspect I didn’t think I would see. I thought there would be much more emphasis on the other characters than there was.

Making these types of reviews that summarize, and try not to give anything away is hard. Just keep that in mind haha. Over all I did enjoy this futuristic movie. The gadgets and cinematography are cool concepts. I love see what people think the future will look like. The idea of the movie is great for people who like more sci-fi type movies, even though it isn’t listed as one. There is moderate action, a decent amount of drama, and all of it is a crime in progress. It did fall short in some aspects and that did effect my rating.

That all being said I would recommend you watch this movie, if any of the stuff I wrote about interests you!

I personally give this movie a 6.5/10

Busy Mornings!

Hey Everyone!

Today has been insightful. My wife had her weekly baby appointment, and I got my free estimate for the basement.

My wife seems to be on track, as far as the doctors are concerned. She is in the good range of weight gain and, not having any pain in her belly or head. She is feeling it in other ways though. Her feet are swollen, as she is on her feet a lot for her job. Her back is hurting from carrying him around all day, and her shoulder has started hurting for an unknown reason. She was told that she could expect him at any time from here on out.  We are still very excited and nervous for what is to come. I was speaking with a college friend of mine last night about it a bit, because him ad his wife just had a baby a couple months ago. He told me it was an unexplainable experience, and I already agree. He is someone I have always looked up too so to be able to talk to him about it was insightful and reassuring.

As for the basement update, we had a guy come to my house today. He measured the basement and determined that it would be best to use a Water Guard drain around the interior perimeter of the house, and drain into a sump pump, with a battery backup. From there it would pump outside, and have an ice guard to still allow it to pump even if the pipes froze outside.

Here is what the cover of some of it looks like. Below is the actual estimate. It is damn expensive. It is only written for the pump without the battery. With the battery it is almost $900 more.

We are stuck between a rock and a hard place here. We need it to be done, so we can stop stressing about it. We want to finish the basement someday and don’t want mold. If we are going to do it we wanted to do it right. Well this is right… On the other hand, we don’t have any money and have a baby coming any day now. In the long run I think we agree that we should do it. They are back logged into July already, so we have to let them know soon.

One yet another note, we have our first softball game Saturday at 9am. We should beat the team we are up against but anything can happen in slow pitch!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll see you again Monday with a weekend update. 😀 😀
