Dreary Monday

Hey Everyone!

This weekend I went back to my wife’s hometown for a visit. She was also there to take maternity pictures for her brother and his fiance. We had a nice dinner with her whole family on Friday night. Later in the evening we played a train dominos game, drank some homemade wine, and caught the World Series game. I may have had just a bit too much homemade wine but it is too good to put down. He has been making it for years and years. H has it pretty well perfected. He makes it in a second garage, and has enough for a whole town of people. It is always readily available.

Saturday morning we got up and got ready so that my wife could get up to er brother’s house for some pictures. It was nice catching up with him while I could since we don’t see him very often. I stayed back at their house and cleaned up his PC while they were out getting their pictures taken. I was able to see the room they decorated for the baby, and its cute with trees and animals and what not. We had a quick lunch back at her grandma’s house and then headed over to her dad’s house. He just had a baby, which is a bit weird, but it works. The baby is a little chunker right now and is all smiles. We visit with them for a bit then headed home.

Sunday I was planning on getting some things done around the house, playing video games, and watching the Cowboys beat the Eagles. All of this didn’t happen though. Late Saturday night my brother text me and asked what I was doing on Sunday. He said that he had to drive 3 hours away to go get something. I told him if he wanted me to go with him that I would have to know what it was haha. He let me know that he was going to get another dog. Not just any dog but another Great Dane. Her name is Pepper and she is 14 weeks old:

This was taken in the car. She was a bit nervous at first, leaving her sister and the only home she has known. This changed once she saw her new home and family. She was in the yard and playing with their other, three year old, Great Dane. She was happy to run all around the house and play with everything. That took most of my day so I didn’t get anything else done.

Today is just cold, wet, and dreary. I cam in early again to cover for my coworker. Thankfully she will be back tomorrow. I have to look into home insurance options and hear back from the owners about the cable that we would like fixed. Things are moving and changing for the better. That is all I know for now. I’ll keep you posted, have a great Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

The Weekend Has Come!

Hey Everyone!

Like I said yesterday to day and Monday’s blog posts will be shorter, since I am covering for a co-worker. As of right now I am out of work for the weekend in one hour. Today has been a lazy, yet normal day. The air outside is crisp and the sun is out. If it wasn’t for the fact that I don’t have a window and that there is road construction, it would be a great day haha.

After I get out of work I have to get home to pack and get ready to leave. We are going back to my wife’s hometown. We are having a big dinner tonight with her family, and Saturday she is taking maternity pictures of my sister in law. She is due in early November so she has quite the bump going on. We are only going to be back there for only one night, so it shouldn’t take me very long to get ready to go. I did tell my wife I would help her scan some documents before we go so I will be able to get that done too.

If I remember correctly I told you about possibly helping my co-worker with his churches IT support. Well, he received an e-mail about coming to map out what they have this weekend too. So the only time that would work for both of us is going to be Saturday after I get back. We are going to go over there and get a sense of what they have and what they don’t have. We will determine what they need and see what type of support they need. They are willing to pay for support but don’t really have enough to hire a company so it is an interesting situation. I would love the experience and really want to help them out. That is the fun stuff about my line of work. I can walk into a place and with the proper clearance determine all kinds of things and basically be a contracted consultant.

Sunday I hope to be watching some football games and later playing basketball with my work mates. We play 6-8pm at a local church. We usually get about eight people to show up. It is a good way for us to stay active in the winter months.

That is about all I have for you wonderful people. I thank you for stopping by, and I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

p.s. With a bit of good timing I may have a surprise announcement later. πŸ˜‰

Quick Post

Hey Everyone!

So today, tomorrow, and Monday I will be at work early and leave early. I am covering for a co-worker while she is is Florida on vacation. I normally post around 1pm but I leae at 2pm when I cover for her.

Today after work, even though it is super shitty weather, I will be going out to my camp site. I think I may start tearing it down to put up a small cabin. The idea would be to make a cabin that is about the same square footage as the lean-to. I will use a chainsaw for the logs and maybe a hammer and nails. Depending on how it goes I may do a normal roof, but if it is a huge pain in the butt I may just do a raise slanted roof. I can get a hold of windows easy enough and make a door. I may buy a few 2×4’s and sheets of plywood for the floor. The end game with this would be putting in a small wood stove and maybe a bunk bed. I would like it to be a place to stay when I am hunting.

I’ll keep you posted. I’ll see you all tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Inspection & Practice

Hey Everyone!

Last night we had our inspector run through our potential home. He was doing a Radon test in the basement and a full home inspection. He was there for about two hours looking at everything. I’m glad we chose who we did to do this because he was easy and amazing to work with. The house came back with a mostly clean bill of health. There are a few things that we should keep an eye on, and a few things that are old enough to be replaced but still work for the time being. The one thing that he said did need replaced is the main electric line coming into the house. It is a thicker gauge cable and being external is all weather worn to the point that its casing is fraying. We could try and negotiate it in the contract but I think we will just take care of it. I would rather spend the money and be in the house quicker, than wait longer and have it fixed by the current owners. I would love for this process to just be over haha. Most of the small repairs I can do myself. Some of the other things can be done by friends with better backgrounds in electricity. As far as the Radon test, it was normal. I don’t really know how to read the report, but from what I gather it should stay under a 5 and did for most of the test. I think the average was a 2.5. I think it spiked up twice over a 5 but I think that may be normal. Overall we are pleased with the inspection and it has lifted a weight off our shoulders. We could only hope that nothing major was wrong until now.

Quick side note. Late yesterday our company fired a guy, which rarely happens here. It was somewhat of a big deal and it kept me busy all day today. We had to make sure that all his network stuff was locked up and we had to set up a temporary system for a few other people filling his job until the position is filled.

Tonight our masonic lodge has practice. Normally this is no big deal, we would get together and go over things that we wanted help with. Well tonight it a bit different. It is a district practice and it is being held at our lodge. We will be hosting all the members of the whole district. It will be a night filled with knowledge and experience, that no one should want to miss. I’m not sure who, but someone will be making dinner as well. You can’t beat a homemade meal and practice night. Our lodge just finished up, what seemed like a lifetime, with our initiations for the year. We brought in six new members this year and that just made for a ton of extra meetings to do degrees. But, it has finally died down for the year. It was great practice and a great refresher for some. I would like to keep it up.

That is about all that I have for you all today. Thank you for stopping by. If you belong to a masonic lodge feel free to comment and let me know where you are, it would be neat to see. I’ll see you all again tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Insert Title Here…

Hey Everyone!

Today has been pretty busy with my co-worker being in Florida. I have had a large number of small fires to put out around the shop and offices today. At this point in time things have come to a lull. Speaking of my co-worker though, he text me something interesting yesterday. He said he had a business proposition for me. At this point it could be anything, knowing him. He proceeded to tell me that the church that he and his family attends, which is also a catholic school, was large enough to warrant some IT support. He was going to possibly do it on the side, and would like to rope me in to do it with him. I think I like that idea. I worked in a high school tech building for a summer and really enjoyed it. I can only assume that they would want help with laptops and smart boards. They may even want some cable run throughout the building, who knows. But I can always use any extra money that I can get. It would be fun bottom line. He said he would tell me more about it when he comes back, which will be tomorrow. I’ll keep you updated.

With hunting season ever approaching, I can’t help but find myself watching videos about butchering your own venison. This is of course assuming that I get a deer this year. We normally take it to a local butcher, but he is old and has had a few major health problems since last year. On another downer note the guy my dad wanted to go to shot himself two days ago. So it is safe to say he won’t be doing it either. Enough about that bad stuff! I found a great You Tuber by the name of Scott Rea his channel can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs_t4Om5siqqFtVGd639Z0Q . I don’t know about you but he isn’t the kind of person I would look at and think “He is a butcher.” He is however and hes damn good. If you want to butcher anything he would be the man to watch. Again I like his videos on deer since that is mostly what I hunt. I would love to do the work myself this year if I get the chance to. It seems like you can get more out of the animal if you do it your self. Less would go to waste which I love.

Last night I downloaded an app called ‘Animation Throwdown’ It is essentially a watered down Magic the gathering, and a closer rival to Hearth Stone . Except the cards are all Adult Swim-ish character related. They use shows like the Simpsons, family Guy, Futurama, Kill of the Hill, and American Dad. It is interesting to say the least. They have a few cool features, like being able to research combos for cards and playing different game modes. If you are into that style of play its worth a look. It will pass the time that’s for sure. I quickly added two game play videos of it on my YouTube channel that can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCng86RsvYqkXHOr4o53ClQg . And it was just recorded with my phone’s built in recording software so it isn’t the best but it does get the job done haha.

I guess I’ll quit rambling. Tonight we have our home inspection so fingers crossed. Tomorrow I have a district wide masonic practice at our home lodge, so that will be fun. I’ll see you all back here tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Monday Mashup

Hey Everyone!

I had a pretty busy weekend, fun but busy. To be honest I don’t remember what happened Friday for no particular reason. BUUUT Saturday was the busiest of days. I had to get up early, as it was that day that my cousin Mike would get his third degree. He would be a Master Mason by lunch lol. This has been a long process but is all worth it in the end. My grandpa, uncle, dad, brother, and cousin were there. Once he was initiated we became the family with the most active members in our lodge. So now there are three generations in our lodge and six active members. Since we were all available and had my grandpa in town we decided to show him around my dad’s land. We stopped at a local restaurant and had a a very nice lunch. My little brother met us there. We were at this point all changed out of our suits and into our woodland clothing. It was a cold and windy day but it was the only one we had. We brought a few 4-wheeled machines to help everyone get around. Before we left for the day we shot my brothers crossbow from my dad’s new deer stand. They are really fun by the way. We then all parted ways and went home.

Our day didn’t end there though. We went over to my aunt and uncles house for a nice pumpkin diner. After that we went to a Pure Prairie League concert. It was being held at a local theater here in town. My mom won extra tickets and I gladly took them off her hands and went with my wife. Here is a link to the only song I knew haha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4xp2lgiAjY . They are a bit older than they were in 1970 but they still know how to have a good time. It was a very enjoyable evening.

This takes us to Sunday. My in-laws made the trip to see us for a little bit. My wife’s grandparents came as well as my fairly new sister in-law. She is due to have her baby early-ish November I think. They stopped by and we all went to lunch at family owned and operated local diner. I have gone there my whole life and love their food. The kid that runs it now is my age and is a good friend. After lunch we stopped at the property that we are currently buying, to show them where it is and get a sneak peek. The rest of the day was spent playing Rainbow 6 with the new operators I unlocked, with a few buddies. It has quickly become my favorite game. I have a little over 34 hours in game and have reached level 44 in that short time. My screen name on UPlay is Mandrake888 look me up if you want to play.

Today has been pretty busy since my only other networking co-worker is off until Wednesday. I have had a few more things than normal to do but it has made the day go quickly. For a Monday, I’ll take it. Tonight my wife and I will be getting groceries and watching ‘The Flash’ on the CW at 8 pm eastern.

That is all for today. I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend, and I hope you have a great week. I’ll see you again tomorrow!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Evening Turn For The Better

Happy Friday Everyone!

Yesterday I dedicated myself to having an evening of Rainbow 6 game play. I text my wife and let her know that, that was what I intended to do. I got a hold of two of my good friends and got them to join me as well. I got home with full intentions to play the night away. It really was what I wanted to do.

I got home and got all ready to go. I played one full game by myself as kind of a warm up until my buddies got there. I did pretty terrible. I didn’t get a single kill even. My one friend arrived and I played the next game with him. Now here is the thing, every time I play with him I play the worst. This isn’t a joke in any way, I literally play awful. I ended up again getting no kills and no assists and spent most of the time watching my team play without me because I died so quickly. That isn’t fun by the way. Part way through that came, out of the blue, my brother text me and asked if my wife and I would like to come over for dinner. This is a bit odd since he has never really done that before. They did just have a baby though so that could be why. I made the right choice and chose family over video games and we ended up going. I felt bad getting people together to play with me and then having to go so soon. It worked out in the end because my other friend got tied up as well.

We went to my brother’s house and hung out with his fiance and their , just over one moth old, baby. She is pretty darn cute and fun to be around even though she is still super young. We ordered food from a local pizza place, and life was good. It took my mind off of my poor gaming performance and got me out of my parents house for a bit. We really just sat their and caught up for a couple of hours but that was all that was needed. It is a bit weird seeing my little brother being a dad still but it will be normal soon enough.

Once I got home I still saw that I could squeeze a couple Rainbow 6 games in so that is what I did. And of course since my buddy wasn’t playing with me I did great! These are the two pictures that I sent him via text that same night:

rainbow1rainbow2

You know the MVP of the team, with the best score in the server, and on a 4v5 team! Why can’t I do that all the time and especially when I’m playing with my buds haha. Gah it is so frustrating lol.

Anyway, today I have had the pleasure of stumbling across another great You Tuber, who goes to great lengths to prove or disprove Rainbow 6: Siege ‘myths’ I think the series is 17 videos to this date. His name is Coreross, and he is Scottish. Here is a ling to his channel if you would like to check any f it out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCroEhhw0FYTT-UfQKwV3IpwΒ  He and a couple friends have answered some of the most asked questions about the game and test them pretty thoroughly. They keep up to date with patch notes and even go back and re-test old myths. Give ‘um a look.

One last thing, I did get a hold of my transcripts today so as of tonight my end of this deal will be done. We will be waiting for further instructions from the bank, realtor, or attorney next.

Have a great weekend, I know I have a ton of things going on. I’ll see you all again Monday! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Waiting… & Rainbow 6

Hey Everyone!

I am growing more and more irritated as I type. To help get our loan going I need to get a hold of my transcripts from the last school I attended. This would be fine, if the lady I need to talk to would call me back…. I called early this morning trying to catch her before she got busy, no luck. I called again at around 10am since I’m anxious, want my stuff, and don’t want to wait all damn day, no luck. I left her a voice mail and told her to call me when she got the message as well. It has been another three hours and she hasn’t called me still. I have been wasting my day waiting for her to call me. Some of you may think she might not be there, but she is. I asked if she was so I know haha. I know who she is and she is scattered like me in some ways. I went to my four year college with her, we and the same major. I wish that someone else would get them for me, or that they could get her to come help me out. Shes not a teacher, but she does run aroundΒ  bit, but I also know she is in her office quite a bit as well. I don’t know, I am just getting annoyed I don’t want to have to phone tag with her for days. I also want to get the information to my bank in a timely manner so that we can get this all over with.

Anyway enough about that. I have been playing a lot of Rainbow 6: Siege lately and its addicting as all hell. I would say that it is the best looking, most realistic FPS out there to date. There are some things that make is less realistic but they can be over looked since the rest of the game is that good. The only other grip I have about it is that to unlock the new operators the price is outrageous. I know it is a tactic to get people to spend more real money on the game, but for those people who don’t want to it is about impossible to unlock anything else in the game because all you can do is save currency in game for the new ops. Sorry for the long sentence. Tonight I will be playing again, but this time I won’t be alone. My Canadian friend, IGN: Rawnii, will be joining me. I would also like my old college roommate, IGN: Nox, to join us as well. This of course if he isn’t busy. It is only a 5v5 game so having three or more people is really a good thing to have.

Also regarding the game I found a really good You Tuber who goes into detail and ranks the operators on a 1-10 scale based on three different categories. His name is GavinAcity. The link to his channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCunHHVL0bJldWvDDJzN5C7g . If you are looking on his page for that section it can be found under his playlists. It is named “Operator School”. I have watched most of them, since I have been stuck in my office all day waiting for that phone call….. Check him out if you are interested.

Thank you for stopping in today. If you want to play R6 with me my UPlay name is ” Mandrake”. I’ll see you all tomorrow, have a great day! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Almost Forgot!

Hey Everyone!

I almost forgot to post today, I’ve been super busy.

As you know we are working on closing on a house. I was contacted by our bank with somethings to read over and sign. It took forever and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right so that took more time as well. I did finish what I could do here at work, but I have to instantly go home and do some more.

I also got to replace some PCs today at work and finish setting up my new one. I have been catching up on some YouTube channels like Philip DeFranco, Casey Neistat, and other small Tubers. My day has gone by fast, which is a good thing because it was also productive.

Since this is a shot post I’ll show you a picture of what our future home will look like:

The inside is super nice as well. Thanks for stopping by! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Applying & PC’s

Hey Everyone!

I’m glad you have found your way back to my blog.

Last night my wife and I went and met with out realtor to deliver the “Good Will” check. This of course referring to the escrow check. It will be held until the closing days, and will be put at that time to our closing costs. While we were meeting with her we asked about who we should get to do our home inspection and Radon test. She gave us a few names to call up. I asked what we needed to do next, and applying for the loan was it.

We rushed into town to see if the banks would still be open, they weren’t. That is one thing I hate about banks, they close right when everyone gets out of work. That is the dumbest thing I have seen and I have never been able to wrap my brain around it. Anyway, no more random rants. We got home and I called the mortgage line for my bank since they were open until 5pm. She said that we could do the application right there over the phone. That was that, I told her great and off we went. We completed the application process and now I am waiting to receive two emails from her. One will tell us what we need to send in, like W-2, pay stubs, and other things of that nature. The other is just some simple question answer type questions. We were told that we could scan and email the documents to make it easy on us. This would make it so that we don’t have to keep calling off work to go to the damn bank. Big fan!

While I was finishing the phone call with the nice mortgage banker, my wife was setting up a day and time for the home inspector. We settled on next Tuesday the 25th. It will be about $500 for both inspections but I guess that is about the going rate here so that is fine by us. After that we will get confirmation of the appraisal, and then have to meet with lawyers and talk insurance. So, so far I think we are off to a goo start. We will have enough for closing costs and inspections, as well as have an affordable payment each month. As we progress I’ll be sure to keep you all updated.

As far as PC’s, I let you know yesterday that I got two in. I did in fact replace my own. So I am writing this on a brand spanking new PC. It is a little better specs wise from my old one but I needed something better for what I use it for. I made the seamless swap this morning. My PC will be going to a guy in the shop that doesn’t use the computers heavily at all so he will never know haha. At the end of the day it is kind of up to my own discretion anyway so its all good. I did also get the other two set up so I hope within this week I’ll be able to install them for the guys. They will both be new to Windows 10 so I’ll stay around to show them the ropes, if need be.

Thank you for stopping by, and I’ll see you all tomorrow! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
